차종구분 영상조사 자료를 활용한 TCS기반 고속도로 O/D 구축: 화물자동차 중심으로 (Estimation of Expressway O/D Matrices from TCS data by Using Video Survey Data for Vehicle Classification: Focused on Truck)

  • TCS자료를 통한 고속도로 화물자동차 수요추정은 많은 한계가 있다. 본 연구는 TCS자료의 차종을 재분류하기 위한 영상조사를 수행하여 고속도로 도시유형별/권역별 차종비율을 분석하였다. 또한, 도시유형별/권역별 차종비율과 TCS자료를 활용하여 2011년 기준 TCS기반 고속도로 화물자동차 O/D를 구축하였다. 본 연구에서 구축한 고속도로 화물자동차 O/D분석결과, 화물자동차 톤급별 평균통행거리는 소형화물차 52km/대, 중형화물차 56km/대, 대형화물차 97km/대로 나타났다. 또한 전국 고속도로를 대상으로 관측교통량과 배정교통량의 오차율이 30% 이하인 관측지점은 전체 관측지점의 87.3%로 나타났다. 본 연구는 고속도로 화물자동차 수요추정을 위한 차종별 고속도로 O/D 구축이라는 점에서 의미가 있으며, 고속도로 장래화물수요예측에 크게 기여할 것으로 판단된다.

Solar Influence on Tropical Cyclone in Western North Pacific Ocean

  • Solar activity is known to be linked to changes in the Earth's weather and climate. Nonetheless, for other types of extreme weather, such as tropical cyclones (TCs), the available evidence is less conclusive. In this study the modulation of TC genesis over the western North Pacific by the solar activity is investigated, in comparison with a large-scale environmental parameter, i.e., El-$Ni{\tilde{n}}o$-Southern Oscillation (ENSO). For this purpose, we have obtained the best track data for TCs in the western North Pacific from 1977 to 2016, spanning from the solar cycle 21 to the solar cycle 24. We have confirmed that in the El-$Ni{\tilde{n}}o$ periods TCs tend to form in the southeast, reach its maximum strength in the southeast, and end its life as TSs in the northeast, compared with the La-$Ni{\tilde{n}}o$ periods. TCs occurring in the El-$Ni{\tilde{n}}o$ periods are found to last longer compared with the La-$Ni{\tilde{n}}o$ periods. Furthermore, TCs occurring in the El-$Ni{\tilde{n}}o$ periods have a lower central pressure at their maximum strength than those occurring in the La-$Ni{\tilde{n}}o$ periods. We have found that TCs occurring in the solar maximum periods resemble those in the El-$Ni{\tilde{n}}o$ periods in their properties. We have also found that TCs occurring in the solar descending periods somehow resemble those in the El-$Ni{\tilde{n}}o$ periods in their properties. To make sure that it is not due to the ENSO effect, we have excluded TCs both in the El-$Ni{\tilde{n}}o$ periods and in the La-$Ni{\tilde{n}}o$ periods from the data set and repeated the analysis. In addition to this test, we have also reiterated our analysis twice with TCs whose maximum sustained winds speed exceeds 17 m/s, instead of 33 m/s, as well as TCs designated as a typhoon, which ends up with the same conclusions.

통행시간 추정을 위한 TCS 데이터의 전처리 모형 개발 (A Development of Preprocessing Models of Toll Collection System Data for Travel Time Estimation)

  • TCS (Toll Collection System) 데이터는 원시 데이터 자체로서도 구간의 교통상황을 어느 정도 반영할 수 있는 교통특 성을 내포하고 있다. 그러나 TCS 데이터에는 이상치가 포함되어 있어 이러한 데이터는 해당 구간의 통행시간을 대표한다고 볼 수 없으므로 만약 이러한 이상치들이 포함되어 있음에도 불구하고 제거하지 않고 집락을 한다면 이상치들로 인해 통행시간은 크게 왜곡 될 가능성이 있다. 특히 장거리 구간일수록 통행시간의 분산이 증가하여 동일구간 동일시간대라도 다양한 통행시간이 분포하고 있다. 구간이 길어질수록 통행시간의 변동이 심하여 적절한 통행시간 대푯값을 구하기가 어렵다. 따라서 TCS 자료를 이용하여 통행시간의 대푯값을 산정하기 위해서는 통행시간의 변동 특성을 파악하는 것이 중요하다. 본 연구에서는 TCS 데이터의 전처리 기법을 개선하되 구간의 길이와 교통상황에 따른 통행시간의 변동을 고려하여 TCS 원시데이터로부터 시 공간적 통행패턴을 파악할 수 있는 의미 있는 통행시간을 추출하고자 한다.

보현산천문대 1.8 m 망원경 제어시스템 현황 및 개선방안 (THE STATUS AND IMPROVEMENT PLAN OF 1.8 m TELESCOPE CONTROL SYSTEM AT BOAO)

  • We analyzed the current status of the telescope control system (TCS2) of the 1.8 m telescope in Bohyunsan Optical Astronomy Observatory (BOAO), and suggest a new TCS (TCS3) for the long term development of BOAO. The TCS2 was constructed in 1998 to replace the TCS1 which was installed with the telescope itself at the commencement of BOAO. One of the important parts of TCS is PMAC (Programmable Multi-Axis Controller), which is a general-purpose multi-axis motion controller. PMAC provides the direct interactive communication environment permitting users to command the controller directly with simple operations. This makes the setup, debugging, and diagnostics very easy. The TCS2 was operated stable for a long time, but the hardware and TCS computers have been deteriorated and are out of date now. The new TCS3 needs to be constructed based on a modern computer system. And functions such as pre-calculations of telescope limiting position, interworking with virtual observatory tools, and using GUI, etc should be added. Construction of the TCS3 will be a step creating a better observation environment for the Korean astronomical society.

기술발전 추이에 따른 열차제어장치의 개발방향 (A Study on the development strategy for TCS in technology context)

  • Signaling system, for which ensuring safe train operation, must be a fail-safe system with higher reliability and safety. TCS has made significant improvements both on signaling system, from relay based ground signaling system to computer based on-board system, and on driving mode, form low speed and low density driving to TCS supporting high speed and high density driving. In addition, TCS has been applied to rolling stock with a wide variety of context according to the characteristics of rolling stock or railway infrastructure. In this paper, therefore, we confirmed the basic concept of ATC system and analyzed its development process in technology context via referencing international cases and ATC systems introduced and applied in Korea. Based on those analyses, we suggested the new TCS development strategy for its suitable application to high speed line, conventional line and metro, and we also provided technical considerations related to TCS application.

The antibacterial effect of Endoseal TCS mixed with water-soluble mangostin derivatives of Garcinia mangostana L. ethanol extract against Enterococcus faecalis and Staphylococcus aureus

  • This study evaluated the antimicrobial activity of Endoseal TCS, an mineral trioxide aggregate-based root canal sealer, mixed with water-soluble mangostin derivatives (WsMD) of Garcinia mangostana L. (mangosteen) ethanol extract against Enterococcus faecalis and Staphylococcus aureus. The antibacterial activity of Endoseal TCS mixed with WsMD against three strains of E. faecalis and three strains of S. aureus was performed using agar diffusion test. The data showed that Endoseal TCS mixed with 0.115% WsMD had a zone of inhibition of 0.7 ± 0.2-2.4 ± 0.1 mm. The results suggest that Endoseal TCS mixed with WsMD of Garcinia mangostana L. ethanol extract is useful as a root canal sealer with antibacterial activity against E. faecalis and S. aureus.

지구자기장을 이용한 소구경 탄약 신관용 소형 회전수 계수 센서 (A miniaturized turn-counting sensor using geomagnetism for small-caliber ammunition fuzes)

  • This paper presents a miniaturized turn-counting sensor (TCS) where the geomagnetism and high-rpm rotation of ammunition are used to detect the turn number of ammunition for applications to small-caliber turn-counting fuzes. The TCS, composed of cores and a coil, has a robust structure with no moving part for increasing the shock survivability in the gunfire environments of ${\sim}30,000$ g's. The TCS is designed on the basis of the simulation results of an electromagnetic analysis tool, $Maxwell^{(R)}$3D. In experimental study, the static TCS test using a solenoid-coil apparatus and the dynamic TCS test (firing test) have been made. The presented TCS has shown that the induction voltage of $6.5{\;}mV_{P-P}$ is generated at the magnetic flux density of 0.05 mT and the rotational velocity of 30,000 rpm. From the measured signal, the TCS has shown the SNR of 44.0 dB, the nonlinearity of 0.59 % and the frequency-normalized sensitivity of $0.26{\pm}0.01{\;}V/T{\cdot}Hz$ in the temperature range of $-30{\sim}+43^{\circ}C$. Firing test has shown that the TCS can be used as a turn-counting sensor for small-caliber ammunition, verifying the shock survivability of TCS in high-g environments.

무선통신기반 열차제어시스템 상호운영성 연구 (Investigation of Radio Communications-based Train Control System with Interoperability)

  • 연구는 무선통신기반 열차제어시스템의 상호운영성(interoperability)을 확보하기 위하여 열차제어와 관련된 위험원 분석, 열차제어시스템의 기능요구사항 설정 및 차상과 지상ATP(Automatic Train Protection)장치의 기능배치를 포함하고 있다. 개방형 무선통신기술을 활용하고, 지상과 차상에서 수행되는 열차제어시스템의 기능배치를 표준화화여 상호운영성을 확보할 수 있으며, 이를 통하여 철도망의 통합운영체계를 구축할 수 있다. 상호운영성을 지원하는 열차제어시스템의 기능을 지상과 차상에 배치하기 위해서는 위험원 분석과 시스템 요구사항 정의를 필요로 한다. 열차제어시스템의 위험원으로 열차안전간격제어와 열차제한속도초과를 설정하여 위험원 요인을 확인하였다. 또한 위험원 요인이 열차제어시스템에 미치는 영향을 확인하고 열차제어시스템의 하부장치의 기능요구사항과 ATP의 지상기능과 차상기능 배치를 정의하였다.

고속도로 교통수요모형 구축을 위한 유전자 알고리즘 기반 TCS 차종별 최적 승용차환산계수 산정 (Estimation of Optimal Passenger Car Equivalents of TCS Vehicle Types for Expressway Travel Demand Models Using a Genetic Algorithm)

  • PURPOSES : The Toll Collection System (TCS) operated by the Korea Expressway Corporation provides accurate traffic counts between tollgates within the expressway network under the closed-type toll collection system. However, although origin-destination (OD) matrices for a travel demand model can be constructed using these traffic counts, these matrices cannot be directly applied because it is technically difficult to determine appropriate passenger car equivalent (PCE) values for the vehicle types used in TCS. Therefore, this study was initiated to systematically determine the appropriate PCE values of TCS vehicle types for the travel demand model. METHODS : To search for the appropriate PCE values of TCS vehicle types, a traffic demand model based on TCS-based OD matrices and the expressway network was developed. Using the traffic demand model and a genetic algorithm, the appropriate PCE values were optimized through an approach that minimizes errors between actual link counts and estimated link volumes. RESULTS : As a result of the optimization, the optimal PCE values of TCS vehicle types 1 and 5 were determined to be 1 and 3.7, respectively. Those of TCS vehicle types 2 through 4 are found in the manual for the preliminary feasibility study. CONCLUSIONS : Based on the given vehicle delay functions and network properties (i.e., speeds and capacities), the travel demand model with the optimized PCE values produced a MAPE value of 37.7%, RMSE value of 17124.14, and correlation coefficient of 0.9506. Conclusively, the optimized PCE values were revealed to produce estimates of expressway link volumes sufficiently close to actual link counts.
