In this study, 3D-NIT(3-Dimensional Numerical Irregular wave Tank) model in which regular wave as well as stable irregular wave can be generated in 3-dimensional numerical irregular wave tank was proposed. To verify validity, the following steps need to be conducted: 1) comparative analysis between calculated waveforms and targeted waveforms at the wave generating point, 2) comparative analysis with the existing experimental values of overtopping volume estimated, targeting shore protection structures installed on a slope bed, 3) comparison with the existing numerical and hydraulic experimental results through application in the analysis on the wave deformation by structures and wave force acting on the vertical cylindrical structures. Based on the results, characteristics of the breaking wave forces according to incident waves and interval distance of structures were identified through application of 3D-NIT model in the analysis on the breaking wave forces acting on the cylindrical structures installed on a slope bed, and reflection and overtopping was reviewed through application in the special breakwaters on the domestic fields. The numerical results obtained the 3D-NIT model are in good agreement with experimental results, and its applicaion to the complex-shpaed coastal structures is verified.

This study was conducted to predict the tendency for heat exchange and boil-off gas (BOG) in a liquefied hydrogen tank under sloshing excitation. First, athe fluid domain excited by sloshing was modeled using a multiphase-thermal flow domain in which liquid hydrogen and hydrogen gas are in the saturated state. Both the the volume of fluid (VOF) and Eulerian-based multi-phase flow methods were applied to validate the accuracy of the pressure prediction. Second, it was indirectly shown that the fluid velocity prediction could be accurate by comparing the free surface and impact pressure from the computational fluid dynamics with those from the experimental results. Thereafter, the heat ingress from the external convective heat flux was reflected on the outer surfaces of the hydrogen tank. Eulerian-based multiphase-heat flow analysis was performed for a two-dimensional Type-C cylindrical hydrogen tank under rotational sloshing motion, and an inflation technique was applied to transform the fluid domain into a computational grid model. The heat exchange and heat flux in the hydrogen liquid-gas mixture were calculated throughout the analysis,, whereas the mass transfer and vaporization models were excluded to account for the pure heat exchange between the liquid and gas in the saturated state. In addition, forced convective heat transfer by sloshing on the inner wall of the tank was not reflected so that the heat exchange in the multiphase flow of liquid and gas could only be considered. Finally, the effect of sloshing on the amount of heat exchange between liquid and gas hydrogen was discussed. Considering the heat ingress into liquid hydrogen according to the presence/absence of a sloshing excitation, the amount of heat flux and BOG were discussed for each filling ratio.

Numerical implementation with a Cartesian cut-cell method is conducted in this study. A Cartesian cut-cell method is an easy and efficient mesh generation methodology for complex geometries. In this method, a background Cartesian grid is employed for most of computational domain and a cut-cell grid is applied for the peculiar grids where the flow characteristics are changed such as solid boundary to enhance the accuracy, applicability and efficiency. Accurate representation of complex geometries can be obtained by using the cut-cell method. The cut-cell grids are constructed with irregular meshes which have various shape and size. Therefore, the finite volume method is applied to numerical discretization on a irregular domain. The HLLC approximate Riemann solver, a Godunov-type finite volume method, is employed to discretize the advection terms in the governing equations. The weighted average flux method applied on the Cartesian cut cell grid for stabilization of the numerical results. To validate the numerical model using the Cartesian cut-cell grids, the model is applied to the rectangular tank problem of which the exact solutions exist. As a comparison of numerical results with the analytical solutions, the numerical scheme well represents flow characteristics such as free surface elevation and velocities in x-and y-directions in a rectangular tank with the Cartesian and cut-cell grids.
In recent, the using of the hydraulic filling method has increased on the underground reinforcement of the abandoned mine in Korea, however it is the lack of research on the efficient filling method. In this study, tank model tests and field tests were conducted for development of tip device for filling efficiency improvements on the hydraulic filling method. In tank model experiments, the filling efficiency was evaluated according to the form and angle of the nozzle on tip device in the same condition. Then tip device model designed by tank model tests was applied to the field experiment. As a result, the amount of filling of nozzle $90^{\circ}$ tube is increased by approximately 18% compared to the common vertical injection pipe. The angle of repose was $30.82^{\circ}$. Filling hole spacing in the field is usually designed from 5m up to 10m assumed to be $40^{\circ}$ of the angle of repose. According to the results of this study, it is possible that the filling hole spacing expands at least 10m up to 15m applied to be $30^{\circ}{\sim}35^{\circ}$ of the angle of repose. Therefore, it is expected to be economical and efficient mine filling.
The purpose of this research was to develop and present methods to detect sinkholes which can exist underneath the surface of the ground. First, we buried a water tank with dimensions $1.8{\times}0.8{\times}0.8m$ at a distance of 1.8 m from the surface. This played the role of the sinkhole. Secondly, we created a square zone with sides 12 meters away from the buried water tank. Within this zone, we measured the gravity at 1-meter intervals using a Scintrex CG5 relative gravimeter with a resolution of 0.001 mGal. Additionally, we performed three-dimensional (3-D) gravity modeling to calculate the theoretical values of the relative gravity around our model sinkhole. The resulting values for the relative gravity around the sinkhole depended on the method used. The measured effect of gravity was 0.036 mGal and the effect calculated using 3-D modeling was 0.024 mGal. Our results suggest that sinkholes that are similar in size to the water tank used in this study can be detected using relative gravity surveys. Smaller sinkholes can be detected by reducing the intervals between the relative gravity measurements.

The model ice is created at KRISO (Korea Research Institute for Ships and Ocean Engineering) ice basin where model ship is tested to obtain the necessary data in order to design the ice breaking vessels and ocean structures operating in the northern pole sea area. Through the model ship test, ice breaking, clearing, ice-ship and ice-propeller interaction behavior can be obtained. Since mechanical properties of ice plate are required for the model test, some tests are performed to obtain the properties in this paper. First, ultrasonic devide is used to measure the thickness of the model ice plate and the results show the possibility of using ultrasonic method, yet more sophisticated device or special sensors are required to measure the ice thickness completely. And the defection of ice plate is measured using LVDT to compute the characteristic length of ice plate on the fluid, which is used to get the effective Young's modulus of model ice.
In this study, the resistance performances of barge are analyzed by model tests and computation using CFD to investigate the flow characteristics around a barge in still water. The model tests are carried out in infinite depth in Inha Technical College Circulation Tank to observe the resistance and the numerical simulations based on VOF(Volume of Fluid) method are performed to analyze the flow around the barge. We have selected two barge models to investigate the flow characteristics according to the different type of barges. The experiments are carried out with the models from 5kts to 10kts(designed speed 7kts) considering the effect of adverse and favorable current. The numerical simulations are performed to analyze the flow and resistance characteristics of barge in the full loaded condition with the target speed and compared with the experimental data to confirm the reliability of the numerical method. The result was that the difference of resistance with 25% occurred at low speed and EHP increased rapidly from 7kts.
There are the C.W.C and Towing Tank to the model-test equipments of the boat. A model testing of the high speed boat have a difficult in the performance verification because of very a small the scale-ratio of the ship-model and restricted by flow-velocity of the C.W.C and X-carriage velocity of the T.T. In general, the stepped hull boat is a high of fuel-efficiency because of the resistance reduction by a small wetted surface-area in correspond without stepped-hull boat. But It have a tendency to be bad the rolling performance by reduced stern wetted-area In this paper, the high speed stepped planning-boats with & without attached a stern body were performed to compare the effect of resistance and rolling performance by using sea model-test method.
Ultrasound is known to be harmless to the human body and is widely used in obstetrics and gynecology to confirm the diagnosis and development status of fetus. Diagnosis Although long - term use of ultrasound may cause changes in body temperature, studies on the uterine temperature changes due to ultrasound have been lacking. The purpose of this study was to investigate the change of temperature according to ultrasonic scanning time using a self - produced uterine model phantom. Ultrasound equipment and a 4MHz convex probe were used to construct the uterine model phantom similar to the human uterus using acrylic and pig uterus, which are tissue equivalents. Three probe type thermometers were installed to measure the inside of the acrylic water tank, the uterus, and the atmospheric temperature. The temperature of the uterine phantom was ascertained by measuring the temperature of the subject for 6 hours, 361 times. In this study, the possibility of human body temperature elevation due to ultrasound could be confirmed and this study will be used as the basic data of ultrasonic heat absorption study.

이러한 실정을 고려하여 한국건설기술연구원과 SEI-B(Stockholm Environment Institute-Boston Center)가 공동으로 개발한 통합수자원평가계획모형인 K-WEAP(Korea-Water Evaluation And Planning System) 을 이용하여 물수지 분석하였다.
