Objective: Low fat duck meat sausages were prepared by replacing the fat in the formulations with soy protein isolate (SPI) and inulin to find the best formulation having superior shelf-life without affecting its quality attributes. Methods: Four sausage mix formulations were prepared viz.control (0% SPI and inulin), T1 (2.5% inulin), T2 (2.5% SPI), and T3 (2.5% SPI+2.5% inulin) replacing duck fat as per the recipe. Five batches of duck meat sausages of each formulation were prepared, and the final products were evaluated for physico-chemical, organoleptic, and microbiological qualities. Results: The % moisture and crude protein content of the sausages revealed an increasing trend (p<0.01) from control to the treated formulations, while the % total ash contents were found to be non-significant (p>0.05). On the contrary, the per cent ether extract decreased significantly (p<0.01) from the control to the treated groups. In terms of calorie value, control samples exhibited the highest values with a significant (p<0.01) regression from control to treated formulation, respectively. The colour profile study (L, a*, b*) of the formulations were found to be non-significant. Texture profile study in terms of springiness, cohesiveness, chewiness, and resilience revealed no significant difference in all the treatment groups except the hardness scores, which revealed a significantly (p<0.01) increasing trend from control to the treated formulations. The total viable count showed a significant decrease in the treated groups. However, there was a significant increase in the bacterial load during the storage till day 15th. The total viable psychrophilic bacterial count showed a significant (p<0.01) increase in bacterial load from day 5th to 15th day of storage. Colititre counts were negative for all the formulations until the 15th day of storage. Conclusion: The present study results may conclude that duck meat sausages could be prepared satisfactorily by replacing duck fat with SPI and inulin at the rate of 2.5% of each with superior quality attributes.
A formulation for the dynamic stability analysis of cylindrical shells resting on elastic foundations is presented. In this previously not studied problem, a normal-mode expansion of the partial differential equations of motion, which includes the effects of the foundation as well as a harmonic axial loading, yields a system of Mathieu-Hill equations the stability of which is analyzed using Bolotin's method. The present study examines the effects of the elastic foundation on the instability regions of the cylindrical shell for the transverse, longitudinal and circumferential modes.

In this work we consider the mathematical formulation and numerical resolution of the linear feedback control problem for Boussinesq equations. The controlled Boussinesq equations is given by $$\frac{{\partial}u}{{\partial}t}-{\nu}{\Delta}u+(u{\cdot}{\nabla}u+{\nabla}p={\beta}{\theta}g+f+F\;\;in\;(0,\;T){\times}\;{\Omega}$$, $${\nabla}{\cdot}u=0\;\;in\;(0,\;T){\times}{\Omega}$$, $$u|_{{\partial}{\Omega}=0,\;u(0,x)=\;u_0(x)$$$$\frac{{\partial}{\theta}}{{\partial}t}-k{\Delta}{\theta}+(u{\cdot}){\theta}={\tau}+T,\;\;in(0,\;T){\times}{\Omega}$$$${\theta}|_{{\partial}{\Omega}=0,\;\;{\theta}(0,X)={\theta}_0(X)$$, where $\Omega$ is a bounded open set in $R^{n}$, n=2 or 3 with a $C^{\infty}$ boundary ${\partial}{\Omega}$. The control is achieved by means of a linear feedback law relating the body forces to the velocity and temperature field, i.e., $$f=-{\gamma}_1(u-U),\;\;{\tau}=-{\gamma}_2({\theta}-{\Theta}}$$ where (U,$\Theta$) are target velocity and temperature. We show that the unsteady solutions to Boussinesq equations are stabilizable by internal controllers with exponential decaying property. In order to compute (approximations to) solution, semi discrete-in-time and full space-time discrete approximations are also studied. We prove that the difference between the solution of the discrete problem and the target solution decay to zero exponentially for sufficiently small time step.
This paper deals with the modal analysis of rotational shell structures by means of the numerical solution technique known as the Generalized Differential Quadrature (G. D. Q.) method. The treatment is conducted within the Reissner first order shear deformation theory (F. S. D. T.) for linearly elastic isotropic shells. Starting from a non-linear formulation, the compatibility equations via Principle of Virtual Works are obtained, for the general shell structure, given the internal equilibrium equations in terms of stress resultants and couples. These equations are subsequently linearized and specialized for the rotational geometry, expanding all problem variables in a partial Fourier series, with respect to the longitudinal coordinate. The procedure leads to the fundamental system of dynamic equilibrium equations in terms of the reference surface kinematic harmonic components. Finally, a one-dimensional problem, by means of a set of five ordinary differential equations, in which the only spatial coordinate appearing is the one along meridians, is obtained. This can be conveniently solved using an appropriate G. D. Q. method in meridional direction, yielding accurate results with an extremely low computational cost and not using the so-called "delta-point" technique.

This paper demonstrates that the largest Lyapunov exponent λ of recurrent neural networks can be controlled efficiently by a stochastic gradient method. An essential core of the proposed method is a novel stochastic approximate formulation of the Lyapunov exponent λ as a function of the network parameters such as connection weights and thresholds of neural activation functions. By a gradient method, a direct calculation to minimize a square error (λ - λ$\^$obj/)$^2$, where λ$\^$obj/ is a desired exponent value, needs gradients collection through time which are given by a recursive calculation from past to present values. The collection is computationally expensive and causes unstable control of the exponent for networks with chaotic dynamics because of chaotic instability. The stochastic formulation derived in this paper gives us an approximation of the gradients collection in a fashion without the recursive calculation. This approximation can realize not only a faster calculation of the gradient, but also stable control for chaotic dynamics. Due to the non-recursive calculation. without respect to the time evolutions, the running times of this approximation grow only about as N$^2$ compared to as N$\^$5/T that is of the direct calculation method. It is also shown by simulation studies that the approximation is a robust formulation for the network size and that proposed method can control the chaos dynamics in recurrent neural networks efficiently.

As conventional grouting materials for the sheath such as cement slurry or cement-mortar are mixed and pumped in site, those harden with bleeding or shrinkage and meets low compressive strength. Also the materials haven't always same cements, sand size distributions, additives in site, so those materials have unstable quality properties. We have studies on ready-mixed-mortar for grouting pretensioned or post-tensioned cables and rods to encapsulate the steel so that we have developed a formulation of specially selected, flowable, shrinkage-compensating materials.
Many studies have been attempted to overcome the problems of paclitaxel related to the extremely low aqueous solubility of paclitaxel and the unexpected side-effects caused by $Cremophor^{\circledR}$ EL in a commercial paclitaxel formulation, $Taxol^{\circledR}$. In order to formulate a new delivery system suitable for intravenous administration without toxic excipients, in this study, paclitaxel was incorporated into solid lipid nanoparticles (Px-SLN) by hot homogenization technique using a microfluidizer. Particle size and zeta potential were measured by a Zetasizer. In vitro drug release experiment was performed by a dialysis diffusion method. Each Px-SLN or $Taxol^{\circledR}$ was intravenously administered to the male Sprague-Dawley rats at a dose of 5 mg/kg as paclitaxel. Blood samples were deproteinated with acetonitrile and assayed for paclitaxel by the validated HPLC/MS/MS method. Mean particle size and zeta potential were measured as 72.1 nm (< Polydispersity 0.3) and -41.5 mV, respectively. The content of paclitaxel in SLN was 1.42 mg/ml and the drug loading efficiency was $71.2{\pm}4.3%$. The $AUC_t$ of Px-SLN was 3.4-fold greater than that of $Taxol^{\circledR}$. The Px-SLN might be a promising candidate for an alternative formulation for the parenteral delivery of paclitaxel.
A composite model is used to represent the heterogeneity of plain concrete consisting of coarse aggregates, mortar matrix and the mortar-aggregate interface. The composite elements of plain concrete are modeled using triangular finite element units which have six interface nodes along the sides. Fracture is captured through a constitutive single branch softening-fracture law at the interface nodes, which bounds the elastic domain inside each triangular unit. The inelastic displacement at an interface node represents the crack opening or sliding displacement and is conjugate to the internodal force. The path-dependent softening behaviour is developed within a quasi-prescribed displacement control formulation. The crack profile is restricted to the interface boundaries of the defined mesh. No re-meshing is carried out. Solutions to the rate formulation are obtained using a mathematical programming procedure in the form of a linear complementary problem. An event by event solution strategy is adopted to eliminate solutions with simultaneous formation of softening zones in symmetric problems. The composite plain concrete model is compared to experimental results for the tensile crack growth in a Brazilian test and three-point bending tests on different sized specimens. The model is also used to simulate wedge-type shear-compression failure directly under the loading platen of a Brazilian test.
This paper provides a numerical solution for a finite internally cracked plate using hybrid crack element method (HCE). In the formulation, an inclined crack is placed in any place of a rectangular element and the complex variable method is used. The complex potentials are expressed in a series form, and several undetermined coefficients are involved. The complex potentials for the cracked rectangle are first suggested in this paper. Based on a variational principle, the element stiffness matrix can be evaluated. The next steps are same as in the usual finite element method. Several numerical examples with computed stress intensity factor and T-stress are presented.
This study was performed to confirm of characteristics of Sulgidduk containing different amounts of black garlic extract: 0% (T0), 1% (T1), 5% (T5), 10% (T10) or 15% (T15). Samples were analyzed for their physicochemical characteristics and antioxidant activities. According to the results, increasing the level of black garlic extract in the formulation caused the moisture contents of the sample to decrease (38.66~36.79%). Additionally, the L value decreased while the a and b values increased as the contents of black garlic extract in sample increased. Analysis of the texture of Sulgidduk containing different amounts of black garlic extract, found that hardness, gumminess, and adhesiveness decreased, whereas springiness increased; cohesiveness and chewiness did not significantly change. The antioxidant activities of Sulgidduk containing different amounts of black garlic extract were evaluated by measuring 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) and, 2,2'-azino-bis-3-ethylbenzthiazoline-6-sulfonic acid (ABTS) radical scavenging activities. In these assays, the Sulgidduk containing different amounts of black garlic extract presented significant radical scavenging activities in a dose-dependent manner.
