벽면 녹화가 실내 온열환경 및 이산화탄소 농도 조절에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Green Wall System Controling Indoor Thermal Environments and Carbon Dioxide)

  • Importance of energy consumptions has being emphasized because of problems of the energy and environment. So, recently, green wall systems have been installed to reduce building energy consumptions. The green wall systems provide several benefits; they make it possible to maintain moderate thermal comforts by greenery. Greening such a surface wall in the building by plants, the temperature of the wall can be properly controlled that purifies the air and improves the view spanning over the space. This study evaluated the effects of green wall systems on reducing room temperature quantitatively, changing of humidity, decreasing of $CO_2$. Test results were confirmed; first, the space installed by green walls showed that temperature and $CO_2$ decreased and humidity was increased. Second, two structures were compared with the solar radiation, and green wall systems controlled the temperature and humidity stably near the wall regardless of the amount solar radiation. In conclusion, the green wall systems can contribute to thermal comforts and indoor air quality in the buildings.

농촌어메니티 자원조사 연구 (Rural Amenity Resources Survey)

  • Due to the dramatic industrialization in Korea, rural area has been degraded with incurable problems including community aging, emptying and liabilities overburdens. Rural amenity, the intangible resources that the rural area itself has, is regarded as a breakthrough that can revitalize the rural communities. In fact, the rural area and communities have lots of amenity resources that have been overlooked. Rural area has kept traditions and open green spaces which are highlighted in these days since the life quality has been upgraded and working days in a week was cut off to 5 days. Institute of Rural Resources Development realized the importance of rural amenities and offered the nation wide survey project for rural amenity resources. In this article, the survey project that was implemented by the Korean Society of Rural Planning was narrated in terms of methodologies and procedures. Also the results and the problems were addressed.

  • 본 연구는 전구 탄도미사일 방어(TBMD)를 위한 협동교전의 기능아키텍처 도출에 관한 논문이다. TBMD는 다층으로 구성되며 네트워크 기반의 센서체계, 슈터체계, 그리고 전장관리체계로 구성되는 복합시스템이다. 협동교전능력은 대표적인 실시간 전장관리체계이며, 협동교전능력의 핵심기능은 협동교전이다. 협동교전은 두 개 이상의 분산된 자산의 통합을 통해 얻어진 시너지 효과로 위협을 제거하는 전투개념이다. 이러한 관점에서 본 논문은 개념 분석을 통해 TBMD의 협동교전 기능아키텍처를 제시하였으며, 이는 협동교전 기반의 TBMD 전투체계를 개발하기 위한 선행연구로서 수행되었다.

A Study on the Dynamic Analysis of Mooring System During Hook-up Installation

  • This study evaluated the Hook-up installation of an offshore site construction process, which is the final step in an offshore site installation process. During Hook-up installation, the offshore structure can have a detrimental effect on the work stability due to low-frequency motion. Moreover, economic costs can be incurred by the increase in available days of a tugboat. Therefore, this study developed a numerical analysis program to assess the dynamic behavior of mooring systems during hook-up installation to analyze the generally performed installation process and determine when the tugboat should be released. In this program, the behavior of an offshore structure was calculated using Cummin's time-domain motion equation, and the mooring system was calculated by Lumped mass method (LMM). In addition, a tugboat algorithm for hook-up installation was developed to apply the Hook-up procedure. The model used in the calculations was the barge type assuming FPSO (Floating production storage and off-loading) and has a taut mooring system connected to 16 mooring lines. The results of the simulation were verified by comparing with both MOSES, which is a commercial program, and a calculation method for restoring coefficient matrix, which was introduced by Patel and Lynch (1982). Finally, the offset of the structure according to the number of tugboats was calculated using the hook-up simulation, and the significant value was used to represent the calculation result.

  • This paper presents an open architecture controller (OAC) for machining systems and describes the OAC testbed at Seoul National University. Because our OAC is designed for fully open systems, it does not depend on any specific hardware or software components. This openness includes software reusability which enables integration of a wide range of monitoring and control features. In addition to openness, our OAC system provides guaranteed real-time performance, an important requirement for advanced manufacturing.

  • Most important to financial institutions is to provide well designed and built services to the customers by accessing their core bank systems and affiliated systems in their partners. This will be essential to introduce new products and services and still be able to count on legacy and collaborative affiliated systems. Winning the war on such service competitions among financial institutions is attainable by seizing the "e-bank" opportunities in B2Bi and CRM (Customer Relationship Management). Such application integrations among systems and "e-bank" services need to be available in the new IT environment. In this article, an If and service architecture adopting unified e-business services platform is proposed. This architecture is able to achieve application integrations among legacy, affiliated, and e-business systems and services. We derive an architecture in unified e-business services platform by investigating current and future e-business services platforms involved in domestic and global international banks. Several financial interchange standards which are involved in B2B business of e-procurement, e-placement, e-payment are also investigated.

대학 정보기술 아키텍처 발전방향에 관한 연구: 국내 대학 사례를 중심으로 (The Evolution of IT architecture in Universities: A Case study of Korean Domestic Universities)

  • 최근 대학들도 업무 활동을 수행함에 있어서, 구성원인 교수, 학생, 직원 등에게 즉각적이고, 유용하며 효율적인 정보를 제공하고자 중장기적인 대학정보화 계획을 수립하고 있다. 대학정보화의 개념은 초기에는 컴퓨터를 기반으로 한 사무자동화 수준에서 시작하였으나, 현재는 행정정보화 및 교육정보화까지 발전하였으며, 또한 가상 대학까지 범위를 확장하고 있는 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 1991년과 2001년 동안 국내에서 수행되어진 대학정보화 사례 중 연대기적 중요성에 따라 3개의 대학을 선정하여, 대학정 보화에 대한 경험적인 분석과 보완적인 사례 연구를 수행하였다. 각 대학들을 정보기술 아키텍처 관점 에서 정보 아키텍처, 인프라 아키텍처, 정보관리 아키텍처별로 비교하고, 정보기술 아키텍처의 진화가 대학정보화의 발전에 미치는 영향을 고려하였다. 사례 연구 대상 대학들은 고객중심의 패러다임에서 시장경쟁력을 확보하고 우수 대학으로 발전할 수 있는 기회를 위해, 대학정보화를 통하여 교육 촉진, 연구 촉진, 행정 효율화를 추구하고자 하였으며, 아직은 정보관리 부분이 미비한 것으로 나타났다. 정보 관리 부분의 미비 사항을 극복하기 위해서는 대학 실무자, 관리자, 교수들이 정보시스템의 성공적인 구축 및 유지와 관련된 이슈들을 이해하는 것이 필요하며, 본 연구는 향후대학 정보화 프로젝트를 진흥하는 촉매로서의 역할을 수행할 것이다.

중소기업을 위한 최종 사용자 컴퓨팅 PDM 시스템 개발 (Developing an End-User Computing PDM System for Small and Medium Business)

  • This paper proposes a Product Data Management (PDM) system architecture that supports end-user computing for small and medium businesses (SMBs) in Korea to build and maintain efficient and sustainable information systems for their product development. Its open database with relational tables enables existing common application programs such as Microsoft office suites to access product data in PDM systems. In addition, the interactive query processor provided by database management systems helps design engineers to build ad hoc queries in standard SQL database language to response different data requirements during their product development. The PDM architecture with the open database allows design engineers or technical staffs in SMBs to build and maintain their application programs for product development by themselves. To show the feasibility of the proposed architecture, this study implemented a prototype PDM system based on the architecture and database, and represents real-world product data with the implemented PDM system.

  • A robust adaptive tracking control architecture is proposed for a class of continuous-time nonlinear dynamic systems for which an explicit linear parameterization of the uncertainty in the dynamics is either unknown or impossible. The architecture employs an adaptive fuzzy system to compensate for the uncertainty of the plant. In order to improve the robustness under approximation errors and disturbances, the proposed architecture includes deadzone in adaptation laws. Unlike the previously proposed schemes, the magnitude of approximate errors and disturbances is not required in the determination of the deadzone size, since it is estimated using the adaptation law. The proposed algorithm is proven to be globally stable in the Lyapunov sense, with tracking errors converging to the proposed architecture.

Fatigue Analysis of 306K Crude Oil Tanker Based on MSC Fatigue

  • Fatigue in the metal used as hull material has always been an important issue. The fatigue phenomenongenerally occurs suddenly in a ship hull, and always causesa large number of casualties and economic losses. This paper presents a study of an assessment method for the fatigue life based on Li’s approach using MSC Fatigue. The details of Li’s approach based on MSC Fatigue are provided. Based on the results of this study, it can be concluded that Li’s approach has several advantages: (1) it allows the wide application of different structural details, (2) is easy to use, and (3) provides accurate results. Finally, Li’s approach can be proven to be feasible for a ship’s fatigue analysis.
