The Empirical Analysis on the relevancy between the IT competency of the Group Enterprises, and the IT Service Firms' Management Performance (국내 대형 그룹사 IT수준 및 계열 IT서비스사 경영 성과의 관련성에 관한 실증 연구)

  • In this paper, we analyse empirically the relation between the IT competency of the Group enterprises, and the management performance of the subsidiary IT service firms in Korea. The 24 IT service firms and relative Group enterprises are included for analysis. The various hypotheses established are validated by t-test method statistically. The results shows that IT competency level of the Group enterprises was affected by not only their sales volumes, new investment volume of IT service, but system management(SM) and inner captive market's sales volume of subsidiary IT service firms also. Additionally the sales volume of IT service firms was affected positively by their inner-captive market's sales, system management sales volume, and the sales volume of their Group enterprise. The service competency of the subsidiary IT service firms is shown as more high in the lower intensity of outer-captive and system integration(SI) business, as well as in the upper intensity of inner-captive and SI business.

  • By supporting wireless communication technology, there is gradually expansion of the commercial application for Wireless Local Loop(WLL) technology, which is to replace existing telephone line with wireless one. The WLL system application helps a operator to have merits of the installation and maintenance of line and also a subscriber to make a high speed value-added service. As mentioned above reasons for both sides, many manufactories and operators are concerned with development and application respectively. This paper presents hardware implementation of Radio Port Controller(RPC) and also describes the system configuration, functions, and Inter Processor Communication(IPC) structure of RPC. We performed inter-module communication test via IPC backplane bus. And inter-module integration test also completed through data communication and signal waveform measurement repeatedly.

A Study on Particulate Matter Reduction Effects of Vegetation Bio-Filters by Airflow Volume (공조풍량별 식생바이오필터의 입자상 오염물질 저감효과 연구)

  • As the influence of fine dust on society spreads gradually, the public's interest in indoor air is increasingly rising. Air-purifying plants are drawing keen attention due to their natural purifying function enabled by plant physiology. However, as their fine dust reduction mechanism is limited to adsorption only, vegetation bio-filters that optimize purification effects through integration with air-conditioning systems is rising as an alternative. In accordance with the relevant standard test methods, this study looked into the fine dust reduction assessment method by air-conditioning airflow volume that can be used for the industrial spread of vegetation bio-filters. In the case of PM10 at 300 ㎍/m3, it was in the order of EG-B(3,500CMH, 29 min.) < EG-A (2,500CMH, 37 min.) < CG(0CMH, 64 min.) for reaching the maintenance level (100 ㎍/m3) of publicly used facilities. For reaching the WHO Guideline(50 ㎍/m3) requirement, it was in the order of EG-B (51 min.) < EG-A (160 min.) < CG (170 min.). In the case of PM2.5, it was in the order of EG-B (26 min.) < EG-A (33 min.) < CG (57 min.) for reaching the maintenance level (50 ㎍/m3) of publicly used facilities. It was in the order of EG-B (48 min) < EG-A (140 min) < CG (158 min) for reaching the WHO Guideline (25 ㎍/m3) requirement. The findings from the analysis showed that fine dust can be reduced most efficiently when the system is operated at 3,500CMH level. The limitation of this study is that due to the absence of a way of assessing the stress of plants in vegetation bio-filters, generating optimal air-conditioning air flow of the relevant system and economics analysis against the existing facility-type air purification system have been clarified, which should be explored further though follow-up studies.

  • In this paper, the development and performance analysis of a fuel cell-powered unmanned aerial vehicle is described. A fuel cell system featuring 1 kW proton exchange membrane fuel cell combined with a highly pressurized fuel supply system is proposed. For the higher fuel consumption efficiency and simplification of overall system, dead-end type operation is chosen and each individual system such as purge system, fuel supply system, cooling system is developed. Considering that fluctuation of exterior load makes it hard to stabilize fuel cell performance, the power management system is designed using a fuel cell and lithium-ion battery hybrid system. After integration of individual system, the performance of unmanned aerial vehicle is analyzed using data from flight and laboratory test. In the result, overall system was properly operated but for more duration of flight, research on weight lighting and improvement of fuel efficiency is needed to be progressed.

  • The railway signalling system plays an essential role in the headway and routing control for a safe and efficient train operation. The reliable and safe operation of the system is very important because the failure of the railway signalling system can lead to the collision, derailment, or unexpected stop of a train. So far, the conventional wayside signal mode (ATS: Automatic Train Stop) has been generally used as the railway signalling system. However, this system is highly linked to a risk of major accidents resulted from human mistakes such as missing a signal or careless control of train speed. Accordingly, the onboard signal mode (ATC: Automatic Train Control) as an alternative of ATS has been recently introduced and applied to transmit effectively the information on speed control of a train by using computers and communication equipment. In the process of replacing the obsolete signal system, it is necessary to switch over the system while providing passengers with normal services. Therefore, the integration of a railway signaling system compatible for both ATS and ATC and its interface is discussed in this study. In particular, the implementation scenario required for operation planning of the integrated system was designed, and the results as well as effects of its applicability test were also presented.

  • The purpose of this study is to develop the effective customized elderly fashion marketing process based on the web site, where older customer will be able to choose various fabrics and to try them out. This aims to establish new prototype of internet shopping mall for customized elderly fashion clothing. In this study, new method of product presentation on the online shopping mall is proposed to offer product information through 3D virtual reality. With the online shopping mall(SATC Mall) as a showcase, we presented virtual mapping system so that it enable the customers to select the fabrics and to see exactly how chosen fabric will look when applied to image of clothing. As an initial test of the application of simulation to measure 3D visualization of product, mapping software Vision Easy Map Pro Version 6.0(NedGraphics) Vision Easy Map Viewer Version 5.0(NedGraphics) were chosen and applied. By using this mapping system, the fabric change of the apparel product could be made on the internet shopping web site. However, this approach has been successful applied for presenting and customizing garment products. Future research will focus on the integration of mapping coordination into SATC Mall.

  • Internet Data is hugely increased for high quality multimedia services and the related techniques is also developed rapidly. This paper is aimed to develop integrated internet data and Digital-Television receiving system with high performance and optimization, which is obtained by one-board integration with load control. It is applicable to various devices like computer, set-top box, home multimedia gateway etc. The performance is proved by evaluation test. It shows that the developed device can be TV tuner and internet AP for more robust multimedia services.

A Design of Press Die Components by Use of 3D CAD Library (3차원 CAD라이브러리를 이용한 프레스 금형 부품의 설계)

  • Using standard components of a press die is recognized as a way for a cost reduction and a short lead time. It also provides a way for a quick maintenance of a die under repair. It is expected to contribute to integration of CAD/CAM system for manufacturing dies in the future. This paper presents a 3D CAD library which is constructed using the standard components and is used for designing a press die. This 3D CAD library is generated by a database system made of Microsoft Access for standard components and by CATIA V5 R10 API for geometric features. The library is implemented using Visual Basic 6.0 utility of CATIA API function in the Windows NT environment. It creates a 3D model of the standard components of press die easily when a die designer inputs numerical values of geometric features and the BOM of the completely assembled parts. It also generates automatically the assembly drawing of die set by using variables for standard values of die parts. Therefore users can save the cost of time to design the press die components, and even a beginner can use this program with ease. The test results of the 3D CAD library for designing shearing and bending dies verify its usefulness and feasibility.

A Feasibility Study on DC Microgrids Considering Energy Efficiency (에너지 효율분석을 통한 DC 마이크로그리드의 타당성 검토)

  • More than 80% of electric loads need DC electricity rather than AC at the moment. If DC power could be supplied directly to the terminal loads, power conversion stages including rectifiers, converters, and power adapters can be reduced or simplified. Therefore, DC microgrids may be able to improve energy efficiency of power distribution systems. In addition, DC microgrids can increase the penetration level of renewable energy resources because many renewable energy resources such as solar photovoltaic(PV) generators, fuel cells, and batteries generate electric power in the form of DC power. The integration of the DC generators to AC electric power systems requires the power conversion circuits that may cause additional energy loss. This paper discusses the capability and feasibility of DC microgrids with regard to energy efficiency analysis through detailed dynamic simulation of DC and AC microgrids. The dynamic simulation models of DC and AC microgrids based on the Microgrid Test System in KEPCO Research Institute are described in detail. Through simulation studies on various conditions, this paper compares the energy efficiency and advantages of DC and AC microgrids.

Integrated Service Framework for Naval Ship using REST Architecture (REST 아키텍처를 이용한 함정 통합 서비스 프레임워크)

  • The functions of various systems inside the naval ships have been improved and diversified to prepare for the future battlefield and satisfy new requirements. The number of missions and operating displays with which a crew has to deal has increased. In this paper, Integrated Service Framework for Naval Ships is proposed. The proposed framework is based on REST architecture and it interfaces the networks of each systems in the ship. The connected data and functions are rebuilt as an object and they are provided as HTTP and JSON based APIs. The prototype of the framework was implemented in a combat system test-bed and its feasibility was proved with performance tests. With the proposed framework, operational efficiency for a naval ship can be achieved by designing new integrated displays and HCI which utilize whole ship's capabilities.
