Improvement of Retrieval Feedback Using Dynamic Interaction Function (동적 상호작용 함수를 애용한 검색 피드백의 개선)

  • The paper describes a method o( user feedback in order to enhance the retrieval system effectiveness. The existing fuzzification function adapting fuzzy technique has difficulty that 4 type graph is made each time user select components. In this paper, to overcome this weak point of feedback, we proposed the interaction function using gaussian function that gives different learning rate according to choice of components with same function. We suggest the most efficient dynamic interaction function based on comparison of retrieval performance according to parameter of function. And then, we will construct the efficient retrieval system.

  • In this paper, novel concept of a photovoltaic(PV) power generation system adding the function of active filter(AF) is proposed. Even PV power generation system can be treated to a harmonics source for the power distribution system, it is necessary that the function of AF system in grid connected PV power generation system. Active Filters intended for harmonic solutions are expending their functions from harmonic compensation of nonlinear loads into harmonic isolation between utilities and consumer, and harmonic damping throughout power distribution system. So, the PV system combined the function of AF system can be usefully applied in power distribution system. Here, the control strategy of PV-AF system is introduced.

  • In this paper, and optimum profile of a cam being used in a VTR Deck mechanism is designed by the response surface analysis. The objective function of the design is to reduce driving torque of the pinch roller system that is used to compress video tape to the capstan motor axia. The pinch roller system that will be designed is modeled using the general purpopse mechanism analysis program DADS. The computer model is compared with the physical system for reliability. A model function to represent relationship between design variables and the objective function is estimated by the response surface analysis. Once the model function is reliably estimated the optimal design is carried out using the model function and each design variable's boundaries. To verify improvement of the pinch roller system, a prototype for the pinch rooler system is made and tested. From the test result, an optimum cam profile to resuce driving torque of the pinch roller system is verified.

The Effect of Membership Concentration in FVQ/HMM for Speaker-Independent Speech Recognition

  • We investigate the effect of membership concentration on the performance of the speaker-independent recognition system by FVQ/HMM. For the membership function, we adopt the result obtained from the objective function approach by Bezdek. Membership concentration is done by varying the exponent in the membership function. The number of selected clusters is constrained to two for the sake of cheap computational cost. Experimental results showed that the recognition rate has its maximum value when the membership function was taken to be inversely proportional to the distance of the input vector from the cluster centroid. When the membership concentration was two weak or too strong, the performance was found to be relatively poor as expected. Except these extreme cases, the membership concentration was not shown to affect the recognition rate significantly. This is in accordance with the general observation that the fuzzy system is not much sensitive. to the detailed shape of the membership function as long as it is overlapped over multiple classes.

Selection of Indicator and Establishment of System for a Functional Assessment of Green Space - Focused on Forest Green Space - (녹지의 기능적 평가를 위한 지표 선정 및 평가체계 구축 - 산림형 녹지를 중심으로 -)

  • The purpose of this study is to select indicators by a methodical approach and to establish a functional assessment system as a basic study for planning and constructing green space of forest. The types of green space were divided into 6 classes based on theoretical reviews of literature and the functions of green space were restricted to 'nature-ecological function', 'environment-control function' and 'usage function'. As a result of the selection of indicators, 35 indicators were initially selected by theoretical review and these indicators were reduced to 29 through brainstorming. Also, these indicators were classified into three functions such as 12 indicators (nature-ecological function), 8 indicators (environment-control function), 6 indicators (usage function) by analysis of suitability. According to the result of selection of the optimum indicators using MCB (Multiple Comparisons with the Best treatment) analysis, the optimum indicators of 7, 5, and 4 respectively by each function were selected for forest green space. The results of AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process) for the establishment of the assessment system in forest, the weight of nature-ecological function was evaluated highest at 0.558, while the weight of environment-control and usage function were calculated at each 0.277, 0.165. 'Naturality (0.189)', 'Carbon sink (0.235)', and 'Accessibility (0.354)' among indicators showed highest by each function. The weight of indicator and assessment system may be used as a valuable guideline in case of assessing synthetically green space within urban planning.

Verification of Validity on the Manual Ability Classification System in Children With Spastic Cerebral Palsy (경직형 뇌성마비 아동의 손 기능 분류 체계의 타당도 검증)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the validity of the Manual Ability Classification System (MACS) by analysing of relation between MACS and Jebsen-Talyor Hand Function Test. The concurrent validity was examined by calculation of correlation between MACS and Jabsen-Talyor Hand Function test and the discriminant validity was examined by measurement of hand function difference according to MACS level. For this, eighty-one children with spastic cerebral palsy were employed in this study. The children were evaluated by using the MACS and Jebsen-Taylor Hand Function Test for their hand function. There were a significant correlation between the MACS and Hand function (r = .870, p < .05). The good correlation between the MACS and subtest of Jabsen-Talyor Hand function (p < .05). The hand function according to the MACS level were different significantly (p < .05). The MACS is valid classification system for assessment of hand function of children with cerebral palsy. The MACS in practice will provide usefulness for assessment of hand function in children with spastic cerebral palsy.

Conversion Function and Relationship of Loss of Load Expectation Indices on Two Kinds of Load Duration Curve (두 종류의 부하곡선에 관한 공급지장시간기대치(LOLE)의 상호 변환관계성)

  • This paper develops a conversion function and method transforming from daily peak load curve used $LOLE_D$ [days/year] to hourly load curve used $LOLE_H$[hours/year]and describes relationship between $LOLE_D$ [days/year] and $LOLE_H$ [hours/year]. The indices can not only be transformed just arithmetically but also have different characteristics physically because of using their different load curves. The conversion function is formulated as variables of capacity and forced outage rate of generator, hourly load daily load factor and daily peak load yearly load factor, etc. Therefore, the conversion function (${\gamma}={\varphi}$(.)) can not be simple. In this study, therefore, the function is formulated as linear times of separated two functions. One is an exponential formed conversion function of daily load factor. Another is formulated with an exponential typed conversion function of daily peak load yearly load factor. Futhermore, this paper presents algorithm and flow chart for transforming from $LOLE_D$[days/year] to $LOLE_H$[hours/year]. The proposed conversion function is applied to sample system and actual KPS(Korea Power System) in 2015. The exponent coefficients of the conversion functions are assessed using proposed method. Finally, assessment errors using conversion function for case studies of sample system and actual system are evaluated to certify the firstly proposed method.
