The purposes of this study are 1) to develop a pre-education program for teaching the basic concepts of systems thinking and STEAM program based on systems thinking and 2) to investigate the effects of the program on middle school students' systems thinking. The subjects were 4 seventh-graders and 4 ninth-graders in a middle school located in the province of Gyeongsangbuk-do. Data related to students' systems thinking was analyzed using the rubrics developed by Hung(2008). The results were reviewed by experts to verify the validity of the rubrics and the reliability of students' system thinking. In addition, the data analyzed with the rubrics, students' awareness of systems thinking, word associations, causal maps and interviews were systematically analyzed to investigate the effects of the program on students' systems thinking. The findings of this study were as follows: First, a pre-education program and teachers' guidebook for teaching and learning the concept of systems thinking and causal maps were developed. The pre-education program consisted of familiar TV entertainment program-Infinite Challenge (Muhandojeon)-with a theme of Global Warming. Second, a STEAM education program based on systems thinking which was composed of 5 steps: Analysis-Design-Build-Assessment-Systems thinking. The major theme of the program was an air extinguisher. The developed STEAM education program had positive effects on improving middle school students' systems thinking abilities such as understanding systems, relations within a system and system generalization. Therefore, it was concluded that the STEAM program could be instrumental for cultivating students' STEAM literacy with improved systems thinking.

In this paper, we propose a CT-SPI Model based on a physical computing for improving Computational Thinking(CT) for elementary students. This study analyzes the results obtained from applying the CT-SPI model to fourth-grade class. The model is designed to embrace the learning activities and CT elements for three different stages: System thinking, Prototyping and Interaction. For providing curriculum with CT-SPI model, physical SW educational module is developed, so that learners could focus on internalizing CT. The study results indicate that a learning satisfaction and a degree of learner interest improve significantly. Comprehensive CT capability assessment results in three levels show that the capability in lowest level (score is below 4 out of 10) has decreased by 46.6% but capability in highest level (over 7 out of 10) has increased by 20%.
The purpose of this paper is to explore causal relationship between social capital and firm's performance using systems thinking analysis. In strategic networks, the relationship between the members is an important factor affecting the performance. For this reason, we study relationship between social capital and firm's performance on strategic networks. The results show: Firstly, as presented in the existing research, trust and performance are positive relationship(+) and verify the entire system on strategic networks. Secondly, due to exclusiveness and embeddedness of social capital, there is nonlinear relationship between social capital and the firm's performance. Thirdly, the key factor of firm's performance on strategic networks verify relationship dependency and trust.
This paper attempts to provide a more complete acknowledging of Hallyu(Korean Wave), using systems thinking. The central concept is understanding how all the objects of Hallyu(Korean Wave) in a culture system interact with one another. What it attempts to do is understand the feedback loop of Hallyu(Korean Wave) with other country culture, and thus understand the behavior of mass culture agent it make produce. This works is for public management and policy in culture industry and leading culture itself. And alternative policies that alleviate the problem, and implements this solution at Hallyu(Korean Wave) continuance.

Present monetary system is based on fallacies. The purpose of this article is to highlight the pitfalls in economic thinking. The article shows that this way of thinking leads to the creation of inflation which is the root of all evil. The analysis proceeds in different approach to the contemporary theory of money. An inflation- free monetary system is introduced. Monetary system is the set of mechanisms that controls money. In this broad sense, monetary system can be divided into three different systems. Each of them has different goal; National monetary system which aims to raise sufficient funds in order to reach an optimal level of output growth that maintains full employment and satisfies the economic requirements of the community. National redistribution system which aims to redistribute funds in order to sustain individuals at or above a specified material standard of living, and enable government to provide public services. International monetary system which aims to preserve rights of parties in foreign exchange transactions.
Purpose While individuals have unique abilities for planned behavior, they also often act irrationally. In this study, we draw on myopic loss aversion perspective as a meta-theoretical lens to explain why mobile applications users have inertia from updating their applications, ultimately leading them to use current version of applications. Design/methodology/approach Based on a survey of 219 users, this study conducts its research model using partial least square analysis and also demonstrates that both subconscious triggers (habit and anxiety) of system 1 thinking and conscious triggers (sunk cost and transition cost) of system 2 thinking promotes user's inertia, thus leading to the willness to continue use current versions. Findings By grounding the research model in the combination of both status quo bias and dual information processing theory from the behavioral economics, this study provide an alternative theoretical lens to describe why mobile users hesitate to update their applications. The results of this research show that all triggers have significant impacts on inertia. This study also found that the relationship between inertia and willingness to continue to use current version was positively significant.
Transportation systems around the world are difficult to maintain sustainability that, in a broad sense, is the capacity to endure. By connecting Entropy theory and systems thinking, we find the current problems and seek alternative plans. Distortions of the current transportation system to improve individual's ease and increasing traffic congestion, impose us the heavy energy consumption and will make increase whole entropy. UNEP reports are presented following three reasons that undermine the sustainabillity. The first one is that the prevalent traffic system highlight benefits of accessibility than benefits of mobility, the second, deteriorate excessive energy consumption, and the last reason is that personal vehicles has inhibited the use of public transportation. Alternative ideas to enhance the sustainable transportation system are these; (1) changeover from 'Ease of movement' to 'space efficiency', (2) evolving the smart traffic system instead of the construction or expansion of the road and (3) creating more comfortable the use of mass transportation. In addition, there are another ways that encouraging modal shift that increase traffic of goods, transport over railway lines and waterways, decongesting transport corridors and elevating technology to improve public transportation. The most importantly, we converse our cognitive process to be willing to enjoy uncomfortable and annoying life.
This paper aims to propose the strategy making in social enterprise for ensuring organizational sustainability and governance of social enterprise from systems thinking's perspective. Based on previous reviews on organizational sustainability and theories of governance currently advocated in the social enterprise literature, we use 'Holon Dynamics' approach, which is a synthesis of System Dynamics and Soft Systems Methodology (SSM), offers the problem-solving method for dealing with social contexts and "ill-defined" situations. To do so, a researcher carried out the interpretive action research using 'Holon Dynamics' approach from September, 2009 to August, 2010. The outcomes of research are summarized as follows. Firstly, systems methodologies are useful to offer a strategic choice that makes to achieve an organizational sustainability in the case of Korean social enterprise; 'the Rediscovery of Korea'. Secondly, systems thinking offers an alternative concept of system, which is known as an 'appreciative system' that is evolved from the mental constructs amongst participants in given situations. Lastly, the paper delineates the usefulness of systems thinking and the process of inquiry, which deal with social contexts (including cultural and political factors), are contributed to making the necessary conditions for organizational legitimacy and the appropriate strategic choice for social enterprise within combined functioning of the two roles of social and commercial activities from systemic perspectives.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the factors giving effects to juvenile's suicide thinking and search for the method to protect juveniles from the risk factors of suicide thinking and reinforce protective factors. For this purpose, juvenile's depression and stress degree were analyzed as the factors giving effects to juvenile's suicide thinking and the effect of social support, which was assumed as a protective factor from suicide thinking, was verified. Analysis results are as follows. First, juvenile's daily stress showed significant deference from suicide thinking. There was a significant positive correlation between juvenile's daily life stress and suicide thinking. Therefore, it was found that the juveniles who suffer from stress have a lot of suicide thinking. Second, juvenile's depression gave a significant effect to suicide thinking. There was a significant positive correlation between juvenile's depression and suicide thinking. it was proved that the juveniles who suffer from depression have a lot of suicide thinking. Third, There was a significant negative correlation between social support and suicide thinking. The more the juveniles get social support, the less they have suicide thinking. The study results above reveal that juvenile's suicide shall be approached from the preventive aspect, for preventing juvenile's suicide, social support which mitigates suicide thinking factors is very important. Therefore this study proposed social attention on the juvenile's suicide thinking, and formation social support system that reinforce social support. Moreover, for preventing the factors reinforcing suicide thinking, preventive approach, alternative program such as case management and group program, and integrated management inined with juvenile related organizations and specialists are required. At the same time school environment shall be improved and changed.
This study aims to comprehensively understand the dynamics of the dementia as a social problem and to find out its causes and solutions, using the systems thinking approach. The contents of the study are as follows. Firstly, it examines the existing studies on the dementia, draws their limitations and further presents the major variables to understand the dementia as a social problem. Second, it analyzes the structure of the causation in order to find out the dynamics of the problem. Lastly, it concludes with the suggestions to solve the problem based on its feedback structure presented in the causal loop diagrams. This study is expected to make a useful and basic material to grope for the solutions, as the first research to dynamically understand the dementia as a social problem.
