In the present study, the focus is on the analysis of carbothermal reduction of oxide powder prepared from waste WC/Co hardmetal by solid carbon under a stream of argon for the recycling of the WC/Co hard-metal. The oxide powder was prepared by the combination of the oxidation and crushing processes using the waste $WC-8 wt.\%Co$ hardmetal as the raw material. This oxide powder was mixed with carbon black, and then this mixture was carbothermally reduced under a flowing argon atmosphere. The changes in the phase structure and gases discharge of the mixture during carbothermal reduction was analysed using XRD and gas analyzer. The oxide powder prepared from waste $WC-8wt.\%Co$ hardmetal has a mixture of $WO_{3} and CoWO_{4}$. This oxide powder reduced at about $850^{\circ}C$, formed tungsten carbides at about $950^{\circ}C$, and then fully transformed to a mixed state of tungsten carbide (WC) and cobalt at about $1100^{\circ}C$ by solid carbon under a stream of argon. The WC/Co composite powder synthesized at $1000^{\circ}C$ for 6 hours from oxide powder of waste $WC-8wt.\%Co$ hardmetal has an average particle size of $0.3 {\mu}m$.
TiC-derived carbon coatings have been synthesized at $600^{\circ}C$ temperature treatment with $H_2/Cl_2$ mixture gases. From Raman spectroscopy measurements, the modified layer was covered with carbon and the thick-ness of the layer was increased with increasing reaction time. And $I_D/I_G$ ratio was decreased with increasing reaction time. The superior tribological property was obtained from TiC reacted with $Cl_2$ gas for 2 hrs. And the tribological property measurements indicate that TiC-derived carbon layer has $0.9{\times}10_{-6}mm^3/Nm$ in wear coefficient and 0.13 in friction coefficient.
Pure and 0.5, 1, 2, 5, and 10 at% of Mo-doped $Co_3O_4$ yolk-shell spheres were synthesized by ultrasonic spray pyrolysis of droplets containing Co nitrate, ammonium molybdate, and sucrose and their gas sensing characteristics to 5 ppm trimethylamine (TMA), ethanol, p-xylene, toluene, ammonia, carbon monoxide, and benzene were measured at $225-325^{\circ}C$. The sensor using pure $Co_3O_4$ yolk-shell spheres showed the highest response to p-xylene and very low response to TMA at $250^{\circ}C$, while the doping of Mo into $Co_3O_4$ tended to increase the overall responses of gas sensors. In particular, the sensor using 5 at% Mo-doped $Co_3O_4$ yolk-shell spheres exhibited the high response to TMA with low cross-responses to other interfering gases. The high response and selectivity of Mo-doped $Co_3O_4$ yolk-shell spheres to TMA are attributed to the electronic sensitization by higher valent Mo doping and acid-base interaction between TMA and Mo components.
The amount of natural gas that is used on a worldwide scale is continuously going up. Natural gas and acidic components, such as hydrogen sulfide and carbon dioxide, cause significant corrosion damage to transmission lines and equipment in various quantities. One of the fundamental processes in natural gas processing is the separation of acid gases, among which the safety and environmental needs due to the high toxicity of hydrogen sulfide and also to prevent wear and corrosion of pipelines and gas transmission and distribution equipment, the necessity of sulfide separation Hydrogen is more essential than carbon dioxide and other compounds. Given this problem's significance, this endeavor aims to extend the lifespan of the transmission lines' pipes for gas and oil. Zinc oxide nanoparticles made from the environmentally friendly source of Allium scabriscapum have been employed to accomplish this crucial purpose. This is a simple, safe and cheap synthesis method compared to other methods, especially chemical methods. The formation of zinc oxide nanoparticles was shown by forming an absorption peak at a wavelength of about 355 nm using a spectrophotometric device and an X-ray diffraction pattern. The size and morphology of synthesized nanoparticles were determined by scanning and transmission electron microscope, and the range of size changes of nanoparticles was determined by dynamic light scattering device.

Growth mechanism of carbon nanotubes(CNTs) synthesized by chemical vapor deposition is abided by two growth modes. These growth modes are classified by the position of activated catalytic metal particle in the CNTs. Growth mode can be also affected by interaction between substrate and catalytic metal and induced energy such as thermal and plasma. We studied the reaction of catalytic metal to the substrate and growth mode of CNTs. Various substrates such as Si(100), graphite plate, coming glass, sapphire and AAO membrane are used to study the relation between catalytic metal and substrate in the synthesis of CNTs. For catalytic metal, thin film was deposited on various substrate via sputtering technique with a thickness of ∼20nm and magnetic fluids with none-sized particles were dispersed on AAO membrane. After laying process on AAO membrane, it was dried at 80$^{\circ}C$ for 8 hour. Synthesizing of CNTs was carried out at 900$^{\circ}C$ in NH3/C2H2 mixture gases flow for 10minutes.
Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) of cobalt gallate were synthesized and deposited on gold electrodes using self-assembly monolayers (SAMs) and hydrothermal processing. These MOF films exhibit strong adsorption capabilities for gaseous particulates, and the use of SAMs allows the synthesis and deposition processes to be completed in a single step. When cobalt gallate is mixed with SAMs, a coordination bond is formed between the cobalt ion and the carboxylate or hydroxyl groups of the SAMs, particularly under hydrothermal conditions. Additionally, the quartz crystal microbalance (QCM) gas sensor accurately measures the number of particulates adsorbed on the MOF films in real-time. Thus, the QCM gas sensor is a valuable tool for quantitatively measuring gases, such as SO2, NO2, and CO2. Furthermore, the QCM MOF film gas sensor was more effective for gas adsorption than the MOF particles alone and allowed the accurate modeling of gas adsorption. Moreover, the QCM MOF films accurately detect the adsorption-desorption mechanisms of SO2 and NO2, which exist as gaseous particulate matter, at specific gas concentrations.
Many countries are striving to reduce carbon emissions with the goal of net zero by 2050. Accordingly, vehicles are rapidly being electrified to reduce greenhouse gases in the transportation sector. However, many organizations predict that internal combustion engines of LDV (light-duty vehicle) will exist even in 2050, and it is difficult to electrify aircraft and large ships in a short time. Therefore, synthetic fuel (i.e., e-Fuel) that can reduce carbon emissions and replace existing fossil fuels is in the spotlight. The e-Fuel refers to a fuel synthesized by using carbon obtained through various carbon capture technologies and green hydrogen produced by eco-friendly renewable energy. The purpose of this study is to compare and analyze the injection and spray characteristics of the simulated e-Gasoline. We mixed the hydrocarbon fuel components according to the composition ratio of the synthetic fuel produced based on the FT(Fischer-Tropsch) process. As a result of injection rate measurement, simulated e-Gasoline showed no significant difference in injection delay and injection period compared to standard gasoline. However, due to the low vapor pressure of the simulated e-Gasoline, the spray tip penetration (STP) was lower, and the size of spray droplets was larger than that of traditional gasoline.
Carbon coils could be synthesized on nickel catalyst layer-deposited silicon oxide substrate using $C_2H_2$ and $H_2$ as source gases and SF6 as an additive gas under thermal chemical vapor deposition system. The geometries of as-grown carbon materials were investigated with increasing the reaction temperature as the increment of $25^{\circ}C$ from $650^{\circ}C$ up to $800^{\circ}C$. At $650^{\circ}C$, the embryos for carbon coils were formed. With increasing the reaction temperature to $700^{\circ}C$, the coil-type geometries were developed. Further increasing the reaction temperature to $775^{\circ}C$, the development of wave-like nano-sized coils, instead of nano-sized coils, and occasional appearance of micro-sized carbon coils could be observed. Fluorine in $SF_6$ additive may shrink the micro-sized coil diameter via the reduction of Ni catalyst size by fluorine's etching role. Finally, the preparation of the micro-sized carbon coils having the smaller coil diameters, compared with the previously reported ones, could be possible using $SF_6$ additive.

Ga-doped ZnO thin films by RF magnetron sputtering process were synthesized according to the deposition conditions of O2 and Ar atmosphere gases, and rapid heat treatment (RTA) was performed at 600℃ in an N2 atmosphere. The thickness of the deposited ZnO : Ga thin film was measured, the crystal phase was investigated by XRD pattern analysis, and the microstructure of the thin film was observed by FE-SEM and AFM images. The intensity of the (002) plane of the X-ray diffraction pattern showed a significant difference depending on the deposition conditions of the thin films formed by O2 and Ar atmosphere gas types. In the case of a single thin f ilm doped with Ga under O2 conditions, a strong diffraction peak was observed. Under O2 and Ar conditions, in the case of a multilayer thin film with Ga doping, only a peak on the (002) plane with a somewhat weak intensity was shown. In the FE-SEM image, it was observed that the grain size of the surface of the thin film slightly increased as the thickness increased. In the case of a multilayer thin film with Ga doping under O2 and Ar atmosphere conditions, the specific resistance was 6.4 × 10-4 Ω·cm. In the case of a single thin film with Ga doping under O2 atmosphere conditions, the resistance of the thin film decreased. The resistance decreased as the thickness of the Ga-doped ZnO thin film increased to 2 ㎛, showing relatively a low specific resistance of 1.0 × 10-3 Ω·cm.
In this study, four soluble homo- and co-polyimides using 5-(2,5-dioxotetrahydrofuryl)-3-methyl-3-cyclohexene-1,2-dicarboxylic anhydride (DOCDA) and 4,4'-diaminodiphenyl ether (ODA) monomers were synthesized to develop the gas separation membrane with good $CO_2/CH_4$ separation properties. To prepare the copolyimides, 20 mol% of three dianhydrides - (4,4'-(hexafluoroisoproplidene)diphthalic anhydride (6FDA), 4,4'-biphthalic anhydride (BPDA), 3,3',4,4'-benzophenone tetracarboxylic dianhydride (BTDA) - were added in DOCDA-ODA monomer mixture, respectively. All the synthesized homo- and co-polyimides were characterized by FT-IR. Their thermal properties were analyzed with differential scanning calorimeter (DSC). Dense membranes were prepared from these copolyimides to check their gas permeation properties for $CO_2$ and $CH_4$ gases using a time-lag method. The permeation testing results are as follows; DOCDA/ODA homopolymer showed 1.71 barrer of $CO_2$ permeability and 74.35 of $CO_2/CH_4$ selectivity. The three polyimide copolymers (DOCDA/6FDA-ODA, DOCDA/BPDA-ODA, DOCDA/BTDA-ODA) showed lower $CO_2/CH_4$ selectivities and higher $CO_2$ permeabilities than the homopolymer (DOCDA-ODA). DOCDA/6FDA-ODA showed twice times higher $CO_2$ permeabilities without severe $CO_2/CH_4$ selectivity loss than the DOCDA-ODA.
