Most of the previous approaches to English agreement phenomena have relied upon only one component of the grammar (e.g., either syntax, or semantics, or pragmatics). This paper argues that interrelationships among different grammatical components play crucial roles in such phenomenon too (cf. Kathol 1999 and Hudson 1999). The paper proposes that, contrary to traditional wisdom, English determiner-noun agreement is morpho-syntactic whereas subject-verb and pronoun-antecedent agreement are reflections of index agreement (cf. Pollard and Sag 1994). The present hybrid analysis of English agreement shows the importance of the interaction of different components of the grammar in accounting for English agreement phenomena. In particular, once we allow morphology to tightly interact with the system of syntax, semantics, or even pragmatics, we could provide a solution to some puzzling English agreement phenomena. This allows a more principled theory of English agreement.

XML(eXtensible Markup Language)을 통하여 의료부문의 Arden Syntax틀 표현하기 위한 모델은 Arden Syntax의 이식성을 증가시키기 위하여 개발된다. Arden Syntax는 의료분야에서의 논리적인 시스템에 활용되는 의학적인 의사 결정을 위한 언어이다. 또한 의료영역에서의 의사결정들을 컴퓨터에 의해 실행이 가능하도록 하기 위하여 고안된 언어이다. 본 논문에서는 의료부문에서의 Arden Syntax를 XML로 변화하기 위한 ArdenML을 설계한다. 즉 ArdenML에 대한 스키마와 스타일시트 등을 제시하고 MLM 예제를 통하여 검증한다. 즉 점차 이식성측면이 강조되는 Arden Syntax를 위한 XML 스키마 및 스타일시트를 구축하며 제시한다.

The researches on the spacial structure analysis have been mainly accomplished with the qualitative analysis approaches and did not examine closely the attributes of spacial structure. The Space Syntax which is one of the methods of spacial structure analysis is performed usefully at home and abroad in order to analyze quantitatively the spacial structure and to be clear logically the physical structure. This study introduced the fundamental notions of Space Syntax and analyzed its applied research cases, and tried to find its applicable subjects for rural planning.

본본 논문에서는 Space Syntax 이론에 기반하여 여성의 안전한 여가활동 경로를 추천하는 어플리케이션을 제안한다. 이 어플리케이션은 접근성, 지역 간 상호관계 등을 바탕으로 한 계산을 통해 추천경로를 만든다. 이는 일반적인 네비게이션이 가지는 최단시간, 최단거리 탐색과는 차별성을 가지며, 안전을 최우선으로 한 경로를 탐색한다. 오늘날 늘어난 여가시간에 따라 사람들의 레저 활동이 많아지며, 따라서 여성의 경우도 참여율에 높아진다. 이 때 여성의 경우 안전적 문제에 있어 레저 활동 장소까지의 경로를 추천하고자 한다. 본 논문에서는 제안하는 레저활동과 여성안전에 관련한 어플리케이션은 다양한 위험요소를 염두에 두어 계산을 통해 안전한 경로를 제공하는 알고리듬으로 주관적 선택사항을 적용하여, 자기맞춤형 경로를 선택 가능하게 한다.

This study aims to investigate the relationship between spatial layout and space use pattern in subway station. Details investigation is carried out using space syntax method and observation of people's movement in Kangnam subway station. Space syntax method describes spatial layout quantitatively. The study reveals that space use pattern can be predicted by spatial layout of subway station using space syntax method. This study suggests that by applying space syntax method in planning stage we can design subway station objectively considering passenger's movement.

This study analyzes spatial density and integration of Space Syntax and Discrete Event Simulation (DEVS) of complex system theory and analyzes spatial structure by property, type and depth. The aim of this study is to secure the validity of the theoretical application. The study evaluated the correlation between spatial density and integration by setting up eight types of analysis models. In addition, analyzed the correlation of structural characteristics and approached the application of discrete event simulation of spatial syntax theory. It is confirmed that the concept of integration of spatial syntax theory and analysis using discrete event simulation are valid as new spatial analysis methodology. Also expect that realistic and concrete predictions will be possible if discrete event simulation evolves into research for space allocation and space efficiency optimization.

XML은 문서의 정적인 요소나 확장성을 해결할 수 있는 차세대 웹 문서 표준 언어이다. 그러나 XML 구조의 복잡성과 문법의 제약 때문에 일반 사용자는 잘 설계된 (Well-formed) 문서나 유효한 (valid) 문서를 만들기가 어렵다는 문제를 가지고 있다. 본 논문에서는 XML 구문지향 문서 작성기를 설계하고 구현한다. XML 구문지향 문서 작성기는 편집기에 제시되는 구문에 따라 쉽게 문서를 작성할 수 있으며, 작성된 문서는 모두 유효하다(valid) 는 특정을 가지고 있다. 본 편집기는 XML 초보자에게 도움을 줄 수 있으며, XML 문서를 작성하는데 높은 생산성을 줄 것이다.

본 논문에서는 게임 맵에 대한 공간 분석을 통하여 정량적인 공간 분석 수치를 제공함으로써기획자들로 하여금 게임 객체를 배치하는데 있어서의 합리성을 제공할 수 있도록 하는 것이 본 연구의 기본 목적이다. 본 연구의 의의로는 Space Syntax을 이용한 게임 플레이어들의 행태 분석에 국한된 기존 연구의 한계를 벗어나, 게임 개발 단계인 레벨 디자인에서 Space Syntax를 활용하여 효율적인 게임 객체의 배치가 가능할 수 있도록 한 것이다. 본 논문의 산업적인 가치로는 합리적인 게임 객체의 배치에 따라 기존의 레벨 디자인 단계에서 발생할 수 있는 반복적인 작업들을 줄여 게임 개발 기간 및 개발 기대 비용을 절감할 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.

To effectively use Building Information Modelling (BIM) dealing with semantic information including the entities of building components, the information about building components should be standardized. Like standardized modern buildings. in the past, Korean traditional houses were built according to strict procedures and formats. Therefore, if the Korean traditional house are modelled by using BIM,. not only the Korean traditional house of good quality will be built quickly and cheaply, but also spaces in the existing Korean traditional house will be easily analyzed. However, when analyzing spaces of the Korean traditional house using Space Syntax, some problems are caused in dividing outdoor space such as yard with unclear boundaries, unlike indoor space with clear boundaries surrounded by walls. These comes from the fact that researchers have subjectively divided a space in the house into convex spaces as units for Space Syntax analysis. Therefore, this study aims to develop an objective and rational spatial subdivision technique for Space Syntax analysis of a Korean traditional house modelled by using BIM. We could objectively and reasonably divide a Korean traditional house space into convex spaces by recognizing the building components in the house modelled in the form of Industry Foundation Classes(IFC). Depending on the connection of convex spaces allocated in the spatial subdivision technique, j-graph in Space Syntax could be drawn and the measurements of spatial configurations could be determinded. Through the developed technique, the social properties including the cultural and philosophical aspects of Korean people was identified by measuring the spatial configurations of Korean traditional house. The developed technique will serve as useful means to help architects to find an appropriate purpose of each space for sustainable architecture on the basis of the spatial and social relationships in buildings or urban systems.
