  • To increase the quality of the system in the subjective-type question grading and document classification, we need the paragraph detection. But it is not easy because it is accompanied by semantic analysis. Many researches on the paragraph detection solve the detection problem using the word based clustering method. However, the word based method can not use the order and dependency relation between words. This paper suggests the paragraph detection system using syntactic-semantic relation between words with the Korean syntactic-semantic analysis. This system is the hybrid system of word based, concept based, and syntactic-semantic tree based detection. The experiment result of the system shows it has the better result than the word based system. This system will be utilized in Korean subjective question grading and document classification.

  • The subjective question is appropriate for evaluation of deep thinking, but it is not easy to score. Since, regardless of same scoring criterion, the graders are able to produce different scores, we need the objective automatic evaluation system. However, the system has the problem of Korean analysis and comparison. This paper suggests the Korean syntactic analysis and subjective grading system using the syntactic-semantic tree comparator. This system is the hybrid grading system of word based and syntactic-semantic tree based grading. This system grades the answers on the subjective question using the syntactic-semantic comparator. This proposed system has the good result. This system will be utilized in Korean syntactic-semantic analysis, subjective question grading, and document classification.

  • To upgrade the subjective question grading, we need the syntactic-semantic analysis to analyze syntatic-semantic relation between words in answering. However, since the syntactic-semantic tree has structural and semantic relation between words, we can not apply the method calculating the similarity between vectors. This paper suggests the comparing system with syntactic-semantic tree which has structural and semantic relation between words. In this thesis, we suggest similarity calculation principles for comparing the trees and verify the principles through experiments. This system will help the subjective question grading by comparing the trees and be utilized in distinguishing similar documents.

  • Most of the PC users manipulate the computer by using a few commands which are familiar with them. However by using Hangul sentences instead of using DOS commands, the optimal commands can be generated and flexibility can be provided. For this purpose, the conversion method of the input sentence into DOS commands is studied by means of morphological analysis, syntactic analysis, semantic analysis, and conceptual analysis. Tabular parsing is used in morphological analysis. case grammar is used in syntactic and semantic analysis. Case grammar is used in syntactic and semantic analysis. The meaning of sentence is represeented by the semantic network, from which we can generate a sequence DOS commands.

  • In information society, the need to detect document duplication and plagiarism is increasing. Many studies have progressed to meet such need, but there are limitations in increasing document duplication detection quality due to technological problem of natural language processing. Recently, some studies tried to increase the quality by applying syntatic-semantic analysis technique. But, the studies have the problem comparing syntactic-semantic trees. This paper develops a syntactic-semantic tree comparator, designs and implements a discriminator of similar documents using the comparator. To evaluate the system, we analyze the correlation between human discrimination and system discrimination with the comparator. This analysis shows that the proposed discrimination has good performance. We need to define the document type and improve the processing technique appropriate for each type.

  • Connectivity effects have been central issues in dealing with specificational pseudoclefts. While syntactic approaches motivate their analysis in order to explain connectivity effects in terms of a connected clause, these accounts have numerous problems including a wide range of anti-connectivity effects that constitute crucial counterevidence. On the other hand, semantic accounts of connectivity effects treat BV and BT connectivity by independent interpretive mechanisms providing a more fundamental explanation for connectivity effects. Yet existing semantic accounts have limitations in explaining syntactic properties and syntactic connectivity effects in SPCs, and in accounting for BV anti-connectivity effects in English. Focusing on BV connectivity, this paper explores how the relevant (anti-)connectivity facts can be accounted for by an analysis that provides both an elaborate syntactic analysis of SPCs and a semantic mechanism for bound anaphora. Based on Yoo's (2005) non-deletion based, question-answer pair analysis of SPCs, this paper shows that a functional question analysis of a specificational subject, when combined with a theory of operator scope and a non-configurational condition on bound anaphora, can explain various BV (anti-)connectivity patterns in SPCs and related constructions.

  • the two Korean causal conjunctive suffixes, -nula(ko) and -nun palamey, based on corpus linguistic analysis. Many of the linguistic accounts available, both in pedagogical reference and in the literature on linguistics, provide incomplete analyses of these suffixes, based on fabricated linguistic data. Using naturally occurring, real linguistic data, this paper examines the syntactic and semantic structures of the two causal suffixes through a consideration of three areas of corpus linguistic analysis: token frequencies, collocations, and semantic prosody. An analysis based on concordance data reveals that the two causal connectives, -nula(ko) and -nun palamey, have more differences than similarities in terms of syntactic and semantic constraints. The idiosyncratic structures of the two suffixes are discussed in terms of same subject condition, verb selection, same agent condition, synchronicity condition, and negative semantic prosody.

  • The descriptive-type question is appropriate for deep thinking ability evaluation, but it is not easy to grade. Since, even though same grading criterion, the graders produce different scores, we need the objective evaluation system. However, the system needs the Korean analysis. As the descriptive-type answering is described with the compound sentence, the system has to analyze the compound sentence. This paper develops the Korean syntactic-semantic analysis system for compound sentence and evaluates performance of the system. This system selects the modifiee of the word phrase using syntactic-semantic constraint and semantic dictionary. The 93% accurate rate shows that the system is effective. This system will be utilized in descriptive-type grading and Korean processing.

  • In this study, the intellectual structure of Records Management and Archival Science in Korea was analyzed based on the syntactic and semantic structure analysis of article titles. The data used in this study were 344 articles from three major representative journals in the field of Records Management and Archival Science, published from 1999 to 2008. The results of the syntactic and semantic structure analysis of article titles show that the three role concepts of keywords are 'research domain', 'research object', and 'research focus'. Keywords in article titles were clustered into the core subject areas after they were assigned three concepts. Based on the results of cluster analysis, the intellectual structure of Records Management and Archival Science in Korea was proposed.
