  • We define a skew-symmetric double Rayleigh distribution by a symmetric double Rayleigh distribution, and derive an approximate maximum likelihood estimator(AML) and a moment estimator(MME) of a skewed parameter in a skew-symmetric double Rayleigh distribution, and hence compare simulated mean squared errors of those two estimators. We also compare simulated mean squared errors of two proposed estimators of reliability in two independent skew-symmetric double Rayleigh distributions.

  • An algorithm to get an optimal choice for the number of symmetric quadrature points is given to find symmetric quadrature points is given to find symmetric quadrature for-mulas over a unit disk with a minimal number of points even when a high degree of polynomial precision is required. The symmetric quad-rature formulas for numerical integration over a unit disk of complete polynomial functions up to degree 19 are presented.

  • Usual symmetric duality results are proved for Wolfe and Mond-Weir type nondifferentiable nonlinear symmetric dual programs under F-convexity F-concavity and F-pseudoconvexity F-pseudoconcavity assumptions. These duality results are then used to formulate Wolfe and Mond-Weir type nondifferentiable minimax mixed integer dual programs and symmetric duality theorems are established. Moreover, nondifferentiable fractional symmetric dual programs are studied by using the above programs.

  • In this paper we introduce generalized weakly semi-conformally symmetric manifold, a generalization of weakly symmetric manifold. We study some basic properties and obtain the forms of the scalar curvature of such manifold. In the last section an example is given to ensure the existence of such manifold.

Recently, several authors have studied the symmetric identities for special functions(see [3,5-11,14,17,18,20-22]). In this paper, we study the symmetric identities of the degenerate modified q-Euler polynomials under the symmetric group.

  • In this paper we will demonstrate some results on a prime ring with involution by introducing two generalized derivations acting on symmetric and skew symmetric elements. This approach allows us to generalize some well known results. Furthermore, we provide examples to show that various restrictions imposed in the hypotheses of our theorems are not superfluous.

  • This article examines the connection between 3-derivations and the commutativity of a prime ring R with an involution * that fulfills particular algebraic identities for symmetric and skew symmetric elements. In practice, certain well-known problems, such as the Herstein problem, have been studied in the setting of three derivations in involuted rings.

  • Heat loss and fin efficiency of symmetric and asymmetric trapezoidal fins with variable slope of fin's top surface are obtained by using a two-dimensional analytic method. Shapes of symmetric and asymmetric fins are changed from rectangular through trapezoidal to triangular by adjusting the fin shape factor. The ratio of symmetric trapezoidal fin length to asymmetric trapezoidal fin length is presented as a function of fin base height and convection characteristic number. The ratio of symmetric trapezoidal fin efficiency to asymmetric trapezoidal fin efficiency is presented as a function of the fin base height and fin shape factor. One of results shows that asymmetric trapezoidal fin length is shorter than symmetric trapezoidal fin length (i.e., asymmetric trapezoidal fin volume is smaller than symmetric trapezoidal fin volume) for the same heat loss when the fin base height and fin shape factor are the same.

  • The concept of Cayley-symmetric semigroups is introduced, and several equivalent conditions of a Cayley-symmetric semigroup are given so that an open problem proposed by Zhu [19] is resolved generally. Furthermore, it is proved that a strong semilattice of self-decomposable semigroups $S_{\alpha}$ is Cayley-symmetric if and only if each $S_{\alpha}$ is Cayley-symmetric. This enables us to present more Cayley-symmetric semi-groups, which would be non-regular. This result extends the main result of Wang [14], which stated that a regular semigroup is Cayley-symmetric if and only if it is a Clifford semigroup. In addition, we discuss Cayley-symmetry of Rees matrix semigroups over a semigroup or over a 0-semigroup.
