중국 원산지이미지에 따른 한국 소비자의 지각된 가치와 구매의도: 제조 및 브랜드 원산지 효과를 비교 (The Effects of China's Country-of-Origin Image on Korean Consumers' Perceived Value and Purchase Intentions: Comparison between Country-of-Manufacture (COM) and Country-of-Brand (COB))

  • To infer the true state of a regional product's attributes, consumers use the image they have of the product's region of origin; however, products may have multiple countries of origin in their design, branding, sourcing and manufacturing becuase more products are increasingly a result of multi-firm and multi-country efforts. We examined how the country-of-origin image (country image and product image) affect international consumers' perceived value (function value and symbolic value) and purchase intentions of made-in China goods by extending and deepening the flexible model. Second, to investigate the differences of COO effects according to different types of country-of-origin we divided the traditional country-of-origin into two components: country-of-manufacture (COM) and country-of-brand (COB). We then explore how the impact of China's country image on consumers' perceived value and purchase intentions varies when China is the COM or COB of the same product. Six hypotheses were proposed to test our anticipations. We recruited 800 Korean adult consumers who previously purchased made-in China products to participate in the online investigation. Data analyses were conducted with confirmatory factor analysis and structural equation modeling using SPSS and AMOS. The main results are discussed as follows. First, the effects of China's COO image on Korean consumers' perceived value and purchase intentions vary when China is the COM or COB of a product. Second, a positive effect of the function value and symbolic value on the purchase intentions was found. Literature and practical implications of findings are discussed and suggested in the conclusion.

미디어에 나타난 남성의 이미지와 메이크업의 사회문화적 가치 분석 (The Sociocultural Value Research of Man Image and Make-up in Media)

  • 본 연구에서는 현대 사회의 변화로 주목받고 있는 남성의 선호 이미지와 가치를 규명하고 미디어에 등장하는 인물을 통해 남성 메이크업이 현대 사회문화적 가치를 어떻게 충족시키고 있는지 알아보고자 한다. 연구 방법으로는 우선 문헌 자료와 인터넷을 중심으로 남성의 선호 이미지와 사회문화적 가치를 고찰하였다. 다음으로, 디자인 요소를 중심으로 미디어에 등장한 인물을 통해 남성 메이크업 사례를 비교 분석하였다. 첫째, 실용적 가치는 목적 지향적인 행동을 위한 합리적 사용의 기술적, 도구적 가치이다. 실용적 가치를 강조한 메이크업은 밝고 내추럴한 피부 표현, 최대한 자제된 색조의 연출, 진한 아이브로우 색상의 사용으로 표현되었다. 둘째, 미적 가치는 순수한 미적 가치만을 추구하는 표현적, 장식적 가치이다. 셋째, 상징적 가치는 역사와 사회에서 체험되는 의지적, 의도적 가치이다. 이는 남성들의 구매행동 동기를 설명하는데 있어 중요한 기준이 되는 선호 이미지를 이해하고 이미지 관리 형태에 대한 분석과 향후 남성들의 뷰티 트렌드를 유추하는데 실질적인 기초 자료로 활용 될 수 있으리라 사료된다.

지역문화축제 활성화를 위한 상징공간 구축방안 연구 -가평 국제 재즈페스티벌 장소를 중심으로- (A Study on the Development of Symbolic Places for Local Cultural Festival - Focused on the places for International Jazz Festival in Gapyeong -)

  • The purposes of this study is to identify a proper spot to create a symbolic place for the International Jazz Festival and to improve the connections among the place assets of Gapyeong as a place marketing strategies. To this end, the analysis and interpretation of spatial structure was conducted using space syntax. The results of the study showed that the entire structure of the space formed in the axis of a total of 200. The value of total integration was 0.833, which is relatively low, and the local integration degree was 1.588 degrees. Gahwa Street has the highest value of full integration (1.264) among the major points related with the Festival, followed by the former Gapeyong Station area (1.189). As a result, the former Gapeyong station area was identified as a recommendable place for symbolic place because it is highly accessible to the surrounding areas and spacious enough to function as a plaza. Developing a cultural street occupied by jazz cafes, concerts, shops and restaurants, and transforming the old railroad into a linear park will enhance the image of jazz city and help place marketing.

The Symbolic Meanings of Louis XVI's Costumes in the Portraits

  • This study examines King Louis XVI costumes and his portraits according to symbolic meanings. This study analysis of costumes comes from portraits related various domestic and overseas literature, preliminary study papers, and web sites. Omnipotence, activity, nobility, openness and benevolence were distinguished in the symbolic meaning expressed in the portraits of King Louis XVI. Louis XVI in a portrait was drawn with god or expressed as a martyr and symbolically showed the omnipotence of god. Louis XVI was symbolized as almighty god by maximizing the authority and dignity of the king through the hands of justice that were used as a background or portrait accessory and a costume with the symbol of House of Bourbon. Kings of many generations were expressed as authoritative through portraits. However, Louis XVI showed a proletarian aspect in ordering portraits to reflect the daily working image of communicating with citizens. Active images such as the king riding a horse or administering the state affairs were emphasized in a political and military perspective; in addition, the benevolence of the king was symbolically presented through a family portrait. This symbolically signified that the king is a warm-hearted person who passionately takes care of state affairs and loves the people through a noble element coming from pastel colors and attributes of red colors. Historically, the political incompetence and indifference of kings was fragmentally emphasized; however, these portraits considered the king as one who tried to fulfill duties as the true king with a great interest in politics and the people.

축구월드컵 행사 마스코트에 나타난 지역 특성과 상징 표현 요소 고찰 (A Study on the Regional Characteristics and Symbolic Elements of the Soccer World Cup Mascots)

  • 국제 행사에서 개최지역 문화와 국제사회의 흐름에 부합하는 상징적 개념을 제시하면 세계인의 호응을 얻어 개최지역의 이미지도 올릴 수 있다. 국제 행사 마스코트는 개최지역의 고유한 문화를 상징적으로 나타내며, 구성원의 소속감과 자긍심을 높이고 개최지역의 이미지를 대외적으로 친근하게 나타낼 수 있는 좋은 수단이다. 본 연구는 국제축구연맹(FIFA)의 축구월드컵 행사 마스코트에 반영된 지역 특성과 상징 표현 요소에 대하여 고찰하였다. 1966년부터 2018년까지 개최된 축구월드컵 행사 마스코트는 총 14개로 이들의 소재는 동물, 식물, 사람, 창작 등으로 나누어볼 수 있다. 마스코트에는 지역의 특산물, 개최 지역의 국기, 상징적인 복장, 개최지역 언어, 사회적 논점 등의 지역 특성이 적용되었으며, 마스코트의 복장, 자세, 소품과 행사 관련 문자가 상징 표현 요소로 사용되었다. 연구를 통해 도출된 시사점은 첫째, 마스코트는 지역 특성보다는 행사 주제인 '축구'상징 요소를 더 강하게 표현하고 있었다. 둘째, 지역 특성 표현 요소 중에는 '국기'를 활용한 사례가 돋보였다. 셋째, 마스코트 소재는 '동물'이 선호되었다. 넷째, 마스코트가 '문화향품'과 접목하게 되고, 사회적 경각심을 불러일으키는 등의 확장된 역할을 하게 되었다. 이 연구에서 제기한 특성 및 상징 표현 요소 분류에서 도출된 시사점은 국제 행사 마스코트 기획의 기초자료로 활용될 것이다.

패션 디자인에 나타난 파편화된 신체 이미지 연구 (A Study of Body-in-Pieces Images in Fashion Design)

  • The purpose of this study was to clarify the meanings of the images of the body-in-pieces in fashion design. This study focusing on the body-in-pieces based theoretically in that, and started to figure out the meanings in western art history. Body-in-pieces images were brought in art to express symbolic meanings to destroy the past, sexual fetish, unconsciousness, desire, fantasy, and to disorganize male-subjective idealistic female image. While in fashion design, body-in-pieces images categorized in three, erotic image, cyborg image, abjection image. First, erotic images in fashion design are fragmented body image, such like lip, hair, eye and etc. Second, cyborg image was represented by 3-dimentional molding image made of metallic materials, and last, abjection image representing death image used skeleton and bone image induced uncanny and sadistic feelings. Body-in-pieces images in fashion design are related to fetishism, uncanny, disorganizing traditional femininity.

An Object-Level Feature Representation Model for the Multi-target Retrieval of Remote Sensing Images

  • To address the problem of multi-target retrieval (MTR) of remote sensing images, this study proposes a new object-level feature representation model. The model provides an enhanced application image representation that improves the efficiency of MTR. Generating the model in our scheme includes processes, such as object-oriented image segmentation, feature parameter calculation, and symbolic image database construction. The proposed model uses the spatial representation method of the extended nine-direction lower-triangular (9DLT) matrix to combine spatial relationships among objects, and organizes the image features according to MPEG-7 standards. A similarity metric method is proposed that improves the precision of similarity retrieval. Our method provides a trade-off strategy that supports flexible matching on the target features, or the spatial relationship between the query target and the image database. We implement this retrieval framework on a dataset of remote sensing images. Experimental results show that the proposed model achieves competitive and high-retrieval precision.

  • We are concerned with developing a robust method for comprehensive scene analysis. In particular, we address the problem of representing spatial relations between regions in a segmented 2D image. Spatial relations are modeled as fuzzy sets. The method has two aspects, symbolic and quantitative, consisting of assigning labels for spatial relations and numeric degrees to which a relation holds respectively. The procedure of deriving a spatial relation is hierarchical taking into account geometric/physical characteristics of the regions in question.

성인여성의 자기이미지와 상표이미지 및 쇼핑성향에 관한 연구 (The Study of Self-image and Shopping Orientation by Female's)

  • Cousumers developed self-image through clothing symbolic product for reveal one’self image. When consumers select particular brand of various brand in the market that congruent with one’self image. They have to continue image. In this purpose, the research model was constituted and the questionnaire was made, reviewing preceding studies on self-image, shopping orientation. As for the method of the research, 635 female consumers were the object for the data of this research. The major results of this were as follows: 1. The factor or real self-image was composed of four factors: the refined and deluxe image, casual and simple image, decorous and dressy image, quiet and feminine image. 2. The consumer with real self-image were classified three groups: the group of feminine and dressy image 288 persons, the group of casual image 167 persons and poor image 171 persons. In the consumer’s classified real purchasing brand-image the group of feminine and dressy image was given higher score at feminine and refined and deluxe image, the group of casual image was given higher score at casual and active. 3. The factor of shopping orientation was composed of four factors: pleasant, planned, loyal, recreational shopping orientation. The group of feminine and dressy image was given higher score at pleasant and planned shopping orientation, the group of casual image was given lower score loyal and confident shopping orientation than the other group.
