  • LiDAR technology is a combination of laser ranging, satellite positioning technology and digital image technology for study and determination with high accuracy of the true earth surface features in 3 D. Laser scanning data is typically a points cloud on the ground, including coordinates, altitude and intensity of laser from the object on the ground to the sensor (Wehr & Lohr, 1999). Data from laser scanning can produce products such as digital elevation model (DEM), digital surface model (DSM) and the intensity data. In Vietnam, the LiDAR technology has been applied since 2005. However, the application of LiDAR in Vietnam is mostly for topological mapping and DEM establishment using point cloud 3D coordinate. In this study, another application of LiDAR data are present. The study use the intensity image combine with some other data sets (elevation data, Panchromatic image, RGB image) in Bacgiang City to perform land cover classification using neural network method. The results show that it is possible to obtain land cover classes from LiDAR data. However, the highest accurate classification can be obtained using LiDAR data with other data set and the neural network classification is more appropriate approach to conventional method such as maximum likelyhood classification.

  • The recent advance of sensor networks and ubiquitous techniques allow collecting and analyzing of the data which overcome the limitation imposed by time and space in real-time for making decisions. Also, analysis and prediction of collected data can support useful and necessary information to users. The collected data in sensor networks environment is the stream data which has continuous, unlimited and sequential properties. Because of the continuous, unlimited and large volume properties of stream data, managing stream data is difficult. And the stream data needs dynamic processing method because of the memory constraint and access limitation. Accordingly, we analyze correlation stream data using principal component analysis. And using result of analysis, it helps users for making decisions.

  • This study is about the extraction of highway's superelevation using real time kinematic surveying among of GPS surveying methods which is economic method to construct data base in the side of highway maintain management. Using the developed vehicle, center line and shoulder of highway are measured and enough precision is obtained after analyzing the result. The result is show that 1.3 cm to 2.0 cm error in the clothed and about 0.8 cm to 1.2 cm error in the circular curve. Those errors are proved error to lane making during construction. This study is expected to become efficient method for extraction of highway alignment elements in the Mobile Mapping System.

  • National Geographic Information Institute provides VRS service using permanent GPS networks. VRS-RTK(Virtual Reference System-Real Time Kinematic)GPS surveying which enable to accomplish the real time-based GPS surveying has been increasingly popular. However the positioning accuracy tends to deteriorate as the distance between the rover and base station increases in the VRS-RTK GPS surveying. To analysis this problem in this study, the accuracy of VRS-RTK data was analyzed with 2 different test sites of Geoje city, Gyeongnam province within and without the permanent GPS networks in order to accomplish the cadastral supplementary control surveying. As a result of surveying accuracy analysis at two test sites, positioning errors were ${\pm}0.03m$(RMSE) in both sites. The result was that within the tolerance specified in cadastral surveying law, and indicated the possibility of VRS-RTK GPS surveying in cadastral surveying.

  • Men's desire for the human interface, due to the development of voice processing technology of computer, and the development of intelligent MMI (Man-Machine Interface) computer technology enabled us to operate computers with our voice without using keyboards or other input systems. Especially, by obtaining field data and layout from the complicated surveying environment and applying the voice recognition technology to the actual surveying work, we can save a lot of working hours and costs. According to the result of this study, the real time Geo-Coding and graphic data-coding were possible with only 25 words by connecting the software engine which recognizes 50,000 different words and the voice recognition technology based on the super IC which recognizes 60 different words with the Total-station and the RTK-GPS.

  • In this study, we utilized 2D conformal transformation method to give coordinatesbased on GPS surveying data to NAHMIS (National Highway Management Information System) drawings which are lack of coordinates. To determine the best method which is comparable with GPS digital map, we compared a transformation result obtained by unique parameters applied to the whole region of about 20 km of the NAHMIS drawings and the similar result of the tile based transformations. As the result of map joining, the error was within 2 m for both cases. In this way, NAHMIS can be used for a systematic management of construction drawings. Moreover, NAHMIS can contribute the management of highway and the data exchange between other systems by a unification of coordinate system.

  • In this study, the operation method and accuracy of Terrestrial Laser Scanner(TLS) are reviewed and discussed by experimental measurements, and guidelines of TLS surveying operation are proposed. Ground control points and TLS station points were measured by TS and/or GPS, in TLS observation experiments, and wood targets were used which designed by this study team. RMSE accuracy of TLS scan shows that TLS surveying operation can be used in the topographic mapping of 1/250 scale and level of 1/100 BIM, the drone data also used in TLS data completeness. Additionally, as the results of the field experiment, the guidelines for TLS surveying operartions were proposed.

  • This study aims to draw a technique for practical using of GPS surveying to decide the positions of cadastrial control points. GPS surveying is carried out at cadastrial triangulation points and supplementary control points. This paper includes characteristics of transformation of WGS84 into Tokyo datum, two dimensional solutions for GPS baseline vector, and combined solutions of both GPS and terrestrial data. As a results of this study, it is verifiable that GPS surveying is very efficient to check the existing control network. 2-D network adjustment technique using GPS baseline vector is applicable to Tokyo datum without coordinate transformation. And it is expected to improve efficiency by using either rapid-static or stop and go kinematic surveying in cadastrial surveying at small areas.

  • During the construction of crossing engineering one of the important measures to ensure the safety of subway operation is the implementation of deformation surveying to the existing subway tunnel. Guangzhou new subway line 2 engineering which crosses the existing tunnel is taken as the background. How to achieve intelligent and automatic deformation surveying forecast during the subway tunnel construction process is studied. Because large amount of surveying data exists in the subway construction, deformation analysis is difficult and prediction has low accuracy, a subway intelligent deformation prediction model based on the PBIL and support vector machine is proposed. The PBIL algorithm is used to optimize the exact key parameters combination of support vector machine though probability analysis and thereby the predictive ability of the model deformation is greatly improved. Through applications on the Guangzhou subway across deformation surveying deformation engineering the prediction method's predictive ability has high accuracy and the method has high practicality. It can support effective solution to the implementation of the comprehensive and accurate surveying and early warning under subway operation conditions with the environmental interference and complex deformation.

  • Aerial photo process with digital camera has some benefits. It is fast and simple by digital way in comparison with aerial photo based on film. Also it works with GPS/INS device to do direct geo-referencing, In this study, AT result from using direct exterior factors, exterior factors extracting from GPS/INS data and digital map and GCP is produced. In base on it, ortho images are produced and compared with surveying data.
