  • 3D-Printing is one of the most innovative technologies that will be widely used in the 21st century. 3D-Printing also serves as an indispensable tool in STEAM education. In this article, we introduce what we have done in our mathematical modeling class in Uni. and recent R&E project under the support of Korean Foundation for the Advancement of Science and Creativity. We planned a model of STEAM education originating from our wish to make tangible models that use mathematical formulas to express the natural beauty of an object. We used a free, open-source software, Sage, to simulate these models online. Then, we created a program that generates a .STL file from these 3D images. This model can help students understand the natural beauty inherent in mathematics and use formulas and technology tools to simulate models in 3D. Finally, we were able to help students to create their own. STL files through a website we developed by adding Sage code into a Sage notebook. Then students can make and hold a 3D object of their very own. This process shows the possibility that mathematics, art and 3D-Printing can be effectively used to achieve the goals of STEAM education.

  • This study analyzes the government-funded research institutions as players which derive inner transition based on technology, policy and market environment changes. In this study, the main case is KRICT(Korea Research Institute of Chemical Technology) which tries to make post catch-up innovation in the organization. This institution has attempted to overcome the limitation such as change of technology paradigm and PBS(Project Based System) since 2000's. Responding to the needs of technology convergence and innovation by the paradigm change, KRICT has reformed organization and R&D management system prospectively. And this institution sets the goal like development of natural friendly technologies, small and medium-sized business support, and providing countermeasures of social problems. This case shows possibility of continuous innovation. There are some structural limitation like budget restriction, multiple organization structure, and biased quantitative assessment, but endogenous efforts of government -funded institutions make the new paradigm of post catch-up innovation.

  • The embedded software has been become more important than the hardware in mobile systems in ubiquitous society. The improvement models such as CMMI(Capability Maturity Model Integration) and SPICE(Software Process Improvement and Capability dEtermination) are used to improve the quality of software in general systems. Software process improvement is also necessary for mobile embedded software development to improve its quality. It is not easy to apply the general software improvement model to the mobile embedded software development due to the high cost effectiveness and heavy process. On the other hand, XP has the characteristics on focused communications with customers and iteration development. It is specially suitable for mobile embedded software development as depending on customer's frequent requirement changes and hardware attributes. In this paper, we propose a framework for development small process improvement based XP(eXtreme Programming)'s practice in order to accomplish CMMI level 2 or 3 in mobile embedded software development at the small organizations. We design and implement the Mobile Embedded Software Process Improvement System(MESPIS) to support process improvement. We also suggest the evaluation method for the mobile embedded software development process improvement framework with CMMI coverage check by comparing other process improvement model. In the future, we need to apply this proposed framework to real project for practical effectiveness and the real cases quantitative. It also include the enhance the functionality of MESPIS.

  • In order to analyze the problems and improvement methods in the quality management of domestic apartment construction projects, this study derived the four barrier factors through relevant literature survey and interviews with construction practitioners. Among these four factors, which are 1) policies and regulations, 2) technologies, 3) human and organization, and 4) other miscellaneous aspects, the human and organization factor is the main focus of this survey and it was decomposed into perception, management system, education, and system on quality management according to the Taguchi's S/N theory to survey existing problems and suggest improvement methods for them. The survey on the quality perception showed that all the members need to cooperate actively, and CEO and chief construction managers should recognize the quality as the highest priority and act by themselves accordingly. The survey on the quality management showed that they need to reform their business process to reduce redundant tasks and miscommunications among participants. Quality education should be provided in a way that people at different management level can be educated differently with close relation to their practices. Quality systems should help corrective actions against quality problems at construction fields. Also with clear quality management implantation polices and objectives, the quality system should be established in order to support better communication among project stakeholders.

  • This qualitative study investigated how a music therapy program was experienced by juvenile offenders of school violence who were under a conditional suspension of indictment. Six adolescents participated in 12 consecutive weeks of group music therapy sessions, and were interviewed individually based on open-ended questions addressing key constructs of self-determination theory, which are autonomy, competence and relatedness. Using this framework, data was deductively analyzed using a modified grounded theory. The analysis also investigated how such impact of music therapy transferred or expanded to their everyday life. The analysis revealed that the properties of autonomy included making choices of songs and instruments, deciding how to play, and expressing opinions about music. Competence was associated with developing skills on musical instruments, creating own music, concentrating on their own project, and demonstrating their abilities. Relatedness were related to collaborating, exchanging opinions, and playing a part in musical projects. In addition, it was found that they also experienced shifts in consciousness and behavior, expanded self-awareness, and mutual exchange and group support. Lastly, it was revealed that the positive emotional and behavioral changes they experienced in music also appeared in their school life.

  • Purpose - Domestic cooperatives tend to increase during the establishment of cooperatives and gradually through the basic law of social needs. However, only cooperatives' qualitative grow this secured without blessings, and their quantitative growth through government support is questionable. The purpose of this study is to analyze the agricultural cooperatives established through the Distribution System Cooperatives Basic Law, which was enacted in January 2012. Subsequently, establishing agricultural cooperatives was done briskly. However, cooperatives established rapidly after the founding of the Basic Law encountered problems. Research design, data, and methodology - To assess the performance of selected agricultural cooperatives, data were analyzed using the methodological Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) approach. The AHP is a set of systematic procedures to hierarchically analyze the elements of any problem. Using a survey on expertise, a series of comparative determinations of each pair is performed to evaluate the relative strengths and the strengths of the impact between elements within the hierarchy. A survey was conducted on 10 small agricultural cooperatives using AHP analysis for the examination. The purpose of such research and analysis is to recommend a direction for future policies aimed at small agricultural cooperatives. Result - This study applied three types of policy evaluation criterion, including market expansions, organizations, and cooperative projects, and 12 types of small agricultural cooperative policy measures. Market expansion policies for agricultural cooperatives are classified into four categories: school meals, direct transactions, shopping malls, and wholesale markets. Organizational policies for agricultural cooperatives are classified into four types: existing sales channel management, education, preventing free riding, and enlarging members. Cooperative project policies in agricultural cooperatives are classified into four policy areas: cooperation between cooperatives, community contribution, joint businesses, and government links. In this paper, the growth priority in agricultural cooperative policies is analyzed by applying policy evaluation criteria on the basis of a survey on expertise. The priorities of the policy program are also analyzed using a decision analytic hierarchy process. The results indicate that market expansion is the most important policy evaluation criterion therefore, improving direct transactions, school meals, management of existing sales channels, and shopping malls are crucial policy measures. In contrast, the cooperation of cooperatives, expansion of union members, and cooperation with the government were found to have low priority. Conclusions - Agricultural cooperatives should develop plans as follows. Small agricultural cooperatives need to secure school meals and direct transactions for market expansion, restructure marketing strategies to manage existing sales channels, and, finally, increase education and training for sustainable organizational development. This study has the following limitations. Because the subject of the investigation is a new cooperative, determining its sustainable growth is difficult. Therefore, through analysis and a continuous study of cooperatives, future research is expected to show that modifying the direction of agriculture cooperatives is necessary.

  • At the spots of enterprises experiencing rapid environmental changes, necessity for ceaseless managemental innovation is raised. We can't deny that management quality is also a part of such managemental innovation. Introduction of management quality by an organization is different from introduction of other individual innovative techniques. Management quality is not one time project but complete historical change program to be pursued continuously. Furthermore, it must be understood as a strategic 'Quality Journey' looking for far future of an organization. Malcolm Baldrige Model has been increasingly used in Korea as a global standard for management quality. The model, however, has shown a number of limitations in application due to nonsystematic elements in the implementation process. The deployment process of the model should be detailed through a real world case study. In this research, we proposed a quality evaluation standard model which is suitable for the Korean public enterprise based on the Malcolm Baldrige Non-profit Criteria, and examined the model. A 7-Point Likert Scale was used based on the seven categories within the 2007 Malcolm Baldrige Non-profit Criteria: Leadership, Strategic Planning, Customer and Market Focus, Management Analysis and Knowledge Management, Workforce Focus, Process Management, and Results. Furthermore, we analysed the validity and causal relationship among the factors within the model. Through the above case study, following common factors for successful Malcolm Baldrige Model have been derived. The following is a summary of the results of this study. First, for Malcolm Baldrige Model management, needs powerful support Leadership. Second, for Malcolm Baldrige Model management, needs systematic Strategic Planning. Third, for Malcolm Baldrige Model management, needs the continuous Customer and Market Focus. Fourth, for Malcolm Baldrige Model management, needs systematic Measurement Analysis and Knowledge Management. Five, for Malcolm Baldrige Model management, needs systematic Workforce Focus. Six, for Malcolm Baldrige Model management, needs systematic Process Management. The finding are surely necessary factors to arrange the human resource management for upgraded management quality, those factors help to explain why all enterprises consider human resource as the strategic view.
