고주파 유도가열용 전원장치의 개발에 관한 연구 (A Study on Development of Power Supply for High Frequency Induction Heating)

  • This paper proposed LC resonant current fed high frequency inverter for high frequency induction heating using leakage inductance of transformer and, its described operating principle. The analysis of circuit presented by using normalized parameter in considering leakage inductance of transformer and, discussed characteristic evaluation of inverter circuit in detail. The proposed inverter is operating ZVS to reduce turn-on and turn-off loss of switching devices so, raised an efficiency. And, the experimental apparatus was made on base characteristic evaluation of theoretical analysis to discuss possibility on high frequency source and confirmed a rightfulness theoretical analysis. A result of study, the proposed inverter is higher utilizing factor using on leakage inductance of transformer and show possibility, which is application on high frequency power system.

가연성(可燃性) 물질(物質)의 중량(重量) 연소속도(燃燒速度) 측정(測定)에 관(關)한 실험적(實驗的) 연구(硏究) (An experimental study on measurement of combustion rate of combustible substances)

  • A study was performed on combustion rates of three kinds of combustible substances under a few different combustion conditions. To measure the combustion rates by weight method, I contrived an apparatus using a sensitive load cell. The experimental results by the combustion tests of various combustible substances shows that the combustion circumstances, eg., air supply condition and the existence of flammable oil. And it is found that the time constant T in case of oil absence is smaller than that in case of oil existence, and the time constant T in case of enforced air-entrained condition is greater that in case of natural air-entrained condition.

물혼합연료의 분사특성과 디젤연소에 미치는 영향 (Injection characteristics of emulsified fuel and effect on diesel combustion)

  • Many technologies have been developed to improve diesel emissions or performance, however NOx/PM trade-off occurs because normal methods that reduce NOx emissions tend to increase PM emissions. On the other hand many measures used to control PM emissions tend to increase NOx emissions. Thus, simultaneously controlling both NOx and PM emissions has become a significant challenge for diesel engine manufacturers. As one of the measures, the technology using emulsified fuel has recently become important under the stringent emission regulations of diesel engines. This paper investigates injection characteristics of emulsified fuel and its effect on a combustion performance in a diesel engine. In order to supply emulsified fuel into injection system a mixing unit produced by Harrier is used, then the fuel mixed with water is supplied into injector directly. The spray injected is investigated with a shadowgraph photo system and injection analyzing apparatus, then applied into a diesel engine. Those results showed that the emulsified fuel has an effect on reducing both NOx and PM.

  • KEPCO has a plan to construct TRF (tritium removal facility) in wolsong nuclear power plant site by 2005. In advance of WTRF construction, the pilot plant was installed at KEPRI in order to show process reliability of WTRF. The main processes of this pilot plant are LPCE(liquid phase catalytic exchange) and CD (cryogenic distillation). Deuterium is separated from heavy water in LPCE process and concentrated in CD process. CD process consists of cold box, where are a distillation column and heat exchangers, vacuum system, cryogenic refrigerant supply system and instrument & control system. The experience of the pilot plant will be used in WTRF design review, operating procedure revision and fundamental education for the operators.

  • Superconductors are dissipative when exposed to time-varying magnetic fields. To analyze the AC characteristics of a superconductor, one usually needs to know magnetization curves of it. Good magnetization curves can be obtained only in homogeneous magnetic filed. In This paper, we report the setup and test results of a magnetization measurement system, which consists mainly of frequency-variable power supply and homeogenous magnet with 7-cm long air gap. Special emphasis are foused on the design and fabrication of the magnet, which aims to give background magnetic fields, and on the overall characteristics of the system.

  • Augmentation of CHF by ultrasonic is experimentally studied under subcooling pool boiling condition. Experiment is carried out for downward-facing plate with and without the ultrasonic. The working fluid is distilled water. Experimental apparatus is composed of a bath, power supply, test section, ultrasonic generator, DAQ system. Experiment is performed with the subcooling temperature of $5^{\circ}C$, $20^{\circ}C$, $40^{\circ}C$ and the inclined angle of $0^{\circ}$, $10^{\circ}$, $20^{\circ}$, $45^{\circ}$, 90. From the experimental results, it is found that ultrasonic effect enhances CHF of the downward-facing plate. As increasing the degree of subcooling, the rate of CHF increase is enhanced. As increasing the inclined angle, the rate of CHF increase decreases. Also, we can see that the heat transfer mechanism of CHF augmentation is closely connected with the dynamic behavior of bubble generation and departure.

Silk Spinning Apparatuses in the Cribellate Spider Nurscia albofasciata (Araneae: Titanoecidae)

  • The fine structural characteristics of the silk spinning apparatus in the titanoecid spiders Nurscia albofasciata have been examined by the field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM). This titanoecid spiders have a pair of medially divided cribella just in front of the anterior spinnerets, and the surface of the cribellum is covered by hundred of tiny spigots which produce numerous cribellate silk fibrils. The cribellar silks are produced from the spigots of the sieve-like prate. and considered as a quite different sort of catching silk with dry-adhesive properties. The other types of the silk spigots were identified as follows: ampullate, pyriform and aciniform glands. Two pairs of major ampullate glands send secretory ductules to the anterior spinnerets, and another 1-2 pairs of minor ampullate glands supply the middle spinnerets. In addition, the pyriform glands send ductules to the anterior spinnerets, and two kinds of the aciniform spigots feed silk into the middle (A type) and the posterior spinnerets (both of A & B types), respectively.

  • This study describes the minimum ignition limit for LPG-Ai-r mixtures by switching sparks in radio-frequency limits using RF power supply and IEC type ignition spark apparatus. As a result, the minimum ignition limit voltage is increased in proportional to the rate of increasing of frequency in LPG-Air mixed gas. Especially, increment between 10[kHz] and 30[kHz] is typical. It is considered that ignition is caused by one discharge until 10 [kHz] and, beyond 10[kHz] ignition is caused by more than two discharges. The reason is analysed that energy loss is caused by existing pause interval between discharges.

  • Recently, heating using oil and gas has been continuously replaced by that using midnight power in home, due to increase of oil price. Therefore, midnight power apparatus has been more and more spreading. However, cost of midnight power services is increasing because high fuel cost of generation facilities by existing power generation mix are charge of midnight power services. This paper analyzes trends about rapidly increasing midnight power in winter, and evaluate load pattern and supply cost of midnight power. Also, this study proposes rate direction of midnight power according to introduction of competitiveness system with B/C evaluation of midnight power cost.

진공 펌프 성능 평가 계통의 동적 응답 (Dynamic Response of the System for Vacuum Pump Performance Evaluation)

  • The demand of vacuum pump has been increased in the process of semi-conduct manufacturing, as a core component. The response of the system for vacuum pump performance test can be utilized to assess the system and to obtain the reliability of the apparatus for the test. The system consists of gas supply tank, pressure chamber, measurement chamber and transmission line. Transient analysis for compressible fluid has been conducted to evaluate the dynamic characteristic of the volume terminated transmission line. Numerical approach based on the method of characteristics is used for the analysis. The response is evaluated with the important parameters for the system: i.e., length and diameter of the line, volume of the terminal tank. Using the numerical results, pumping speeds are calculated and then compared to the experimental results.
