Purpose: This study aimed to evaluate the clinical usefulness of non-invasive prenatal testing (NIPT) as an alternative testing of invasive diagnostic testing in pregnancies with ultrasound abnormalities. Materials and Methods: This was a retrospective study of pregnant women with abnormal ultrasound findings before 24 weeks of gestation between April 2016 and March 2017. Abnormal ultrasound findings included isolated increased nuchal translucency, structural anomalies, and soft markers. The NIPT or diagnostic test was conducted and NIPT detected trisomy 21 (T21), T18, T13 and sex chromosomal abnormalities. We analyzed the false positive and residual risks of NIPT based on the ultrasound findings. Results: During the study period, 824 pregnant women had abnormal ultrasound findings. Among the study population, 139 patients (16.9%) underwent NIPT. When NIPT was solely performed in the patients with abnormal ultrasound findings, overall false positive risk was 2.2% and this study found residual risks of NIPT. However, the discordant results of NIPT differed according to the type of abnormal ultrasound findings. Discordant results were significant in the group with structural anomalies with 4.4% false positive rate. However, no discordant results were found in the group with single soft markers. Conclusion: This study found different efficacy of NIPT according to the ultrasound findings. The results emphasize the importance of individualized counseling for prenatal screening or diagnostic test based on the type of abnormal ultrasound.
Background: The musculoskeletal disorders with asymmetrical gait on the whole body are the most common. This study was designed to analyze that General Coordinative Manipulation Intervention Models would affect the balanced restoration of asymmetrical gait. Methods: 68 healthy volunteers(1st hypothesis: 46, 2nd hypothesis 22) participated in the two GCM intervention models, which have performed 2 times a week for 3 weeks. Digital Camera was used to measure the gait, and measurements were performed before and after the application of the each intervention model. Repeated measured ANOVA was used to determine a statistical significance. Results: The outcome of examining hypothesis is as follows: 1. The 1st hypothesis : GCM Intervention based on the coordinating the flexion type of upper body and the extension type of lower body will improve in the balanced restoration of asymmetrical gait because it offers a clear direction for treatment(p<.05). 2. The 2nd hypothesis: GCM Intervention based on the coordinating the flexion type of lower body and the extension type of upper body will improve in the balanced restoration of asymmetrical gait because it offers a clear direction for treatment(p<.05). Conclusion: GCM intervention programs on the two hypothesis groups have effects on the balanced restoration of asymmetrical gait(p<.05).

The genetic diversity of three Hanwoo populations was analyzed using 11 microsatellite (MS) markers for the traceability of Hanwoo beef in this study. A total of 1,099 Hanwoo cattle from two populations (694 line-breeding and 405 general Hanwoo) at the Hanwoo Research Institute (HRI) of the National Institute of Animal Science and 1,171 Korean proven bulls (KPNs) were used for the analysis. Specific alleles of four markers (ETH10, INRA23, TGLA122, and TGLA227) were identified only in the line-breeding population, although at a low allele frequency (0.001 - 0.02). The genetic distance (Nei's D) between line-breeding Hanwoo and KPN was the greatest (0.064), whereas general Hanwoo and KPN were relatively close genetically (0.02); the distance between line-breeding and general Hanwoo was found to be 0.054. These results are expected because the HRI has performed closed breeding via selecting its line-breeding sires without utilizing KPN since 2009. Therefore, the line-breeding Hanwoo population of HRI show different genetic diversity from the KPN population, based on the 11 MS markers. The results of this study provide basic data for securing the genetic diversity of Hanwoo cattle and utilizing line-breeding Hanwoo cattle from the HRI.
Purpose: This study aimed to investigate a clinical effect of Coo-Sun activity focusing on improvement of quality of life in female cancer patients. Methods: The subject of study consisted of 5 female cancer patients at the East-West Cancer Center of OO Oriental hospital. The survey methods of this study are Functional Assessment of Cancer Therapy-General (FACT-G) and State-Trait Anxiety Inventory (STAI). Patients performed Coo-Sun activity 6 times a week and filled out FACT-G and STAI questionnaire after every 3 times training. Results: In FACT-G questionnaire, physical well-being and emotional wellbeing was improved significantly after Coo-Sun activity. And change of social/family well-being and functional well-being score were not significant statistically. In STAI questionnaire, STAI1 was improved significantly after Coo-Sun activity. And change of STAI2 score was not significant statistically. Conclusion: After Coo-Sun activity, quality of life (QOL) in female cancer patients was improved and anxiety was decreased. But this study have limitation to prove effects of Coo-Sun activity completely in female cancer patients. So well designed prospective cohort study will be needed to prove its benefits.
In Korea, cases of direct insertion of foreign bodies into the rectum are rare in the literature. Most cases of rectal insertion of foreign bodies are associated with sexual acts and psychiatric disorder such as schizophrenia. Objects inserted into the anus are usually blunt and shaped like the male genitalia. The removal method can be varied depending on the size and shape of the foreign object, its anatomical location, and the accompanying complications. In cases wherein attempts to remove the object fail or there are rectal perforation and peritonitis complications, immediate laparotomy may be required in order to prevent serious complications such as sepsis. Here, we report on a case of rectal perforation and peritonitis due to insertion of a foreign body in a middle-aged patient, with a literature review. He inserted a sharp pig backbone in his rectum and he only had depression. The patient underwent a Hartmann's operation as well as psychiatric counseling and treatment. Thus, after removal of foreign bodies, psychiatric counseling and treatment should be carried out in order to prevent similar accidents and to minimize the need for trauma medicine.
Pigment concentrates with violet-red color and sweet taste were obtained from purple-fleshed sweet potato(PFSP) using ethyl alcohol and water. Extract from general potato(GP) were used as a control. The relative stability of PFSP pigment concentrate(PFSPPC) in a storage test over 15 days was confirmed in the order of dark > fluorescence > sun-light irradiation. The relative stability of GP pigment concentrate(GPPC) in a storage test over 15 days was confirmed in the order of sun-light > fluorescence > dark storage. The RRP of PFSPPC was higher than that of GPPC, but the color strength of GPPC was 1/2 that of PFSPPC. Treatment of PFSPPC with aluminum potassium sulfate(0.2~0.3%, w/w) best improved its stability. The improved RRPs of PFSPPC were 45.16~47.31% in sun light irradiation, 55.91~60.22% in fluorescence irradiation, and 76.34~75.97% in dark storage conditions. In substituting aluminum potassium sulfate for chitosan, an amount of 0.2~0.3%(w/w) was suitable, giving similar results in improving pigment stability for all concentrates tested. Also, freeze-dried PFSPPC powder was manufactured as a substitute for dextrin, and also as a substitute for chitosan to the extent of 0.25%(w/w). The results of storage stabilite for freeze-dried PFSPPC and GPPC powder over 15 days, irradiation were, PRRs of 74.47~89.36% and 61.54~76.92%, respectively. The stability improving effect of freeze dried PFSPPC powder was confirmed by the results of storage experiments at various conditions. The use of freeze-dried PFSPPC powder was therefore confirmed to be an effective treatment for general foods.

This study, at first we extracted natural dyes from seaweed(Sargassum thunbergii, Hizikia fusiforme, Sargassum horneri). Then. we dyed cotton, wool, and silk with the extracted dyes. This study purposes to find the best one for dyeing with seaweed in order to develop a more efficient method of dyeing with seaweed and investigates the colorfastness to washing, light, sun protection factor, antibiotic activities, deodorization after mordanting treatment. of seaweed. The mission of general agricultural education is to prepare and support individuals for careers, build awareness, and develop leadership for the food, fiber, and natural resource systems. In response to the changes of the recognition and attitude toward agriculture, agricultural education also should be developed and adapted to the circumstances. And The Researcher took an observation on color change, color fastness to washing and color fastness to light after mordanting treatment. And the following results have been obtained. 1) Dyed cotton, wool, and silk fabrics with the extract of seaweed are generally brown. 2) Wool. silk, and cotton, in this order, are of good dyeability; Wool fabrics have the highest dyeability and cotton fabrics have the lowest. 3) Colorfastness to washing, light, sun protection factor, antimicrobial activity acessment, deodorization are all high. 4) The seaweed-dyed fabrics were shown to have much higher sun protection factor than the non-dyed fabrics, and the seaweed-dyed fabrics with mortanting treatment showed the following result; ranged from anged from from 93.1% to grade 99.2%. 5) The seaweed-dyed fabrics were shown to have much higher antibiosis than the non-dyed fabrics, and the seaweed-dyed fabrics with mortanting treatment showed the following result; ranged from 91.3% to grade 99.9%. 6) The seaweed-dyed fabrics were shown to have much higher deodorization than the non-dyed fabrics, and the seaweed-dyed fabrics with mortanting treatment showed 99.9%.
We got the following results from the 324 radiologic technologists as we surveyed their working condition by using the questionaire, who were working in the medical institutions (general hospitals and doctor's clinics) situated in the area of Seoul city, Kyung ki-do and Chung-chong-do since June to December 1985. 1. Their daily average working time was almost within 10 hours (in 93.9% of general hospitals, 66.1% of clinics). 2. About the numbers of holidays, 85.5% of general hospitals have one holiday per week,41.3% of clinics have one holiday per week or 38.5% of clinics have one holiday per two weeks. 3. Duty appointment of radiologic technologists in the department of radiology is taking charge of each part after serving for a certain part for some period (42.8%), taking charge of the special part continually or by turns in other working parts (35.3%). On the other hand in the clinics they took charge of all parts continually (53.2%) or by turns with their own situations. (30.3%). 4. Their daily working amount is too much in 51.6% of general hospitals or 45.8% of clinics. 5. They answered it was hard in 81.4% of general hospitals or 43.1% of clinics about the degree of difficulty of their work. 6. Their monthly salary is higher in the clinics than in the general hospitals and higher in Seoul area than in Kyung-ki or Chung-chong area. 7. Their yearly bonus .ate is 400%-600% (69.2%) in almost general hospitals, 100%-300% (57.8%) in th. clinics. 8. Danger allowance is paid with the monthly salary in 62.8% of the general hospitals or 19.2% of clinics and license allowance is paid in 44.7% of general hospitals or in 12.8% of clinics. 9. Their initial salary (except bonus) is about 200,000 won (in 76.8% of general hospitals, in 67.8% of clinics). 10. Their salary is raised regulary every year in 52.6% of general hospitals, but it is irregulary in 73.4% of clinics. 11. Promotion system is managed in 48.4% of the general hospitals or in 14.7% of clinics. 12. Retirement allowance is assured in 96.9% of the general hospitals or in 63.3% of clinics. 13. Main cause of their retirement is moving to more paid hospitals, better hospitals in working condition or facilities, moving to another cities, to the hospitals with more opportunities of promotion or choosing other jobs etc. 14. Human relationship with doctors, nurses or co-worker technologists as a member of medical team appeared almost intimate and good.

Purpose: Child safety seats (CSS) are critical for the protection of children, in case of motor vehicle accidents. Although the national legislation mandates that all newborns must be placed in an appropriately installed CSS during transportation, people often do not perceive the importance of CSS and do not use it as recommended. The purpose of this survey was to understand the use of CSS for the safe transport of newborns from hospital to home. Methods: We interviewed parents of newborn infants, using a structured questionnaire, at the time of their discharge from Cheil General Hospital & Women's Health Care Center, between May 2014 and July 2014. Results: A total of 403 participants were interviewed. The rate of CSS use was only 14.9%. Overall, 76.4% of the families interviewed were not aware about the recommendations on CSS use for newborns when travelling in a car. The provision of education on using CSS significantly influenced their rate of use. Parents who were educated about mounting the CSS in a car used it more as compared with others (25.7% vs. 12.2%) (P=0.002). Furthermore, if parents had heard about the importance or necessity of CSS, they used it more than others did (19.5% vs. 10.6%, P=0.032). Conclusion: Despite the legal regulation, most parents transport their newborn infants without a CSS while traveling from hospital to their home. The rate of CSS use was influenced by parental education and their knowledge about its necessity. Education programs for parents must be reinforced to increase the CSS use.

Granular cell tumor is characterized by large eosinophilic cells with granular appearances. These are mostly benign. Approximately $1\sim2%$ are malignant, and establishment of reliable criteria for diagnosing malignant granular cell tumor has been difficult to establish because oi the rarify. Reports on the cytologic features of this neoplasm are hardly found in Korea. We report a case of rarely-occurring granular cell tumor in the lower leg of a 40-year-old male, diagnosed on fine needle aspiration cytology, together with a review of the literature regarding significant adverse histology and prognostic factors. The aspirates revealed cellular smears of isolated cells, syncytial clusters, and occasionally stripped nuclei in a nine, bluish-purple, granular background. Tumor cells were polygonal, rounded, or slightly spindled, and showed ill-defined granular cytoplasm. Nuclei were small and round or oval, with inconspicuous or small, prominent nucleoli. The nuclei showed rare intranuclear cytoplasmic invagination. Occasionally, there were mild to moderate nuclear pleomorphisms with vesicular nuclei, with large, prominent nucleoi, but no mitosis. The immunocytochemical stain for S-100 was strongly positive in the cytoplasm of tumor cells with occasional nuclei.
