WiMAX용 LDPC 복호기의 비트오율 성능 분석 (An analysis of BER performance of LDPC decoder for WiMAX)

  • 본 논문에서는 WiMAX용 LDPC(Low-Density Parity Check) 복호기의 비트오율 성능 분석을 통해 최적 설계 사양을 도출하였다. LLR SPA(LLR Sum-Product Algorithm)을 근사화 시킨 최소합 알고리듬(Min-Sum Algorithm; MSA)을 Matlab으로 모델링한 후, 시뮬레이션을 통해 LLR 비트 폭과 최대 반복 복호 횟수에 따른 비트오율(Bit Error Rate; BER) 성능을 분석하였다. 모델링된 LDPC 복호기는 IEEE 802.16e 표준에 제안된 블록길이 2304, 부호화율 1/2인 PCM(Parity Check Matrix)을 사용하였으며, QPSK 변조와 백색 가우시안 잡음채널 하에서 시뮬레이션 하였다. 비트오율 성능을 분석한 결과, LLR 비트 폭은 (8,6)이고 반복 복호 횟수는 7인 경우에 비트오율 성능이 가장 우수함을 확인하였다.

거주지역 실내공기 특성 및 이산화질소 노출에 관한 연구 (Residence s Exposure to Nitrogen Dioxide and Indoor Air Characteristics)

  • Indoor air quality is affected by source strength of pollutants, ventilation rate, decay rate, outdoor level and so on. Although technologies exist to measure these factors directly, direct measurements of all factors are impractical in most field studies. The purpose of this study was to develop an alternative methods to estimate these factors by multiple measurements. Daily indoor and outdoor NO$_2$concentrations for 21 days in 20 houses in summer and winter, Seoul. Using a mass balance model and linear regression analysis, penetration factor (ventilation divided by sum of air exchange rate and deposition constant) and source strength factor(emission rate divided by sum of air exchange rate and deposition constant) were calculated. Subsequently, the ventilation and source strength were estimated. During sampling period, geometric mean of natural ventilation was estimated to be 1.10$\pm$1.53 ACH, assuming a residential NO$_2$decay rate of 0.8 hr$^{-1}$ in summer. In winter, natural ventilation was 0.75$\pm$1.31 ACH. And mean source strengths in summer and winter were 14.8ppb/hr and 22.4ppb/hr, respectively. Although the method showed similar finding previous studies, the study did not measure ACH or the source strength of the house directly. As validation of natural ventilations, infiltrations were measured with $CO_2$tracer gas in 18 houses. Relationship between ventilation and infiltration was statistically correlated (Pearson r=0.63, p=0.02).

우리나라 항공화물 운송수요 예측에 관한 연구 (A Study on Forecasting of Air Freight in Korea)

  • Generally, air freight forecasting model used to major factor GNP(GDP), Yield, Exchange rate, as its independent variables. We studied about the factors that affect to Air Freight in Korea, and we found six affective variables. Those are GNP, Exchange rate, Flight routes, Flight numbers, Sum of dollars Export and import. To find the relationship between the Air Freight and GNP, Exchange rate, Flight routes, Flight numbers, Sum of dollars Export and import we used regression analysis. Through the regression analysis, we found some problems in the model. There are collieneraities between the variables, so we took the variables selection model to choose the best affective variables of air cargo. We have defined the the Korean air freight forecasting model with two variables and forecast far the $1996{\sim}2010$ period were made by using this model.

On the Almost Certain Rate of Convergence of Series of Independent Random Variables

  • The rate of convergence to a random variable S for an almost certainly convergent series $S_n = \sum^n_{j=1} X_j$ of independent random variables is studied in this paper. More specifically, when $S_n$ converges to S almost certainly, the tail series $T_n = \sum^{\infty}_{j=n} X_j$ is a well-defined sequence of random variable with $T_n \to 0$ a.c. Various sets of conditions are provided so that for a given numerical sequence $0 < b_n = o(1)$, the tail series strong law of large numbers $b^{-1}_n T_n \to 0$ a.c. holds. Moreover, these results are specialized to the case of the weighted i.i.d. random varialbes. Finally, example are provided and an open problem is posed.

Average Rate Performance of Two-Way Amplify-and-Forward Relaying in Asymmetric Fading Channels

  • A two-way relaying (TWR) system is analyzed, where two source terminals with unequal numbers of antennas exchange data via an amplify-and-forward relay terminal with a single antenna. In the system considered herein, the link quality between the sources and relay can generally be asymmetric due to the nonidentical antenna configuration, power allocation, and relay location. In such a general setup, accurate bounds on the average sum rate (ASR) are derived when beamforming or orthogonal space time block coding is employed at the sources. We show that the proposed bounds are almost indistinguishable from the exact ASR under various system configurations. It is also observed that the ASR performance of the TWR system with unequal numbers of source antennas is more sensitive to the relay location than to the power allocation.

  • A field trial of norfloxacin on bovine 206, swine 222 and poultry 205 with respiratory diseases and diarrhea was conducted from Sept 1, 1990 to Jan 30, 1991 in Inchon and Kyonggi-do. The results are as follows. 1. Guinea pigs and rabbits were dosages 10 and 20 times normal. Ten days of observation saw no side effect. 2. Oral treatment on bovine, swine and poultry showed a curing rate of 82.00∼89.06%(Mean 86.00%), compared with 87.27∼96.36%(Mean 92.24%) by Injection. 3. The curing rate was 81.92% by the fourth treatment. 4. The curing rate with and without the use of adjuvant was 80.00∼100% and 83.60∼93. 10%, respectively, for swine, and 81.82∼100% and 82.00∼97.14% for bovine. 5. The curing rate was more dependent on seriousness of illness, environment and time than age. 6. The main disease causing bacteria of bovine respiratory diseases: Haemolytic Sta 27.62%, Haemolytic Str 33.33%, sum of this bacteria is 60.95%, diarrhea: Haemolytic coliform 80.20%, swine respiratory diseases; Haemophilus Spp 20.95%, Haemolytic Sta 72%, Haemolytic Str 21.90%, Sum of these bacteria is 68.57%, diarrhea; Haemolytic coliform 57.26%, poultry respiratory diseases; mycoplasma Spp 29.52%, Haemolytic Sta 13.33%, Sum of this bacteria is 42.85%, diarrhea; Haemolytic coliform 53.00%. 7. The curing rate of norfloxacin by species of strain, the unidentified bacteria on bovine respiratory diseases was the lowest with 77.78%, the others ranged from 84.21% to 100% with most of them over 90%. 8. The loss of clinical sign on bovine and swine was the highest when after 2∼4 application. 9. In terms of antibiotic sensitivity test, norfloxacin was the highest with 84.62∼100% (mean 90.09%) among eight bacterias, only 5 of 15 antibiotics had a sensitivity of over 56.25%, showing a high degree of tolerance.

Estimation of NO$_2$ Source Generation and Ventilation rate in Residence by Multiple Measurements

The purpose of this study was to develop an alternative method to characterize indoor environmental factors by multiple indoor and outdoor measurements. Daily indoor and outdoor $NO_2$ concentrations were measured for 30 consecutive days in 28 houses in Brisbane, Australia, and for 21 consecutive days in 37 houses in Seoul, Korea. Using a mass balance model and regression analysis, penetration factor (ventilation rate divided by the sum of ventilation rate and deposition constant) and source strength factor (source strength divided by the sum of ventilation rate and deposition constant) were calculated using multiple indoor and outdoor measurements. Subsequently, the ventilation rate and $NO_2$ source strength were estimated. Geometric means of ventilation rate were 1.44 ACH in Brisbane, assuming a residential $NO_2$ deposition constant of 1.05 $hr^{-1}$, and 1.36 ACH in Seoul, with the measured residential $NO_2$ deposition constant of 0.94 $hr^{-1}$. Source strengths of $NO_2$ were 15.8 $\pm$ 18.2 ${\mu}g$/$m^3$.hr and 44.7 $\pm$ 38.1${\mu}g$/$m^3$.hr in Brisbane and Seoul, respectively. In conclusion, indoor environmental factors were effectively characterized by this method using multiple indoor and outdoor measurements.

대역별로 여과한 음성 강도의 차이값과 상관계수에 의한 화자확인 연구 (A Study on Speaker Identification by Difference Sum and Correlation Coefficient of Intensity Levels from Band-pass Filtered Sounds)

  • This study attempted to examine a speaker identification method using difference sum and correlation coefficient determined from a pair of intensity level matrices of band-pass-filtered numeric sounds produced by ten female speakers of similar age and height. Subjects recorded three digit numbers at a quiet room at a sampling rate of 22 kHz on a personal computer. Collected data were band-pass-filtered at five different band ranges. Then, matrices of five intensity levels at 100 proportional time points were obtained. Pearson correlation coefficients and the sum of absolute intensity differences between a pair of given matrices were determined within and across the speakers. Results showed that very high correlation coefficient and small difference sum generally occurred within each speaker but some individual variation was also observed. Thus, the matrix pair with a higher coefficient and a smaller difference sum was averaged to form each individual's model. Comparison among the speakers yielded generally low coefficients and large differences, which suggests successful speaker identification, but among them there were a few cases with very high coefficients and small differences. Future studies will focus on finer band ranges and additional spectral parameters at some peak points of the intensity contour at a low frequency band.

A Kinetic Monte Carlo Simulation of Individual Site Type of Ethylene and α-Olefins Polymerization

  • The aim of this work is to study Monte Carlo simulation of ethylene (co)polymerization over Ziegler-Natta catalyst as investigated by Chen et al. The results revealed that the Monte Carlo simulation was similar to sum square error (SSE) model to prediction of stage II and III of polymerization. In the case of activation stage (stage I) both model had slightly deviation from experimental results. The modeling results demonstrated that in homopolymerization, SSE was superior to predict polymerization rate in current stage while for copolymerization, Monte Carlo had preferable prediction. The Monte Carlo simulation approved the SSE results to determine role of each site in total polymerization rate and revealed that homopolymerization rate changed from site to site and order of center was different compared to copolymerization. The polymer yield was reduced by addition of hydrogen amount however there was no specific effect on uptake curve which was predicted by Monte Carlo simulation with good accuracy. In the case of copolymerization it was evolved that monomer chain length and monomer concentration influenced the rate of polymerization as rate of polymerization reduced from 1-hexene to 1-octene and increased when monomer concentration proliferate.
