As the size of software becomes larger and the features of it become complex. it is really hard to successfully complete the project without following development guidelines. Software process is the best practices and procedures that organizations of high maturity and capability of software development carry out in common, and it is a set of progressive ideas of management. However, complicated and unfamiliar concepts can interrupt the introduction and improvement of software process of the organizations. Even though many kinds of frameworks such as standard of process and maturity measurement models are introduced, it is still difficult to follow software process without fully understanding their relations. The purpose of this study is to support successful internalization of organizations that introduce and use software process. It also suggests the design of standard ontology, standard relationship domain ontology, and the lifestyle of software process and the relations between them.

The PPPs(public private partnerships) which was introduced in the later part of the 1990s has grown since 2005, with the beginning of BTL(Build Transfer Lease) type which retrieves the investment by receiving the lease payment from the government. As application areas and scale of the PPPs have been further expanded, it is expected the demand on special purpose facilities will be increased. We do know only successful foreign practices of the PPPs but have rarely consider the failure cases. Therefore, this paper derives implications by analyzing the case of National physical laboratory project which is known as a typical failure case of UK's PFI. We find that from the perspective of governance, the reasons leading to the failure of business are an insufficient of technical rationality, unsettled social relationships and inefficient risk management. Based on the case study, this study shows how to improve management system for special purpose PPPs business in Korea.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the characteristics of the foodservice management practices, the equipment ratio of sanitary facility/equipment, and dietitians' perceptions of (i) the barriers to sanitary management and (ii) the sanitary management performance level in the welfare institutions for the disabled in Korea. The survey was conducted during the period from September 7 to October 15, 2006. A total of 91 institutions(response rate 74.6%) were analyzed by using SPSS(windows ver. 14.0). The average number of meals served per day per an institution was 379. The majority(93.4%) of dietitians made decisions in procurement. The major part of the purchase was made through private contract. The factors affecting menu planning were nutrition, food preference, and cost, in the order of importance. Among the food items, fruits were infrequently served, while protein source foods and green leaf vegetables were almost daily served. The equipment ratio of sanitary facilities/equipment was 45%, which was relatively low. Most dietitians perceived 'limited availability of facilities and equipment' and 'the lack of support from financing department' as the major barriers in implementing a desirable sanitary system. Sanitary management performance in 'the food ingredient' was perceived as the lowest, while that in 'the uniform' showed the highest. The results of this study suggest that a proper supporting program on securing the facility/equipment and adequately trained employees are needed for successful sanitary management. Also, a more frequent supply of fruits for the disabled is recommended.
Recently we witnessed a few scandals on plagiarism among academic paper and novels. Plagiarism on documents is getting worse more frequently. Although plagiarism on English had been studied so long time, we hardly find the systematic and complete studies on plagiarisms in Korean documents. Since the linguistic features of Korean are quite different from those of English, we cannot apply the English-based method to Korean documents directly. In this paper, we propose a new plagiarism detecting method for Korean, and we throughly tested our algorithm with one benchmark Korean text corpus. The proposed method is based on "k-mer" and "local alignment" which locates the region of plagiarized document pairs fast and accurately. Using a Korean corpus which contains more than 10 million words, we establish a probability model (or local alignment score (random similarity by chance). The experiment has shown that our system was quite successful to detect the plagiarized documents.
The total asset management system is used for banks or financial institutions for the management of trusteed assets or own assets and it is divided into three systems: the front-office system, the middle-office system and the back-office system by its business areas and functionalities. This kind of asset management system is a huge and complex system handling large data and various financial products, and requires professional knowledges like accounting, financial product specific knowledge, compliance and regulations, etc. It also performs high level computation for NAV calculation and risk measurement on every day Therefore, it needs absolute stability, extendability and efficiency and should handle the frequent change of regulation and products and connectivity with outdoor institutions. In this paper, we report our successful development of such a system and discuss issues regarding its efficient system design and system construction.
The Agile movement is a phenomenon that is part of the next phase of the software engineering evolution. At the same time, globally distributed software development is another trend delivering high-quality software to global users at lower costs. In this paper, Agile Framework for Distributed Software Development (AFDSD) has been suggested, and Chameleon project of Yahoo! Inc. has been implemented based on the framework. Also, the project has been evaluated by measuring Agile adoption and improvement levels, degrees of agility and agile project success, and comparing the performance and quality with the previous version. The overall performance and satisfaction with Chameleon increased by more than 30% since Agile techniques were adopted. Our objective is to highlight successful practices and suggest a framework to support adoption and evaluation of Agile techniques in a distributed environment.
Background: In Korea, the breastfeeding (BF) rate of infants aged 6 months or more is drastically decreasing, and this phenomenon is particularly worrisome for the future health of the population. The present study aimed to identify an antenatal strategy for initiation and continuation of human BF, and to identify how Baby-Friendly Hospitals (BFHs) may positively influence the intention to breastfeed. Methods: A total of 414 pregnant Korean antenatal women were surveyed using questionnaires to determine current knowledge of the benefits of human breast milk, whether they planned to breastfeed after delivery, to continue BF after reinstatement in the workforce, are willing to abide by rooming-in care for infants, and plan to give birth at BFHs. Results: We found that planning room-in care, greater awareness of BF benefits for infant and mother, participation in antenatal education programs, and provision of BF facilities in the workplace were positively associated with plans for exclusive breastfeeding (EBF) and longer BF duration. The mothers who planned to give birth at BFHs also desired to breastfeed immediately after birth, implement in-room care, continue BF at their workplace, participate in antenatal BF educational programs, and were more aware of the benefits of BF. Conclusion: If the beneficial effects of BFHs were well known to individuals, these would enhance the success rate of BF in Korea. Antenatal education and consequent acquisition of better knowledge of the benefits of BF are important for increasing the rate of BF practices.
Recently, due to the rising incidence of disasters in the nation, there has been a growing interest in the relevance and role of science and technology in solving disaster and safety related issues. In addition, the necessities of securing the human rights of all citizens in disaster risk reduction, identifying fields of technology development for effective disaster response, and improving the efficiency of R&D investment for disaster and safety are becoming more important as the different types of disasters and stages of disaster and safety management process have been considered. In this study, we analyzed bipartite or two-mode networks constructed from an expert survey dataset of technology development for disaster and safety management. The results reveal that earthquake and fire are the two disasters affecting an individual and society at large and demonstrate that AI and big data analytics are effective supports in managing disaster and safety. We believe that such a network analytic approach can be used to explore some important implications exist for the national science and technology effort and successful disaster and safety management practices in Korea.

In this study, the purpose of the research is to present a cooperative convergence education Capstone design operational model that can promote community relations by spreading excellent practices through governmental, academic, and civil cooperation, ultimately contributing to the development of systematic plans among cooperative groups for successful promotion, and the production high effects in the fashion sector. The case study presented a new model that combines convergence in interdisciplinary studies, focusing on the case study of the "Fashion Capstone Design" textbook. The characteristics of the proposed model suggested three types of convergence- the convergence of government, academia and private cooperation, and the convergence of academic and civil organizations, depending on their role. The proposed educational model has the advantage of complementing and dealing with the difficulties presented by interdisciplinary education. It also has the effect of activating community linkages with colleges in the community. In addition, the effectiveness of community colleges and community links can be optimized. Through the example of this study, we look forward to being used as a references for a variety of cooperative convergence education capstone design projects.
Mycotoxin contamination is a global phenomenon and causes a wide array of negative effects and other complications. This study focused on commonly found mycotoxins in Africa and the possible means of prevention or reduction of their contaminating effects. Mycotoxins are secondary metabolites of mold and fungi; they are generally toxic to living organisms. Hundreds of mycotoxins have been identified thus far, with some, such as aflatoxins, ochratoxins, trichothecenes, zearalenone, fumonisins, and patulin, considered agro-economically important. Several factors contribute to the presence of mycotoxins in food, such as climatic conditions, pest infestation, and poor harvest and storage practices. Exposure to mycotoxins, which occurs mostly by ingestion, leads to various diseases, such as mycotoxicoses and mycoses that may eventually result in death. In light of this, this review of relevant literature focuses on mycotoxin contamination, as well as various methods for the prevention and control of their prevalence, to avert its debilitating consequences on human health. Clear evidence of mycotoxin contamination is present in Africa, and it was therefore recommended that adequate prevention and control of these toxic substances in our food system should be encouraged and that appropriate measures must be taken to ensure food safety as well as the enhanced or long-lifespan of the African populace. Governments, research institutions, and non-governmental organizations should tailor the limited resources available to tackle mycotoxin prevalence, as these will offer the best prospects for successful development of a sustainable food system in Africa.
