The purpose of this study was to examine the degree of successful aging and to investigate influencing factors of it in elderly to types of gender. Subjects were 73 male elderly and 77 female elderly, total 150 elderly living at K city in C province, from May to June, 2012. The data were analyzed using the SPSS Win 18.0 program for $X^2$ test, t-test, Pearson's correlation coefficients and multiple regression analysis. The correlated factors of successful aging among male elders included life satisfaction(r=.525, p<.001), family support(r=.355, p=.004), depression(r=-.555, p<.001) and loneliness(r=-.437, p<.001). Those of successful aging among female elders included life satisfaction(r=.607, p<.001), leisure satisfaction(r=.679, p<.001), family support(r=.784, p<.001), depression(r=-.516, p<.001), loneliness(r=-.644, p<.001) and self-transcendence(r=.576, p<.001). Life satisfaction and depression were statistically significant influencing factors of successful aging in male elders. Especially in the cases of female elders, life satisfaction, depression, family support and self-transcendence affected to successful aging. Life satisfaction, depression, family support, and self-transcendence were explained 52.9% in perception of successful aging among elders. This study suggests that life satisfaction, depression, family support, and self-transcendence will be considered in enhancing the successful aging promoting care and welfare designed for types of gender.
The purposes of the study were (1) to identify the level of successful aging of older people living in a city, (2) to identify associated factors with successful aging, and (3) to identify a risk group for successful aging using classification and regression trees (CART) analysis. One hundred eighty seven older people (>65years) participated in the cross-sectional survey. Trained interviewers collected data with a structured questionnaire on demographic information, Korean geriatric depression score, activity of daily living(ADL), instrumental activity of daily living(IADL), and Young's successful aging instrument in subject's home. A CART analysis split subjects into ten homogeneous small groups based on five determinant factors. Older people who are male, with higher education, living with family, and not receiving Medicaid showed better scores in successful aging than their counter parts. Depression was a strong primary determinant for successful aging. A risk group for successful aging of older people was identified by depression and IADL. An intervention to prevent and manage depression and to improve physical function of older people can be developed to promote successful aging of older people. It is suggested to consider an assessment of depression to develop the policies for older people welfare.

This research was conducted to examine successful aging and influencing factors in middle aged women. Data were collected from 189 middle-aged women in two cities. Data were collected from July to August 2017 using structured questionnaires. Data collected were analyzed by descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlations, and multiple regression analysis. The results indicate that the perception of successful aging mean was 128.49 points (range: 33-165). Depression (r=-.20, p=.005) had a significant negative association with perception of successful aging. Family resilience (r=.49, p<.001) and life satisfaction (r=.54, p<.001) were positively correlated with perception of successful aging. The significant predictors of successful aging were age (${\ss}=-.15$, p=.013), family resilience (${\ss}=.24$, p=.002), and life satisfaction (${\ss}=.37$, p<.001), explaining 33.9% of the variance. Based on the study results, we suggest that it is necessary to develop and apply educational strategy to improve perception of successful aging.
American charter schools are independent public schools of choice, freed from rules but accountable for results. Charter schools have celebrated the 25th anniversary of its creation in 2017 and become part of landscape of public education in America. However, little research has been conducted on an individual charter school. This study aimed to examine the major factors of a successful charter school. A qualitative approach was employed. Seven one-hour in-depth interviews were conducted with semi-structured interview questions. And four teachers were participated. The conclusions are as follows: First, there is the combination of system and cultural factors as major successful factors of the Dayton Early College Academy. Second, system factors are the gateways and the advisory that is a twin at the charter school. The findings are considered to be applied for Korean educational settings and the implications can be used for policy development in Korea.

Background: Ultrasound-guided genicular nerve radiofrequency (RF) procedures are of interest in the management of chronic knee pain. A wide variety of demographic, clinical, and procedural characteristics can affect treatment success. This study aimed to determine predictive factors to provide superior treatment outcomes. Methods: The demographic, clinical, and technical data of patients who received genicular nerve RF for knee pain between September 2016 and September 2021 were evaluated. A positive outcome was defined as at least 50% pain relief on a pain score for at least 6 months. Logistic regression analysis was performed to determine the factors associated with a successful response to genicular RF. Results: Among 206 patients who underwent genicular RF, 62% of the patients reported successful outcomes at 6 months. In the multivariate model, targeting 5 nerves (odds ratio [OR], 6.184; 95% confidence interval [CI], 2.291-16.690; P < 0.001) was the most significant predictor of successful outcomes. Multivariable logistic regression analysis showed that prognostic genicular nerve block with a 50% cut-off value (OR, 2.109; 95% CI, 1.038-4.287; P = 0.039), no opioid use (OR, 2.753; 95% CI, 1.405-5.393; P = 0.003), and depression (OR, 0.297; 95% CI, 0.124-0.713; P = 0.007) were the predictive factors significantly associated with response to genicular RF. Conclusions: Clinical and technical factors associated with better treatment outcomes were ultimately targeting more nerves, performing prognostic block, no opioid use, and no depression. These results are expected to be considered when selecting patients for genicular RF.

Although starting a business plays a key role in strengthening national competitiveness and creating jobs, it is recognized as a risky choice. Failure to start a business can result in a wide range of negative effects, such as loss of personal wealth as well as deterioration of national competitiveness. This study considers startups that have reached a level of sustainable growth by achieving performance above the minimum profitability and sales standards for KOSDAQ listing, or achieved EXIT through sale or listing, as successful startups. based on the practical experiences of 23 successful entrepreneurs and Based on perception, the importance and priorities of startup success factors were derived through stratification analysis (Analytic Hierarchy Process, AHP), and interviews were conducted. In particular, using the ERIS model, we comprehensively analyze various variables of a start-up by considering the four elements of the entrepreneur, resources, industry, and strategy, and examine the changes and importance of success factors according to the characteristics of each growth stage of the start-up. As a goal, we specifically identified the challenges and opportunities faced by entrepreneurs at each stage. As a result of the study, the order of importance of the top factors of success factors in the start-up period was found to be the entrepreneur, resources, industry, and strategy. In particular, the importance of the entrepreneur's entrepreneurship spirit, special capabilities, general capabilities, and human resources was emphasized. The order of importance of the top factors of success factors during the growth period was found in the following order: entrepreneur, resources, industry, and strategy. In particular, the importance of general capabilities, entrepreneurship, and human and organizational resources was emphasized. This study is significant in that it analyzes startup success factors from the perspective of successful entrepreneurs and provides useful insights and directions to entrepreneurs and policy makers.

Objectives: People often fail to maintain their weight even though they have succeeded in weight loss. The purpose of this study was to review previously published study results with regards to the predictive factors associated with weight loss maintenance after successful weight loss. Methods: The authors searched for the articles related to weight loss maintenance after successful weight loss, published up until June 2019 on PubMed, Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials (CENTRAL), Embase, Research Information Sharing Service (RISS), and Koreanstudies Information Service System (KISS). A total of 76 articles were finally selected. From the study results, changeable and unchangeable predictors were extracted, and these predictors were examined according to detailed categories. Results: The changeable predictors of weight loss maintenance included behavioral factors, psychological factors and treatment process-related factors, whereas the unchangeable predictors included genetic and physiological factors, demographic factors, history of treatment on obesity-related factors. The main factors of weight loss maintenance were changeable predictors such as healthy eating habits, dietary intake control, binge eating control, regular exercise and physical activity, depression and stress control, social supports, self-regulation, self-weighing and initial weight loss and unchangeable predictors such as low initial weight and maximum lifetime weight. Conclusions: The results of our review results suggest that changeable and unchangeable predictors of weight loss maintenance should be carefully examined during treatments of obesity.
This case study aims at investigating the factors which make venture firms successful. It analysedthree high-performance venture firms originated from the government-financed rese arch institute, the company and the university on the viewpoint of 'dynamic capability' theory. In this case study, technology integration capability and administrative innovation capability were identified as success factors of the three venture firms. The study also presented the role of the incubating organizations. Although incubating organizations supported technological and managerial resource-building of the entrepreneurs, there was not active interactive-learning between venture firms and incubating organizations after spin-off.
