One of the major research topics in the area of the development of intelligent tutoring system(ITS)is the control of instructional mechanism consisting of lesson plans, curriculum plans, and discourse plans. This paper describes a method of building the lesson plans among these three instructional plans based on the case-based planning. It is more efficient to retrieve the lesson plan from the plan memoru than to generate it whenever an instructional goal is selected. The retrieved lesson plan may be modified to build more adaptive plan for the current goal.We have developed a lesson plan generator that has such capabilities as a component of an ITS for teching indefinite intergration. We also have devised a description language to represeint the generalized form for the given arithmetic expression as an instructional goal and a curriculum tree to represent the lesson units required to master the subject matter. The result of this research could be used either by a developer of the lesson plan generator in the other area of ITS or by human teacher as a curriculum in the actual class.

This study is to suggest the legal issues and some question to solve on the approved books in fisheries and marine sciences education. The results of the study are following. First, It discuss the legal meaning on the approved books. The meaning of the approved books means the curriculum books are subject to an approval by the Minister of Education, Science and Technology in order to use term in case where there exist no government-designated books and authorized, or where it is difficult to use term or it is necessary to supplement them. Second It deals with the legal issues on the approved books in fisheries and marine science education. The main issue is in harmony with the regimentation and self-regulation of education. This matter is the legal problems on the power for the standards of the textbooks approval and the rights for the organization of the textbooks. Third, It treats the problems of the approved books in fisheries and marine sciences education. The problems is system of statute and concept of approved books, the rights of nation and local government, standards of approved books, and writing and practical use of approved books. I generalize legal issues on the approved books in fisheries and marine sciences education. 'Scientific inquiry experiments', which was newly created subjects in the 2015 revised curriculum, was expected in the aspect of learning science and developing core competences through science practices. Based on changed view of evaluation, assessments of a practice-centered subject 'Scientific inquiry experiments' should be try to conducted in various ways, but many challenges were reported. In this study, through analysis of current status of assessment of the subject, we intended to find the way of conducting and supporting 'Scientific inquiry experiments'. We collected assessment materials and explanatory description about them from 25 teachers who taught 'Scientific inquiry experiments' in 2018 and 2019. And we analyzed the cases with framework which were consisted with three main categories: elements, standards, methods of assessments. Also, we investigated how the results of assessment were utilized. For the validity, we requested verification of the results of our data analysis to experts of science education and science teachers. From them, we also collected their opinions about our analysis. As a result of the study, teachers assessed some elements of inquiry skills such as 'analysis and interpreting the data', 'conducting inquiry' more than others which were closely related to what subject-matter the teachers used to organized inquiry program with. In the aspect of domain of assessments, though cognitive domain and affective domain as well as skills were evaluated, we also found that the assessment of those domains had some limitation. In terms of standard of assessment, the goals of assessment were presented in most cases, but there were relatively few cases which had the specific criteria and the stepwise statements of expected performance of students. The time and subject of the assessment were mainly post-class and teachers, and others such as in-class assessments, peer-assessments were used only in specific contexts. In all cases, the results of assessments used for calculating students' grade, but in some cases, we could observe that the results used for improving teaching and feedback for students. Based on these results, we discussed how to support the assessments of 'Scientific inquiry experiments'.
This study aims to analyze the changes of goals and contents of middle school geography education following up the changes in the Korean social studies curriculum over time. The main findings are as follows. First, From the Syllabus period to the Third Curriculum, geography education, history education, general social studies education in the middle school social studies were directed and managed independently. However from the 4th to the 7th Curriculum, the demand for the virtual integration in middle school social studies increased sharply. Since 2009 revision, social studies suffered an identity crisis as integrated subject matter because history education was separated from the social studies and interdisciplinary units were abolished. In spite of much criticism, however, an odd form of social studies integrating geography and general social studies still remains. Second, the stronger the demand for the social studies integration in middle school, students' social studies learning load had become heavier due to severe competition with other areas to ensure more portion in the integrated structure of social studies. Since geography education did not reflect the new tendency of the geography in the integrated structure of middle school social studies, the gap between the geography and geography education has increased and knowledges of geography growing became separated from students' experience. In conclusion, the integrated structure of social studies in the middle school hindered the geography education development as it limited the autonomy of geography education in terms of curriculum development.

The name of the Courses of Fishing Technology and of Navigation, as the basic courses in the fisheries high schools and the merchant marine high schools, are unchanged from a viewpoint of keeping a time- honored tradition. According to transition of the industrial structure, the authors tried to examine closely the character, to realize the goal of education, to rationalize the substantial system of the major subjects of each course, and made some concrete proposals of teaching guidance for each subject. The existing 5 compulsory major subjects are reduced to 2, and the subjects of "Sea Training" and of "Fisheries Law" an, disused, and the subject of "Introduction to Ship" and "Introduction to Marine Engine" and "Introduction to Marine Communication" are merged into the "Introduction to Ship". As mentioned above, the level of subject matter become more simplified as well as the students' learning burden is lightened by reduction of the number of major subjects. In conclusion, guiding teachers of major subjects must previously establish the substantial teaching method and carry out the teaching activities taking into consideration of the students' intellectual level and the local requirement on the ground of thorough understanding the character. the goal and the substantial system of each revised subject.
This study empirically examines motivations of entering college of education and academic problems that pre-service teachers encounter under the curricular activities. We analyze the phenomena of professional development under the four categories: motivation toward entering college of education, pedagogical content knowledge, subject matter knowledge and future vision. We conducted survey for the S university students first and interviewed 3 selected participants. Almost 50 students from college of education participated answering to the surveys. Using SPSS package, there was no significant difference between freshmen, sophomore and junior students in any category Male students responded more positively than female students in all the categories. To explore survey results deeply, we selected 3 students from sophomore and junior levels and 2 extra senior students to conduct interviews. The interpretation of the data described how their academic problems unfold partly because they seek another major and how their professional development take place carrying out practicum activities. Most of the interviewees felt that their academic lives were affected motivations of entering college of education and difficulties of studying subject matter knowledge. At the end, several suggestions are added for future research.
In this study, we analyzed the PCK components in the materials units of the third and fourth grades of the Korean government-authorized teacher's guides for elementary school, developed in the 2015 revised national curriculum. The results showed that the PCK components were presented in a relatively balanced manner compared to the teacher's guides for middle school. Knowledge of the subject matter accounted for the highest proportion, and knowledge of instructional strategies in science accounted for a higher proportion than knowledge of the science curriculum. The knowledge of assessment in science showed the greatest deviation among publishers, and knowledge of students tended to show the lowest. By subcomponents, experiments and inquiries had a higher proportion than concepts and theories. The ratio of horizontal articulation was lower than that of vertical articulation or lesson objectives, and lesson objectives were presented in various ways, such as in core competencies and achievement standards for science. As questioning was emphasized, teaching strategies and questioning appeared at a similar rate. Motivation and interest, misconceptions were linked to teaching strategies and questioning. In some cases, assessment items and assessment criteria were presented at each level, and various PCK components were linked to these two components. Components with relatively large differences among publishers were supplementary or in-depth concepts, inquiry in textbooks, instruction sequence and method, subject-specific strategies, and assessment items. From the results, the implications for the development of teacher's guides were discussed.
Purpose .This study aims to assess the influence factors on the level of satisfaction with hospital training and to provide basic data for more efficient hospital practice of students' public health administration . Methods . We have conducted a survey on students satisfaction with their hands on practice against 200 students in Busan, Kyeongnam and Kyungbook area, who have completed their practice in public health administration. We have identified the general characteristics of the target respondents, the current training status of the department for the hospital practice and training venue; also analyzed the characteristics composed of the apprentice student's attitude before the practice, satisfaction with the department training program and hospital for practice, as well as their practice at hospital. The general characteristics of the target respondents and clinic practice status at the hospital were measured in percentage and frequency analysis; the average and standard deviations of hospital size were also measured; and the correlations between satisfaction with the department, attitude towards the practice and satisfaction with the hospital were analyzed. Results . Most public health administration students experienced their practice at the hospital after the first semester on the $2^{nd}$year and they have received the foundation training for the practice. The survey allowed multiple responses and the results are as follows: medical terminology 49.5%, medical coordinator 36.7%, Hospital administration 26.5%, Health insurance 17.3%, and medical recording and practice 13.8% respectively. In terms of each individual student's attitude towards the practice at the hospital, the respondents answered as follows: I have completed the obligatory subjects for the practice before the practice 89.5%; I have been fully informed on the hospital for my practice. 74.5%; I responsibly practiced and worked with professionalism and sense of belonging to the hospital as a member of staff 90%; I have actively learned and adopted 95%; My knowledge and skills from the practice was relevant to the theory and practice from my course 83.5%. The findings of satisfaction by size of hospital were in order of a small clinic($3.24{\pm}0.63$), medium sized clinic($3.27{\pm}0.65$), hospital ($3.20{\pm}0.61$), and large sized comprehensive hospital ($2.93{\pm}0.74$). Consequently the satisfaction rate shows no significant difference by size of hospital. In relations between practice attitude and satisfaction with subject, the matter of acquiring information and fully understanding of the hospital for practice before practice(p=0.04), the matter of a sense of belonging and responsibility at hospital during practice(p=0.33). the matter of active adaptation attitude during practice (p=0.42), and the matter of correlations with school curriculum during practice(p=0.00) showed significant results. In relations between practice attitude and satisfaction with the hospital for practice, the matter of acquiring information and fully understanding of the hospital for practice before practice(p=0.01), the matter of a sense of belonging and responsibility at hospital during practice(p=0.04), and the matter of correlations with school curriculum during practice(p=0.00) showed significant results. Conclusion . The most essential subject for the practice in public health administration is medical terminology and there is no significance in satisfaction with the practice by size of hospital. Students were content with the hospital where they can experience as much as possible. Students content with their major show positive attitude towards the practice and so do those content with the hospital. Those with the positive attitude towards the practice show the high correlation of satisfaction with both the major and hospital. As a result, the satisfaction with the major is the significant attribute to the practice in the hospital.
Today, the importance of environmental education is a matter we are all concerned about. The environment surrounding us, such as the air we breathe, the water we drink, and the soil plants grow in, is critical for our survival. Currently there is a lot of interest in environmental education at the elementary, middle, and high school levels. This is a result of the deep recognition of the importance of the environment. However the environmental education being conducted in schools is not yet at a satisfactory level. The practical issues, including an entrance exam-oriented atmosphere, student' and parents' lack of understanding, and teachers' lack of expertise in environmental education, interfere with the stability of environmental curriculum in the schools. Accordingly, we need to devise an alternative environmental curriculum due to the fact that it hasn't been included as a regular subject in the curriculum of many national schools. This study, carried out from April to December 2009, was an examination of the effect of volunteer work at the place of ecology experience on the environmental sensitivity & state-trait anxiety of the 61 Gifted Students. The students were divided into two groups. The test group consisted of 30 gifted students who did volunteer work at the place of ecology experience run by Ulsan Science High School, in Ulsan Metropolitan City. The control group consisted of the rest of the students. The following are the study results: First, the volunteer work at the place of ecology experience was influential in increasing the environmental sensitivity of the gifted students. Second, the volunteer work at the place of ecology experience was influential in decreasing the state anxiety of in gifted students. Third, the volunteer work at the place of ecology experience was influential in decreasing the trait anxiety of in gifted students. Fourth, the volunteer work at the place of ecology experience positively influenced not only the gifted students' view of environmental education, but also their overall character.
Teacher preparation programs are responsible for preparing teachers to be able to perform their work with professional knowledge and skills. What opportunities to learn such knowledge and skills the programs intentionally develop for prospective teachers can be discerned by looking at the curriculum of teacher education. The purpose of this study is to find implications for the curriculum in elementary teacher education in South Korea, especially as that pertains to opportunities to learn teaching mathematics. This paper compares the curricula of 21 teacher preparation programs for elementary teachers in South Korea and in the United States. It finds that the programs in both countries emphasize teacher preparation to teach subject matter and to help elementary students improve their academic knowledge. The overall structures of the curriculums outlined in the programs of both countries are relatively comparable. In terms of the opportunities to learn teaching mathematics, however, they are quite different in what authentic contents they offer. This paper discusses the need for more emphasis on mathematical knowledge for teaching.
