This study was done to analyze research trends and to suggest future perspectives for nursing research on meditation. The author reviewed 41 foreign research papers which had been published in the Journal of Consulting & Clinical Psychology(JCC) between 1966 and 1986, The Journal of Transpersonal Psychology(JTP) between 1967 and 1987, and The Journal of Counseling Psychology (JCP) between 1965 and 1994. The analysis of the studies focused on the concept of meditation, the type of study design, type of research subjects, type of meditation, the results of study, and the applied type of counseling and psychotherapy. The results of the study are summarized as follows : (1) When the study designs were analyzed six categories were identified (Literature reviews, Experiments, Surveys, Comparative study, Qualitative study, Others), and the majority of the studies were found to be Literature reviews (36.6%), or Experimental studies(39%), The number of studies on meditation has increased since the 1970's. (2) Most studies approached meditation with Zen and Yoga(72.5%) which were called concepts of Indian meditation from 1970's to the later of 1980's. TM(Transcendental Meditation) was used in the 1970's. (3) On the type of meditation, most studies used Zen meditation which was called a method of Buddhistic meditation(43.9%). (4) On the studies of meditation effect, most were about psychological changes(48.5%), and psychological changes and physiological changes(37.1%). (5) On the types of the study subjects it was found that 15 studies dealt with literature, nine studies investigated college students, and eight studies investigated the meditator. (6) Most of study showed the results of the meditation effect to be positive (80%). On the basis of the above findings the following recommendations are made : (1) It's necessary to do a reliable and variable analysis of research trends on meditation. (2) There is a need to study the effects of meditation in order to clarify meditation application in counseling.
Objective : The purpose of this study was to analyze the effects of the windlass mechanism in trail-walking shoe prototypes that can effectively support arches. A study of these effects should help with the development of a first-rate trail-walking shoe development guide for the distribution of quality information to consumers. Methods : The subjects were ten adult males who volunteered to participate in the study. Shoes from three companies, which will be referred to as Company S (Type A), Company M (Type B), and Company P (Type C), were selected for the experiment. The subjects wore these shoes and walked at a speed of 4.2 km/h, and as they tested each shoe, the contact area, maximum pressure average, and surface force were all measured. Results : Shoe Type A showed a contact area of $148.78{\pm}4.31cm^2$, Type B showed an area of $145.74{\pm}4.1cm^2$, and Type C showed an area of $143.37{\pm}4.57cm^2$ (p<.01). Shoe Type A demonstrated a maximum average pressure of $80.80{\pm}9.92kPa$, Type B an average of $85.72{\pm}11.01kPa$, and Type C an average of $89.12{\pm}10.88bkPa$ (p<.05). Shoe Type A showed a ground reaction force of $1.13{\pm}0.06%BW$, Type B a force of $1.16{\pm}0.04%BW$, and Type C a force of $1.16{\pm}0.03%BW$ (p<.05). Conclusion : The Type A trail-walking shoe, which was designed with a wide arch from the center of the forefoot to the front of the rearfoot showed excellent performance, however, more development and analysis of the windlass mechanism for a variety of arch structures is still necessary.
The purpose of this study is for size suitability and fitness improvement for Korean 20's women. This study has classified hip types of 20's women by the 6th Korean Anthropometric Survey(Size Korean), then compared their lower body-type by hip types each other. The results are as follows. Factor analysis in sorting hip types can be explained 77.72% by nine factors. And cluster analysis can be divided into three types. Type 1 is referred to as a general type which has the largest size in the 'Hip circumference', but the buttocks's horizontal sizes are in the middle size besides the hip line. Type 2 is referred to as a protruding type in upper buttocks which is large in protruding volume of upper buttocks, but the buttock's horizontal sizes are small including 'Hip circumference', and buttock's horizontal section form close to circle. Type 3 is referred to as a type which is contrary to Type 2. Type 3 is small in protruding volume of upper buttocks, but large in lower buttocks, and the protrusions in whole buttocks are small, so the side view of Type 3 made gentle fit shape. By these results, the study could classify lower body of 20's women, and it can be basic data for new sizing systems and pattern development of bottoms.
Cigarette smoking has been identified as the single most important source of preventable morbidity and mortality. Smoking behavior varies each individual, so individuality & subjectivity of smoking behavior must be specially focused upon to understand smoking behavior. The purpose of this study was to find attitudes of university students in the prediction of smoking behavior. Q-Methodological method was used as a research design and data were collected during the period from Jan.1, 1997 to Feb. 28, 1998. As the research method, Q-statements were collected through in- depth interviews and a literature review. For the study 33 Q-statements were selected. There were 45 university students as subjects for the research. The 45 university students sorted the 33 statements using the principle of Forced Normal Distribution. The principle of Forced Normal Distribution, which has nine scales to measure the individual opinions, Pc Quanl program was used for analysis and Q-factors were analyzed by using principal component analysis. According to the results of this study, there were four categories of opinion about the smoking behavior in university students. The first type is seeking the habitual dependency. The second type is seeking the stress relief : The third type is seeking the active disapproval : The fourth type is seeking the self control. As a result, The meaning of the smoking behavior is affected by perceived subjective experience, so we need to understand each persons meaning of the smoking behavior and to develop appropriate nursing interventions based on the typology of smoking behavior. Finally, The result of the study will provide basic data for smoking prevention and cessation program.
The objective of this study is to analyze the determinants of at-home laver consumption expenditures using the data from a survey of households implemented in 2009. It happened that non-response ratios of monthly expenditures on dry laver and flavored laver among sampled households are 18.8% and 25.6%. Accordingly, this study tries to analyze the determinants affecting at-home laver consumption expenditures by using type II tobit model, one of sample selection models, to deal with sample selection bias caused from non-response data. Analysis results show the age variable positively affects expenditures on dry laver but negatively contributes to expenditures on flavored laver. In addition, the household size, the household's income, the degree of preference for laver have positive relationships with both expenditures. Household size elasticity and income elasticity of the expenditure on dry laver are estimated as 0.220 and 0.251. In the case of flavored laver, these elasticities are estimated as 0.484 and 0.261. Such analysis results can provide information on division of the at-home laver consumption market into groups with high willingness to expense and implementation of detailed marketing strategies to increase at-home laver consumption. The methodology of this study can be applied to consumer preference analysis on other marine products and other analyses on sample with non-response data in the fishery research.
A study on Composing Unit Spaces of Apartment Houses according to the Differentiation in Lifestyle by survey on preferences. The purpose of this study is to propose composition models of unit spaces for 85m2 net area apartment houses by lifestyle types. This study set up a hypothesis that there is a critical divergence of preferences in composition types of unit spaces according to lifestyle. To prove the hypothesis, investigation on variable floor plans of apartments to extract spatial composition types of units and questionnaire survey on lifestyleand preferences for composition types were implemented. To extract several factors regarding, characteristics of lifestyle, factor analysis, was implemented for each variable. Cluster analysis was conducted to cluster interviewees by similarity of lifestyle. To identify and define how each factor reacts, ANOVA and cross tabulation analysis between factors and clusters were used. The type of spatial composition was analyzed by plane characteristic, spatial relation and spatial usability on the basis of apartment plate type. As a result, lifestyle was divided into three types: reasonable lifestyle, trend-seeking lifestyle and conservative lifestyle. As, the result of investigating characteristics for the type of spatial composition according to the type of lifestyle, preferred types and main districts were different. Therefore, the hypothesis was proved.
