An Experimental Study of N2O Concentration Profiles in Planner Premixed Flame (평면예혼합화염중의 N2O 농도변화에 관한 실험연구)

  • The Marine Environment Protection Committee(MEPC) which is the IMO's specialized committee on marine pollution related matters deals with GHG related issues to discuss and compile possible approaches on technical, operational and market based measures to address GHG emissions from ships. The nitrous oxide($N_2O$) which remains generally in the atmosphere for around 114 years is one of the green house gases. The global warming potential of $N_2O$ is 310 times than $CO_2$ in the given period 100 years. It seems that the $N_2O$ formation is influenced by the nitrogen compound contained in the fuel which is named as "Fuel N" during the combustion process or the NOx, SOx and $H_2O$ through the emission gases before exhausted into the atmosphere. This paper has carried out an experimental study of the $N_2O$ concentration profiles by the change of $NH_3$ flows in the planner premixed combustion with using $C_3H_8$ and air.

Identifying Wastes in Construction Process and Implementing the Last Planner System in India

  • Most of the Indian contractors are not well equipped to handle the growing demand of infrastructure development; hence construction projects frequently run in to time and cost overruns, disputes and quality issues. This study aims to improve the construction industry in India by implementing lean principles to eliminate non-value adding activities (wastes). The purpose of this study is to 1) identify the wastes and their sources affecting the construction process, and 2) to identify problems and document lessons by applying a Last Planner System (LPS) to a sample project. First, the researchers identified that Delays, Rework, and Interruptions were the most critical wastes affecting the construction process and Poor management control, Poor Planning and Shortage of Resources were the major sources of the above mentioned wastes. Second, the researchers report the Percent of Planned Complete (PPC) analysis results and experienced problems after implementation of LPS at the sample project. It was observed that much more improvement could have been achieved if there was consensus between the owners and the contractor on the implementation of the LPS in its entirety. Some of the problems experienced in the implementation of the LPS like lack of scheduling, resource and material shortage were found to be similar to those in developed countries.

Tidy-up Task Planner based on Q-learning (정리정돈을 위한 Q-learning 기반의 작업계획기)

  • As the use of robots in service area increases, research has been conducted to replace human tasks in daily life with robots. Among them, this study focuses on the tidy-up task on a desk using a robot arm. The order in which tidy-up motions are carried out has a great impact on the success rate of the task. Therefore, in this study, a neural network-based method for determining the priority of the tidy-up motions from the input image is proposed. Reinforcement learning, which shows good performance in the sequential decision-making process, is used to train such a task planner. The training process is conducted in a virtual tidy-up environment that is configured the same as the actual tidy-up environment. To transfer the learning results in the virtual environment to the actual environment, the input image is preprocessed into a segmented image. In addition, the use of a neural network that excludes unnecessary tidy-up motions from the priority during the tidy-up operation increases the success rate of the task planner. Experiments were conducted in the real world to verify the proposed task planning method.

Implementing Dynamic Obstacle Avoidance of Autonomous Multi-Mobile Robot System (자율 다개체 모바일 로봇 시스템의 동적 장애물 회피 구현)

  • For an autonomous multi-mobile robot system, path planning and collision avoidance are important functions used to perform a given task collaboratively and cooperatively. This study considers these important and challenging problems. The proposed approach is based on a potential field method and fuzzy logic system. First, a global path planner selects the paths of the robots that minimize the cost function from each robot to its own target using a potential field. Then, a local path planner modifies the path and orientation from the global planner to avoid collisions with static and dynamic obstacles using a fuzzy logic system. In this paper, each robot independently selects its destination and considers other robots as dynamic obstacles, and there is no need to predict the motion of obstacles. This process continues until the corresponding target of each robot is found. To test this method, an autonomous multi-mobile robot simulator (AMMRS) is developed, and both simulation-based and experimental results are given. The results show that the path planning and collision avoidance strategies are effective and useful for multi-mobile robot systems.

  • This study is based on the purpose of organizing and planning a fundraising for Daum Kakao's 'storyfunding' during the recent crowdfunding that uses mobile-based Internet platforms to raise funds. Analysis by project subjects shows that one planner is more efficient if the ability of one planner, such as 'publishing', is important. However, there were many group A types of contents that require variety of expertise such as 'campaign' and 'journalism' after funding is completed. As a result of analysis by planning purposes, there were the most funds available to produce contents. This is a sign that there are many projects that match the basic purpose of story funding. There are also many other purposes for the purpose of raising public opinion for the project or the establishment of monuments, or for the support of people, animals, or animal rights groups. And there is a private equity fund to sell or promote products. Such quantitative research and analysis will accurately determine the current situation of crowdfunding and will provide basic data such as efficient human composition and goals setting to achieve the goals of crowdfunding in the future.

  • Whereas the necessity for recycling and reuse is being emphasized owing to the depletion of resources and waste disposal problems caused by the continuous development of the industry, the importance of remanufacturing has been highlighted recently. Re-manufacturing involves a series of processes in which failed disposal or aging goods are recovered to a state similar to that of a new product. In this regard, machine tools, which are large structures, can achieve the effect of remanufacturing. Among the various elements constituting the machine tool, the main spindle portion that affects the processing precision is critical. Therefore, this study is conducted to derive improvement measures for the main axis of an old Miller planner via reverse engineering and central composite design, which is one of the core processes of remanufacturing.

  • Financial planning in the United States has evolved since 1980 from a field comprised of specialists, such as insurance agents, bankers, accountants, and stock brokers, offering particular services to clients, to the situation today, where most professionals offering financial services to households market themselves as comprehensive financial planners. The breadth of knowledge required for financial planning can be seen in the 106 topics covered by the Certified Financial Planner(CFP) Exam. This study reviews the actual conditions of financial planning in the U.S. including suppliers of financial services to household, the philosophy of financial planning, and the financial planning process as described by the CFP Board. Also, this study discusses related research about problems and challenges faced by households in financial planning in the U.S.

Analysis of factor of life planners' satisfaction after turnover using the cumulative logit model (누적로짓모형을 이용한 보험설계사의 이직 후 만족도 영향요인 분석)

  • In this study, we investigate various factors affecting five kinds of life planners' satisfaction after turnover which are general, human relations within organization, sales environment support, economic, life planner management system. Also we suggest theoretical and practical implication to them. The results of survey of life planners are as follows. First, in the general life planners' satisfaction after turnover, insurance company belonged to, recognition on own sales ability, life planners' satisfaction level, financial and insurance related award, education level, marital status, size of branch, and surrounding recognition about life planner are influential factors on it. Second, factors which affect the life planners' human relations satisfaction within organization after turnover are size of branch, surrounding recognition about life planner, and insurance company belonged to. Third, factors which affect the life planners' sales environment support satisfaction after turnover are surrounding recognition on life planner, insurance company belonged to, certificates relating to finance or insurance, size of branch, Fourth, in the solicitors' economic satisfaction after turnover, mainly demographic factors such as education level, marital status, age are crucial to it and also life planners' satisfaction level is influential factor. Last, in the solicitors' management system satisfaction, only experienced turnover type is a influential factor.

A Study on the Improvement of Optimal Design for the Re-Manufacturing of Planner Miller Spindle (플래너 밀러 스핀들의 재제조를 위한 최적설계 개선안에 관한 연구)

  • The depletion of resources and waste disposal caused by the continuous development of industry have emphasized the need to reduce consumption and production, recycle and reuse, and the importance of remanufacturing has increased in recent years. The spindle part of the aging planner miller, which is currently being remanufactured, is one of the factors that has the greatest impact on the performance of the machine tool. When designing the spindle part of the spindle shaft, there are considerations such as the configuration size bearing performance of the main shaft, but the diameter of the main shaft, the dangerous speed bearing, and the arrangement that affect the machining accuracy should be basically considered. As such, various studies have been conducted on the design of machine tool spindle spindles, but research on the reverse engineering of existing aging machine tool spindle spindles is poor. Reverse engineering is designing in the direction of improving performance by extracting specifications from already finished products, and first scanning the reverse engineered object through a 3D scanner, 3D modeling is performed based on the collected data, and then the process of deriving improvement plans by reverberating to improve performance by identifying wear and damage conditions is followed. Therefore, in this study, the purpose of this study is to provide data on reverse engineering by deriving improvement plans through optimal design for the bearing position of the aging planar Miller spindle spindle using central composite programming.

A Study on the Application of Noise Map in Urban Planning (도시계획에서 소음지도 활용방안 연구)

  • Increasing population in the cities, it has been demanded that urban planner should consider environmental problem. In this regard compact city has been strongly suggested as an environmental urban form which can reduce energy consumption. However, compact city can also cause noise problem, because residential buildings have to be located near roads and railways. In order to solve this problem, it is necessary for urban planner to examine the types of roads and railways before they are established. Noise map is able to be useful tool for the task.
