The object of this study is to offer a basic reference for improving students' housing into a desirable living environments at small-sized local city. To do so, this study is to analyze residential choice elements and interior environment satisfaction of students around Samcheok national university at user's point. Trough the field survey and questionnaire about students' housing, the student's residential environment is almost composed of one room type of multifamily housing. But students' housing of this type is insufficient to the housing level which they demand. To obtain the real features as theirs housing, the development of the plan type to reflect the their actual demand is necessary. The results of this study can be applied to the actual design of hiring students' housing.

The purpose of this study was to research the college students' life styles, housing satisfaction and future-housing environment preferences according to demographic variables. So the eventual purpose is to offer basic data of future-housing development. This study has a subject of 512 college students living in Jeonbuk province. In this statistical analysis, SPSS 11.5 for Windows program. The results of this research were as follows; The college students' life style showed higher in the self-confidence-directed and the home-directed types. And the college students' housing satisfaction showed higher in housing equipments. The life style and housing satisfaction were significant difference according to major, their parents' academic career, fathers' occupation, average incomes, type of house. The college students' future-housing preference showed higher in housing equipments and environment. And the significant difference according to gender, school year, major, mothers' occupation, and type of house in the college students' future-housing environment preference. College students' life style, housing satisfaction, and future-housing environment preference have a significant correlation one another. Housing satisfaction variables had positive correlations with life style and future-housing environment preference. Partially, negative correlation was showed between life style and future-housing environment preference. As a conclusion, college students' life style and housing satisfaction constituted important characteristics which could affect future-housing environment preference directly. These results should be provide fundamental information for the new generation's future-housing development.

The purpose of this study is to analyze patterns of space use and housing preferences to be used in the housing plan for students. Data was collected through questionnaire surveys from local university students living apart from their family. We collected 272 samples and analyzed them using SPSSwin program. The results are as follows; 1) The average hours of staying at the housing for student are 5 hours and 30 minutes(except sleeping time). Most of the time was used for ‘hobby’ and ‘study\ulcorner computer works’. The most of the students had ‘a meal per day’ at their housing. 2) The most preferred housing type by the students is ‘studio apartment’ and the next preferred is ‘apartment’. The highly demanded facility is ‘laundry’ and the next comes ‘kitchen’. 3) Those who spend more time in their housing than average show higher demand in ‘kitchen’ and ‘balcony’. Those who spend less time in their housing show higher demand in ‘storage’.

The purpose of this study is to analyze housing expectations and housing preferences of college students' first purchased house for the future. Data was collected through self-administered questionnaires for this study and the samples consisted of 797 college students. This study found that college students preferred a high-rise apartments, a 20-24 pyung (66.0㎡-79.2㎡) house in housing size and relatively new house. The housing features and interior features that college students like to have and expected to have in the first residence were different. Their housing expectations were fairly realistic considering their affordability. College students preferred to furnish video and audio equipments, exercise equipments and ceiling fans. They generally preferred hardwood floorings and decorative moldings and expected to have built-in closet in their master bedrooms. They expected to have linen closets and large mirrors in their bathrooms. They preferred ceramic tile counter tops, wood cabinets, vinyl floorings in their kitchens and they also preferred to use kitchen as a utility.

UNL housing fair started 14 years ago and is hosted by the Daily Nebraskan. An annual event, the housing fair is expected to draw anywhere between 500 and 1,000 UNL students according to Daily nebraskan. It's manager coordinates with sponsors to determine each company's ad campaign for the every semester. Sponsors generally find the housing fair an effective tool because it brings them face-to-face with students especially inclined to seek out new living options. So this study is to analyse UNL housing fair to provide students potions. Students can learn about places to live off-campus by attending UNL housing fair. When housing fair is opened by Daily Nebraskan, the place is abuzz with students investigating off-campus living options. In addition, property management companies also are available to inform students of their policies and practices. Also this study is to analyse the housing life of UNL off-campus students. Therefore this study has been focused on the surrounding residential areas, their apartment sites and their apartments for UNL students.

This study is to investigate the housing conditions and housing satisfaction of Chinese students in S. Korea, and identified effective factors for related housing design. Chinese students at CBNU participated in this survey from November to December in 2011. A questionnaire survey was used. 200 students voluntarily participated in this survey with 147 surveys providing useful data for analysis. Descriptive statistics, correlation, and linear regression were used to analyzed the data with SPSS 12.0. The results are as follow. 1) Many Chinese students received housing information from discussion with acquaintance. They lived together 2 students in one-room or dormitory. Monthly rental was about 240,000 won, and they found the living conditions a burden. 2) They are unsatisfied with food, the lack of a refrigerator, and non availability kitchen facilities. These factors are considered in planning for Chinese students housing. 3) For the most part, they are satisfied with their current housing environment, although there is a need to improve health related housing environment factors, including sunlight, noise, and indoor air. The effective residential factors to overall housing satisfaction are dwelling space and size, space organization and floor plan, kitchen toilet bathroom facilities, sunlight, and safety from natural disasters. The effective neighborhood factors identified include access to natural environment, community facilities, parks, noise, and commuting time. 4) Subjective factors played a larger role in overall housing satisfaction than did objective factors such as gender and types of house.

The purpose of this study was to clarify the relationship between life style and housing satisfaction of high school students. This is the investigation of which 1015 high school students live in Chonbuk province. In this statistical analysis, SPSS program was utilized to calculate percentage, mean and standard deviation. Also. these materials were verified by t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficient. The main results of this study were as follows. There was a significant difference between life style and housing satisfaction, according to demographic variables and housing characteristic variables. The entire life style has been appeared high type of a along with PC. Most of students has been appeared high in health and security of housing. Also, correlation of life style and housing satisfaction showed significantly. On the basic of these results, it can be suggested : It is necessary to have the righteous understanding about life style and housing satisfaction, of high school students for advisable guidance of housing education. It needed to continue diversified researches considering spread of life style 'with PC' and enough awareness of health and security in housing satisfaction.

The purpose of this study was to analyze the problems of housing education in Home Economics and then to present some suggestion for improving the housing education in the middle school and to analyze the problems of housing edcation that was investigated on the recognition and application in real life of housing area subject to male/female students in the middle school. The respondents were 600 boys and girls of middle school. Statistical methods adopted for data analysis were Frequency, Chi-square, t-test, F-test. The major findings were follows: 1. Many students(67.2%) responded that housing of home economics was wholly helpful in the actual life. 2. Many students recognized the necessity for the housing education. They particularly recognized the need about the knowlidge of sanitation and facilities of housing. 3. The degree to which housing education applied in the real life was lower than that to which it was needed. 4. There was a tendency that the more students realized the usefulness of housing education, the more positively they applied it in the real life. 5. The contents that students preferred to be additionally included in housing education were improvement of residential environment, solutions to housing environmental deterioration and pollution, future housing, and housing for the elderly.

The purpose of this study was to analyze the internet site components related to housing informations, and to find determinants affecting college students' self-assessment for internet site of housing. the major findings were as follows; First, four factors were retained from the site components related to housing informations. Second, the college students' satisfaction with the site components was differed by the sex and taking computer courses or not. Third, the sex, monthly pocket money, computer skill of students, and usefulness of internet site were the determinants affecting college students' self-assessment to internet site of housing. Male students rather than female counterpart were, the less the monthly pocket money was, the less the computer skill was, and the more usefulness of internet site was, the more satisfied with the internet site of housing.

The purpose of this study was to investigate Korean college students' housing values and housing expectations as well as considerations for housing in their 20s and to explore influences on housing values and expectations. Items related to four housing functions were developed in conjunction with Maslow's hierarchy of human needs to measure housing values. An on-site questionnaire survey was administered to students of a university-A located in Chungbuk province between May 28, 2012, and June 17, 2012. Among the total 476 responses, 465 responses from Korean students were used for further data analyses. The findings are as follows: (1) Among housing functions, those related to shelter functions were perceived as most important followed by function as a place for self-esteem. (2) More than 70 percent of the respondents expected to rent a housing unit in their 20s and more than half of the respondents expected non-traditional and relatively affordable compact size structure types such as studio, Officetel or Gosiwon. (3) Price, location and transportation were found to be the most important considerations when choosing housing in their 20s. (4) Convenience in use of public transportation and commute time were found to be the most important in location choice, and maintenance conditions and security systems were the most important for building choice. (5) Female respondents tended to consider personal safety, security systems, neighborhood facilities, and distance from family more important than male respondents when choosing housing, while male respondents considered parking space more important than females.
