모델링 탐구 활동에서의 대학생의 모델링 유형 분석 및 인식 (The Analysis of University Student's Modeling Patterns and Perceptions Through Modeling Experiments)

  • 대학교 1학년 학생들을 대상으로 모델링 탐구 실험을 적용하여 질적 연구 방법으로 학생들의 모델링 사고 유형을 알아보았다. 학생들의 모델링 과정은 'Refining tentative model(임시 모델 정교화)', 'Accepting alternative model(대안 모델 채택)', 'Discarding tentative model(임시 모델 폐기)', 'Failing to find causes(원인 규명 실패)', 'Disbelieving results(실험 결과 불신)'의 다섯 가지 유형으로 나누어진다. 학생들은 모델링 탐구 활동을 통하여 과학자의 사고 과정을 경험하여 모델의 본성과 의미를 이해하였고, 이것은 학생들이 과학 지식의 본성을 이해하고, 스스로 탐구할 수 있는 기초가 될 것이다.

차별적인 교육품질이 학생만족과 학생 충성도에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Difference Education Quality on Student Satisfaction and Student Loyalty)

  • Purpose: The paper presents research that examine relationship difference education quality, satisfaction, loyalty in university education sector. Specifically, the effects of difference education quality on student satisfaction and loyalty in the context of education quality are examined. Methods: A model of difference education quality effect on student satisfaction and loyalty is introduced and tested in the university using student perceptions of provider. Questionnaire was developed, and data was collected and analyzed for this study with SEM(Structural Equation Modeling). Results: The results are as follows: Education capability, BNIE(Business Newspaper In Education) are significantly influenced on student satisfaction. In addition, student satisfaction is significantly influence on external customer satisfaction, professor image. Professor image is significantly influence on student loyalty. Conclusion: Upon learning of student need and want, professor can focus on development of difference education quality based on student need and want.

  • The purpose of this study is to build a model that explains the relationship between and among five variables that are student background, teacher background, home environment, school characteristic, and student mathematics achievement, using structural equation modeling. Another purpose of this study is to compare the relationships of these variables between the United States and Korea in 7th and 8th grades mathematics. Student, teacher, and school background files from population 2 in the TIMSS were selected for this study. The result of the study provides practical information for teachers, parents, school principals, and other people who are interested in improving student achievement, and also provides the information that may explain differences and similarities between the US and Korea in mathematics achievement.

  • 지능형 재활 교육 시스템은 학습 대상이 정상인이 아닌 발달 장애인이라는 점과 학습자 단독으로 학습이 어렵다는 점이 일반적인 지능형 교육 시스템과 다르다. 이러한 교육 시스템은 학습자 단독 학습이 아닌 학습 보조자가 학습자의 옆에서 학습을 보조하는 형태이므로 시스템과 학습 보조자와의 연계가 시스템 구현시 중요한 부분이라고 할 수 있다. 그러므로 지능형 교육 시스템의 핵심이라 할 수 있는 Student Model의 설계 역시 학습 보조자의 개입에 대한 자유도를 어느 정도 허락하는 것인가가 주된 목표일 것이다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 점을 고려한 지능형 교육 시스템에서의 Student Model을 구현한다.

모형 구성 참여 양상에서 나타나는 내성적인 초등학생의 인식적 감정 구성 (An Introverted Elementary Student's Construction of Epistemic Affect During Modeling Participation Patterns)

  • 초등학생들은 인식적 실행에서 인식적 감정을 경험할 수 있다. 본 연구는 인식적 실행의 일환인 6차시의 호흡 운동 모형 구성 과정에서 다소 내성적인 성향을 가진 초등학생이 어떠한 인식적 감정을 구성하면서 모형 구성에 참여할 수 있었는지를 탐색한 것이다. 이를 위해 감정 일지, 촬영된 비디오 녹화본, 사후 인터뷰와 같은 여러 데이터 자원을 통해 초등학생이 구성한 인식적 감정이 분석되었으며, 특히 학생이 어떠한 감정을 구성하면서 제한적 참여에 머물렀는지, 어떠한 인식적 감정을 구성하면서 참여했는지가 조사되었다. 연구 결과, 초등학생은 첫째, '아하'라고 불리는 인식적 감정을 구성하게 되면서 모형 생성 과정에 참여할 수 있었다. 둘째, 초등학생은 상대방의 반박을 통해 '추론의 잘못을 느낌' 이라는 인식적 감정을 구성했고, 이 감정 하에서 상대방의 반박을 수용하는 모형 수정 과정에 참여할 수 있었다. 마지막으로, 초등학생은 상대방의 감정적인 연속적인 반박으로 '지침'이라는 인식적 감정을 구성하게 되면서 모형 구성에 제한적으로 참여하였으나, '상대방의 아이디어가 싫음'이라는 인식적 감정을 구성하면서 모형 평가 과정에 참여할 수 있게 되었다. 이러한 인식적 감정의 탐색을 통해, 우리는 내성적인 초등학생의 모형 구성 참여를 위해 학생이 능동적으로 아이디어와 직접적으로 관련된 인식적 감정의 구성을 할 수 있도록 하는 것이 중요하며, 또한 학생이 과거, 현재, 미래 감정을 모두 고려하면서 느낄 수 있는 감정적 부담을 이해하는 것이 필요함을 논의한다.

Prototyping a Student Model for Educational Games

  • When a pedagogical agent system aims to provide students with interactive help, it needs to know what knowledge the student has and what goals the student is currently trying to achieve. That is, it must do both assessment and plan recognition. These modeling tasks involve a high level of uncertainty when students are allowed to follow various lines of reasoning and are not required to show all their reasoning explicitly. In this paper, the student model for interactive edutainment applications is proposed. This model is based on Bayesian Networks to expose constructs and parameters of rules and propositions pertaining to game and problem solving activities. This student model could be utilized as the emotion generation model for student and agent as well.

Antecedents of Student Loyalty Within Universities in North Sumatra Province, Indonesia

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the antecedents of student loyalty which included Servicescape University, relationship quality, university image, and student satisfaction. The research was conducted in three universities with Islamic atmosphere under Al Washliyah Foundation in Medan, North Sumatra Province, Indonesia. Data analysis in this study includes descriptive analysis and Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The results showed that: (1) Servicescape university influences university image, student satisfaction, but does not influence student loyalty; (2) Servicescape university through university image influences student loyalty, (3) Servicescape university through student satisfaction influences student loyalty, (4) Relationship quality influences university image, satisfaction Students, but does not influence student loyalty, (5) Relationship quality through university image influences student loyalty, (6) Relationship quality through student satisfaction influences student loyalty, (7) University image influences student loyalty, and (8). Student satisfaction influences student royalty. The findings of this study suggest that the antecedent of student loyalty in universities with Islamic atmosphere which was examined in this research includes four factors: Servicescape university, quality relationship, university image, and students' satisfaction.

  • 본 연구의 주된 목적은 크게 두 가지로 나눌 수 있다. 첫째, 최근 수학적 모델링이 강조되는 상황에서 보로노이 다이어그램과 들로네 삼각분할을 주제로 영재교육을 위한 수학적 모델링 프로그램을 개발하는 것이다. 둘째, 본 연구에서 개발한 수학적 모델링 프로그램을 실제 영재교육 수업에 적용한 결과를 분석하여 수학적 모델링 수업을 설계하는 현직교사와 융합형 영재프로그램을 개발하는 영재교사에게 도움을 주고자 한다.

'먹이 그물과 먹이 피라미드' 모형 구성에서 나타난 초등학생의 추론 유형 (Elementary Student's Reasoning Patterns Represented in Constructing Models of 'Food Web and Food Pyramid')

  • The purpose of this study was to explore ecological concepts, epistemological reasoning and reasoning processes through constructing 'food web and food pyramid' in ecology. We conducted classes which involved a 'food web and food pyramid' for $6^{th}$ grade students. Each class is constructed of small groups to do modeling and epistemological reasoning through communication. The researcher had videotaped and recorded each class and have made transcription about classes. We analysed patterns of 'food web and food pyramid models' and reasoning processes according to scientific epistemology using transcription data and student outputs. As a result, students represented phenomenon-based reasoning, relation-based reasoning and model-based reasoning in scientific epistemology from their modeling. Students usually did relation-based reasoning and model-based reasoning in food web which explains ecological phenonenon, while they usually did model-based reasoning in food pyramid which expects ecological phenomenon. Student's reasoning can be limited when they have misconception of scientific knowledge and are limited by fragmentary knowledge. This represents that students has to do relation-based reasoning and model-based reasoning is beneficial in their ecological model. It also suggests that students need to define correct-conception related to ecological modeling(food web, food pyramid).

초등학생들의 계절의 변화 단원의 학습에서 모델링 중심 과학 탐구 수업의 효과 (Effects of Modeling-Based Science Inquiry Instruction on Elementary Students' Learning in the Unit of Seasonal Changes)

  • In this study, modeling pedagogies were employed to re-design and teach the unit of Seasonal Changes in the $6^{th}$ grade science curriculum. The effects of the modeling-based program were investigated in both the conceptual and affective domains using an approach of mixing quantitative and qualitative techniques. The result showed that the students in the modeling-based science inquiry classroom gained a higher mean score in a conceptual achievement test than their counterparts in a traditional science classroom. The number of the conceptual resources activated to explain the causes of the seasons, as well as the types of student explanations developed through the combination of the resources activated, were greater in the modeling-based classroom. The modeling-based science inquiry was also effective in improving student attitudes toward science lessons. It was revealed, however, that the students experienced both positive and negative epistemic feelings during the modeling-based science inquiry. Implications of these findings for science education and relevant research were suggested and discussed.
