과학동산 운영에 관한 질적 연구 (A Qualitative Study of Running질 Science Garden질)

  • 'Science Garden' is a science program that develops acquirements of science & technology at an early stage through experiential study and inspire the spirit of scientific inquiry by carrying out laboratory work, science movie, science lecture, scientific work, outdoor activities, computer classes and science experiment which is hard to do through the regular educational course. It is targeted grade 4,5,6 students during summer and winter vacation. 'Science Garden' is conducted by selective participation freely. It is a wholelistic activity that develops children's potential talents or creativities, improves interest and attitude toward science, and also gives opportunity for self-realization by extending capacity for inquiry to show each student's ability. This study is observed and is compared how it is conducted in elementary school using qualitative study. This study is used narrative observation, in-depth interview and document analysis. Objects of narrative observation are two elementary schools, each from Jellabukdo and Gyeonggido, and 7 teachers were interviewed in-depthly. Here are results of the study. 1 A teacher in school G never takes part in student activities, tends to be indifferent to classes, but focuses on observation and experiment in laboratory. And feedback or evaluation about student's activity is never done. On the other hand, a teacher in school S guides students to understand the principals of science on themselves, and wide variety forms of activities such as role playing, discussion, and games are being done. But an effort to evaluate student's activity is not being made properly. 2. Teachers set a high valuation on the need of 'Science Garden'. Observing the way of conducting 'Science Garden', usually teachers who is in charge of science for official work is selected as a teacher in charge, and groan under a heavy burden of conducting it without anyone's help. Participating students are selected by volunteering or teacher's recommendation, but because of low Participation rate, teachers have difficulty in conducting it. Plan for conducting ‘science Garden’ is made 20 days before it, after getting an official document from Office of Education, refering to booklets produced by National Jungang Science Institute, or data from Office of Education, and internet. Teachers evaluate rarely Most school principals have interest in 'Science Garden' but parents are not well aware of it, The budget is made at the same time with the plan, and scale is varied between 200,000∼500,000 won. Because of the improper way of selecting teacher in charge, difficulty in selecting students, heavy works caused by planning, conducting the program, as well as reporting teacher's work, and lack of parents' awareness, 'Science Garden' has been conducted formally and superficially. Next gives you direction to change, for the right way of conducting' Science Garden'. It is important to motivate competent teachers to instruct students actively. For students' active participation, They should publicize thoroughly beforehand, and develope 'Science Garden' program for teachers to be able to make better use of it. Evaluation of student activities and program should be done in the aspect of developing students’ faculties. Beside of school facilities, they need to put diverse local facilities and places to practical use for immediate natural experience. And not only separate schools but also associated form of schools to conduct it is necessary.

대학생기독교선교회 시니어간사의 경력전환 경험 탐색 (Exploring the Meanings of Career Transition Experience of Senior Stewards of the Campus Crusade for Christ)

  • 본 연구는 세속 직업에 종사하다가 대학생 선교단체 간사로 경력을 전환한 대학생 선교단체 간사의 경력전환 과정과 경험을 탐색하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 연구목적을 달성하기 위하여 한국대학생선교회(CCC)에 소속되어 있는 시니어간사 5명을 인터뷰하여 분석하였다. 주요 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 대학생 기독선교회 시니어 간사의 경력전환 동기는 소명의식과 유관함을 알 수 있다. 둘째, 경력전환 과정에서 새로운 환경에 대한 적응과 주위로 부터의 격려와 지지를 경험하는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 간사의 경력전환의 의미는 하고자 했던 일을 다시 찾게 됨과 약속지킴, 특별하고 영광스러운 삶인 것으로 나타났다. 이상의 연구결과를 토대로 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 첫째, 선교단체 간사의 소명실행은 소명확인의 단계가 필수적임을 확인할 수 있었다. 둘째, 선교단체 간사의 소명실행은 주위 지지자들이 있을 때 더욱 지속됨을 알 수 있었다. 셋째, 선교단체 간사의 경력전환경험이 갖는 의미는 소명을 따라가는 삶에 있음을 알 수 있었다.

환경문제에 대한 소비자의 의식과 행동에 관한 연구-광주시여대생을 중심으로- (A Study on the Consumer Consciousness and Behavior on environmental problems -A survey of college Women Students in Kwangyu-)

  • The purpose of this study is to measure the overall level of consumer consciousness and behavior environmental problems of college women students and to analyze influencial factors. Five hundred and sixteen college women students were selected randomly, in Kwangju area. The methods of data analysis were Frequency Distribution, Mean , Percentile, one-Way ANOVA , Scheffe-test . Pearson's Correlation, and Stepwise Multiple Regression Analysis. Major finding are as follows; 1) The consumer consciousness and behavior an environmental problems of college women student showed significant differences according to the grade, age, major, socio-economic status, consumer education experience environmental problems, and frequencies of contacting mass media. 2) The consumer behavior on environmental problems of college women students had a positive relationship with consumer consciousness on environmental problems. Based on the above findings , this study suggests the followings; first the consumer education as a formal program is needed for the improvement of the consumer consciousness and behavior of college women student. Second. The content of the consumer education must emphasize more clearly the consumer rights in order to improve consumer's consciousness and behavior of environmental problems. Third. mass media of TV, radio, newspaper, magazine must be more active publicity and instruction in order to improve consumer's consciousness and behavior on environmental problems.

초등학교 과학 수업에서 과학영재 학생의 행동 특성이 일반 학생에게 미치는 영향에 대한 교사의 인식 (Teacher's Perception of Influence of Behavioral Characteristics of Scientifically-Gifted Students on General Students in Elementary School Science Classes)

  • This study analyzed the teacher's perception for influence of behavioral characteristics of scientifically-gifted students on general students in elementary school science class. To do this, we selected the eight elementary school teachers who were conducting the regular science classes including scientifically-gifted students belonging to the gifted education institutes in Seoul and conducted individual in-depth interviews. The analysis of the results reveal that the teachers mentioned seven behavioral characteristics of scientifically-gifted students in general elementary school science classes.: 'excellent in designing and performing experiments', 'playing a leading role in experiments', 'expressing their abundant prior knowledge frequently', 'attempting their tasks with curiosity and persistence', 'displaying scientific creativity', 'often asking scientific questions in detail', and 'expressing their opinions logically'. These behavioral characteristics of scientifically-gifted students had positive effects on general students, such as 'providing them with a successful experience in conducting experiments', 'improving understanding of science class contents', 'developing scientific thinking and reflective thinking', and 'improving their students' positive experiences about science'. However, the excessive learning-driven behaviors of scientifically-gifted students had negative effects on general students, such as 'limiting opportunities for general students to participate in classes', 'conducting passive exploration centered on results', and 'causing conflicts with general students'. Educational implications of these findings are discussed.

  • 본 연구에서는 제7차 수학과 교육과정 10-나 삼각함수 단원에서 구체적 조작물과 실험을 이용한 건물의 높이 너비를 측정하는 체험수학 활동을 통하여 학생들이 수학수업에 흥미를 갖고 수학의 필요성을 느낄 수 있는 방안을 제시하였다.

정보화사회의 교육 패러다임으로서 구성주의 -본질과 교육적 적용- (Constructivism : A Shifting Paradigm for Educational Practice in Information Society)

  • The information society is characterized by rapidly increasing and changing information. Traditional models of learning and instruct on have emphasized forms of mastering the information in content domains. Storing information and being able to recall it has been central to formal education. But it is no longer possible to master content domains. This paper discusses constructivism as a shifting paradigm for educational research and practice in information society. Constructivism provides an alternative epistemological base to the objectivist tradition. Constructivism holds that there is a real world that we experience. However, the argument is that meaning is imposed on the world by us, rather than existing in the world independently of us. Meaning is seen as rooted in experience. The experience in which an idea is embedded is critical to the individual's understanding of that idea. From the constructivist perspective, learning is not a stimulus-response phenomenon. It requires self-regulation and the building of conceptual structures through reflection and abstraction. Problems are not solved by the retrieval of rote-learned right answers. The effective motivation to continue learning can be fostered by leading students to experience the pleasure that is inherent in solving problems chosen as one's own. Constructivism requires the change of the teacher's role from a knowledge transmitter to a coach or facilitator of student's understanding. Constructivist teachers inquire about students' understanding of concepts before sharing their own understandings of those concepts, and encourage students to engage in dialogue, both with them arid with one another. In Korea, the educational reform called open education has been spreading through out the country. There should be a paradigm shift in learning and instruction from objectivism to constructivism for better educational reform in Korea.

'문학-미술-과학' 융합교육 프로그램의 개발 및 적용 사례 연구(II) (A Case Study(II) on Development and Application of 'Literature-Art-Science' Integrated Education Programs)

  • 본 연구는 '문학-미술-과학' 융합교육 프로그램의 개발과 적용을 통하여 학습자의 상상력 및 창의력의 향상을 확인하기 위한 사례 연구이다. 그 연구대상은 군산술산초등학교 1-4학년 학생 29명 중 25명이었다. 연구 시기는 2017년 9월부터 12월까지 4개월의 기간이었으며, 장소로는 군산술산초등학교 미술실을 활용했다. 10개 프로그램은 학년별로 매주 월요일부터 금요일까지 오후 1시부터 3시까지 2시간을 1회기로 총 10회기가 진행되었다. 연구자는 본 프로그램 10개 주제를 평면조형 8개와 입체조형 2개로 정하고, 여름방학 동안에 스토리텔링 작업을 완료했다. 그리고 그것들을 저:중:고(3:5:2)의 차별화된 수준으로 조정하였다. 평면조형은 '괴물 고릴라 영화 이야기'(저), '경주 최씨 정신 배우기'(중), '천연재료로 만든 내 친구 이야기'(저), '나의 꿈 해몽하기'(중), '내 스마트폰 속의 사물들을 모아보기'(중), '시집보내기 재판놀이'(중), '내가 좋아하는 동시를 그림 그리기'(고), '내가 좋아하는 동요를 그림 그리기'(고)이며, 입체조형은 '내 마음의 파랑새 찾기'(저), '내가 갖고 싶은 사물 만들기'(중)였다. 연구자는 주제별로 각기 다른 미술표현 기법을 활용했는데, 그것은 순서대로 마블링 기법, 한지공예 기법, 콤바인 페인팅 기법, 콜라주 기법, 촛불 그을림 기법, 콜라주 기법, 상상화 기법, 상상화 기법, 지점토공예 기법, 상상화기법이었다. 그리고 프로그램을 진행하면서 재료들의 생육과정이나 제조과정과 관련된 과학 지식을 전달하였다. 본 프로그램을 진행하기 이전과 진행한 이후에 토란스(Ellis Paul Torrance, 1915-2003)의 TTCT(The Torrance Tests of Creative Thinking) 도형 검사 B형과 A형으로 학습자의 융합적 사고력 및 감성적 체험을 고찰했다. 그리고 그 자료를 토대로 검사결과의 평균 차이의 유의성을 검증하기 위해서 대응 t-검증을 실시하였다. 창의력 요소별 및 평균 창의력 지수별로 분석한 결과 '유창성'에서는 유의한 차이(t=3.47, p<.01)가 나타났으며, '독창성'에서도 유의한 차이(t=3.59, p<.01)가 나타났다. 연구자가 이와 같은 작품의 제작과정, 결과물의 사진 자료 등을 정리, 분석한 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 미술중심 STEAM 수업으로 진행한 본 프로그램으로부터 문학적인 내용을 미술적인 내용으로 전환시키는 학습자의 융합적 사고력에서 종합적인 문제해결 능력이 향상되었다. 둘째, 학습자는 10가지 미술표현 기법을 활용한 미술중심 STEAM 수업을 통하여 학습에 대한 다양한 상상력, 창의성, 감성적 체험을 거두었다. 셋째, 학습자는 문제해결 과정에서 친구들과의 협동심, 의사소통, 배려하는 마음이 성숙해졌다. 넷째, 10가지 미술표현 기법을 진행함에 있어서 도입과 종료 시에 각 기법과 관련된 유명 작가와 작품의 소개를 통하여 학습자의 자기만족감이 고취되었다. 이와 같이 학습자의 융합적 사고력과 감성적 체험의 영역에 대한 통계 수치는 유의성이 있는 것으로 나타나 대부분의 학습자가 본 프로그램을 통하여 자신감 있게 창의적으로 표현해내는 능력의 향상을 가져왔음을 일러준다.

객관구조화진료시험을 이용한 성형외과학 진료능력평가: 3년간의 경험 (Evaluation of Clinical Competence in Plastic Surgery using OSCE(Objective Structured Clinical Examination): 3-Year Experience)

  • This is the evaluation report of clinical competence of undergraduate medical students in Plastic Surgery field using OSCE(Objective Structured Clinical Examination) executed in three years. OSCE comprises of assessment of subject, choice of clinical stations sampling, identification of components of clinical competence to be evaluated, the level of performance required, development of specification table, editing of OSCE presentation page and assessment of practicability and results exploitation. About fifty students were examined annually. Seven station stimuli with simulated patient participation were carried out. The mean OSCE score was $82.3{\pm}6.19$. The reliability of the total station was 0.72. The examination shows a positive response to the OSCE. Our experience shows OSCE's feasibility for Plastic Surgery during the initial course of education. Referring to our experiences, the Korean Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons (KPRS) applied the OSCE test for Korean Plastic Surgery Board Certification

응급구조과 대학생의 원격수업 경험 분석 (The experience of distanced synchronous and asynchronous learning in paramedic students through focus group interviews)

  • Purpose: The study was a qualitative study to examine the synchronous and asynchronous distanced learning experience of online paramedic students during the COVID-19 pandemic. Methods: The subjects included 10 students enrolled in the department of emergency medical service at J City C University. Written consent was provided by the subjects prior to the study, and focus group interviews were then conducted with sufficient explanation. The interviews were recorded and were directly transcribed immediately after the interview. Research results were then derived through content analysis. Results: A total of 4 domains and 9 categories were derived from the experiences of paramedic students on distanced learning. The 4 domains included "distanced lectures type," "student's adaptation and non-adaptation," "change of evaluation," and "learning anxiety." Conclusion: Contents of each domain derived from this study are expected to be used as basic data for the design of the distanced learning in the future.

응급구조과 학생의 임상실습 중 경험한 죽음의 의미에 대한 질적 연구 (A qualitative study on the meaning of death experienced by paramedic students during clinical practice)

  • Purpose: This study explored the values and attitudes toward the death of paramedic students. It comprehensively investigated paramedic students' first encounters with death during their clinical practice. Methods: Between December 2022 and January 2023, in-depth interviews were conducted with seven paramedic students who underwent clinical practice. Their experiences with death and grievances were explored by applying Colaizzi's (1978) phenomenological research method. Results: After exploring and analyzing the collected data, the context and meaning of the phenomenon were integrated. Resultingly, five major categories and 16 subcategories were derived. Conclusion: Universities should introduce a practical curriculum on experiences with death to reduce the negative emotions associated with death that paramedic students experience during their clinical practice and convert them into opportunities for reflection and growth.
