Dynamic displacement tracking of a one-storey frame structure using patch actuator networks: Analytical plate solution and FE validation

  • The present paper is concerned with the design of a proper patch actuator network in order to track a desired displacement of the sidewalls of a one-storey frame structure; both, for the static and the dynamic case. Weights for each patch of the actuator network found in our previous work were based on beam theory; in the present paper a refinement of these weights by modeling the sidewalls of the frame structure as thin plates is presented. For the sake of calculating the refined weights approximate solutions of the plate equations are calculated by an extended Galerkin method. The solutions based on the analytical plate model are compared with three-dimensional Finite Element results computed in the commercially available code ANSYS. The patch actuator network is put into practice by means of four piezoelectric patches attached to each of the two sidewalls of the frame structures, to which electric voltages proportional to the analytically refined patch weights are applied. Analytical and numerical results coincide very well over a broad frequency range.

  • By treating mer, trans-Re(${\equiv}NC_6H_5)(PPh_3)_2Cl_3$, Ⅰ, with 5 atm of CO at room temperature for 52 h, fac-Re(${\equiv}NC_6H_5)(CO)(PPh_3)Cl_3$, Ⅱ, was obtained as dark green precipitates in 81% yield. The crystal structure of Ⅱ was determined through X-ray diffraction. Ⅱ crystallizes in the monoclinic system, space group $P2_1/n$ with cell parameters a=9.740 (2) ${\AA}$, b=16.210 (5) ${\AA}$, c=16.192 (6) ${\AA}$, ${\beta}$=97.50 $(2)^{\circ}$, and Z=4. Least-squares refinement of the structure led to a R$(R_w)$ factor of 0.030 (0.036) for 2878 unique reflections of I>3${\sigma}(I)$ and for 241 variables. In comparison to the starting material Ⅰ, the bond distance of Re-N became longer from 1.726 (6) to 1.736 (5) ${\AA}$ and the bond angle of Re-N-C(Ph) became smaller from 172.6 (6) to 167.0 $(2)^{\circ}$, indicating that the Re-N bond in Ⅱ is weakened and has a less triple-bond character than that in Ⅰ.

Thermoelastic deformation behavior of functionally graded cylindrical panels with multiple perforations

  • The present article focuses on the thermoelastic deformation behavior of inhomogeneous functionally graded metal/ceramic cylindrical shell structure with multiple perforations using 2D finite element approximation. Here, cylindrical shell structure is considered with single (1×1) and multiple (2×2, 3×3 and 4×4) perforations. The temperature-dependent elastic and thermal properties of functionally graded material are evaluated using Voigt's micromechanical material scheme via power-law function. The kinematics of the proposed model is based on the equivalent single-layer first-order shear deformation mid-plane theory with five degrees-of-freedom. Here, 2D isoparametric finite element solutions are obtained using eight-node quadrilateral elements. The mesh refinement of present finite element model is performed to confirm the appropriate number of elements and nodes for the analysis purpose. Subsequently, a comparison test is conducted to demonstrate the accuracy of present results. In later section, numerous numerical illustrations are demonstrated at different set of conditions by varying structural, material and loading parameters and that confirms the significance of various parameters such as power-law index, aspect ratio, thickness ratio, curvature ratio, number of perforations and temperature on the deformation characteristics of functionally graded cylindrical shell structure.

Ultrasonic Vibration and Rheocasting for Refinement of Mg-Zn-Y Alloy Reinforced with LPSO Structure

  • In this work, ultrasonic vibration (UV) and rheo-squeeze casting was first applied on the Mg alloy reinforced with long period stacking ordered (LPSO) structure. The semisolid slurry of Mg-Zn-Y alloy was prepared by UV and processed by rheosqueeze casting in succession. The effects of UV, Zr addition and squeeze pressure on microstructure of semisolid Mg-Zn-Y alloy were studied. The results revealed that the synergic effect of UV and Zr addition generated a finer microstructure than either one alone when preparing the slurries. Rheo-squeeze casting could significantly refine the LPSO structure and ${\alpha}-Mg$ matrix in $Mg_{96.9}Zn_1Y_2Zr_{0.1}$ alloy without changing the phase compositions or the type of LPSO structure. When the squeeze pressure increased from 0 to 400 MPa, the block LPSO structure was completely eliminated and the average thickness of LPSO structure decreased from 9.8 to $4.3{\mu}m$. Under 400 MPa squeeze pressure, the tensile strength and elongation of the rheocast $Mg_{96.9}Zn_1Y_2Zr_{0.1}$ alloy reached the maximum values, which were 234 MPa and 17.6%, respectively, due to its fine ${\alpha}-Mg$ matrix (${\alpha}1-Mg$ and ${\alpha}2-Mg$ grains) and LPSO structure.

적응적 쉘유한요소를 이용한 박스형 구조물의 좌굴해석 (Buckling Analysis of Box-typed Structures using Adaptive Shell Finite Elements)

  • 본 논문에서는 적응적 h-유한요소 세분화에 의한 박스형 절판 구조물의 선형좌굴 유한요소해석법을 제안한다. 면내회전 자유도를 갖는 변절점 평판쉘유한요소를 사용하여 유한요소의 거동을 개선하고 6자유도를 갖는 다른 유한요소와의 자유도의 연결을 용이하게 한다. 이와 같이 개발된 평판쉘유한요소에 의하여 박스형 절판구조물의 정확한 구조해석이 가능한데, 변절점유한요소를 정식화함으로써 적응적 h-유한요소 세분화시에 발생하는 다른 패턴의 사각형 유한요소 세분화망의 연결을 용이하게 해결한다. 오차평가에 대한 개선된 응력장을 얻기 위하여 상위수렴 조각회복법을 적용한다. 이와 같이 상위수렴 조각회복법에 의한 개선된 응력장에 의하여 구성된 유한요소 세분화망을 이용하여 좌굴하중과 좌굴모드를 자동적으로 구할 수 있도록 한다.

  • 마그네슘 합금은 비중이 1.74로 가벼운데다 비강도는 구조용 금속 중에서 가장 크며, 방진성, 전자파 차폐성, 저용점 용 여러 가지 장점이 있어 최근 자동차 부품과 전자산업 제품 분야에서 이용이 크게 기대되는 금속이다. 그러나 마그네슘의 결정구조는 조밀 육방정이기 때문에 소성변형이 가능한 슬립면이 한정되어 있으며 압연이나 압출가공 시에는 강한 집합조직이 형성되어 상온가공이 곤란하다. 따라서 지금까지 성형성 개선을 위한 조직제어와 성형기술 분야에서 많은 연구개발이 이루어져 왔다. 본고에서는 결정립과 집합조직에 관한 미세조직의 제어방법, 용체성형, 압연 및 압출에 관한 성형가공 기술과 마그네슘 스크랩 리싸이클링 기술에 관하여 최근의 연구개발 사례를 소개한다.

  • 본 연구에서는 순수한 W에 B의 첨가량을 달리하여 플라즈마 아크 용해한 후, B가 용해잉고트와 재결정 후의 미세조직에 미치는 영향에 대하여 조직관찰, 결정립도 측정, 경도시험, AES 및 XRD 분석을 통하여 조사하였다. 조직관찰 및 결정립도 측정결과, B가 W의 고용한도 내의 조성으로 첨가되었을 때는 B의 첨가량에 따라 결정립이 급격히 감소하여 결정립미세화 효과를 나타내었다. 고용한도 이상의 조성으로 B가 첨가되었을 경우에는 B가 고용된 초정 W과 W-$W_2B$의 공정조직을 가진 2개의 상으로 이루어진 것이 관찰되었으며 AES 및 XRD 분석에 의해 확인되었다. B의 첨가량의 증가에 따라 재결정온도가 상승하였고 재결정립도가 미세화되는 것을 알 수 있었다.

  • We have investigated the L $i_{1+x}$M $n_2$ $O_4$system as a cathode material for lithium rechargeable batteries. To improve the cycle performance of spinel LiM $n_2$ $O_4$ as the cathode of 4V class lithium secondary batteries, spinel phase L $i_{1+x}$M $n_2$ $O_4$(x=0, 0.025, 0.05, 0.075) was prepared at 75$0^{\circ}C$ for 48h. The preparation of L $i_{1+x}$M $n_2$ $O_4$ from L $i_2$ $O_3$ and Mn $O_2$ under air is studied. The compounds were synthesized by using solid-state reaction. Structural refinements were carried out with a Rietveld-refinement program. Electrochemical properties were examined using the Li/L $i_{1+x}$M $n_2$ $O_4$ cells. The capacity of L $i_{1+x}$M $n_2$ $O_4$ decreases with increases lithium content, while the cycle life improves. The initial discharge capacity are 118mAh/g and 116mAh/g for LiM $n_2$ $O_4$ decreases with increases lithium content, while the cycle life improves. 리트벨트 구조분석법에 의한 $CeO_2$의 결정크기 및 미세응력 결정 (Determination of Crystal Size and Microstrain of $CeO_2$ by Rietveld Structure Refinement)

  • 최근 기능성 나노물질로서 반도체 공정 중 기계.화학적 평탄화(CMP)용 연마제로 중요하게 사용되는 세리아(Ceria, $CeO_2$)에 대해서 X-선 회절분석을 실시하여 리트벨트법에 의한 상세한 구조해석 및 세리아의 입자크기와 미세응력을 측정하였다. 두 시료(RT735. RT835)의 리트벨트 계산 결과 R지수 값은 각각 $R_p(%)=8.50$, 8.34; $R_{wp}(%)=13.4$, 13.5; $R_{exp}(%)=11.3$, 11.5; $R_B(%)=2.21$, 2.36; S(GofF: Goodness of fit)=1.2, 1.2를 보여주며 계산이 잘 이루어졌음을 알 수 있다. $CeO_2$는 공간군 Fm3m을 가지며, 격자상수는 a=5.41074(2), 5.41130(6) ${\AA}$, V=158.406(1), 158.455(3) ${\AA}^3$으로 각각 계산되었다. 입자크기 및 미세응력 계산 결과, RT735의 평균 입자크기와 최대 응력은 37.42(1) nm, 0.0026이며, RT835는 72.80(2) nm, 0.0013으로 각각 결정되었다. 입자크기와 미세응력은 서로 반비례함을 알 수 있다.

복식미범주(服飾美範疇)의 개념구조(槪念構造)에 관한 연구(硏究) -쉬크와 댄디즘을 중심으로- (A Study on Concept Structure of Categories in the Beauty of Clothing -On the basis of Chic and Dandism-)

  • Meaning of expressive words on the beauty of clothing is to comprehend inclusively with subjectivity and sensitivity. Suppose that meaning of the words was analysed, the study would be found type structural through a type of meaning component and inner reciprocity of elements. Category in the Beauty of Clothing was to consider various languages on beauty of clothing as the concept of the type. The purpose of this study was to clarify the concept structure of Categories in the Beauty of Clothing. In this paper 'Chic' and 'Dandism' were analyzed. As the result of the study, it is constructed at three different dimensions. They were the Beauty of phenomenone such as surface level, the Beauty of essence such as element level, and the Beauty of process that existed between the surface level and the element level. In addition, the idea words of each dimension were as follows; The Beauty of phenomenone was expressed 'refinement', 'wisdom' and 'originality'. The Beauty of essence was included 'subtlely', 'grace', and 'sence/reason'. The Beauty of process was included the method of 'harmony' and 'proficiency'.
