The Characteristics of space are determined by several factors; however, the element that determines the physical characteristic of floors, walls, and ceiling is the structure. This study constructs a wall to analyze the direct effect that the layout of an exhibition wall has on the element of the wall followed by the structural process and visibility of descriptive analysis and examples of art museums that the shift from a perceptional wall to an experiential wall affected circulation. For elements and formation methods of the wall, first, it is made up of open and closed type exhibition spaces, and it can give abundance in qualitative space rather than a quantitative aspect. Secondly, the directivity of space changes according to the development of the visible axis, thus, directly affects the change in visibility. Thirdly, the difference between spatial structure and visual structure is the difference between the visual axis and spatial structure. The wall formation type followed by the combination method, the simple visible structure, which is the type that possesses the simple combination (Room, Zone, Cluster), repeatedly uses the same size of units of space that is orderly and has few spatial axes and the classification of simple type and simple cluster type, which has few visible axes, also exists. Also, with the complex structure of the maze type it displays the reiterated form of the cluster, which is the space with disorderly combination and has much visible axes and spatial axes. Also, these can be divided into three types: 1) Maze Cluster Type, 2) Cross Road Type, and 3) Open Flexible Type. These wall types lead the various changes in circulation, and even each of the arrangement qualities of the exhibitions should be researched according to its exhibition place type.
We introduce the $k_0$-proximity space as a generalization of the Efremovi$\check{c}$-proximity space. We try to show that $k_0$-proximity structure lies between topological structures and uniform structure in the sense that all topological invariants are $k_0$-proximity invariants and all $k_0$-proximity invariants are uniform invariants.
The purpose of this study is to construct a total design & manufacturing system for the Space-Truss structure. In this study, we choose the transmission tower as the study model to show the possibility of a Total System for another space truss structure. We are confident that this total system should provide more convenience, accuracy and should help to save time from the design stage to construct stage of the transmission tower.
The purpose of this thesis is to provide basic information of efficient flow line arrangement, which results from examining the factors of route choice with a focus on the store' space elements and pedestrian activity patterns in the outlets. The route tracking is applied to grasp pedestrian activity patterns, therefore, a concrete analysis into influential factors of the space structure arrangement and forms on route choice. The route tracking is a means to understand pedestrian activity patterns by establishing an unrecognizable space and examining every route in the investigating area for pedestrian activity pattern research. Three sample stores have different systems in the ground plan structures, the escalator location and the directions. The analysis focuses on the booth arrangement and shopping patterns. In conclusion, route choice of the customers and the structure of the space are quite closely related and affect the quality of shopping. This can suggest evidence for the need of the space structure to meet the pedestrian activity patterns.
We deal with the classification problem of real hypersurfaces in a complex hyperbolic space. In order to classify real hypersurfaces in a complex hyperbolic space we characterize a real hypersurface M in $H_n(\mathbb{C})$ whose structure vector field is not principal. We also construct extrinsically homogeneous real hypersurfaces with four distinct curvatures and their structure vector fields are not principal.
We study the stability of the magnetic structure in active region (AR) 12371 producing an M6.5 flare on June 22 2015. We first perform a nonlinear force-free fields (NLFFFs) extrapolation to derive three-dimensional (3D) magnetic fields based on time series of observed photospheric magnetic fields. The NLFFFs well describe an observed sigmoidal structure with the shape of a double arc magnetic configuration. Next, we examine three possible instabilities (kink, torus, and double arc) to investigate how the M6.5 flare is triggered in the double arc loops. Consequently, the double arc loops are stable against kink and torus instabilities, but possibly unstable against the double arc instability before the flare occurrence. Finally, we discuss a probable scenario for the M6.5 flare.
This study tries to categorize trends of "structure and skin integration" and understand the expressive characters of each architectural type. To do so, we listed up 8 architects who are quoted twice or more in related researches, then analyzed their 25 contemporary buildings which integrated structure and skin since 2000. As a result, this study defined four types based on the way of building tectonic system of structure and skin. Key feature of "linear structure-two dimensional skin" type is the communication with the surroundings as a result of .geometric architectural forms, patterned surface and reflection. Characters of "linear-three dimensional" type are organic architectural forms, sculptural skin, and the mysterious space. "Planar-two dimensional" type is a transformational geometry form to express the dramatic images through the skin, therefore gives a sense of rhythm and dynamics to space. "Planar structure-three dimensional" type highlights the texture, and exposes boundary of the inside and outside. In architectures we studied, the structure is the way to make a creative forms and space, and the skin to express various meanings. That said, the "structure and skin integration" is the means of aggressive design expression.
Identification of the modal properties of a structural system has received much attention over the years because of its importance in structural model updating, structural health monitoring and structural control. This paper presents experimental modal test results such as natural frequencies and mode shapes of a scale model of floating structure. A modal testing is performed on the structure and modal parameters for the structure are extracted from the measured data. The results are compared to a finite element model and the correlation between the measured and analytical modal parameters is investigated.
Let M be a semi-invariant submanifold with almost contact metric structure (𝜙, 𝜉, 𝜂, g) of codimension 3 in a complex space form Mn+1(c), c≠ 0. We denote by S and R𝜉 be the Ricci tensor of M and the structure Jacobi operator in the direction of the structure vector 𝜉, respectively. Suppose that the third fundamental form t satisfies dt(X, Y) = 2𝜃g(𝜙X, Y) for a certain scalar 𝜃(≠ 2c) and any vector fields X and Y on M. In this paper, we prove that M satisfies R𝜉S = SR𝜉 and at the same time R𝜉𝜙 = 𝜙R𝜉, then M is a Hopf hypersurface of type (A) provided that the scalar curvature s of M holds s - 2(n - 1)c ≤ 0.
