  • Clothes and human body are inseparably related. Aesthetic consciousness of the body determines the form of clothing, reflecting the time and culture as well as the individual and society. Clothes can even reorganize the meaning of the body, while transcending their instrumental functions of protecting, expanding and deforming the body. Using 'body' to analyze the clothing farm, my study develops a framework by which to classify the representation of the body in fashion focusing on the representation of physicality. In order to inquire the formative style and aesthetic values expressed in representing body in fashion, my study examines subjects from the 14th century European costumes to fashion collections of the 20th century. In fashion, representation of the body is visually analogous to the ideal body shape and structure, including a realistic presentation of the body as well as reflection of aesthetic ideals. Representation of physicality refers to structural designs and elastic fabrication. Structural designs appeared in tailoring and bias-cut draping, as well as in stretchy clothes such as Lycra body suit and knit garments that highlights the body structure and movements of the body joints. In representing physicality in fashion, clothing forms reflect body silhouette and each body parts. Therefore, the shape of clothes (signifiant) corresponds to the anatomy and movement of the body ($signifi\'{e}$) in pursuit of aptness. Aesthetic ideal of the body is visualized in the form of a dress. Some clothes prioritize the body, particularly the feminine bodily curves, while others focus on the clothing itself as abstract and sculptural forms. Fashion continues to explore forms and images that transcend the traditional representations of the clothed body. As a type of intimate architecture, fashion always mediates the dialogue between clothes and body, or fashion and figure. My study suggests a framework to analyze bodily representation in fashion, focusing on the relationship between the clothes and body.

  • A study on the image identification of urban streetscape is valuable for illuminating identity that is not yet fully approached in the field of environmental design. This analysis of urban streetscape for image identification allows us to make a more detailed exploration of an important approaching methods in dealing with the structural characteristics of identity. As a matter of fact, the earlier indirect studies on this image identification were made by environmental designers, such as architectural and urban designer in the field of environmental perception and came to its environmental cognition & environmental pattern research with assistances by such researchers as K. Lynch A. Rapoport & Christopher Alexander. Through its environmental perception research, we can see its structural characteristics that is aesthetic & visual structural contents of physical environmental elements. And we can see its cognitive characteristics through the environmental cognitive research, that is continuity, territoriality, identity of place, uniqueness or individuality, meaning & symbolism. Through its environmental pattern research, we can see its physical, socio - economic, cultural and symbolic pattern identification contents, that is physical form of the city, style of the street, pattern of streetscape, socio- economic & geographical locality, arid life cycle, life style, common style of the behavior, cultural pattern of the activity, socio - cultural expression of the symbol. In these process, we can set up a set of the environmental design criterias from those three integral studies for identity. And for an environmental research, Tongsung-Ro around the CBD (central business district) in Taegu City was selected for a case study, because this streetscape is suitable for that approaching methods in this study.

  • This study analyzed consumer attitude, habit strength, subjective norm, a pros evaluation, and intention to consume to estimate perceptible variables that affect apple consumption. Data were collected from 207 men and women through a selfadministrated questionnaire. A partial least squares regression was conducted as one of structural equation models to estimate and test hypotheses. The results showed that attitude, habit strength, and the pros evaluation affected the intention to consume apples, and that the intention increased apple consumption. The results also showed that some marketing strategies are needed to promote apple consumption and to make consumers change their intention, to develop habits for eating apples by changing their diets, and to impress upon them that apples are good for health. This can be interpreted as meaning that it is most important to understand consumer behavior, particularly consumer psychology, which is reflected in the recent trend of marketing that concentrates on meeting the consumer's needs rather than the producer's.

  • Exhibition can be a type of mass-communication since it should contains some 'meaning' or 'message' that is to be delivered. The purpose of visiting museum is to view exhibits. Thus, factors, such as exhibits, exhibition media, show-case, direction signs, and gates, form visual perception, which means there exists homogeneity between visual perception and action. Visitors acquire knowledge by the space interaction when one can acknowledge the consecutive time flow while moving along the exhibition space. Visitors' movements can be formed by visual and perceptive experience that follows environmental stimulus and individual desire. Therefore, museum visitors experience certain shift flow with visual perception caused by the continuity of space. Thus, the research on development of focus in continuity is required. In addition, if the quality of exhibition space and organized continuity with visual diversity can be improved in exhibition design, it would expand the function of communication in exhibitions.

  • Art belongs to men's mentality and plays the most representative role in mentality. The organization of mentality is complex, it has simple and distinct movement evolving into various configuration to achieve men's internal meaning and aim. The purpose of this study is to analyze Max Bill's characteristics of the spatial expression on his works, especially focuses on the concept called "simplicity". The simplicity does not means just a conceptual or formal terminology, but the logical principles of spatial organization through repeating arrangement, structural relationship, off-central ideas and the sequence of signs using by the composition of lines, faces and colors. He expressed the logical methods in various fields of art and has influenced his essential thoughts and emotion in men's mentality of the late 20th century20th century.

  • Periodic and quasi-periodic Timoshenko beams on Pasternak foundation are investigated using the differential quadrature method. Not only band gaps in the beams but also the dynamic response of them is analyzed. Numerical results show that vibration in periodic beams can be dramatically attenuated when the exciting frequency falls into band gaps. Different from the band structures of periodic beams without foundation, the so-called critical frequency was found because of the Pasternak foundation. Its physical meaning was explained in detail and a useful formula was given to calculate the critical frequency. Additionally, a comprehensive parameter study is conducted to highlight the influence of foundation modulus on the band gaps.

  • This paper was utilized the STKM13C tubes for machine structural purposes model, inner radius was 100 mm and outer radios was 140 mm, axial length was semi-infinite and the isoparametric element was used. Radial, tangential and shearing stress occured the maximum stresses(-20, 52 and 26 MPa) at the inner radius and the minimum stresses at the outer radius. of the hydraulic actuator cylinders for an industrial systems. But negative signs have meaning compressive stress and stress diminution ratio was about 0.15 MPa/mm And then coincidence between the simulation and exact results(Lame' equation) is found to be fairly good, showing that the proposed analytical by BEM are reliable.

  • The Architects' design process is subjective and mysterious'. If we can reveal this process, it will be very helpful to proceed similar design projects. In the aspect of steel production, Korea is a strong country, but in the aspect of steel usage, Korea does not show its impacts as compared with other countries'. Even though steel has many merits in design as well as in structure, in Korea we have not applied it as design elements. In this situation, the demand of steel in school buildings is increasing, but steel also is used only on the basis of the structural and material meaning. So this thesis tries to find design elements of steel structure buildings, which can be applied in school buildings, through the analysis of existing steel structure buildings and the characteristics of steel.

  • The purpose of this study is to clarify the geomorphological characteristics of middle part of Korea. The purpose of this study is to clarify the fault structures in the Chukaryong Rift Valley. The Rift Valley has very significant meaning to interprete the development of Korean structural landforms. But till now the mechanism and processes of the formation of the Rift Valley are not clearly proved IMAGEM is very useful in this study. IMAGEM is developed by the Electromagnetic Instrument, Inc. and it covers $0.001{\sim}20,000Hz.$ Form the field survey data, it is certain that the faulted structures exist in the two points of the Rift Valley. But the Rift Valley is too long and braod to check the an evidences of the faulted structures.

  • This review examined trends in research on the assessment of Korean children's story comprehension. Specific areas that were analyzed included types of questions asked in the assessment and variables treated as relevant to the assessment of story comprehension. Literal, inferential, and critical questions were identified. Among the 33 studies reviewed, 20 used all 3 types of questions, the other 13 used only literal questions. The studies using only literal questions interpreted comprehension of a story as "comprehension of letters and/or components of a story." The other studies interpreted it as "comprehension of implied meaning of a story." Other relevant variables were "teaching strategies" (29 studies) and "structural components" (4 studies). None of the studies treated "children's internal variables related to story comprehension."
