창의적 사고력을 이용한 미학적 교량 설계 (Aesthetic Bridge Design using Creative Thinking)

  • 교량설계문제란 주어진 조건을 만족하는 해를 찾아가는 과정이며, 설계결과의 질적 수준은 개념적 설계단계에서 문제의 제약적 조건을 어떻게 합리적 설계대안으로 연계시키는지에 따라서 현저히 달라진다. 이 논문에서는 아름다운 교량형태를 위해서 창의적 사고력을 이용하여 정성적 교량설계 대안을 생성하는 개념적 설계를 위한 교량형태 생성방법에 주안점을 둔다. 이 연구에서 창의력은 무에서 유를 창조하는 것이 아니라 기존 개념들의 재구성을 의미한다. 이러한 창의력은 역학적 힘과 형태와의 관계를 토대로 이루어지는 구조시스템의 생성질서를 확장시키는 것뿐만 아니라, 건축양식과 같은 예술적 요소를 교량설계와 접목하는 것을 포함한다. 또한, 개념적 설계단계에서 교량형태 생성과정에 시각적 구조해석 결과를 보여주는 정력학적 도해법이 매우 효율적임을 살펴본다. 이 연구에서 제시하는 교량형태 생성방법은 실무자들에게뿐만 아니라 미학적 교량설계 교육에 대한 새로운 교육모델로도 사용될 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.

국내 모듈러 주택의 특성 및 MC 설계를 통한 건축자재 표준화 효과 분석 (An Analysis on Architectural Characteristics of Domestic Modular Housing and Building Material Standardization Effect through MC Design)

  • Modular construction is a process in which a building is produced off-site in module boxes using standard materials. Since the introduction of prefabrication in building construction, Modular Coordination (MC) has become an essential design tool in building design and construction. However, in Korea, the design standardization has not been adequately applied to modular construction. This study intends to analyze the current status of modular construction in Korea and explore the applicability of MC design in the construction industry. The analysis of the current status of MC design within Korean four major modular construction companies indicates that an incremental dimension is not properly used in horizontal planning modules, which results in a problem of increasing construction cost by high material loss rate. But, in vertical planning modules, a incremental dimension of 100 mm (1 M) is found to be used although the structural system varies among manufacturers, which demonstrates the potential for an open system to be well applied in modular construction, despite different structural systems.

진동대 실험을 통한 외부보강형 판넬조립식 물탱크의 내진성능평가 (Seismic Performance Evaluation of Externally Reinforced Panel Water Tank Using Shaking Table Tests)

  • In this study, an externally reinforced structural system for SMC(Sheet Molding Compound) panel water tank, designed according to the Japanese design code, is experimented to evaluate its seismic performance. The test tank is 3m long, 2m wide and 3m high, considering the capacity and size of the shaking table. The measured hydrodynamic pressures are found to be approximately 70% of the Japanese design code values. It may be partially due to the convex shape effect of the unit panels. The analytical results of externally reinforced system based on the measured dynamic water pressures are found in good agreement with the test results. If the design hydrodynamic pressures are estimated properly, the proposed analytical model for the externally reinforced water tank becomes a useful design tool and the Japanese design code is found to provide a safe design for the external frames of SMC panel water tank.

축소시스템과 영역분할 기법과의 연동을 통한 대형구조물 설계 기법 연구 (Structural Design Optimization on the Reduced System Constructed from Large-Scaled Problem)

  • In the present study, sizing and shape optimizations are performed based on the reduced system of large-scaled problem. In the analysis part to achieve efficiency and reliability of computation, two-level condensation scheme is applied. In the construction of reduced system of large scaled problems, it is much more efficient to use sub-domain method. Thus, in the present paper, two-level reduction method combined with sub-domain method is employed. Once the reduced system is constructed, it is straightforward to obtain design sensitivities from the analysis results of the reduced system We use semi-analytic method to obtain design sensitivities. Performance of the efficiency and reliability of the present reduction method in the structural optimization problem is demonstrated through the numerical examples. The present framework of reduction method should serve as a fast and reliable design tool in analysis and design of large-scaled dynamic problems.

모듈러 RMT의 구조형태 생성을 위한 새로운 방법 (A New Method for Generating Structural Configurations of Modular-Reconfigurable Machine Tool)

  • This study describes a new method of constructing Reconfigurable machine tools configurations from a set of modules or components. This proposed method defines combinability vector for each module and mutual combinability coefficient matrix for adjacent two modules. All of machine configurations possible to be generated from any two adjacent modules can be determined by quadratic form of two associated combinability vectors. Furthermore, all of possible RMT configurations generating from a series of multiple modules also can be obtained by multiplying quadratic form of two adjacent conbinability vectors recursively. Our proposed RMT configuration generating method can be successfully applied to determining all of possible machine configurations from several modules or components at conceptual- or preliminary- design stage.

Lateral load effects on tall shear wall structures of different height

  • A three-dimensional formulation is proposed to analyze the lateral loading distribution of external actions in high-rise buildings. The method is extended to encompass any combination of bracings, including bracings with open thin-walled cross-sections, which are analyzed in the framework of Timoshenko-Vlasov's theory of sectorial areas. More in detail, the proposed unified approach is a tool for the preliminary stages of structural design. It considers infinitely rigid floors in their own planes, and allows to better understand stress and strain distributions in the different bearing elements if compared to a finite element analysis. Numerical examples, describing the structural response of tall buildings characterized by bracings with different cross-section and height, show the effectiveness and flexibility of the proposed method. The accuracy of the results is investigated by a comparison with finite element solutions, in which the bracings are modelled as three-dimensional structures by means of shell elements.

  • The purpose of this study is to propose an curriculum for architectural studio in university to implement BIM process, through the analysis of the advantages of the BIM tool. The limitation of this study was to analyze the case study of only half year a single university. University education in the design process, the design that can be used in applying BIM content should be universal, university education considering the special working conditions, excessive BIM-based application can be difficult. Therefore, a systematic and reliable design that can be applied to education applies BIM design process is necessary to establish. University education applying BIM design review and design proposal the various 3D visualization can be used effectively to determine. In addition, the planned representation for thinking about and drawing 3D model building, architectural space can be used for visualization, and other subjects in conjunction with structural analysis, environmental analysis, facility layout, etc. can be used.

구조 최적화를 위한 Metropolis 유전자 알고리즘을 개발과 호율성 평가 (Development and Efficiency Evaluation of Metropolis GA for the Structural Optimization)

  • 모사풀림(SA)의 특징적인 Metropolis 규준을 단순 유전자 알고리즘(SGA)의 재생산 연산과정에 도입함으로써 Metropolis 유전자 알고리즘(MGA)이 개발되고, 구조 설계 최적화에 응용되었다. 이러한 결합을 통하여 MGA는 개체의 다양성을 유지하며, 초기 세대에서 나타날 수 있는 유용한 유전자 정보가 보존될 수 있다. 따라서 이 연구에서 제안된 MGA는, 국부적 최적해로 조기 수렴하게 되는 SGA의 단점과 정밀한 전역적 최적해를 찾기 위해 수없이 많은 계산을 해야 하는 SA의 단점을 극복하게 되었다 수치예를 통하여 MGA의 성능과 적용성을 재래의 알고리즘들과 비교하고 평가하였다. 특히 MGA의 성능 신뢰성과 강건성을 평가하는 데는 집단 크기와 최대 반복세대수의 효과를 인용하였다. 이론적 고찰과 수치예의 결과로부터, 이 연구에서 개발된 MGA가 효율성과 신뢰성을 갖춘 구조 설계 최적화의 도구로서 평가되었다.

선택적 요소방법을 이용한 형상 최적 설계 기법 개발 (Development of Shape Optimization Scheme Using Selective Element Method (Application to 2-D Problems))

  • The structural shape optimization is a useful tool for engineers to determine the shape of a structure. During the optimization process, relocations of nodes happen successively. However, excessive movement of nodes often results in the mesh distortion and eventually deteriorates the accuracy of the optimum solution. To overcome this problem, an efficient method for the shape optimization has been developed. The method starts from the design domain which is large enough to hold the possible shape of the structure. The design domain has pre-defined uniform fine meshes. At every cycle, the method judges whether all the elements are inside of the structure or not. Elements inside of the structure are assigned with real material properties, however elements outside of the structure are assigned with nearly zero values. The performance of the method is evaluated through various examples.

트림 부품의 부착에 따른 중형 버스의 동특성 변화 분석 (Analysis of Dynamic Characteristics Change of Middle-Sized Bus by Attachment of Trim Components)

  • In general, a fundamental structural design consideration for an automobile is the overall dynamic behavior in bending and torsion. Dynamic behavior of the automobile are mainly influenced by the structural stiffness of B.I.W.(body-in-white) and the physical property of trim components. In this paper, the modeling techniques for various trim components of middle-sized bus are presented, and the dynamic effects of the trim components on the vibration characteristics of the bus are investigated. The $1^{st}$ torsional frequency is decreased by attaching windshield and backlite to the B.I.W., but the $1^{st}$ vertical bending frequency and the $1^{st}$ lateral bending frequency are increased. The natural frequencies of the bus are decreased by attaching doors and windows. And also, the natural frequencies of the bus are large decreased by attaching seats, instrument panel etc. The study shows that the dynamic characteristics of the bus can be effectively predicted in the initial design stage.
