This paper proposes a novel method of projecting a multiple stripe pattern whose intensity profile is sinusoidal. The sinusoidal stripe patterns are plated with chromium on a piece of glass, and the glass is placed within an optical projection system. By linearly moving the glass along the direction of the stripe pattern, the projection system generates the motion blurring effect, and as a result, produces a blurred stripe pattern whose intensity profile is sinusoidal along the perpendicular direction of the stripe pattern. The sinusoidal pattern improves the measurement accuracy of phase-shifting method. Experimental results are provided for three different types of stripe patterns: rectangle, diamond, and sinusoid.

The purpose of this study is to find out various types of stripes pattern and to review its' design expression by analysing stripe pattern and visual effect appeared in western women's fashion after 20th centuries. As regards the visual effect of stripe pattern, on the basis of the stripe pattern's direction laid out, we made an investigation of it by classfying it into verticality, horizontality, slant line and mixture of them according to its' gap and thickness. Here are the 4 features of the stripe pattern appeared in modern fashions. The first, graphic variation based on diverse variation and reconstruction and combination between other motives is being onthe rise as a new expression. The second, colorful stripes of Missoni can be exanpled as the trend of diversification of color. The third, as regards the trend of mismatch in pattern, coordination through mismatch can produce experimental and post-modern image. The fourth, as for the expression of draping effect, we find that stripe pattern can maximaze visual effect through draping by inducing visual stimulus, as well as can express human body in a beautiful manner.

This study examined the trend of pattern which appeared throughout men's clothing fashion magazine from 1999 to 2002 and the influence which the demographic characteristic have on the sensibility dimension of pattern and the preference degree of kinds of pattern. The results of study were as follows. 1) The pattern which was used most frequently on recent men's clothing was a length stripe, and the representation technique which was used most frequently on recent men's clothing was the technique of a geometric expression. 2) The pattern which men and women preferred most out of ten kinds of patterns-length stripe, width stripe, oblique stripe, check, square, waterdrop, paisley, flower of style shape, flower of realistic shape, flower of shape-was a length stripe. 3) The sensibility dimension of pattern image was composed of fascination, dignity, daring, gentleness, and reality. 4) Because sensitivity dimension and kinds of pattern were significant according to the distinction of sex, vocation, academic career, income, this study can conclude the demographic characteristic have an influence on sensitivity dimension and kinds of pattern.

A purpose of this study was to find out how the casual and formal style clothes of stripe pattern giving variety by pattern direction, pattern width, and contrast coloration have an effect on image of wearers. 432 stimuli were made and 2,800 testee evaluated them using semantic differential scale. As a result, five image dimensions were drawn as a factor of attractiveness, activeness, gracefulness, visibility, and tenderness. In consequence of analysing the image difference by stripe pattern and clothing style, the stripe pattern and clothing style affect image presentation as a significant clue. And besides, as a result of positioning stimuli by image, pattern direction, coloration, and tone combination were important clues that decide image. Consequently, clothing style, stripe pattern, and contrast coloration were made clear as an efficient parameter in image presentation of clothing wearers.

This study evaluates the difference of visual effect according to pant style and geometric pattern. The researcher made 28 stimuli-combination of four pant Stiles (classic, baggy, skinny, and bell-bottom) and seven geometric pattern (large vertical stripe, small vertical stripe, large horizontal stripe, small horizontal stripe, large check, small check, and hound's tooth check). The test involved 96 female college students. The stimuli were made with the i-Designer computer program. The panels tested the computer screen images of all manikins wearing pants. A 7-point scale was used to evaluate each image. For the data analysis, ANOVA and Duncan-test were applied along with an SPSS program. The results of this study are as follows. Three factors (lower-body compensation, abdomen highlight, and length compensation) influenced the visual effect pant styles and geometric patterns. The skinny style and large vertical stripe evaluated positively in elongated height and leg length and a slimmer overall body. It was shown that the vertical stripe pattern was evaluated as more positive than the horizontal stripe pattern in the visual effect; particularly, the results showed distinct aspects in the classic pants style. The mutual influence of the visual effect (according to pants style and geometric pattern) were indicated as two factors of lower-body compensation and length compensation. A more positive visual effects resulted in a higher mutual influence on pant style and geometric pattern.

파밤나방(Spodoptera exigua (H bner)) 유충의 형태적 유전지표를 규명하기 위해 유충의 체색과 줄무늬 변이에 관하여 분석하였다. 유충 체색은 먹이 종류에 따라 다양했다. 유충 줄무늬는 배선과 측선의 존재에 따라 3종류의 형질 개체로 나뉘었다. 3줄무늬(배선과 측선 모두존재), 1줄무늬(배선만존재), 0줄(배선과 측선 모두 없음). 이들 형질이 유전적 영향에 있는지를 조사하기 위해 3줄과 1줄집단으로 집단선발한 결과 각 선발 형질의 비율이 증가했다. 3줄과 1줄집단을 상호교배하였을 때 3줄 형질이 우성을 보였다. 줄무늬 형질에 있어서 협의의 유전력(h$^2$)은 $0.50\pm$0.42로 산출되었다. 0줄집단에서 암컷수가 수컷수에 비해 약2배 많았다. 환경적 요인을 조사하기 위해 동일 집단을 3종류의 먹이에서 사육했을때 인공사료와 상치로 키운 집단간에는 유충줄무늬에는 유의성있는 차이는 없지만 파로 사육된 집단에서는 3줄개체의 비율이 낮아져 차이를 보였다. 이들 유충의 줄무늬는 유충과 용의 발육속도 및 내한성과 연관성을 보였으나 살충제 감수성과는 무관함을 나타냈다.

The purpose of this study was examining the preference difference of the necktie design for the stripe patterns according to the demographic characteristics. The study method was a research study through a survey. The study subject was the adult men in their from 20's to 50's. The study stimulative was the stripe patterns of man's necktie which were made by Adobe Photoshop 9 with using the color, the arrangement, the interval, and the width of necktie. The results of study are as follows. As the difference analysis result for the color preference for stripe pattern according to the demographic characteristic, men in their 20's preferred most gray series, men whose monthly income is less than two millions won and men of owner-operator preferred most red series, and all the rest of men preferred blue series. As the difference analysis result for the preference of arrangement type, men in their 20's preferred most the stripe pattern of width, students preferred most the stripe pattern of length, all the rest of men preferred most the stripe pattern of diagonal. As the difference analysis result for the preference of stripe interval for necktie, unmarried men, students, men in their 20's, and men engaging in sales/service and production work preferred most the interval of 0.6cm, all the rest of men preferred most the interval of 1.2cm. As the difference analysis result for the preference of necktie width, unmarried men, men in their 20's, men engaging in sales/service and production work, and students preferred most the width of 7cm, all the rest of men preferred most the interval of 8cm.

A purpose of this study is to 6nd out how the casual and formal style clothes of stripe pattern giving variety by pattern direction, pattern width, and contrast coloration have an effect on image of wearers. For this, 192 stimuli were made and 1200 testee evaluated them using semantic differential scale. As a result, five image dimensions were drawn as a factor of attractiveness, gracefulness, activeness, visibility, and tenderness. Unlike the value contrast previously researched, it showed that chroma contrast coloration which was interacted with a color tone contrast coloration had an effect on all the 5 image dimensions. This result was recognized as significant clothes dues in evaluating the image of stripe wearers. Besides, clothing style, stripe pattern, and contrast coloration were made clear as an efficient parameter in image presentation of clothing wearers.

This study puts emphasis on showing the change of Stripe Pattern, which has been popular for a long period of time in many societies, with change in time, assessing its value as an art. During medieval period, Strife Pattern had a strong negative meaning as a sign of disgrace or inferiority, or had been used as discrimination against a mental or a sinner, who had been rejected or banished from the society. Through French Revolution, Stripe Pattern has become a symbol of liberty and equality, furthermore, the notion of society as well as countries. This event had positively affected on reevaluating its image, from inferior, negative to significant, artistic. Eventually the variety of aesthetic values of Stripe Pattern led its way to the variation of its functional value expanding its use other than fashion industry. It is anticipated that our fashion industry will flourish in creating new, creative design by understanding design and appreciating their aesthetic values with their applications to human sensibility.

In this paper, we present new methods for rapid high-resolution range sensing using green-blue stripe pattern. We use green and blue for designing high-frequency stripe projection pattern. For accurate and reliable range recovery, we identify the stripe patterns by our color-stripe segmentation and unwrapping method. The experimental result for a naked human face shows the effectiveness of our method.
