Global climate change is becoming one of the greatest challenges facing humanity. This article proposes a psychological perspective of climate change adaptation. Climate change-related severe adverse weather events may trigger mental health problems, including increased post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), depression, anxiety, violence, and even suicide. Forced migration could be considered a coping method for dealing with weather events, but it may also pose a psychological threat. People respond to severe weather events in different ways based on their individual characteristics. Psychological risks from adverse weather events are mediated and moderated by these factors, which are influenced by personal cognition, affect, and motivation. Examinations from a psychological perspective, which have been neglected in the science of climate change thus far, may provide keys to successful adaptation and the prevention of serious psychological problems resulting from the experience of severe weather events. A new prevention strategy has been suggested for coping with climate threats through encouraging attitude change, establishing proactive support systems for vulnerable groups, establishing a PTSD network, and implementing a stress inoculation program.
This study aims to investigate the stress factors of students in Dental Hygiene Department who will soon take the national examination, corresponding countermeasures and relationship of internal and external personality. On the basis of the results from investigation, this study will identify the methods to effectively cope with stress and to take the national examination with more positive thinking for the students and faculty members in Dental Hygiene Department, who have to pass the difficult test, the national examination. The structured questionnaires were given to junior students in Dental Hygiene Department in three colleges, to identify the stress factors, methods to deal with stress and A/B personality types. For the stress factor by field, the M college showed significantly higher stress about curriculum and assignment than the C college. In the stress factor analysis by item, the lack of information on national examination in the test area, all items in learning environment, a quantity of assignment that doesn't help the preparation of national examination in the assignment area, and lack of information on employment in job area demonstrated the significant difference(p<0.05). For the methods of subjects to deal with stress, several subcategories of long-term and short-term adaptation had significance. In case of the methods to deal with stress by personality type, B type in the short-term adaptation method in M college and A type in the long-term adaptation method in C college were significantly higher(p<0.05). As for the correlation between the population sociological features and stress factors by personality type, health status had the high correlation with test in the test area. In other areas, the travel hours to school showed the significant correlation. The higher the records were, the longer the travel hours were and the better the health status was, the higher the long-term adaptation method scores were. Moreover, the personality of A type showed the higher scores in the long-term adaptation method than that of B type. The health status and personality type showed the significant correlation(p<0.05). In conclusion, it is required to prevent any situations b identify the personality type and stress reasons of the students in Dental Hygiene Department who will take the national examination soon. The additional requirement is the continuing interest and counseling of faculty members to help students to cope with stress with positive attitude.

In this paper, we intend to examine the mediating effects of self-esteem and school life adaptation in the path between cultural adaptation stress and life satisfaction of multicultural adolescents, and propose ways to improve the life satisfaction level of multicultural adolescents. As analysis data for this purpose, the 4th, 5th, and 6th panel data of multicultural youth of the Korea Youth Policy Research Institute were used, and multivariate potential growth model analysis was performed using the statistical programs SPSS 23.0 and Amos 23.0 version. In addition, the individual mediating effects of self-esteem and school life adaptation were verified using phantom variables. As a result of the analysis, it was possible to confirm the longitudinal mediating effects of self-esteem and school life adaptation, which suggests that multi-dimensional efforts are needed to improve self-esteem and school life adaptation level to improve the life satisfaction level of multicultural adolescents. Therefore, based on the results of this study, practical measures to improve the life satisfaction of multicultural adolescents were presented in detail.

This paper describes the relationship and influencing factors among academic stress, university life adaptation, and health promotion behaviors of health college students. Data were collected from October 2017 to May 2018 using a structural questionnaire, which was completed by 223 health college students in D metropolitan city. The collected data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, T-test, ANOVA, correlation, and multiple regression using an IBM SPSS 20.0. As a result, the mean scores were as follows: academic stress, 3.02±0.89; university life adaptation, 3.16±0.48; health promotion behavior, 2.14±0.45. Correlation analysis of the variables revealed a negative relationship between academic stress and health promotion behavior and a positive relationship between university life adaptation and health promotion behavior. The factors affecting the health promotion behavior were the economic level, satisfaction with major, academic stress, and university life adaptation, which explained approximately 37.5% of the total. In conclusion, to increase the health promotion behavior of health-related college students, it is necessary to develop programs that reduce academic stress and improve university life adaptation. In addition, systematic efforts to identify the general characteristics of the subjects are needed.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the relationship among family stress, family meaning and family adaptation of families with high risk neonates. Method: The date was collected on the basis of self- report questionnaires (August 2004 to March 2005); Tow-hundred twelve parents, who had high risk neonates in C hospital's neonatal intensive care unit, participated on request. Results: Family sense of coherence, family meaning, social support, family stress, marital communication and patient condition had a significant, direct effect on family adaptation. Family cohesion, religion, confidence in the health professional, and length of stay had a significant, direct effect on family meaning. Conclusion: The results of this study suggest the consequences associated with high risk neonates may be alleviated by a family support intervention designed to improve parental communication skills as well as to maintain family cohesiveness. Medical care could also encourage more emotional support of parents towards their neonate.
this study aims to analyze causality on the effect of job satisfaction on vocational adaptation of ex-prisoners through empirical study and to verify the moderated effect of self-esteem and the Moderated Mediation effect of the job stress. According to the analysis, job satisfaction have a static effect on Vocational Adjustment and the self-esteem have a mediated effect in this process. also, the indirect effects of job satisfaction on vocational adaptation by self-esteem are moderated by job stress. advanced researchs study that job-related emotions affect vocational adaptation and maintenance, but psychological factors affecting vocational adaptation is not dealt with in depth, and what factors actually moderate this process is not explored in detail. also, becausea there are few studies related to the job of ex-prisoner, this study carried out full-fledged exploration and verification of it.
This study was focused on investigating the factors of the psychological adaptation of grandmothers raising their grandchildren. The Double ABCX family stress model provided the theoretical basis for this study, and the major factors examined in the study included a pile-up of stressors, family resources and social support, appraisal of situation(redefinition of nurturing), and adaptation(depressive mood and happiness). Data were collected by personal interview with 213 grandmothers raising their grandchildren utilizing the questionnaire survey method. Structural equation modeling analyses were performed and the results showed that a pile-up of stressors, the family resources(i.e., contact and emotional solidarity with grandchildren's parents), and the redefinition of nurturing had significant influences on the psychological adaptation of grandmothers raising their grandchildren. It was also found that social support had indirect influence on grandmothers' psychological adaptation. The redefinition of nurturing had the greatest effect on the participants' psychological adaptation, followed by a pile-up stressor, and then the family resources.
The purpose of this study was to describe the relationship between family stress and adaptation in families with a disabled child through literature review using McCubbin's Double ABCX family crisis framework. The literature review focused on (1) family stress and factors affecting family stress, (2) the critical individual, familial and social resources which families acquire and employ over time in managing crisis situation. (3) the changes in definition and meaning families develop in an effort to make sense out of their predicament. (4) the coping strategies families employ. and (5) the range of outcomes of these family efforts The results showed that families reported financial difficulties and the burden of care-giving demands as major family stressors. Siblings of disabled children manifested depressive symptoms and social isolation. but was not consistent study results. The parents' views of the cause of the disabling condition fundamentally affected their behavior toward their disabled child. Especially. the fathers' views of the child's characteristics made the greatest contribution to positive changes in the mothers' perceptions. The term perceived social support refers to the cognitive appraisal by individuals that they are cared for and valued, that significant others are available to them if needed, and that they are satisfied with their interpersonal relationships. The perceived social support was more protective than social support source. network size and network density. Parental adaptation was found to be related to the child's communication competence rather than family coping strategies proposed by Lazarus and Folkman. One study results showed that there was no difference in depressive symptoms and physical health between mothers with a disabled child and those without all though mothers with a disabled child had negative attitudes and perceived themselves as having significantly less social support and lower family functioning. But a longitudinal study revealed decreases in the negative impact of the child and increases in sibling and overall family adaptation.
Purpose: The purpose of this study is to analyze the correlation between obesity stress, self-esteem, and adaptation to school life according to body mass index of elementary school students in higher grades and to provide basic data for the development of health education programs. Methods: A convenience sampling method was used to select four elementary schools. Self-reporting questionnaires were distributed to the subjects to collect data, which were then analyzed using the SPSS 18.0 program. Results: The higher the obesity index, the more obesity stress the students experienced. Second, the lower the level of obesity, the higher both self-esteem and the level of adjustment to school life were. There was a meaningful correlation between obesity stress, self-esteem, and adjustment to school life. Conclusion: The study results are expected to be useful in serving as a basic material for the development of programs that can improve students' adjustment to school life and self-esteem while reducing their stress caused by obesity.
