The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of aroma oil on EEG and academic stress. Twenty four male middle school students whose mean age 15 years participated in this experiment. They were assigned into one of two experimental conditions :(1) treatment group and control group. Lee Bo-young's Academic stress level test was used to measure the level of the stress. WEEG-8 Channel(Laxtha Inc) was used to measure the EEG. Four different areas(Fp1, Fp2, F3, F4) related to stress were tested based on the international 10-20 System. The task was to complete the stress test, to inhale the aroma in a comfortable chair for 3 minutes and to complete the stress test, again. The results of this study indicated that aroma inhalation reduced students' academic stress. In addition, alpha wave was increased by inhaling the aroma. The findings of the present study suggested that aromatherapy become a potential tool to reduce the level of stress.

The importance of predicting concrete compressive strength of in concrete structures is gradually increasing in construction industry. The estimation of concrete compressive strength of is a critical factor of the construction schedule and quality control. This study was performed to examine the relationship between concrete compressive strength and stress wave velocity which was determined by the impact echo method and SASW method.
In this paper, we studied the development of the electronic ballast for 250W MH (Metal-Halide) lamps. We were able to improve the input power factor by using a PFC IC. To provide the lamp with the rated voltage required, we used the buck-type dc-dc converter. The stress of the switching devices in the inverter could be reduced by this method. To eliminate the acoustic resonance phenomena of MH lamps, the voltage of the lamp added the high frequency sine-wave to the low frequency square-wave by using the full bridge typed inverter. We have developed a simple igniter using the L and C elements. We could control the dimness of the lamp by varying the output voltage of the buck converter. The buck converter output voltage could be controlled by using a microprocessor.

In this paepr, we present a soft switching PWM inverter as reducing switching loss and stress at high power application. The PWM inverter is designed by space voltage about 2$\sqrt{3}$ times (15%) than conventional SPWM method. To reduce switching loss and stress. The DC link requires a capacitor, an inductor and two additional switches. Therefore proposed inverter performs trun PWM operation under the soft switching condition. As a result of soft switching we can reduce switching loss and ensure stability of switching devices. For approach to real time, control system is realized by 8 bit single-chip microprocessor. Therefore, we can construct system is with simplified volumn and structure by eliminating carrier wave and referrence wave generator of conventional SPWM method.

With an aim at eliminating the numerical dispersion error arising from the numerical simulation of stress wave propagation, numerical dispersion characteristics of the wave equation based one-dimensional finite element model are analyzed and some dispersion control scheme are proposed in this paper The dispersion analyses are carried out for two types of mass matrix, namely the consistent and the lumped mass matrices. Based on the finding of the analyses, dispersion correction techniques are developed for both the implicit and explicit schemes. For the implicit scheme, either the weighting factor for the spatial derivatives of each time level or the lumping coefficient for mass matrix is adjusted to minimize the numerical dispersion. In the case of the explicit scheme an artificial dispersion term is introduced in the governing equation. The validity of the dispersion correction techniques proposed in this study is demonstrated by comparing the numerical solutions obtained using the Present techniques with the analytical ones.

The human brain constantly emits electrical impulses, which is called brain waves, and brain waves can be defined as the electrical activity of the brain generated by the flow of ions generated by the biochemical interaction of brain cells. There is a study that emotion is one of the factors that can cause stress. Brain waves are the most used in the study of emotions. This paper is a study on whether emotions affect stress, and showed two images of fear and joy to four experimenters and divided them into three stages before, during, and after watching. As a measurement tool, brain waves at the positions of Fp1 and Fp2 were measured using the NeuroBrain System, a system that can automate brain wave measurement, analysis, brain wave reinforcement, and suppression training with remote control. After obtaining the brain wave data for each emotion, the average value was calculated and the study was conducted. As for the frequency related to stress, the values of Alpha and SMR, Low Beta, and High Beta were analyzed. Brainwave analysis affects stress depending on the emotional state, and "fear" emotions cause anxiety by raising Beta levels, resulting in higher Mind Stress levels, while "joy" emotions lower Beta levels, resulting in a significant drop in Mind Stress.

In the preliminary investigation (Park et al., 2009), the use of compressional wave velocity and its measurement techniques were proposed as a new quality control measure for trackbed fills. The methodology follows exactly the same procedure as the density control, except the density being replaced by the compressional wave velocity involving consistently with resilient modulus of design stage. The specifications for the control also include field compaction water content of optimum moisture content ${\pm}2%$ as well as the compressional wave velocity. In this sequel paper, crosshole and resonant column tests were performed as well direct-arrival method and laboratory compressional wave measurements to verify the practical applicability of a methodology far the new quality control procedure based upon compressional wave velocity. The stress-modified crosshole results reasonably well agree with the direct-arrival values, and the resonant column test results also agree well with the field crosshole results. The compressional wave velocity turned out to be an excellent control measure for trackbed fills both in the theoretical and practical point of view.
Earthborne vibrations are induced by construction operation such as pile driving, roadbed compaction, and blasting and also by transit activities such as truck and trains. The earthborne vibration creates the stress waves traveling outward from the source and can structurally damage nearby buildings and structures in the forms of direct damage to structure and damage due to dynamic settlement. The wave propagation characteristics depends on impact or vibration energy, distance from the source, and soil characteristics. The aim of this paper is to provide a comprehensive review on the mechanistic of earthborne vibration and the current practice of vibration control and mitigation measures. The paper describes the state of knowledge in the areas of: (1) mechanics of earthborne vibration, (2) damage mechanism by earthborne vibration, (3) calculation, prediction of ground vibration, (4) the criteria of vibration limits, (5) vibration mitigation measures and their performance, and (6) the current practice of vibration control and mitigation measures.
Purpose: The purpose of the study was to identify the mediating effects of social support and self-efficacy between academic stress and college adjustment in physical therapy students. Design: Survey. Methods: 75 subjects were surveyed about the level of academic, Academic Stress, College Adjustment, Social Support, Self-Efficacy, and self-control. To confirm the cognitive function on brain activity were evaluated. Results: First, College students have higher academic stress and lower college adjustment. Higher social support and self-efficacy have lower academic stress and better college adjustment. Second, students with high academic stress need constant attention to increase their social support and programs to reduce academic stress. Third, students with high academic stress, low social support, and low self-efficacy can increase their cognitive strength through the brain wave thereby reducing the academic stress they are currently feeling. Conclusion: In order to improve the College Adjustment, it is considered that it is important to increase the cognitive function through brain train along with the development of a student management program that can reduce academic stress and increase social support and self-efficacy.

This paper presents a cross-eye characteristics of multi-path wave scattering. Cross-eye method uses the phase differences of multi signals and is used fur electronic protection. When a signal is propagated from transmitter to receiver on the ground surface, direct wave and reflected wave signals are combined in front of the receiving antenna with different phases. To calculate and control the amplitude and phase of reflected signal, we have developed a cross eye electronic protection method for radar system and studied the variation of electric power density.
