Effects of Simulation-based Learning on Stress, Problem Solving Ability, Self-Efficacy, and Resilience of College Nursing Students

  • Objectives: The objective of this study was to explore the effects of the simulation-based learning program on stress, problem-solving ability, self-efficacy, and resilience of final-year nursing students in a college in South Korea. Methods: The design of the study was a one-group pretest-posttest. The participants of this study were final-year nursing students in 2018. A total of 105 students completed it. The intervention was an 8-week simulation-based practice course. The primary and secondary outcome measures were baseline and follow-up questionnaires regarding demographic factors, stress, problem-solving ability, self-efficacy, and resilience. Results: Problem-solving ability (t=6.567, p<.001), self-efficacy in four situations (p<.001) and resilience (t=2.352, p=.021) increased after simulation-based learning than before learning. Stress also increased after simulation-based learning compared to before learning (t=5.960, p<.001). The level of stress, self-efficacy, and resilience were mainly related to participants' satisfaction with their clinical placement, and interpersonal relationships (p<.05). Conclusions: Simulation-based learning is expected to improve nursing students' problem-solving ability, self-efficacy, and resilience. This can lead to induce learning motivation of nursing students, improve their coping strategies for solving problems, and ultimately provide high-quality care.

COVID-19 상황을 경험한 간호대학생의 스트레스가 감성지능에 미치는 영향: 회복탄력성 매개효과를 중심으로 (The Effect of Stress on Emotional Intelligence of Nursing Students Experienced COVID-19 Situation: Focusing on the Mediating Effect of Resilience)

  • 본 연구는 COVID-19 상황을 경험한 간호대학생의 스트레스가 감성지능에 미치는 영향에서 회복탄력성의 매개효과를 검증하기 위하여 수행되었다. 자료수집은 J도에 소재한 대학에서 임상실습경험이 있는 간호대학생 179명을 대상으로 하였다. 수집된 자료는 SPSS 22.0 프로그램을 이용하여 Independent t-test, One way ANOVA와 Pearson's correlation coefficient, 다중회귀분석 및 SPSS Process Macro를 실시하였다. 연구 결과, 감성지능과 대학차원스트레스(r=-.33, p<.001), 임상차원스트레스(r=-.31, p<.001), 회복탄력성(r=62, p<.001)은 유의한 상관관계가 있었다. 대학차원 스트레스와 감성지능의 관계에서 회복탄력성은 부분매개효과를 보였고(Z=-3.07, p<.001), 임상차원 스트레스와 감성지능의 관계에서 회복탄력성은 완전매개효과를 보였다(Z=-3.07, p<.001). 따라서 COVID-19 상황을 경험한 간호대학생의 스트레스에 대하여 회복탄력성을 증가시켜 감성지능을 높일 수 있는 프로그램의 효과적인 전략개발이 필요하다.

노인의 스트레스가 우울에 미치는 영향 -자아탄력성의 매개효과와 사회활동의 조절효과를 중심으로- (The Effect of the Elderly's Stress on Depression -Focused on Mediating Effect of Resilience and Moderating Effect of Social Activity-)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of the elderly's stress on depression, and also to verify the mediating effect of the elderly's resilience and the moderating effect of their social activity between stress and depression. To achieve the purpose of this study, questionnaire survey was conducted. Research subjects of this study were 487 elderly people who were 60 years old and over in Gimhae area. Both the elderly participating in senior welfare center or community center and home care elderly people were included in survey. The study results are as follows: First, there were significant influence of the elderly's stress on depression. Second, the mediating effect of the elderly's resilience between stress and depression was verified. Both the direct effect of stress on depression and indirect effect of stress through resilience on depression were verified. Third, the moderating effect of the elderly's social activity between stress and depression was verified. It was found that the harmful effect of the elderly's stress on depression could be alleviated by participation in social activity. Through the study result, the elderly's resilience which is internal resource, is needed to be strengthened to alleviate depression derived from stress. Also, the elderly's active participation in social activity is needed to be encouraged to prevent the harmful effect of the elderly's stress on depression. Therefore, it is recommended that programs enhancing resilience of the elderly should be developed and the elderly should be supported to participate in social activity more actively.

119 구급대원의 라이프 케어를 위한 스트레스 대처와 직무스트레스 간의 관계에서 극복력의 매개효과 (Mediating effect of Resilience for Life care in the Relationship between Stress Coping and Job Stress of 119 Emergency Medical Technicians)

  • 이 연구는 119구급대원의 라이프 케어를 위하여 스트레스 대처와 직무스트레스 간의 관계에서 극복력의 매개효과를 확인하여 119구급대원의 직무스트레스를 감소시키는 방안을 모색하기 위한 기초자료를 제공하기 위하여 시도되었다. 이 연구의 자료수집기간은 2019년 10월 5일부터 10월 31일까지 약 4주간이었고, 연구대상자는 G 광역시 119안전센터에서 근무하는 119구급대원 205명이었다. 수집된 자료는 SPSS 21.0 ver. for Window 통계 프로그램을 사용하여 t-test, ANOVA, Scheffé test, Pearson's correlation coefficient, Hierarchical Multiple Regression Analysis, Sobel test를 실시하였다. 연구결과 유형별 스트레스 대처와 직무스트레스와의 관계에서 극복력의 매개효과 분석에서는 사회적지지, 긍정적 사고 대처유형과 직무스트레스와의 관계에서 극복력의 매개효과는 통계적으로 유의하지 않았다. 그러나 문제해결 대처유형과 직무스트레스와의 관계에서 극복력은 완전매개하였고, 회피 대처유형과 직무스트레스와의 관계에서는 부분매개하는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구의 결과를 통해 119구급대원의 라이프 케어를 위하여 직무스트레스를 감소시키기 위해서는 문제해결 대처유형은 극복력을 향상시킬 수 있는 교육 프로그램을 통해 직무스트레스를 감소시켜야 하며, 회피 대처유형은 직무스트레스를 감소시킬 수 있는 교육 프로그램과 극복력을 향상시킬 수 있는 교육 프로그램을 병행하여 실시하는 것이 가장 효과적이라는 결론을 얻었다.

외모만족도와 자아탄력성이 치위생(학)과 재학생의 취업스트레스에 미치는 영향 (Impact of appearance satisfaction and ego-resilience on employment stress among dental hygiene students)

  • Objectives : The purpose of this study was to investigate the influence of the appearance satisfaction and ego-resilience of dental hygiene students on their employment stress. Methods : A self-reported questionnaire was filled out by 403 female dental hygiene students in five colleges in Chungbuk-do, Gyeongnam-do, and Daejeon. Results : 1. The college students got a mean of $2.78{\pm}0.42$, $3.27{\pm}0.41$ and $2.28{\pm}0.52$ in appearance satisfaction, ego-resilience and job-seeking stress, respectively. 2. Employment stress revealed higher score in poorer financial conditions(p<0.001) and less major satisfaction(p<0.001). 3. Employment stress had a negative correlation to a physical attraction and somatic condition which were the sub-factors of appearance satisfaction. Stress also had a negative correlation to personal relationship and emotional control which were the sub-factors of ego-resilience. 4. Household economy(p=0.023) was identified as a variable that affected job-seeking stress, physical attraction(p=0.048) and somatic condition(p=0.039). Personal relationship(p=0.040) and emotional control(p=0.034) were the influential variables and had 33.2% of explanation power for employment stress. Conclusions : Appearance satisfaction and ego-resilience were the factors affecting job-seeking stress. Therefore counseling and educational programs should be provided for dental hygiene students to look at their own appearance and bodies in a more positive way, to foster their ego-resilience, to relieve and properly cope with employment stress and ultimately to promote their mental health.

코로나바이러스감염증-19 사태에 따른 전공의 및 수련의의 스트레스 인지도가 불안 및 우울에 미치는 영향과 회복탄력성의 매개효과 (The Effect of Stress on Anxiety and Depressed Mood and the Mediating Effect of Resilience in Medical Residents and Interns During Coronavirus Disease-19 Event)

  • 연구목적 본 연구는 코로나바이러스감염증-19 대유행 중 전공의 및 수련의의 스트레스와 불안 및 우울 간 상관관계를 파악하고 회복탄력성의 매개효과를 평가하고자 한다. 방 법 코로나바이러스감염증-19 대유행 기간 중 일개 대학병원에서 근무한 전공의 및 수련의를 대상으로 자가보고식 설문 조사를 통해 스트레스 인지도, 불안 및 우울, 회복탄력성 정도를 평가하였다. 이후 각 변인 간 상관관계를 평가하고 회복탄력성의 매개효과 검증절차를 시행하였다. 결 과 총 74명의 참여자에게서 스트레스 평균 18.79점, 불안 총점 평균 6.24점, 우울 총점 평균 7.81점으로 나타났고, 불안과 우울의 고위험군은 각각 28명(37.8%), 41명(55.4%)로 나타났다. 스트레스 총점이 높을수록 불안과 우울의 총점이 높게 나타났으며, 회복탄력성 총점이 높을수록 스트레스 총점, 불안 및 우울 총점 모두 낮게 나타났다. 회복탄력성의 매개효과는 스트레스와 우울 총점 간 상관관계에서만 통계적으로 유의했다. 결 론 코로나 바이러스 감염증-19 유행 기간 중 전공의 및 수련의에게서 높은 수준의 스트레스를 보였고, 이들 중 상당수가 불안 및 우울장애의 고위험군으로 확인되었다. 스트레스는 우울 및 불안을 증가시키며 이중 우울은 회복탄력성에 의해 완화될 수 있음을 보였다.

중년여성의 우울, 생활스트레스 및 회복탄력성이 삶의 질에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Depression, Life Stress and Resilience on Quality of Life in Middle Aged Women)

  • Purpose: This study investigated the effect of depression, life stress and resilience on quality of life among middle-aged women. Methods: A descriptive correlation study design was used with a convenience sample consisting of 201 middle-aged women recruited from an urban area. SPSS 21.0 was used for a descriptive analysis, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlations and multiple-regression analysis. Results: Quality of life had a significant positive correlation with resilience(r=.53, p<.001) and negative correlation with life stress(r=-.27, p<.001). The significant factors for quality of life were resilience (B=.425, p<.001) marital-status (B=.227, p=.001) and health status (B=-216, p=.001). These factors explained 36.8% of the variance in quality of life. Conclusions: In conclusion, to promote quality of life middle-aged women, there is a need to develop an intervention program to improve resilience.

장기요양기관 노인의 일상스트레스, 자아탄력성이 삶의 질에 미치는 영향 (The Impacts of Daily Stress, Ego Resilience, and Quality of Life of the Elderly in Long-term Care Institutions)

  • 이 연구는 장기요양기관 노인의 일상스트레스, 자아탄력성, 삶의 질 변인 간 인과관계 모델을 설정하고 경로분석을 실시하였다. 수도권에 소재한 민간 노인장기요양기관의 이용자를 대상으로 최종 380명을 SPSS 22.0과 AMOS 22.0을 이용하여 일상스트레스, 자아탄력성, 삶의 질 변인 간 관계를 분석하였다. 연구결과, 첫째, 노인의 일상스트레스는 삶의 질에 부(-)적인 직접 효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 노인의 자아탄력성은 삶의 질에 정(+)적인 직접 효과가 있었다. 셋째, 노인의 일상스트레스는 자아탄력성에 정(+)적인 직접 효과가 나타났다. 넷째, 노인의 자아탄력성을 매개로 일상스트레스는 삶의 질에 간접 효과 및 부분 매개 효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서, 노인의 삶의 질을 향상하기 위해서는 일상스트레스를 감소하고 자아탄력성을 높이기 위한 프로그램 개발 및 제도적 지원 방안이 필요하다.

간호사의 직무 스트레스, 공감만족, 회복탄력성이 우울에 미치는 영향 (Influence of Job Stress, Compassion Satisfaction and Resilience on Depression of Nurses)

  • Purpose: This study aimed to identify the influence of job stress, compassion satisfaction, and resilience on depression of nurses. Methods: One hundred seventy six nurses working at one tertiary hospital in one metropolitan city were included. The data collection was conducted from September 1st to October 1st, 2018, using a structured, self-reported questionnaire. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficients, and multiple regression. Results: The $M{\pm}SD$ age of 170 subjects was $29.62{\pm}5.59$. Depression had significant negative correlations with compassion satisfaction (r=-.50, p<.001) and resilience (r=-.56, p<.001), and a positive correlation with job stress (r=.42, p<.001). In the multiple regression analysis, marital status (${\beta}=-.15$, p=.015), job stress (${\beta}=-.00$, p<.001) and resilience (${\beta}=-5.47$, p<.001) had a significant effect on depression. The explanatory power of the subject's marital status, leisure life, job stress, compassion satisfaction, and resilience on depression was 44.1% (F=27.62, p<.001). Conclusion: The study results showed that single status, low job stress, high resilience may decrease depression of nurses. Reducing job stress and improving resilience of nurses will virtually contribute to reduce their depression that can influence on not only nurses' health status but also their performance and qualitative caring for patients.

간호사의 감성지능, 직무 스트레스와 사회적 지지가 회복탄력성에 미치는 영향 (Influence of Emotional Intelligence, Job Stress, and Social Support on Resilience among Hospital Nurses)

  • Purpose: The aim of this study was to identify the influence of emotional intelligence, job stress, and social support on resilience of hospital nurses. The study will provide the basic material necessary to improve nursing interventions for the development of nurses' resilience. Methods: The sample of this study comprised 193 nurses working at general hospitals in B City. Data were analyzed through the SPSS 25.0 program using ANOVA, t-test, Scheffé test, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and stepwise multiple regression. Results: The factors with the greatest influence on the level of nurses' resilience were emotional intelligence (β=.54, p<.001), social support (β=.23, p<.001), and job stress (β=-.11, p=.39). These factors had an explanatory power of 46.7% for resilience. Conclusion: To improve nurses' resilience, the application and development of intervention programs to increase their emotional intelligence is necessary. Moreover, organizational management and policy are needed to reduce nurses' job stress.
