  • In this paper, we propose some estimators of Kullback- Leibler Information functions using the data from three step stress accelerated life tests. This acceleration model is assumed to be a tampered random variable model. Some asymptotic properties of proposed estimators are proved. Simulations are performed for comparing the small sample properties of the proposed estimators under use condition of accelerated life test.

  • Unlike OLEDs, there is no lifetime testing procedure for TFTs. In this work, we have defined such a procedure and developed a method for the accelerated stress testing of TFT pixel circuits in a-Si AMOLED displays. The acceleration factors derived are based on high current and temperature stress, and can be used to significantly reduce the testing time required to guarantee a 20000-hour display backplane lifespan.

  • In this paper, we propose goodness of fit test statistics based on the estimated Kullback-Leibler information functions using the data from three step stress accelerated life test. This acceleration model is assumed to be a tampered random variable model. The power of the proposed test under various alternatives is compared with Kolmogorov-Smirnov statistic, Cramer-von Mises statistic and Anderson-Darling statistic.

  • In this paper we consider optimal designs of partially step-stress life testing which is deviced for k-component series systems with the considerably long life time. Test items are first run simultaneously at use condition for a specified time, and the surviving items are then run at accelerated condition until a predetermined censoring time. The optimal criterion for the change time to accelerated condition is to minimized either the generalized asymptotic variance of maximum likelihood estimators of the hazard rates at use condition and the acceleration factors or the asymptotic variance of the maximum likelihood estimators of the acceleration factors.

  • We consider optimal designs of partially accelerated life testing which is deviced for parallel systems with the considerably long life time. In partially step-stress life testing, test items are first run simultaneously at use condition for a specified time, and the surviving items are then run at accelerated condition until a predetermined censoring time. In partially constant-stress life testing, test items are run at either use or accelerated condition only until a specified censoring time. The optimal criterion for each test is to minimize either the generalized asymptotic variance of maximum likelihood(ML) estimators of the hazard rates at use condition and the acceleration factors or the asymptotic variance of the ML estimators of the acceleration factors.

  • RFID (Radio Frequency IDentification) system is recognition technology which can maintain various object's information. Reliability of RFID tags is the most important factor in RFID system. In this paper, we proposed ALT (Accelerated Life Test) method for UHF RFID tags. Temperature and humidity were adopted as stress factors and the accelerated life tests were conducted in three different conditions. We performed failure analysis for identifying failure mechanism and statistical analysis of test data. In the statistical analysis, we employed Inverse Power law for relationship between tag's life and stress. Through the statistical analysis, we proposed acceleration factor for several levels of temperature-humidity. The reliability qualification test plans were also designed for the tag's target reliability.

  • Most of studies on control of beams containing piezoelectric sensors and actuators have been based on linear quadratic regulator (LQR) with state feedback or output feedback law. The aim of this study is to develop velocity-acceleration feedback law in the optimal control of smart piezoelectric beams. A new controller which is an optimal control system with velocity-acceleration feedback is presented. In finite element modeling of the beam, the variation of mechanical displacement through the thickness is modeled by a sinus model that ensures inter-laminar continuity of shear stress at the layer interfaces as well as the boundary conditions on the upper and lower surfaces of the beam. In addition to mechanical degrees of freedom, one electric potential degree of freedom is considered for each piezoelectric element layer. The efficiency of this control strategy is evaluated by applying to an aluminum cantilever beam under different loading conditions. Numerical simulations show that this new control scheme is almost as efficient as an optimal control system with state feedback. However, inclusion of the acceleration in the control algorithm increases practical value of a system due to easier and more accurate measurement of accelerations.

  • A wheel and axle failure can cause a derailment with its attendant loss of life and property. The service conditions of railway vehicles have become severe in recent years due to a general increase in operating speeds. Damages of railway wheel are a spatting by wheel/rail contact and thermal crack by braking heat etc. One of the main source of damage is a residual stress. therefore it is important to evaluate exactly. A Residual stress of wheel is formed at the process of heat treatment when manufacturing. it is changed by contact stress developed by wheel/rail contact. Distributions of residual stress vary according to a magnitude of wheel load, a magnitude of friction when acceleration and deceleration. The objective of this paper is to estimate the influence of wheel motion on the residual stress distribution in the vicinity of the running surface.

  • In accelerated life tests, the failure time of an item is observed under a high stress level and based on the time, the failure rates of items we estimated at the normal stress level. In this paper, when the mean of the prior distribution of a parameter is known in Weibull lifetime model with censored failure time data, we study various estimating methods to obtain the empirical Bayes estimator of a parameter from the empirical Bayes approach under the normal stress level by considering the fact that the Bayes estimator is the function of prior parameters and of the acceleration parameter representing the effect of acceleration. And we compare the performance of several empirical Bayes estimators of a parameter in terms of the Bayes risk.

  • The Round-Robin Test (RRT) for ground response analysis was performed by Division of Geotechnical Earthquake Engineering of Korean Geotechnical Society. This research analyzed the influence of analysis methods on variation of ground response by using the results of this RRT. The analysis methods include equivalent linear analysis, non-linear analysis and effective stress analysis. A total of 5 teams among 12 teams applied two kinds of analysis methods. This research compared the results of these 5 teams and analyzed the variation of the results according to analysis methods. The compared results were shear stress-shear strain relation, transfer function, time history and the response spectrum of ground surface acceleration, peak ground acceleration, peak shear strain and maximum excess pore pressure ratio.
