  • The palladium(II) and platinum(II) complexes(where, $([M(L)_2X_2]$, M=Pd(II), Pt(II); L=isoxazole(isox), 3,5-dimethylisoxazole(3,5-diMeisox), 3-methyl, 5-phenylisoxazole(3-Me, 5-Ph-isox), and 4-amino-3,5-dimethylisoxazole (4-ADI); X=Cl, Br) with isoxazole and its derivatives were investigated on antitumor activity by MM2 and EHMO calculation. Because for all the complexes the ${\sigma}MO$ energy level $(E_{{\sigma}(M-X)})$ between $d_x^{2-}_y^2$ orbital of central metal and px orbital of halogen atom is less than ${\sigma}MO$ energy level $(E_{{\sigma}(M-N)})$ between $d_x^{2-}_y^2$ orbital of central metal and px orbital of N atom, without exception. And judging, from the lower $(E_{\'{o}(m-x)})$ value in trans, the bonding strength was found to be weaker in trans isomer than in cis. For the Pd(II) and Pt(II) complexes which have planar ligands, it was shown that for all the complexes dissociation of X-atom in the Pd(II) complexes is easier than that of X-atom in the Pt(II) complexes in both cis- and trans-complexes. Therefore it suggests that the easier dissociation of $X^-$ ion has some relations with antitumor activity, and a linear equation with correlation coefficient of 0.96 was found between ${\Delta}E_{{\sigma}(N-X)}(E_{{\sigma}(M-N)}-E_{{\sigma}(M-X)})$ and inhibitory activity coefficient, logIA.

  • As the use of smartphones and tablet PCs has exploded in recent years, there are many occasions where such devices are used for treating sensitive data such as financial transactions. Naturally, many types of attacks have evolved that target these devices. An attacker can capture a password by direct observation without using any skills in cracking. This is referred to as shoulder surfing and is one of the most effective methods. There has been only a crude definition of shoulder surfing. For example, the Common Evaluation Methodology(CEM) attack potential of Common Criteria (CC), an international standard, does not quantitatively express the strength of an authentication method against shoulder surfing. In this paper, we introduce a shoulder surfing risk calculation method supplements CC. Risk is calculated first by checking vulnerability conditions one by one and the method of the CC attack potential is applied for quantitative expression. We present a case study for security-enhanced QWERTY keyboard and numeric keypad input methods, and the commercially used mobile banking applications are analyzed for shoulder surfing risks.

  • Recently, design technology of has been required such as catamaran yacht with high-speed according to expand a marine leisure industry. The domestic technical development for design and production of yacht is not actively than Canada, USA, Japan etc. However, with further development of yacht design & technology, it is need to develop a key technology related to increase the value of catamaran yacht. In the present paper, new guideline is suggest for catamaran yacht as like kinds of marine leisure ship in order for fundamental structure design and structural analysis for twin-hulled ship yacht and techniques for structural analysis as sea leisure ship in this research. The class of society has not been proposed formally about regulation and methodology for estimation of strength of small hight-speed craft with satisfying two conditions as noted; length less than 50meters, ratio of length to breadth less than 12. In the present study, we were adopted DNV (Yachts, Design Principles, Design Loads, Hull Structural Design) Rule and KR (FRP rule application guide) for scantling of structural members. Furthermore, ABS rule is used for structural calculation about application of loading conditions for catamaran yacht. This study can be available feedback role to manufacture of 38ft diffusion style for catamaran yacht. It is expected that this study will be a good reference in order to design of catamaran yacht with high-speed.

  • In this paper, the laboratory test results with middle-sired ,soil box test in modeling the in-situ installing of horizontal drains are discussed the estimation of the optimum negative pressure. The test was carried out in the different vacuum pressure conditions together with the measurement for the settlement and volume change of drained water by the installed drains during the consolidation process. After the test, the water content was measured to both directions of lateral distance from the drain and depth of the soil, to find out the distribution of ground improvement and strength enhancement. From the analysis on the distribution of water content, the gradual application of vacuum pressure to higher level by pre-determined stages starting from low vacuum pressure is found to be effective and desirable. In the comparison of the degrees of consolidation with elapsed time, the calculated value by the prediction method based on the Barren's conventional theory showed a good agreement with the measured value. With this, It is positively considered that the applicability of the prediction method based on Barren's theory to the practical design of horizontal drains can be justified such as in the calculation of drain spacing and consolidation period.

  • Shear behavior dependent on the shape and roughness of rock joints can greatly influence the stability of the ground and rock structures. The efficient design of rock structures requires understanding of the shear behavior due to joints and accurate calculation of the shear strength. This work reports numerical shear tests using PFC2D on No. 1 (JCR-1), with smooth joints, and No. 7 (JRC-7) and No. 9 (JRC-9), with relatively rough joints, for the 10 shapes of standard joint profiles proposed by Barton and Choubey (1977). The aim was to investigate the shear behavior of rock joints with respect to their roughness. The results show the maximum shear stress to be about 3.2 to 5.0 times greater in the rougher JRC-7 and JRC-9 joints than in smoother JRC-1. The maximum shear displacement was approximately 4.1 to 5.8 times greater at the first normal stress than at the second. The rougher joints showed friction angles of the rock joints that were approximately 1.8 to 3.9 times greater than that in the smooth joint. Overall, increasing the rock joint roughness increased the maximum shear stress and friction angle.

  • Physical, mechanical, hydraulic, and geophysical tests were applied to validate methods of inspecting the effectiveness of grouting on an agricultural reservoir dam. Data obtained from series of in situ and laboratory tests considered four stages: before grouting; during grouting; immediately after grouting; and after aging the grouting for 28 days. The results of SPT and triaxial tests, including the unit weight, compressive strength, friction angle, cohesion, and N-value, indicated the extent of ground improvement with respect to grout injection. However, they sometimes contained errors caused by ground heterogeneity. Hydraulic conductivity obtained from in situ variable head permeability testing is most suitable for identifying the effectiveness of grouting because the impermeability of the ground increased immediately after grouting. Electric resistivity surveying is useful for finding a saturated zone and a seepage pathway, and multichannel analysis of surface waves (MASW) is suitable for analyzing the effectiveness of grouting, as elastic velocity increases distinctly after grouting injection. MASW also allows calculation from the P- and S- wave velocities of dynamic properties (e.g., dynamic elastic modulus and dynamic Poisson's ratio), which can be used in the seismic design of dam structures.

  • Recently, in the concrete industry, the development and commercialization of low-carbon products of ready-mixed concrete have emerged as part of the efforts to realize carbon neutrality. This study aims to investigate the current status of environmental product declaration(EPD) of ready-mixed concrete and to analyze the characteristics of carbon emissions by compressive strength, life cycle stage, and region. To this end, the related certification system requiring the calculation of carbon emissions in the concrete industry was analyzed. The target of analyzing the current status of carbon emissions was set as a product of ready-mixed concrete that acquired EPD certification based on the life cycle assessment method. In addition, the trend of carbon emissions according to each characteristic was reviewed by analyzing carbon emissions by the life cycle of ready-mixed concrete products, analyzing carbon emissions by standard, and analyzing carbon emissions by region. As a result, the carbon emissions in the pre-production stage were 99% compared to total carbon emissions., and as it increased from 18MPa to 40MPa, carbon emissions also increased. Even with the same specifications, the carbon emissions in the capital region were higher than in the southern region.

  • The slope of an open cut tunnel is located above the exit of the Leijia tunnel on the Changgan high-speed railway. During the excavation of the open cut tunnel foundation pit, the slope slipped twice, a large landslide of 92500 m3 formed. The landslide body and unstable slope body not only caused the foundation pit of the open cut tunnel to be buried and the anchor piles to be damaged but also directly threatened the operational safety of the later high-speed railway. Therefore, to study the stability change in the slope of the open cut tunnel under heavy rain and excavation conditions, a 3D numerical calculation model of the slope is carried out by Midas GTS software, the deformation mechanism is analyzed, anti-sliding measures are proposed, and the effectiveness of the anti-sliding measures is analyzed according to the field monitoring results. The results show that when rainfall occurs, rainwater collects in the open cut tunnel area, resulting in a transient saturation zone on the slope on the right side of the open cut tunnel, which reduces the shear strength of the slope soil; the excavation at the slope toe reduces the anti-sliding capacity of the slope toe. Under the combined action of excavation and rainfall, when the soil above the top of the anchor pile is excavated, two potential sliding surfaces are bounded by the top of the excavation area, and the shear outlet is located at the top of the anchor pile. After the excavation of the open cut tunnel, the potential sliding surface is mainly concentrated at the lower part of the downhill area, and the shear outlet moves down to the bottom of the open cut tunnel. Based on the deformation characteristics and the failure mechanism of the landslides, comprehensive control measures, including interim emergency mitigation measures and long-term mitigation measures, are proposed. The field monitoring results further verify the accuracy of the anti-sliding mechanism analysis and the effectiveness of anti-sliding measures.

  • Purpose: To quantify the relationship between perceived pain intensity and psychological variables in a sample of participants with temporomandibular disorder, with or without central sensitization (CS). Methods: A cross-sectional study with nonprobability convenience sampling was conducted from January 1, 2022, to June 30, 2023. Pain intensity (Numeric Pain Rating Scale), anxiety (State-Trait Anxiety Questionnaire, STAI), catastrophizing (Pain Catastrophizing Scale, PCS), perceived stress (Perceived Stress Scale, PSS), and sleep quality (Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index, PSQI) were assessed. Statistical analysis was performed using IBM SPSS Statistics for Windows, Version 20.0 (IBM Co.), which included descriptive and normality analyses and the calculation of strength of multiple correlational regression. Results: A total of 52 (n=34 female 65.4%; n=18 male 34.6%) subjects with diagnosis of temporomandibular disorders (TMD) were finally included. A total of 26 participants (n=26, 50.0%) were cases suffered from CS (TMD-CS mean=46.62±11.24) while the remaining participants (n=26, 50.0%) were the controls (TMD-nCS mean=26.77, standard deviation [SD]=8.42). The pain intensity was moderate in both groups TMDCS (mean=7.62, SD=0.83) and TMD-nCS (mean=7.05, SD=0.86), anxiety (TMD-CS STAI mean=53.27, SD=11.54; TMD-nCS STAI mean=49, SD=11.55), catastrophizing (TMD-CS PCS mean=46.27, SD=9.75; TMD-nCS PCS mean=26.69, SD=4.97), perceived stress (TMDCS PSS mean=30.35, SD=4.91; TMD-nCS PSS mean=26.12, SD=6.60) and sleep quality (TMD-CS PSQI mean=15.81, SD=3.65; TMD-nCS PSQI mean=12.77, SD=2.76) levels were measured in both groups. In TMD-CS and TMD-nCS, higher anxiety levels were moderately and significantly associated with greater pain intensity β=0.4467 (t=2.477, p=0.021) and β=0.5087 (t=2.672, p=0.014). Nevertheless, catastrophizing, perceived stress and sleep quality were not associated to pain intensity in neither of group. Conclusions: In both TMD-CS and TMD-nCS patients, elevated anxiety levels were moderately and significantly associated with increased pain intensity. However, heightened levels of pain catastrophizing, perceived stress, and poor sleep quality were not significantly associated with increased pain intensity in either of the two analyzed groups.
