자연 환기식 온실의 모델 기반 환기 제어를 위한 미기상 환경 예측 모형 (Predictive Model of Micro-Environment in a Naturally Ventilated Greenhouse for a Model-Based Control Approach)

  • Modern commercial greenhouse requires the use of advanced climate control system to improve crop production and to reduce energy consumption. As an alternative to classical sensor-based control method, this paper introduces a model-based control method that consists of two models: the predictive model and the evaluation model. As a first step, this paper presents straightforward models to predict the effect of natural ventilation in a greenhouse according to meteorological factors, such as outdoor air temperature, soil temperature, solar radiation and mean wind speed, and structural factor, opening rate of roof ventilators. A multiple regression analysis was conducted to develop the predictive models on the basis of data obtained by computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations. The output of the models are air temperature drops due to ventilation at 9 sub-volumes in the greenhouse and individual volumetric ventilation rate through 6 roof ventilators, and showed a good agreement with the CFD-computed results. The resulting predictive models have an advantage of ensuring quick and reasonable predictions and thereby can be used as a part of a real-time model-based control system for a naturally ventilated greenhouse to predict the implications of alternative control operation.

Establishment of Bovine Ovum Bank : I. Full Term Development of Vitrified Hanwoo (Korean Cattle) In Vitro Matured Oocytes by Minimum Volume Cooling (MVC) Method

  • This study was to test whether Hanwoo in vitro matured oocytes can be successfully cryopreserved by a new vitrification procedure using MVC method. For the vitrification, oocytes were pretreated in 10% ethylene glycol (EG10) for 5-10 min, exposed in EG30 for 30 sec, each oocytes were individually put on the inner wall of 0.25 $m\ell$ straw, and then straws were directly plunged into L$N_2$. Thawing was taken by 4-step procedures [1.0 Msucrose (MS), 0.5 MS, 0.25 MS, and 0.125 MS] at 37$^{\circ}C$. In vitro developmental capacity (survival, cleavage ($\geq$2-cell) and blastocyst rates) in vitrified group was no significant difference compared to that in other treatment groups (exposed; 100.0, 74.4, 32.3% and control; 100.0, 78.3, 36.3%): high mean percentage of oocytes (91.2%) was survived, 69.4% of them were cleaved and 27.9% of cleaved embryos were developed to blastocyst. Especially, after transfer of in vitro developed embryos in vitrified group, four of six recipient animals were found to pregnant and three of them were ongoing pregnant by manual palpation at 250 days after transfer. However, among them, two healthy female calves (23 and 25kg) were born. This result demonstrates that MVC method is very appropriate freezing method for the Hanwoo in vitro matured oocytes and that ovum bank can be maintained efficiently by MVC cryopreservation method.

염료감응태양전지의 광학특성분석을 통한 건축창호 적용가능성 평가 연구 (An Evaluation of Application Possibility of Window System in the Building based on Optical Characteristics Analysis of DSSC)

  • It can gain both the electric energy production and disperse of light at the same time if DSSC is applied in the building as window system. It means to help facade design and to be used in lighting, heating, cooling energy directly by applicating DSSC BIPV window that is possible to daylighting and materialization of color. For this, optical characteristics analysis that is basic step must take precedence. So, basic databases of DSSC are builded and optical performances according to the double and triple glazing are evaluated by analyzing spectral data of various colored DSSC. As a result, Green(4) has the highest visible transmittance that is 28.8%, and Blue(3) has the lowest that is 0.3%. And, in case of optical performance of Green(4) depending on the incidence angle, SHGC and Tsol are decreased sharply from more than $60^{\circ}C$. Finally, It is judged that Red(4), Green(1), (4), Blue(4) are suitable for application in office building because visible transmittance is high and solar heat gain coefficient is low relatively in spite of composing to double and triple glazing.

복토 주택의 복토 방법에 따른 열부하의 변화에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Variation of the Thermal Load for a House According to the Earth Sheltering Method)

  • We cannot imagine any more the environment and energy problems are separated from our lives. The various attempts to solve these problems are made all over the world. In this study it was performed to analyze a different heating and cooling load depending on the earth-sheltering method and kind of soils by using TRNSYS 16 as the first step to establish the design guidelines for earth-sheltered architecture, one of the eco-friendly and low energy consuming building types. After performing this simulation, we found the result like this. It is the most lowest load in case of all of walls and roof being earth-sheltered. But considering of the load reduction rate, the effect of earth-sheltering the exterior vertical wall is more efficient for load reduction than the one of earth-sheltering a roof. And we got a lower thermal load in case of a lower heat conductivity of soil. Afterwards we will conduct a further study for boundary condition at earth-sheltered surface and the simulation analysis about the sensitivity variables. The final goal of this study is preparing the design guidelines for earth-sheltered architecture. so we will contribute to building energy saving.

  • Aluminium titanate($Al_2TiO_5$) has extremely anisotropic thermal expansion properties in single crystals, and polycrystalline material spontaneously microcracks in the cooling step after sintering process. These fine intergranular cracks limit the strength of the material, but provide an effective mechanism for absorbing strain energy during thermal shock and preventing catastrophic crack propagation. Furthermore, since machinable BN-ceramics used as an insulating substrate in current micro-electronic industry are very expensive, the development of new low-cost machinable substrate ceramics are consistently required. Therefore, cheap $Al_2TiO_5$-machinable ceramics was studied for the replacement of BN ceramics. $Al_2O_3-Al_2TiO_5$ ceramic composite was fabricated via in-situ reaction sintering. $Al_2O_3$ and $TiO_2$ powders were mixed with various mol-ratio and sintered at 1400 to $1600^{\circ}C$ for 1 h. Density, hardness and strength of sintered ceramics were systematically measured. Phase analysis and microstructures were observed by XRD and SEM, respectively. Machinability of each specimens was tested by micro-hole machining. The results of research showed that the $Al_2TiO_5$-composites could be used for low-cost machinable ceramics.

TV 유리의 반복 성형공정에서 3차원 금형 열사이클 해석 (Three Dimensional Thermal Cycle Analysis of Mold in Repeated Forming Process of TV Glass)

  • Three dimensional thermal cycle analysis of the plunger is carried out in repeated forming process of the TV glass, which is continued work of two dimensional analysis where an efficient method has been proposed. The plunger undergoes temperature fluctuation during a cycle due to the repeated contact and separation from the glass, which attains a cyclic steady state having same temperature history at every cycle. Straightforward analysis of this problem brings about more than 90 cycles to get reasonable solution. An exponential function fitting method is proposed, which finds exponential function to best approximate temperature values of 3 consecutive cycles, and new cycle is restarted with the fitted value at infinite time. Number of cases are analyzed using the proposed method and compared to the result of straightforward repetition, from which one finds that the method always reaches nearly convergent solution within $9{\sim}12$ cycles, but turns around afterwards without further convergence. Two step use is found most efficient, in which the exponential fitting is carried out fer the first 12 cycles, followed by simple repetition, which shows fast convergence expending only 6 additional cycles to get the accuracy within 2 error. This reduces the computation cycle remarkably from 90 to 18, which is 80% reduction. From the parametric studies, one reveals that the overall thermal behavior of the plunger in terms of cooling parameters and time is similar to that of 2 dimensional analysis.

전자패키지용 EMC의 기계적 성질 및 패키지내의 열응력해석 (A Study on the Mechanical Properties of EMC and Thermal Stress Anlaysis in Electronic Packagings)

  • In this study, as a part of basic study for developing the simulation program for the assemssment of reliability of electronic EMC packaging which covers from EMC mixing step to thermal analysis, comparison between a measured and predicted values of material properties of EMC and finitde element analysis of thermal stress are performed. For the experimental testing specimens of fifty, sixty hive and eighty percent filler($13\mu m$, spherical silica) weight fraction are fabricated using tranfer molding. Coefficient of thermal expansion, elastic modulus and thermla conductivity are measured using these specimens and then these measured values are compared with the predicted values by various equations ( such as dilute suspension method. self consistent method, generalized self consistent method, Hashin-Shtrikman's bounds. Shapery's bounds, Nielsen's method and others). Measured values are distributed within the upper and lower bounds of equations. Measured elastic modulus and coefficient of thermal expansion approaches closely the perdicted values with self consisten mehtod and upper bound of Shaperys equation respectively. However small differences of thermal conductivity between the different filler volume fraction are obserbed. FEM analysis indicates that firstly stress is concentrated at the corner section of EMC and secondly EMC with eighty percent filler weight fraction shows less thermal stress when package is cooling down and relatively high thermal stress when package is heating up.

고장력 강재의 전기저항 용접부 열처리 특성 및 기술에 대한 연구 (A Study on the Characteristics of Heat Treated ERW Weld Seam and the Technology of Seam Annealing)

  • To fine seam annealer capacity of through thickness seam annealing in terms of through thickness microstructure change with increased toughness and elongation leaving heat trace on it, high strength steel pipes of ERW with different thickness were tested in different seam annealing temperature measured on the outer surface of pipes. Annealing temperature and microstructure of the weld seam were changed through applied seam annealing condition. Toughness and tensile test with hardness and microstructure analysis were done on the annealed weld seam to fine its characteristics as a primary step and annealing characteristics according to different seam annealing condition. Through a study of annealed ERW weld seam characteristics and seam annealing technology, amount of electric power should apply in decreased manner to arranged inductors of annealer in the order of 1st, 2nd, 3rd, so on for proper seam annealing. For example of 15.4mm thick and 610mm outside diameter pipe, applied power for proper seam annealing is 600 -650kw at 1st inductor, 450 - 500kw at 2nd inductor, 200-250 kw at 3rd inductor of annealer during 10 - 12M/minute moving speed of pipe. Also, the penetration depth of heat trace along the thickness direction of weld during seam annealing can be estimated through the equation 17mm/kv$\times$voltage(kv) with the microstructure and hardness analysis of thick weld seam as well as study of seam annealing and comparison of cooling condition to CCT diagram of low carbon high strength steel. From this result, the difference between the technological applicability of full annealing condition based on phase diagram and full penetration of heat trace based on CCT diagram along the thickness of weld seam is discussed.

Chip-in-Board 패키지의 열전달 해석 (Numerical Simulation of Heat Transfer in Chip-in-Board Package)

  • 반도체 수요의 폭발적인 증가와 기술의 진보로 단위면적당 소자수가 늘어나고 있다. 그에 따라 단위면적당 발열량이 더욱 높아져서 반도체의 수명과 신뢰성 보장을 위한 냉각문제의 해결이 점점 중요해지고 있다. 특히, 집적도를 높이기 위해 소자를 기판에 매립하는 chip-in-board (CIB) 패키지에서는 방열이 더욱 심각한 문제가 된다. 본 논문에서는 각기 다른 재질의 층으로 구성된 열 전달모형을 설정하고, 3 차원 열 전달 해석으로 적절한 경계 조건에 맞추어 계산하였다. 이를 토대로 발열량을 정량적으로 예측하여 실제모델에 적용 될 수 있는 설계자료로 이용하고자 한다.

AM50 마그네슘 합금의 다이캐스팅 공정에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Die-casting Process of AM50 Magnesium Alloy)

  • In recent years, Magnesium (Mg) and its alloys have become a center of special interest in the automobile industry. Due to their high specific mechanical properties, they offer a significant weight saving potential in modern vehicle constructions. Most Mg alloys show very good machinability and processability, and even the most complicated die-casting parts can be easily produced. The die casting process is a fast production method capable of a high degree of automation for which certain Mg alloys are ideally suited. In this study, step-dies and flowability tests for AM50 were performed by die-casting process according to various combination of casting pressure and plunger velocity. We were discussed to velocity effect of forming conditions followed by results of microstructure, FESEM-EDX, hardness and tensile strength. Experimental results represented that the conditions of complete filling measured die-casting pressure 400 bar, 1st plunger velocity 1.0 m/s and 2nd plunger velocity 6.0 m/s. The increasing of 2nd plunger velocity 4.0 to 7.0 m/s decreased average grain size of $\alpha$ phase and pore. It was due to rapid filling of molten metal, increasing of cooling rate and pressure followed by increased 2nd plunger velocity. The pressure should maintain until complete solidification to make castings of good quality, however, the cracks were appeared at pressure 800bar over.
