The final objectives of this study are to present the theoretical formula for reasonable structural analysis and practical codes on the repair/strengthening of damaged reinforced concrete structrues. For that purpose, in last year, preliminary experiments for flexure and shear of beam structure using carbon sheet and steel plate were performed, and in sequence, in this year, using aramid fiber sheet and steel plate more extensive experiment were performed. Repair for the performance of flexure and shear was focused on, and main variables were selected considering aplicablilty for practical field, such as, spacing of anchor bolt, lapping, jacking up, preloading level, and fiber difection as well as length of repairing plate and thickness. so new results from various angles are to be presented.
Strengthening existing structure using the exterior steel wire is utilized because of their high adaptability and strengthening efficiency. In the practical aspect, the fixing methods, which are generally adopted have caused problems. A new method is not easily designed because of the weak points, a limit of tension stress, and complex transmit processes. To make up for the weak points in the current fixing method, tensile end bracket similar to a supporting plate has been developed, but the tensile end bracket was relatively big because of increasing length welded between the end plate and the resisting plate.
Owing to Higher story tendency and ceiling hight restriction of recent times, even though the depth of Coupling Beam decreases the demand efficiency is coming to be high rather so it is the difficult to satisfy a demand efficiency with the actual existing RC/Steel condition. It has been researched a lot of methods as an alternative plan about these but designer cannot apply them for the reason ; the structure standard and theory background are not taking a triangular position. As accomplishing the test research about the beams-wall connections department of steel-plate composite coupling beams from the research in the study it examines closely the beams-wall connections conduct quality and tries to provide the fundamental data for reasonable and optimum connection department designs. It knows that connection fixation degree and composite conduct degree of member part together become the important variable showing an energy dissipation ability in Test result.
In order to study the fatigue performance of the flat steel plate-lightweight aggregate concrete hollow composite bridge slab subjected to fatigue load, both static test on two specimens and fatigue test on six specimens were conducted. The effects of the arrangement of the steel pipes, the amplitude of the fatigue load and the upper limit as well as lower limit of fatigue load on failure performance were investigated. Besides, for specimens in fatigue test, strains of the concrete, residual deflection, bending stiffness, residual bearing capacity and dynamic response were analyzed. Test results showed that the specimens failed in the fracture of the bottom flat steel plate regardless of the arrangement of the steel pipes. Moreover, the fatigue loading cycles of composite slab were mainly controlled by the amplitude of the fatigue load, but the influences of upper limit and lower limit of fatigue load on fatigue life was slight. The fatigue life of the composite bridge slabs can be determined by the fatigue strength of bottom flat steel plate, which can be calculated by the method of allowable stress amplitude in steel structure design code.
The purpose of this study is to investigate the seismic performance of exposed column-base plate strong-axis connections for small-sized steel buildings. Even though the seismic design for small-sized buildings became mandatory since Dec.2017, the arbitrary connection details in steel structure have been applied at the construction site, which is considered to be very insufficient to secure structural safety and stability considering the increased seismic risk. Therefore, a series of experimental test programs had been carried out to develop enhanced connection details in order to ensue the adequate seismic safety of small buildings. The hysteretic behavior of the exposed column-base plate connections commonly used in Korea seem to be very pure poor due to the "Rocking" phenomena between anchor plate and concrete by the residual plastic deformation of anchor bolts. A series of hysteretic tests were conducted to find the solution to overcome the "Rocking" phenomena of the exposed column-base plate connections, finally the stable seismic behavior was obtained by uisng at least 8 anchor bolts with good bonding strength to the protptype specimen.
Shear wall structures have been widely used in high-rise buildings during the past decades, mainly due to their good overall performance, large lateral stiffness, and high load-carrying capacity. However, traditional reinforced concrete wall structures are prone to brittle failure under seismic actions. In order to improve the seismic behavior of traditional shear walls, this paper presents three different metal energy-dissipation shear wall systems, including coupled shear wall with energy-dissipating steel link beams, frame with buckling-restrained steel plate shear wall structure, and coupled shear wall with buckling-restrained steel plate shear wall. Constructional details, experimental studies, and calculation analyses are also introduced in this paper.

Steel-concrete composite beam with profiled steel sheet has gained its popularity in the last two decades. Due to the ageing of these structures, retrofitting in terms of flexural strength is necessary to ensure that the aged structures can carry the increased traffic load throughout their design life. The steel ribs, which presented in the profiled steel deck, limit the use of shear connectors. This leads to a poor degree of composite action between the concrete slab and steel beam compared to the solid slab situation. As a result, the shear connectors that connects the slab and beam will be subjected to higher shear stress which may also require strengthening to increase the load carrying capacity of an existing composite structure. While most of the available studies focus on the strengthening of longitudinal shear and flexural strength separately, the present work investigates the effect of both flexural and longitudinal shear strengthening of steel-concrete composite beam with composite slab in terms of failure modes, ultimate load carrying capacity, ductility, end-slip, strain profile and interface differential strain. The flexural strengthening was conducted using carbon fibre reinforced polymer (CFRP) or steel plate on the soffit of the steel I-beam, while longitudinal shear capacity was enhanced using post-installed high strength bolts. Moreover, a combination of both the longitudinal shear and flexural strengthening techniques was also implemented (hybrid strengthening). It is concluded that hybrid strengthening improved the ultimate load carrying capacity and reduce slip and interface differential strain that lead to improved composite action. However, hybrid strengthening resulted in brittle failure mode that decreased ductility of the beam.
Strengthening a damaged structure by bonding steel plate on the surface of cracked structural members have been widely accepted for strengthening the structural components Recently, however, caron fiber sheets have been developed in order to achive more effective way of strengthening damaged structures due to their superior material properties to those of conventionally used steel plates in terms of their lighter unit weight and higher tensile strength. It has been reported that when both methods are applied to a damaged beam element, flexural strength and its stiffness of a beam increase and the rate of crack development as well as crack width and edflection under service loads are reduced, In this study some experiments are performed in order to comparetively observe the structural properties of the damaged beams which are either strengthened with different lengths of steel plates or with carbon sheets on the crack propagation, failure mechanisms, and load-deflection charateristics under the fatigue loadings.
The bolted end-plate beam-column connections have been widely used in steel structure and composite structure because of its excellent seismic performance. In this paper, the end-plate bolted connection is applied in the concrete structure, A new-type of fabricated beam-column connections with end-plates is presented, and steel plate hoop is used to replace stirrups in the node core area. To study the seismic behavior of the joint, seven specimens are tested by pseudo-static test. The experimental results show that the new type of assembly node has good ductility and energy dissipation capacity. Besides, under the restraint effect of the high-strength stirrup, the width of the web crack is effectively controlled. In addition, based on the analysis of the factors affecting the shear capacity of the node core area, the formula of shear capacity of the core area of the node is proposed, and the theoretical values of the formula are consistent with the experimental value.
An experimental study on the bond strength of wall-slab joint in SC(steel plate-concrete) structure was performed. Six-full scale specimens were tested. Specimens were constructed with key variables, such as, development length, location of the bar and quantity of the shear bar. The experimental results, show that as the development length and quantity of the shear bar increase, the bond strength increases. As the bars is located on the inside the stud bolt, the bond performance was highly increased compared to the bars located out of plane of the stud bolts.
