  • We shall derive Bayes estimators for he smaller and larger of two Pareto scale parameters with a common known shape parameter when the order of the scales is unknown and sample sizes are equal under squared error loss function. Also, we shall obtain biases and man squared errors for proposed Bayes estimators, and compare numerically performances for the proposed Bayes estimators.

BQUE, AOV and MINQUE procedure in Estimating Variance Components

  • Variance components model appears often in designing experiments including time series data analysis. This paper is investigating the properties of the various procedures in estimating variance components for the two-way random model without interaction under normality. In this age of computer-oriented computations, MINQUE is found to be quite practicla because of the robustness with respect to the design configurations and parameters. Also adjusted AOV type estimation procedure is found to yield superior results over the unadjusted one.

  • Because statistical concepts are important parts in school mathematics, mathematics teachers have trained by special education model. In this study, a desirable direction of curriculum on probability and statistics at pre-service for mathematics teacher is considered. We proposed four subjects as Exploration and Analysis of Data for Mathematics Teacher, Probability and Statistics I, II for Mathematics Teacher and Statistical Software for Mathematics, and suggested the constituents and something being kept in mind for each subject.

철강 제조업 근로자의 직무 스트레스 분석 및 대책 방안 (Analysis and Countermeasure of Occupational Stress for Steel Manufacturing Worker)

  • Occupational stresses of steel manufacturing workers have been investigated using an organized questionnaire composed of 40 items. Three hypothesizes were developed based on the literature review of related researches. Empirical data surveyed from ones working in steel manufacturing jobs were collected and the in-depth statistical analyses using Statistical Package for the Social Sciences(SPSS) software were performed. These statistical results indicate that the existence of occupational stress may cause to take place industrial accidents. Consequentially, the prevention of occupational stress helps to promote the will to work, following by increasing job satisfaction in working circumstance of steel manufacturing.

  • 통계 전문가 시스템(Statistical Expert System, SES) 또는 Knowledge-Based Statistical Consulation System은 "통계적 방법에 의한 연구 과정(계획,자료수집,분석,결과해석 등)에서 발생하는 문제를 효과적,효율적으로 해결하기 위해 통계 전문가 또는 통계 상담자의 경험과 지식을 내장하여 이를 처리할 수 있도록 설계된 전산 시스템"으로 정의할 수 있을 것이다.SES를 구축함으로써 기대되는 효과는 1.초보사용자의 통계기법 오용을 방지하고, 2.기존 통계 software가 지니지 못한 탐색 및 설명기능, 결과해석기능 등을 제공하며, 3.사용자(초보자 및 전문가)에게 교육 및 통계전략에 대한 실험 환경을 제공하고, 4.전문가로 하여금 일상적이고 기계적인 업무로부터 벗어나 좀 더 기본적인 문제 해결에 전념할 수 있도록 보조적인 역할을 수행하는 것 등이다.행하는 것 등이다.

  • 본 논문에서는 멀티미디어를 활용한 회귀분석 학습시스템 CybeRClass(Cyber Regression Class)를 소개하고자 한다. CybeRClass는 음성정보와 애니메이션 등을 활용하여 회귀분석에 대한 학습을 시켜주는 시스템이다. 이 시스템은 군집분석이나 판별분석 등의 다변량분석 학습이 가능하도록 설계되었다. 멀티미디어 기술을 위한 도구로는 Multimedia ToolBook을 사용하였으며, 통계계산과 통계그라픽을 위해서는 객체지향 통계 언어인 Xlisp-Stat을 사용하였다.

A computational note on maximum likelihood estimation in random effects panel probit model

  • Panel data sets have recently been developed in various areas, and many recent studies have analyzed panel, or longitudinal data sets. Often a dichotomous dependent variable occur in survival analysis, biomedical and epidemiological studies that is analyzed by a generalized linear mixed effects model (GLMM). The most common estimation method for the binary panel data may be the maximum likelihood (ML). Many statistical packages provide ML estimates; however, the estimates are computed from numerically approximated likelihood function. For instance, R packages, pglm (Croissant, 2017) approximate the likelihood function by the Gauss-Hermite quadratures, while Rchoice (Sarrias, Journal of Statistical Software, 74, 1-31, 2016) use a Monte Carlo integration method for the approximation. As a result, it can be observed that different packages give different results because of different numerical computation methods. In this note, we discuss the pros and cons of numerical methods compared with the exact computation method.

  • 소프트웨어 프로세스 개선의 효율을 높이기 위해 하나의 개선 모델을 사용하기 보다 둘 이상의 서로 보완 가능한 개선 모델의 통합 모델이 사용될 수 있으며, 그중에 하나가 CMMI(Capability Maturity Model Integralion)와 소프트웨어 식스 시그마의 통합 모델이다. 하지만 소프트웨어 식스 시그마 도구는 그 수가 많고 통계적 지식을 요구하므로 소규모 조직에서 모든 소프트웨어 식스 시그마 도구를 적용하는 것은 어려운 실정이다. 본 논문에서는 조직의 비즈니스 가치를 달성에 도움을 주는 소프트웨어 식스 시그마 도구를 선정하는 프로세스를 제시함으로 소규모 조직에서도 적은 비용과 빠른 성과로 인해 점증적인 소프트웨어 식스 시그마 도구의 도입을 통한 효율적인 CMMI의 구현이 가능케 된다.

Comparison of Dose Statistics of Intensity-Modulated Radiation Therapy Plan from Varian Eclipse Treatment Planning System with Novel Python-Based Indigenously Developed Software

  • Purpose: Planning for radiotherapy relies on implicit estimation of the probability of tumor control and the probability of complications in adjacent normal tissues for a given dose distribution. Methods: The aim of this pilot study was to reconstruct dose-volume histograms (DVHs) from text files generated by the Eclipse treatment planning system developed by Varian Medical Systems and to verify the integrity and accuracy of the dose statistics. Results: We further compared dose statistics for intensity-modulated radiotherapy of the head and neck between the Eclipse software and software developed in-house. The dose statistics data obtained from the Python software were consistent, with deviations from the Eclipse treatment planning system found to be within acceptable limits. Conclusions: The in-house software was able to provide indices of hotness and coldness for treatment planning and store statistical data generated by the software in Oracle databases. We believe the findings of this pilot study may lead to more accurate evaluations in planning for radiotherapy.

소프트웨어공학수준이 결함제거효율성에 미치는 영향 (The Influence of Software Engineering Levels on Defect Removal Efficiency)

  • The role of software process is getting more important to make good quality softwares. One of the measures to improve the software process is Defect Removal Efficiency(DRE). DRE gives a measure of the development team ability to remove defects prior to release. It is calculated as a ratio of defects resolved to total number of defects found. Software Engineering Levels are usually decided by CMMI Model. The model is designed to help organizations improve their software product and service development, acquisition, and maintenance processes. The score of software engineering levels can be calculated by CMMI model. The levels are composed of the three groups(absent, average, and advanced). This study is to find if there is any difference among the three categories in term of the result of software engineering levels on DRE. We propose One way ANOVA to analyze influence of software engineering levels on DRE. Bootstrap method is also used to estimate the sampling distribution of the original sample because the data are not sampled randomly. The method is a statistical method for estimating the sampling distribution of an estimator by sampling with replacement from the original sample. The data were collected in 106 software development projects by the survey. The result of this study tells that there is some difference of DRE among the groups. The higher the software engineering level of a specific company becomes, the better its DRE gets, which means that the companies trying to improve software process can increase their good management performance.
