Several statistical models for bivariate poisson data are suggested and used to analyze 2011 K-league data. Our interest is composed of two purposes: The first purpose is to exploit potential attacking and defensive abilities of each team. Particular, a bivariate poisson model with diagonal inflation is incorporated for the estimation of draws. A joint model is applied to estimate an association between poisson distribution and probability of draw. The second one is to investigate causes on scoring time of goals and a regression technique of recurrent event data is applied. Some related future works are suggested.

In a short history, RNA-seq data have established a revolutionary tool to directly decode various scenarios occurring on whole genome-wide expression profiles in regards with differential expression at gene, transcript, isoform, and exon specific quantification, genetic and genomic mutations, and etc. RNA-seq technique has been rapidly replacing arrays with seq-based platform experimental settings by revealing a couple of advantages such as identification of alternative splicing and allelic specific expression. The remarkable characteristics of high-throughput large-scale expression profile in RNA-seq are lied on expression levels of read counts, structure of correlated samples and genes, larger number of genes compared to sample size, different sampling rates, inevitable systematic RNA-seq biases, and etc. In this study, we will comprehensively review how robust Bayesian and non-parametric methods have a better performance than classical statistical approaches by explicitly incorporating such intrinsic RNA-seq specific features with flexible and more appropriate assumptions and distributions in practice.

There are many statistical evaluation methods, A more technical Perspective is needed in estimating the effect of the Manufacturing Process for improving the Productivity, Process network analysis is a technique which has the potentiality for a wire use to improve the manufacturing process which other techniques can't be used to analyze effectively. The concept of six sigma plan was developed and pursued by Motorola to improve the process control. The goals of six sigma plan are established on the foundation of customer satisfaction such as Quality, Cost Delivery and Service This paper presents how to improve the manufacturing process by statistical process control for the evaluation of six sigma level.
The information-theoretic approach to face recognition is based on the compact coding where face images are decomposed into a small set of basis images. Most popular method for the compact coding may be the principal component analysis (PCA) which eigenface methods are based on. PCA based methods exploit only second-order statistical structure of the data, so higher- order statistical dependencies among pixels are not considered. Independent component analysis (ICA) is a signal processing technique whose goal is to express a set of random variables as linear combinations of statistically independent component variables. ICA exploits high-order statistical structure of the data that contains important information. In this paper we employ the ICA for the efficient feature extraction from face images and show that ICA outperforms the PCA in the task of face recognition. Experimental results using a simple nearest classifier and multi layer perceptron (MLP) are presented to illustrate the performance of the proposed method.

In this paper, we propose wavelet-based procedures to identify the difference between images, including portraits and handwriting. The proposed methods are based on a novel combination of multiscale methods with a regularization technique. The multiscale method extracts the local characteristics of an image, and the distinct features are obtained through the regularized regression of the local characteristics. The regularized regression approach copes with the high-dimensional problem to build the relation between the local characteristics. Lytle and Yang (2006) introduced the detection method of forged handwriting via wavelets and summary statistics. We expand the scope of their method to the general image and significantly improve the results. We demonstrate the promising empirical evidence of the proposed method through various experiments.
The present paper is a contribution in characterising end milling process of AISI 52100 ball bearing steel through statistical analyses of variance (ANOVA). The latter has been performed to identify the effect of the cutting parameters on the machined surface roughness and the cutting tool life. Wear measurements have been carried on multilayer coated carbide inserts and the respective surface roughness has been recorded. Taguchi's technique has been adapted to conduct the design experiments in terms of orthogonal arrays according to the cutting parameters (cutting speed, feed rate and depth of cut), the type of coating (TiN, TiCN, TiAlN) and lubricating condition. Regression analyses have conducted to the development of simplified empirical models that can be effectively used to predict surface roughness and tool wear in the present milling process.
One of the major challenges in wireless body area networks (WBANs) is sensor fault detection. This paper reports a method for the precise identification of faulty sensors, which should help users identify true medical conditions and reduce the rate of false alarms, thereby improving the quality of services offered by WBANs. The proposed sensor fault detection (SFD) algorithm is based on Pearson correlation coefficients and simple statistical methods. The proposed method identifies strongly correlated parameters using Pearson correlation coefficients, and the proposed SFD algorithm detects faulty sensors. We validated the proposed SFD algorithm using two datasets from the Multiparameter Intelligent Monitoring in Intensive Care database and compared the results to those of existing methods. The time complexity of the proposed algorithm was also compared to that of existing methods. The proposed algorithm achieved high detection rates and low false alarm rates with accuracies of 97.23% and 93.99% for Dataset 1 and Dataset 2, respectively.
This study is fulfilled from September 1st to December 31st in 1999 and the object of investigation are all 289 students belong to 5 universities managing amateur Ssirum team in Kyungnam, Kyungpook. Pusan and Seoul(158 people) and 6 high schools(131 people). And these results were derived from percentage and cross analysis of Person Chi-square test ann interview and 47 questioned paper based on this purpose of study. 1. There were no significant differences between high school students and university students in the comprehension of physical therapy and injury occurrence by technique. 2. According to the relation between satisfaction of life as a player and injured part, the injury of soft tissue ranked high among satisfied and unsatisfied people. and the satisfaction or unsatisfaction of practicing place also derived same result. 3. $46.8\%$ of Ssirum players got the injury of soft tissue during practice. the articular injury and bone injury in regular sequence. But there were no relations between the time of injury and the sort of injury. 4. There were no statistical differences ortho sort of injury by technique.(p=0.399). 5. According to the part of injury by using techniques, the injury of soft tissue ranked high$(50.0\%)$, articular injury ranked high$(42.6\%)$ in the leg technique, bone injury ranked high in the leg technique, and nerve injury ranked high in hand technique. 6. The injury of soft tissue ranked high during the practice$(46.8\%)$, practice on the purpose of a match$(50.0\%)$ and match$(41.7\%)$ but there were no relations between the time of injury and son of injury. 7. The part of injury by technique ranked high in the soft tissue$(50.0\%)$, articular injury by leg technique$(42.6\%)$, bone injury in leg and waist technique and nerve injury in hand technique high. 8. The time of injury ranked high during the practice$(65.7\%)$, and $66.1\%$ of injury occurred in the afternoon. 9. During the practice, the cold weather ie related on the rate of injury because $67\%$ of injury occurred in winter, but there are no statistical significance. 10. There were no relations between the satisfaction of place far practice and time of injury. 11. The particular part of injury occurred very much during the match between defense and offense. 12. In the relation between the degree of understanding of physical therapy and the experience of physical therapy, the people who know physical therapy had much experiences of physical therapy(p=.000) And independent of the physical therapy experiences, the effectiveness of physical therapy therapy to players was $48.8\%$, no idea was 42.65 and no effectiveness was $8.7\%$(p=.000). 13. $59.6\%$ of the people admitting the physical therapy effectiveness answered they would follow the order of the doctor and $56.6\%$ of the people not admitting the physical therapy effectiveness answered no.
Background: Lateral epicondylitis (LE) is the most common chronic musculoskeletal pain condition of the upper extremities. LE is often related to forceful grip activities that require isometric contraction of the wrist extensors. A previous study evaluated the effect of the diamond taping technique on grip strength and pain; however, there has been no report on the change in the electromyography (EMG) findings of wrist extensors. Objects: The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of diamond taping technique, using a rigid tape, on the EMG activities of the extensor carpi radialis (ECR) during grip activities. Methods: Twenty-four healthy subjects (mean age = 21.50 ± 2.76 years) volunteered to participate in this study. The subjects were instructed to perform forceful grip activities with and without diamond-type taping on the origin area of the ECR. Grip strength tests were performed at 100%, 75%, 50%, and 25% for maximal isometric contraction force. EMG data were collected from the ECR. Repeated measure analysis of variance was used to analyze the effect of grip force and taping (with and without). Statistical significance levels were set at α = 0.05. Comparison of the results with and without taping at different grip force were analyzed using independent t-test. Statistical significance levels were set at α = 0.01. Results: Statistically significant association was observed between the taping application and forceful grip activity as revealed by the EMG data of the ECR (p < 0.05). EMG of the ECR significantly reduced for all muscle strength levels (p < 0.01) after taping. Conclusion: This study shows an impressive effect of the diamond taping technique, using rigid tape, on wrist extensors during grip activities. Decreasing muscle activity via this taping approach could be utilized to enhance pain-free grip force and reduce pain in patients with LE. Our study suggested that this taping technique could be considered as an effective management strategy of LE.
