  • A zone of sensitivity is developed to investigate the effect of nonnormality on the Bayes decision function for testing mean of a normal population when either parent or prior belongs to Edgeworthian family of moderately nonnormal probability density functions.

  • In this paper we study some important properties of the bivariate generalized hypergeometric probability (BGHP) distribution by establishing the existence of all the moments of the distribution and by deriving recurrence relations for raw moments. It is shown that certain mixtures of BGHP distributions are again BGHP distributions and a limiting case of the distribution is considered.

  • Zellner, Kmenta, Dreze (1966) and later Hedges (1969) showed that consistent estimates of the parameters of Cobb-Douglas or CES production functions can be obtained by the single equation estimation methods if the models incorporate the assumption that firms maximize the mathematical expectation of profits. This note demonstrates that the results of the above-cited works can be extended to a class of VES production function models.

  • For the stress-strengh function, hierarchical Bayes estimations considered under squared error loss and entropy loss. In particular, the desired marginal postrior densities ate obtained via Gibbs sampler, an iterative Monte Carlo method, and Normal approximation (by Delta method). A simulation is presented.

  • Let ${X(t) : t \geq 0}$ be a real-valued stochastics process with stationary independent increments. In this paper, under the condition of stochastic compactness, we obtain appropriate function $\alpha(t)$ and random function $\beta(t)$ such that for some positive finite constant C, lim sup${X(t) - \alpha(t)}/\beta(t) = C$ a.s. both as t tends to zero and infinity.

  • In this paper, firstly we introduce the concepts of deferred Cesàro summable and deferred statistically convergent function, and secondly we introduce the concepts of deferred almost summable and deferred almost statistically convergent functions. Furthermore, we investigate the relations between these concepts.

  • This paper deals with the estimations of kernel ridge regression when the responses are subject to randomly right censoring. The iterative reweighted least squares(IRWLS) procedure is employed to treat censored observations. The hyperparameters of model which affect the performance of the proposed procedure are selected by a generalized cross validation(GCV) function. Experimental results are then presented which indicate the performance of the proposed procedure.

  • In this paper we suggest an efficient method to estimate the distribution function using the Bezier curve, and compare it with existing methods by simulation studies. In addition, we suggest a robust version of cross-validation criterion to estimate the number of Bezier points, and showed that the proposed method is better than the existing methods based on simulation studies.

  • In statistical diagnostics a large number of influence measures have been proposed for identifying outliers and influential observations. However it seems to be few accounts of the influence diagnostics on test statistics. We study influence analysis on the likelihood ratio test statistic whether the two sets of variables are uncorrelated with one another or not. The influence of observations is measured using the case-deletion approach, the influence function. We compared the proposed influence measures through two illustrative examples.
