Statistical analyses used in clinical articles published on the Journal of Korean Neurosurgical Society were identified and appropriateness of statistical aspects in reporting results was assessed. Forty seven clinical articles were selected in this study, which were published from February, 2005 to February, 2006 on the journal. The frequency of statistical analysis was as follows : descriptive statistics only 24 [51.1%]. one type of statistical method 10 [21.3%], two or more methods 13 [27.6%]. An assessment of statistical aspects was performed in 24 clinical articles reporting inferential statistics. Ten articles [41.7%] did not adequately describe or reference all statistical methods used. There were six articles [25.0%] not reporting the confidence level used as the critical criteria of the statistical significance. In thirteen articles [54.2%] it seems more appropriate to implement multivariate analyses in addition to univariate analyses. We recommend that the journal readers should concentrate on improving their knowledge of basic statistics and statistical review for manuscripts submitted should be sought from professionals in the fields of biostatistics and epidemiology.

This study introduces acceptance sampling plans and procedures for the inspection of bulk materials. This paper also presents statistical aspects of sampling bulk materials such as general principles and sampling of particulate materials.

본 소고에서는 탐색적 데이터분석(EDA)의 방법들이 국내에서 비교적 쉽게 구할 수 있는 통계 팩키지 프로그램에 어떻게 수용되어 있는지를 비교검토할 것이다. 여기에서 고려된 통계 팩키지 프로그램은 IBM-PC의 XT/AT 기종에서 사용가능한 Minitab, NCSS, SAS, SPSS/PC+, Statgraphics, SYSTAT의 모두 6종이다.

본 논문에서는 통계상담에 관련된 자료들을 정리해 보았다. 통계상담의 가장 중요한 3가지 역할은 교육적 기능, 서비스 기능, 연구 기능이며 효과적인 통계상담을 위해서는 상담에서의 통계적인 면과 더불어 비통계적인 면이 강조된다. 결과적으로 대학에서 통계상담실을 운영할 때에는 행정직, 개정적으로 독립되어 있으면서 통계학과에 속하는 통계상담실의 형채가 가장 바람직하다.

통계교육 연구자들은 형식적 추리 방법을 지도하기에 앞서 비형식적 추리를 지도할 것을 강조하며 통계적 추리의 발달 과정에 주목하고 있다. 본 연구는 표본 비교하기 과제와 모집단의 그래프 추측하기 과제를 해결하는 과정에서 나타나는 중 고등학생들의 비형식적 통계적 추리의 수준과 각 수준별 특징을 분석하였다. 연구 결과, 표본 비교하기 과제에서는 개인적인 의견에 기초하여 타당하지 않은 추리를 하는 수준, 자료에 대한 국소적 관점을 가진 수준, 자료에 대한 전체적 관점으로 전환되는 수준, 분포의 다각적인 측면에 주목하는 수준, 통계적 개념들을 통합하여 추리하는 수준이 확인되었다. 모집단의 그래프 추측하기 과제에서는 개인적인 의견에 기초하여 타당하지 않은 추리를 하는 수준, 표본대표성에만 주목하고 표집변이성을 고려하지 않는 수준, 표본대표성과 표집변이성을 모두 고려하며 분포의 한 측면에 주목하여 부분적으로 타당한 추리를 하는 수준, 분포의 다각적 측면에 주목하는 수준, 통계적 개념들을 통합하여 추리하는 수준이 확인되었다.

In this paper, we have presented rough ideal statistical convergence of sequence on neutrosophic normed spaces as a significant convergence criterion. As neutrosophication can handle partially dependent components, partially independent components and even independent components involved in real-world problems. By examining some properties related to rough ideal convergence in these spaces we have established some equivalent conditions on the set of ideal statistical limit points for rough ideal statistically convergent sequences.

On this study, the survey was conducted for the married female immigrants at work living in the district of Pusan, Changwon and Gimhae in order to analyze the level of the key competencies based on the differences of their ages, their final educational background, the period of their staying in Korea, their Korean language competence, jobs and the employment status in their native countries. As the result of the analysis, firstly, depending on their Korean language competence and jobs, there were meaningful differences among the groups in the aspects of the nine key competencies including communication, numeracy, problem solving, self-management and development, resource use, human relationship, information, technology, and organization skills, with the statistical significance level of .05. Secondly, depending on their final educational background, there were meaningful differences among the groups in the other aspects of eight key competencies except problem solving, with the statistical significance level of .05. Thirdly, depending on the employment status in their native countries, there were meaningful differences among the groups in the aspects of the five competencies including communication, numeracy, problem solving, resource use and organizational skills with the statistical significance level of 0.05. Fourthly, depending on the period of staying in Korea, there is difference only in the aspect of communication. Fifthly, depending on their ages, there were no meaningful differences among the groups.

Purpose : Sasang Constitutional Medicine explains the pathology peculiar to constitution and suggests treatment for each constitution. In Sasang Constitutional Medicine hwnan beings are classified on four groups; Taeyangin, Taeumin, 5oyangin, Soeumin. These four constitution has their's own symptoms and treatments. In treatment, control of mind inclination, that is to say, moderation takes a very important role. But the study on heredity in Sasang Constitutional Medicine has not done not biological study but also statistical study. So we used several statistical methods and analyzed 163 samples. Methods : We implemented Fishers exact test for adjusting chi-squared test, kappa coefficient to estimate agreement of parent's and children's constitutions, and finally plotted bi-plot using correspondence analysis. Results : From Fisher's exact test result, we could know that parent's and children'S constitution's distribution had significant difference. In kappa coefficient, mother and daughter's estimated value produced highest result. In correspondence analysis we only plotted the case of mother and son for easy interpretation. Conclusion : In the study of heredity of SaSang constitution, we cannot know exactly the heredity of constitution in terms of biology or genetics. But this research can be helpful for further analysis, that is, a study of biological or genetical aspects. And we could conclude that in statistical aspects the heredity in SaSang constitution is meaningful.

The importance of statistics in everyday life and work place has led to calls for an increased attention to statistical literacy in the mathematics curriculum both internationally and domestically. While professional organizations and researchers propose perspectives towards and models of statistical literacy, conceptions and elements of statistical literacy vary. This study examines how mathematics textbook questions fulfill the requirements of statistical literacy by employing two models: Watson's model focusing on understanding of statistical language and Curcio's model on data interpretation aspects of statistical literacy. For this, a total of 872 problem questions presented in the statistics units of from ten textbooks for the middle school year 1 mathematics were analyzed.

In this paper, we firstly presented the definitions of arithmetic ${\mathcal{I}}$-statistically convergence, ${\mathcal{I}}$-lacunary arithmetic statistically convergence, strongly ${\mathcal{I}}$-lacunary arithmetic convergence, ${\mathcal{I}}$-Cesàro arithmetic summable and strongly ${\mathcal{I}}$-Cesàro arithmetic summable using weighted density via Orlicz function ${\tilde{\phi}}$. Then, we proved some theorems associated with these concepts, and we examined the relationship between them. Finally, we establish some sequential properties of ${\mathcal{I}}$-lacunary arithmetic statistical continuity.
