Numerical Implementation of Modified Coulomb-Mohr Yield Criterion for Anisotropic and Asymmetric Materials

  • Development and numerical implementation for an elastoplastic constitutive model for anisotropic and asymmetric materials are presented in this paper. The Coulomb-Mohr yield criterion was modified to consider both the anisotropic and asymmetric properties. The modified yield criterion is an isotropic function of the principal values of a symmetric matrix which is linearly transformed from the Cauchy stress space. In addition to the constitutive equation, the numerical treatment for the singularity in the vertex region of yield surface and stress integration algorithm based on elastoplasticity were presented. In order to assess the accuracy of numerical algorithm, isoerror maps were considered. Also, extension of a strip with a circular hole was simulated and results compared with those obtained using the (smooth) Mises yield criterion to validate stress output for a complex stress state.

  • This parer describes the tracking control simulation of 6-DOF shaking table with a bell crank structure, which converts the direction of reciprocating movements. For the Joint coordinate-based control which uses lengths of each actuator, the trajectory conversion process inverse kinematics is performed. Applying the Newton-Euler approach, the dynamic equation of the shaking table is derived. To cope with nonlinear problems, time-delay control(TDC) is considered, which has been noted for its exceptional robustness to parameter uncertainties and disturbance, in addition to steady-state accuracy and computational efficiency. If the nominal model is equal to the real system, joint coordinate-based control can be very efficient. However, manufacturing tolerances installation errors and link offsets contaminate the nominal values of the kinematic parameters used in the kinematic model of the shaking table. To compensate differences between the nominal model and the real system. the joint coordinate-based control using acceleration feedback in the Cartesian coordinate space is proposed.

혼합날개의 주기적 유동교란에 따른 다점지지 연료봉의 고유치변화 (Variation of Eigenvalues of the Multi-span Fuel Rod due to Periodic Flow Disturbance by the Flow Mixer)

  • Long and slender body, like a fuel rod, oscillating in axial flow can be unstabilized even by the small cross flow which can be activated by the flow mixer or turbulent generator. It is important to include these effects of flow disturbance in dynamic stability analysis of nuclear fuel rod. This work shows how eigen frequency of a multi-span fuel rod can be changed by the swirl flow, which is discretely generated by a flow mixer. By solving a state-space form of the eigenvalue equation for a multi-span fuel rod system, the critical velocity at which a fuel rod becomes unstable was calculated. Based on the simulation results, we evaluated how stability of a multi-spanned nuclear fuel rod with mixing vanes can be affected by the coolant flow in an operating reactor core.

A Stochastic Differential Equation Model for Software Reliability Assessment and Its Goodness-of-Fit

  • Many software reliability growth models (SRGM's) based on a nonhomogeneous Poisson process (NHPP) have been proposed by many researchers. Most of the SRGM's which have been proposed up to the present treat the event of software fault-detection in the testing and operational phases as a counting process. However, if the size of the software system is large, the number of software faults detected during the testing phase becomes large, and the change of the number of faults which are detected and removed through debugging activities becomes sufficiently small compared with the initial fault content at the beginning of the testing phase. Therefore, in such a situation, we can model the software fault-detection process as a stochastic process with a continuous state space. In this paper, we propose a new software reliability growth model describing the fault-detection process by applying a mathematical technique of stochastic differential equations of an Ito type. We also compare our model with the existing SRGM's in terms of goodness-of-fit for actual data sets.

Verification of neutronics and thermal-hydraulic coupled system with pin-by-pin calculation for PWR core

  • As an important part of the digital reactor, the pin-by-pin wise fine coupling calculation is a research hotspot in the field of nuclear engineering in recent years. It provides more precise and realistic simulation results for reactor design, operation and safety evaluation. CORCA-K a nodal code is redeveloped as a robust pin-by-pin wise neutronics and thermal-hydraulic coupled calculation code for pressurized water reactor (PWR) core. The nodal green's function method (NGFM) is used to solve the three-dimensional space-time neutron dynamics equation, and the single-phase single channel model and one-dimensional heat conduction model are used to solve the fluid field and fuel temperature field. The mesh scale of reactor core simulation is raised from the nodal-wise to the pin-wise. It is verified by two benchmarks: NEACRP 3D PWR and PWR MOX/UO2. The results show that: 1) the pin-by-pin wise coupling calculation system has good accuracy and can accurately simulate the key parameters in steady-state and transient coupling conditions, which is in good agreement with the reference results; 2) Compared with the nodal-wise coupling calculation, the pin-by-pin wise coupling calculation improves the fuel peak temperature, the range of power distribution is expanded, and the lower limit is reduced more.

산고래 온돌연도내의 유동분포에 관한 수치해석 (Numerical Analysis on the Flow Distribution in Ondol Flue Channel)

  • Two-dimensional jet flows into a couple of confined rectangular enclosures such as an Ondol flue channel and their flow distributions were analyzed by numerical graphics : rectangular space in one enclosure is vacated and the other has 8 rectangular small posts. Both enclosures have a protruded inlet nozzle and on outlet on its center line. Steady state incompressible laminar viscous flow was assumed. The primitive forms of Navier-Stokes equations and continuity equation in a cartesian coordinate system were solved numerically by the Marker and Cell method for Reynolds numbers of 5, 10, 20, 30 and 40. From the numerical graphics it was found that the flow regions in both enclosures were devided into tow parts ; one part was the jet flow localized in a narrow center region of the enclosure and the other part was the very slow recirculating flow occupying the rest of the flow region in the enclosures. However there were a little differences in the shapes of jet flow in both enclosures for Reynolds numbers of 5 and 10 and also in the shapes of recirculating flows in both enclosures for all Reynolds number. Also it was found that waving flow appeared right before the outlet at Reynolds number of 20 and more.

토목섬유를 이용한 보강토옹벽의 개발 (A Study on the Development of Reinforced Earth wall by Geotextile)

  • The model was developed by applying the principles of Bacot and Vidal to measure the behavior of deformation of the reinforced earth wall, and various tasts were performed by using the plastic fabric filter and the galvanized steel plate as a strip. The results obtained are as follows; 1. When the reinforced earth wall is deformed by the load, the strip is completely reinforced by the backfill materials and changed to the rigid block state, under the state of failure which permits sliding only, the next theoretical equation is formed. (H/L) . tan$\theta$ [cosO-sinOtanO] =2sinO[tan($\theta$ +0) +tanO] 2.The degree of the mutual reinforcement of the backfill material and the strip depend on the physical characteristics of the each material especially the angle of shearing resistance of the backfill material is desirable over 20$^{\circ}$ and, if it is over 400, its function could be a maximum. 3.The distribution of the maximum tensile strain of the reinforcement is changing with the height of reinforced earth wall, and when the height from bottom of the reinforced earth wall is 1.85 to 3. 35m, the maximum tensile strain appears at 2m from the skin element. The maximum tensile strain is increased by the depth of the reinforced earth wall from surface, and increased with the lapse of time after construction. 4.The failure surface of the reinforced earth wall by the concrete skin was about 60$^{\circ}$and the failure behavior of the reinforced earth wall in which the fabric filter was buried was slow, and so the pore pressure could be decreased. 5.It is possible to construct the fabric retained earth wall by the plastic fabric filter only. And the reinforcing effect between the steel plate and the plastic fabric filter is not largely different. however, in the aspect of the economic durability, the plastic fabric filter is more advantageous. 6.The reinforcing action mainly depends on the width and the length of the reinforcing materials, if possible, the full width is advantageous to enlarge the contact area with backfill. but considering the economic aspect, it is neccessary to develop the method controlling the space of the strip.

다중 패킷을 전송하는 네트워크 제어시스템의 안정성 분석 (Stability Analysis of a Networked Control System with Multiple Packet Transmission)

  • 본 논문에서는 다중 패킷을 전송하는 네트워크 제어시스템을 대상으로, 전체 시스템의 안정성 변화를 분석할 수 있는 새로운 방법을 제안하였다. 먼저, 메시지의 최대 시간 지연을 보장할 수 있는 스케쥴링 방식과 데이터 손실을 나타낼 수 있는 이산 스위치 상태방정식을 새롭게 제시하였으며, 이를 이용하여 네트워크 제어시스템과 등가인 비동기 시스템(asynchronous dynamical system)을 유도하였다. 이후, 제어기의 샘플링 주기, 시간 지연, 데이터 전송 성공률, 전송 패킷의 개수에 따라 변화하는 네트워크 제어시스템의 안정성을 판별할 수 있도록 새로운 정리들을 제안하였다. 마지막으로, Batch Reactor 시스템을 대상으로 제안한 정리들을 적용하여 시뮬레이션하고 그 결과를 분석함으로써 본 논문에서 제안한 안정성 분석 방법의 타당성을 입증하였다.

레버암 상태 추정을 이용한 IMU 의 자세 결정 알고리즘 (Enhanced Attitude Determination with IMU using Estimation of Lever Arms)

  • In this paper, an enhanced method for attitude determination is proposed for systems using an IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit). In attitude determination with IMU, it is generally assumed that the IMU can be located in the center of gravity on the vehicle. If the IMU is not located in the center of gravity, the accelerometers of the IMU are disturbed from additive accelerations such as centripetal acceleration and tangential acceleration. Additive accelerations are derived from the lever arm which is the distance between the center of gravity and the position of the IMU. The performance of estimation errors can be maintained in system with a non-zero lever arm, if the lever arm is estimated to remove the additive accelerations from the accelerometer's measurements. In this paper, an estimation using Kalman filter is proposed to include the lever arm in the state variables of the state space equation. For the Kalman filter, the process model and the measurement model for attitude determination are made up by using quaternion. In order to evaluate the proposed algorithm, both of the simulations and the experiments are performed for the simplified scenario of motion.

3차원 거동이 고려된 형상기억합금 작동기 부착 복합재 쉘의 변형해석 (Shape Recovery Analyses of SMA Actuator-Activated Composite Shells Considering 3-D SMA Material Behaviors)

  • 형상기억합금은 스마트 구조물에서 작동기로 널리 쓰인다. 형상기억합금은 초기변위를 부고 열을 가하게 되면 단위 부피당 큰 회복력과 변위를 발생한다. 형상기억합금의 이론 특성은 인공근육, 작동기, 소음 및 진동감쇠, 형상의 변형 제어 등에 응용될 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 형상기억합금의 3차원 비선형 구성방정식을 이용하여 재료의 거동특성을 해석하고, 형상기억합금이 부착된 스마트구조로 응용될 수 있는 공기 흡입 덕트, 항공기 및 잠수함 동체 등의 구조를 압력이 존재하는 원형 및 복원을 해석하였다. 수치해석결과, 형상기억합금 엑츄에이터가 내압 하에서 작동하자 단면은 변형전의 모습(낮은 응력상태)으로 회복되었다.
