  • This study is attempted to propose a quality evaluation method of the materials for nutrition education by applying readability test of printed materials for nutrition education. It is significantly important for the teaching class with nutrition education materials to consider students understanding level and education materials topics or choosing words in developed printed materials. This study performed an evaluation of the readability of text in teachers' guidebook, which is devised for elementary school students' education material about sugar, sodium and trans-fat and attempted to estimate the developing materials through analyzing difficulty level of the text. We utilized "The Teacher's Guidebook for Cooking Activity" that had been developed for elementary school by Ministry Education Science and Technology, as the readability evaluation standard. Compared with the average score of readability about "The Teacher's Guidebook for Cooking Activity", $72.94{\pm}6.85$, "Sugar Guidebook" was 70.94{\pm}7.46, "Sodium Guidebook" was $68.76{\pm}14.50$, and "Trans-fat Guidebook" was $58.87{\pm}10.79$. Considering the subjects careers or ages, "The Teacher's Guidebook for Cooking Activity" has little deviation by the subjects careers or ages and was "intermediate" or "easy" level; however, "Sugar Guidebook", "Sodium Guidebook", "Trans-fat Guidebook" was "intermediate" or "difficult" level (p < 0.05). Readability score was especially low when the contents of some particular subjects were too professionalized or scientific terms were frequently used, and thes results were definitely seen in the "Sodium Guidebook" and "Trans-fat Guidebook". With Cloze test score, the readability evaluation will be using as an evaluation tool for the nutrition education materials.

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the multicultural mathematics education factor shown in mathematics textbook. For this purpose, 2015 revised curriculum, mathematics textbook and teacher's guide book of first and second grade were analyzed using framework for multicultural mathematics education factor. The results of this study revealed that the general guideline of the national curriculum included 'culture identity', 'diversity of knowledge' and 'social problem solving' but the curriculum of mathematics excluded 'culture identity'. Nevertheless, mathematics textbook showed various multicultural mathematics education factor except 'social problem solving'. But there are several kinds of problem. Fist, application level of multicultural mathematics education factor was mostly low. Second, history of mathematics and culture aspects were Europocentric. Thirds, characters in mathematics text book were excessively standard. there weren't other ethnicity, the disabled, multicultural students. On the basis of these results, this paper includes several implications for the future multicultural mathematics education in elementary school.

  • By using the current road design method that is based on the regulation about structure and facilities standard of the road and the route plan guide of a national road and the alignment optimization road design method which is studied in the inside and outside of country, this study operate the route plan of the sample study and compare and analysis the route character, consequently the current design method has local optimization that is formed the plan by the stage and the section. Alignment optimization road design has the system optimal route search. But cost function has limite that caused by construction parameter that is not included in cost function. So we design a road route included cost function in main fields. As a result, we obtain a realistic and economically road route. The alignment optimization road design model has to be made up some problems, like the change of vertical gradient in the tunnel section, though this defects it has a lot of merits as a geometric design tool, especially in the feasibility study and the scheme design.

  • According to "A guide Book to Highway Design", most road elements are chosen based on a certain design speed in order to ensure obtaining safe and smooth traffic operating. However, road safety in practical way is corelative to not only all element of roads but also road shape, for example, between straight line and curves line and between curved lines. Also, it is relates to alignments such as horizontal alignment, vertical alignment, and cross section. That is, the practical road design should be examined in both sides of 3 dimension and consecutiveness as the practical road is a 3-dimensional successive object. The paper presents a concept for acceleration to evaluate consistency of road considering actual road shape on 3-dimension. Acceleration of vehicle is influential to road consistency based on running state of vehicle and state of drivers. Especially, the magnitude of acceleration is a quite influential element to drivers. Based on above, the acceleration on each point 3-D road can be calculated and then displacement can be done. Computation of acceleration means total calculation on each axis.

  • In order to develop technology for an equipment qualification (EQ) test, which is an important process in localizing solenoid-operated valves used in nuclear power plants, we analyzed related regulations, test procedures, conditions, equipment, and acceptance criteria. EQ regulations for the solenoid-operated valve are classified as law, guide, and standard, and are subdivided according to test specimens and contents. The EQ test is composed of functional, normal-, and accident- condition tests. The solenoid-operated valve is aged under normal and accident conditions, which are predicted in the design conditions of a nuclear power plant, and the performance of the valve is measured by a functional test. The test method and procedure analyzed in this paper might be very useful for manufacturers as well as EQ testers.

  • Most education materials on sexuality developed in the past 10 years have not been thoroughly evaluated. This study provides results from a content analysis of 5 education materials for primary, middle and high school student. The results of this study were as follows: The Analysis Framework was developed to measure content in the education materials. It was organized into six domains. They are "Human Development", "Relationship", "Personal Skills", "Sexual Behavior", "Sexual Health", "Society and Culture". Each was associated topics and age appropriate developmental guides. The standard for analysis was the developmental guide suggested by the analysis framework. Each education material was assessed for developemtal guidance and its appropriateness for primary, middle and high school students. The total number of "being" responses to each developmental guidance equaled the score the material earned. These scores then were judged as to how well each education materials was comprehensive. 3 of 5 education materials were addressed as less than half the developmental guidline. Certain education materials were less comprehensive than others. I want to know 'Sexuality' covered the fewest developmental guidliness (34.6%). Interstingly, certain domains received much more coverage across all education materials than others. Most education materials provided instruction concerning "Human Development" (62.6%), "Sexual Health" (61.0%). However, topics such as "Personal Skills" (16.2%), "Relationship" (44.1%), "Sexual Behavior" (46.8%), "Society and Culture" (48.6%) were rarely addressed. Three topic, "negotiation", "sexual fantasy", "sexual dysfunction", were never addressed by most of the materials. Because several of the education material contained gender and sexual orientation biases. Certain topics such as "sexual identity and orientation" and "Gender role" were not adequately addressed by most of the material. Unfortunately, the overall findings of this study revealed that most of the education materials were considered insufficient for students. Because this study focused on whether or not the education materials addressed the developmental guidlines, further research is recommended to evaluate and addressed each developmental guidline.

  • Standard uroflowmetry measures the urine weight using single load cell to evaluate the urinary flow rate. Impact noise should be introduced due to gravity when the urine stream falls down into the container upon the load cell. The present study placed three load cells on the three vertices of a regular triangle and the three signals were ensemble averaged to enhance the signal-to-noise ratio(SNR) regardless of how the urination was made. Simulated urination experiment was performed with three different urine collection methods. In all three methods, SNR of the averaged signal was much higher than each load cell signals. With no urine collection device, the present signal averaging technique resulted in SNR values higher by 10~15 dB than when dual funnels or upper funnel were used to guide the urine stream. Therefore, it was demonstrated that the three point measurement followed by with ensemble averaging could enable accurate uroflowmetric test without any specially made urine collection devices.

  • The water vapor sorption isotherms for a great variety of agricultural products were determined by using the standard salt solution technique at the temperatures of $25^{\circ},\;35^{\circ}\;and\;45^{\circ}C$. The B.E.T. monomolecular layer moisture contents were evaluated from experimental data on the sorption isotherms, and an analysis was made of the thermodynamic functions for water vapor sorption behaviors with respect to the storage stability of dehydrated foods. It may be concluded that the variation of entropy with moisture content of some agricultural products and seaweeds investigated would be a guide for the elucidation of the storage stability of dehydrated foods.

  • Field surveys for the digital map being constructed is being conducted using various work guide books based on the digital mapping internal rule. However, a modification of a rule used for paper map construction is being used for the digital mapping rule, which is causing many problems with the quality of the digital map. Therefore, to construct a high-quality digital map, general standards related to conducting field surveys need to be reviewed, and it's extremely important to construct an accurate digital map based on this. Accordingly, in this study, problems related to conducting field surveys for the construction of the digital map are analyzed in order to establish more suitable field survey standards for constructing an accurate digital map. To this end, work regulations related to construction of a digital map were analyzed, and attribute and field survey data were compared to those of a previously-constructed digital map for analysis. By reflecting opinions of field surveyors and related experts to the results of the analysis, more suitable field survey standards for constructing the digital map were presented.

  • This is the second year study of ''The Development of Model of National Criterion- Referenced Assessment Standards" that had started in 1997. In the study, national assessment standards for high school common science were developed based on national curriculum. In the whole process of developing the standards, high school teachers, university professors and administrators of the Ministry of Education have participated as the "developing group" or "consulting group". Through various activities such as conference, workshop, intensive work, examination by science education experts, the standards and instruments were developed and modified. The research contents can be itemized as follows: - modifying the achievement standards developed in the first year research based on the opinions of various experts(science teachers, professors of science education, philosophers) - developing assessment standards based on the specially designed system. The standards divide students' achievements into three levels(upper/middle/low) and state each level so that it can guide evaluation of achievement. - developing various types of test instruments to probe students' achievement levels for each assessment standard.
