확률적 피로한도모형하에서 계단형 피로시험의 설계 (Design of the Staircase Fatigue Tests for the Random Fatigue Limit Model)

  • The fatigue has been considered the most failure mode of metal, ceramic, and composite materials. In this paper, numerical experiments to asses the usefulness of two Dixon's methods(small and large samples) and 14 S-N methods on assumptions of lognormal fatigue limit distribution under RFL(Random Fatigue Limit) model are conducted for staircase(or up-and-down) test and compared by MSE(Mean Squared Error) and bias for estimates of mean log-fatigue limit. Also, guidelines for staircase test plans to choose initial stress level and step size are recommended from numerical experiments including sensitivity analyses. In addition, the parametric bootstrap method to construct a confidence interval for the mean of log-fatigue limit by the percentile method using a transition probability matrix of Markov chain is presented and illustrated with an example.

Evaluating Staircase Safety Using BIM-based Virtual Simulation: Focusing on the Elderly in the Republic of Korea

  • As the population is aging, accidents involving elderly people are also increasing (2014:11,667 persons; 2018: 11,797 persons). In the case of the elderly population, falling accidents are the primary direct or indirect causes of death; in particular, they face an elevated risk of staircase falls. This study proposes a method of evaluating the safety of staircases using Building Information Modeling (BIM)-based virtual simulation. By making a virtual user with the behavioral characteristics of the elderly respond to a staircase in a BIM model, its safety performance can be evaluated. The evaluation criteria were derived from regulations, elements, and characteristics relevant to the safety of staircases. To validate the proposed method, safety evaluation tests were simulated on actual staircases. The evaluation result of the test simulation shows the safety scores of 1.97 points for the elderly user and 2.95 points for the average male adult user against a required safety score of a minimum of 2 points. That is, safety is relative to users as the safety of the same staircase can be different depending upon the different behavioral characteristics of users. The study suggests that the risk of staircase-related fall accidents to the elderly can be reduced by improving staircase designs through the proposed method.

계단실 공사를 위한 PC Double Wall 공법 개발 (Development of PC Double Wall for Staircase Construction)

  • 본 연구에서는 중공 PC 벽체 (PC Double Wall)를 적용한 계단실 공법을 개발하였다. 중공 PC 벽체는 내부 중공으로 인하여 양중 무게를 줄이고 외부 벽체가 거푸집 역할을 하며, 벽체 내부 중공에 현장 콘크리트를 타설하여 기존 PC 벽체와 비교하여 부재간의 일체성 확보가 우수하다. PC Double Wall 제작 및 현장 콘크리트 타설, 구조적 안전성을 고려하여 PC 벽체 단면과 철근 배근 상세를 제안하였다. 제안 상세를 바탕으로 얇은 PC벽체와 중공부를 효과적으로 형성하기 위한 세움 타설 방식의 거푸집 시스템을 개발하였다. PC Double Wall을 이용하여 계단실 Mock-up test를 통하여 부재 간 일체성과 시공성을 검증하였으며, 부재 간 접합부의 변형 및 균열이 발생하지 않고 시공성이 우수한 것으로 나타났다.

Roles of $Na^+\;-Ca^{2+}$ Exchange in the Negative Force-Frequency Relationship

  • Frequency-force relationships (FFR) were studied in electrically field stimulated rat left atria (LA) by reducing the stimulation frequency from resting 3 Hz to test frequencies (0.1-1 Hz) for 5 minutes. The twitch amplitudes of LA elicited the typical negative staircases with 3-phased changes: the initial rapid increase, the second decrease and the following plateau at test frequencies. Verapamil $(3{\times}10^{-5}\;M)$ pretreatment elicited frequency-dependent suppression of the twitch amplitudes, exaggerating the negative staircase. Monensin pretreatment enhanced not the peak but the plateau amplitudes in a concentration-dependent manner. When the $Na^+-Ca^{2+}$ exchange was blocked by $Na^+\;and\;Ca^{2+}$ depletion in the Krebs Hensleit buffer (0 $Na^+-0\;Ca^{2+}$ KHB), the twitch amplitudes increased in a frequency-dependent manner, changing the negtive staircase into the positve one. Meanwhile, the 0 $Na^+-0\;Ca^{2+}$ KHB applicationinduced enhancement was strongly suppressed by caffeine (5 mM) pretreatment. Only dibucaine among the local anesthetics increased the basal tone during frequency reduciton. There were no differences in $^{45}Ca$ uptakes between 0.3 Hz and 3 Hz stimulation except at 1 min when it was significantly low at 0.3 Hz than 3 Hz, illustrating net $Ca^{2+}$ losses. Monensin pretreatment enhanced the rate of this $Ca^{2+}$ loss. Taken together, it is concluded that $Na^+-Ca^{2+}$ exchange extrudes more SR released $Ca^{2+}$ out of the cell in proportion to the frequency, resulting in the negative rate staircase in the rat LA.

Computer Generated Hologram을 이용한 포물명경 형상측정 (Parabolic mirror test using Computer Generated Hologram)

  • Diamond turning machine으로 알루미늄을 가공하여 f/1.5, 구경 50mm인 포물명경을 제작하였다. 이진위상(binary phase) 홀로그램으로 포물면경 현상측정을 위한 computer generated hologram(CGH)을 encoding하였으며 staircase encodling 방법으로 간섭무늬 곡선의 직선근사를 하였다. 간섭무늬 데이터를 포스트스크립트(PostScript) 파일로 변환한 후 CGH 원도를 레이저 프린터로 확대 출력하고 축소 촬영하여 CGH를 제작하였다. 측정부(viewing arm)에 CGH가 위치하는 Twyman-Green 간섭계를 구성하여 포물면경의 표면형상을 측정하였다. 측정결과를 직접표면형상측정법 및 간섭계를 이용한 자동시준법의 측정 결과와 비교하고 오치를 분석하였다.

  • 본 논문은 스테어케이스법을 사용하여 크랭크 스로 부품용 S34MnV강의 피로한도의 신뢰도를 평가하는 것이다. 크랭크 스로 부품의 소재는 S34MnV이며, 뜨임 및 풀림 열처리된 단조강이다. 본 연구에서는 설계피로강도의 신뢰도를 예측하기 위해 축 하중 일정진폭 피로시험을 수행하였다. 시험편은 평균응력 0 MPa의 동일한 응력부하를 적용하였고, 즉 응력비는 -1로 하였다. 피로시험 결과는 Dixon-Mood 접근법으로 평가하였다. 스테어케이스법에 의해 예측된 피로강도의 평균과 표준편차는 각각 296.3 MPa 및 10.6 MPa로 나타났다. 마지막으로 어떤 임의의 파손 확률에 대한 피로강도의 신뢰도를 예측하였다. 본 연구에서 제안한 예측법은 단조강의 설계 최적화를 위한 피로강도 값을 결정할 수 있다.

커넥팅 로드의 피로강도에 대한 신뢰성 해석 (Reliability Analysis in Fatigue Strength of Connecting Rod)

  • It is necessary to evaluate fatigue strength and reliability of the connecting rod which is core part in automotive engine to assure the high level of durability of automobile. For this purpose, the loading conditions in automotive engine is obtained by the dynamic analysis. Based on these results, the critical section was identified by the finite element analysis. The fatigue strength under constant amplitude was evaluated and the mean of the fatigue limit at R = -2.27 derived from the staircase method was 311.2MPa. And the failure probability( F$\sub$p/ ) derived from the strength-stress interference model is 0.0003% at the 99.99% confidence level and the mean factor of safety was 4.2.

천궁(Cnidii Rhizoma)의 메탄올 추출물이 GABA 및 Glycine 수용체에 미치는 영향 (EFFECT OF METHANOL EXTRACT OF CNIDII RHIZOMA ON THE FUNCTION OF RECEPTORS FOR GABA AND GLYCINE)

  • 천궁의 메탄올 수용액 추출물의 진정 작용을 밝히기 위하여 staircase test를 시행하였으며, 근육이완 효과를 검색하기 위하여 rotarod test를 시행하였다. 진정 작용의 기전 구명을 위하여 GABA 및 glycine 수용체에 작용하는 약물인 picrotoxin, yohimbine, isoniazid, strychnine 등의 약물을 이용하여 발작 유도에 걸리는 시간을 비교 관찰하였다. 또한 생체에서의 안전성을 검증하기 위하여 Irwin의 행동시험 및 신경세포에 대한 독성을 평가하기 위하여 MTT test를 실시하여 다음의 결과를 얻었다. 1. Staircase 실험에서 천궁 추출물을 10mg/kg 용량으로 경구 투여했을 때 climbing수는 대조군과 차이가 없었으나, rearing수에서는 대조군에 비하여 42%의 감소를 보였다. 2. 30mg/kg의 용량으로 경구 투여했을 때, climbing수는 대조군과 차이가 없었으나, rearing수에서는 51%의 감소를 유발하였다. 3. 근육이완 작용을 탐색하기 위한 rotarod 실험에서는 대조군과 차이를 나타내지 않았다. 4. 천궁 추출물의 투여는 picrotoxin, isoniazid, yohimbine에 의한 발작에서는 큰 변화를 유발하지 않았으나, strychnine에 의한 발작 유도시간은 41%의 증가를 유발하였다. 5. 일반 행동에서도 특이한 변화를 유발하지 않았으며, 신경세포에 적용했을 때 특이한 독성 반응을 나타내지 않았다. 천궁의 메탄을 수용액 추출물은 현저한 진정 작용을 유발하며, 그 작용 기전으로서 glycine의 작용을 증가시켜 chloride ion의 세포내 유입으로 인한 억제성 신경전도를 유도한다고 사료된다. 또한 근육이완 작용도 나타나지 않았으며, 특이한 생체독성도 유발되지 않은 것으로 보아, 향후 치과임상에서 진정요법의 한 수단으로서 사용될 수 있다는 가능성을 제시한다.

구취가 후각인지도 및 methyl mercaptan에 대한후각감지역치에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Bad Breath on Olfactory Identification Ability and on Olfactory Detection Threshold for CH3SH)

  • The purposes of the study were (1) to evaluate the olfactory identification ability in those who have bad breath, (2) to determine the olfactory detection threshold for methyl mercaptan in normal subjects and those who have bad breath, and (3) to evaluate the effect of oral hygiene care on the olfactory detection threshold for methyl mercaptan. Sixteen male subjects with bad breath (male odor group), 9 male subjects without bad breath (male non-odor group), and 10 female subjects without bad breath (female non-odor group) were included for the study. Olfactory identification ability was assessed by administrating the Cross-Cultural Smell Identification Test (CC-SIT), and the olfactory detection threshold for methyl mercaptan was measured by two-alternative forced-choice single-staircase detection threshold procedure in a double-blinded condition. The geometric mean of the last four staircase reversal points of a total of seven reversals is used as the threshold. For the male odor group, after 1 month of intensive oral hygiene care for reducing oral volatile sulfur compounds (VSC) concentration, the olfactory detection threshold for methyl mercaptan was measured again and compared to the initial value. The ANOVA was used to test the group difference of olfactory threshold and olfactory identification ability and the paired t-test was used to test the difference of olfactory threshold between before and after reduction of oral VSC in male odor group. The results were as follows : 1. There was no significant difference in olfactory identification ability among those who have bad breath and normal male or female subjects. 2. The olfactory detection threshold for methyl mercaptan was about 8.4 ppb in normal male and female. 3. There was a tendency that male subjects with bad breath showed a higher olfactory detection threshold for methyl mercaptan when compared to those of no bad breath. 4. The olfactory detection threshold for methyl mercaptan returned to a normal level after 1 month of intensive oral hygiene care for reducing oral VSC.

노인대상 12주간 균형능력 향상 운동이 계단 내리기 보행 시 주요 관절각 및 지면반력 변화에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of 12 Week Balance Ability Improvement Exercise to the Changes of Selected Joint Angles and Ground Reaction Forces during Down Staircase Walking)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of balance ability improvement exercise program which applied to the elderly people for increasing balance, stability and range of motion. Ten elderly people and ten university students were recruited as the subjects. Kinematic data were collected by seven real-time infrared cameras while subjects walk stair descent as a pre-test. Korean folk dance exercise program was applied to the elderly for 12 weeks. Same experiment on stair descent walk was performed as post-test. Results indicated that CM movement and selected joint angle patterns of elderly group after treatment changed to the similar patterns of young group. However, ankle joint angle and vertical GRF of elderly group after treatment also increased compared to those of the elderly group before treatment. This might be explained by the fact that elderly used a different walking strategy which maximize support base for increasing stability. Overall, these results indicated that the exercise treatment may affect to adapt and improve the gait pattern of stair descent of elderly people.
