  • In this study. we searched for the mechanical and electrical properties of laminated coated conductors with stabilizer tape. Stabilizer tape plays a role for mechanical and electrical stability and environmental protection. Cu material stabilizer was laminated to Ag capping layer on SmBCO conductor layer. This architecture allows the wire to meet operational requirements including the stressless at cryogenic temperature and winding tension as well as mechanical bending requirements including thermal and electrical stability under fault current conditions. First, we have experimentally studied mechanical bonding properties of the laminated Cu stabilizers on SmBCO coated conductors. We have laminated SmBCO coated conductors by continuous dipping soldering process, Second, we have investigated electrical properties of the SmBCO coated conductors with stabilizer lamination. We evaluated bonding properties, peeling strength and critical current for laminated SmBCO coated conductors with Cu stabilizers.

  • PURPOSE: The purpose of this study was to identify the effect of abdominal stabilization exercise with Stabilizer and Gymball. METHODS: The participants were divided randomly into 2 groups each of 20 participants in the gymball exercise group and 20 participants in the exercise group. The changes of respiratory muscle activity between the two groups were measured three times a week for 4 weeks. The activity of rectus abdominis and internal oblique was measured using surface EMG to measure respiratory muscle activity. The training was repeated five sets, and one set was repeated 6 times with one 10 second exercise and 5 second rest. RESULTS: The results of the study showed that there was a significant difference in the amount of respiratory accessory muscle activation, inspiratory pressure, respiratory minute volume at the experimental group with stabilizer and control group with gymball exercise. Between-group difference was statistically significant only for rectus abdominis muscle activation. CONCLUSION: Both the stabilizer and the gymball exercises were effective in improving the respiratory rate but there was no difference between the two groups. Also, when comparing activity of muscle in both group, both groups were effective in improving and more effective than improvement of muscular activity of stabilizer in muscle of stabilizer.

  • The stabilizer bar mounted on the vehicle underbody makes for a more comfortable ride by holding the vehicle itself when the vehicle is cornering. Stabilizer bars are available in two types: solid and tube. To lighten the weight of the vehicle, and owing to weight reduction requirements, tubular stabilizer bars are increasingly being used. Tubular stabilizer bars can be fabricated to be over 34% lighter than solid bars, but the lifetime of the product tends to decrease rapidly as the weight ratio increases. However, the durability can be improved by utilizing high-strength and high-hardness materials for the stabilizer bar or by improving the shot peening method.

  • Purpose: The abdominal drawing-in maneuver (ADIM) is an exercise that selectively strengthens deep abdominal muscles. It is reported to be effective in strengthening those muscles when using a pressure biofeedback unit. However, multiple factors of bridge exercise seem to bring exercise result of ADIM without stabilizer as they influence execution of ADIM. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to compare changes in the thickness of deep abdominal muscles through the ADIM exercise incorporating either a stabilizer or the bridge exercise. Methods: Thirty healthy adults who had voluntarily given their consent were selected as the subjects. A diagnostic sonograph was used to measure the thickness of the subjects' transverse abdominis, internal oblique, and external oblique muscles. First, the thickness of the subjects' deep abdominal muscle was measured while maintaining the ADIM using the stabilizer. After three minutes of rest, the thickness was measured again while the subjects maintained the ADIM with the bridge exercise. Results: In both exercises, the thickness of the transverse abdominis showed a statistically significant increase, with a more significant increase while executing the ADIM using the bridge exercise. In both exercises, the thickness of the internal oblique showed a statistically significant increase, with a more significant increase while executing the ADIM using the bridge exercise. The thickness of the external oblique showed a statistically significant increase only in the ADIM using the bridge exercise. Conclusion: Though strengthening is not as selective as the ADIM using a stabilizer, the ADIM using the bridge exercise has a more increased thickness of the transverse abdominis and the internal oblique than that of the internal oblique. Based on the outcome of this study, the ADIM using the bridge exercise without a stabilizer can selectively strengthen deep abdominal muscles even more.

  • In this study, the torsional rigidity and durability of the stabilizer models with the hollow axis of light and large sized cars were compared and investigated each other. Model 1 was applied with the moment more than three times as much as model 2, but the maximum deformation of model 1 was seen to be about 2.6 times larger than that of model 2. Commonly, models 1 and 2 are seen to get the most stress at the neck of stabilizer bar link. Also, the maximum stress of model 1 was about 2.9 times larger than that of model 2. Model 1 at large car showed more than 20 times more deformed energy than model 2 at small car. Overall, it could be examined that the deformation energy of the bracket part on the side where the moment fixing the stabilizer bar was applied was greater than that of the stabilizer. It is thought that the analysis results in this study can be helped at the design of its convergent research as a durable component of the stabilizer at a light or large sized car.

  • A ship cruising in the ocean oscillates continuously due to wave action. In order to reduce the ship's roll, we developed a fin stabilizer as an anti-rolling device for a 500-ton-class high-speed marine vessel. During the development phase, it was necessary to set up control gains for the motion and hydraulic systems and assess the effectiveness of the anti-rolling performance on the ground. For this reason, a Target Simulator, which simulated the ship's motion, was given operator inputs such as the engine telegraph and waterjet deflection angle, and generated roll using a one-degree-of-freedom motion base. Hardware-In-the-Loop Simulation (HILS) was performed using the Target Simulator in order to confirm the various logics of the developed fin stabilizer, select initial control gains, and estimate the anti-rolling performance. In conclusion, it was confirmed that HILS was very helpful to develop the fin stabilizer because it could reduce the number of sea trial tests that were needed and could find many malfunctions in the factory a priori.

  • We have performed dispersion polymerization of acrylamide in tert-butyl alcohol/water mixture-using hydroxypropyl cellulose and ammonium persulfate as the stabilizer and the initiator, respectively - to study the effects that the concentration of monomer, initiator, and stabilizer, the tert-butyl alcohol/water ratios as polymerization media, and the reaction temperature have on, among other things, the polymerization kinetics, particle sizes, and molecular weights. The polymerization rate increased upon increasing the concentration of the monomer, initiator, and stabilizer, the water content in the tert-butyl alcohol/water media, and the polymerization temperature. The average particle size of the lattices increased upon increasing the concentration of initiator, the polymerization temperature, and the water content in the tert-butyl alcohol/water media, but it decreased upon increasing the concentration of monomer and stabilizer. The viscosity-average molecular weight increased upon increasing the concentration of monomer and stabilizer and the water content in the tert-butyl alcohol/water media, but it decreased upon increasing both the concentration of initiator and the polymerization temperature.

  • A comparative analysis of the hindered amine light stabilizers (HALS) and UV abosrber (UVA) and their respective photostabilizing effect on wood plastic composites (WPCs) are reported in this study. The influence of accelerated weathering on the mechanical properties of the composites and the microscopic morphology of a degraded layer on the cross section and the surface were studied. UV absorbers were more efficient at preventing composite lightening than was UV stabilizer. The amount of whitening decreased with the increase of photostabilizers. With the addition of a UV absorber (Tinuvin360), the tensile modulus and strength of the composites increased slightly. However, the addition of a light stabilizer (Tinuvin770) and a UV absorber decreased the tensile modulus and strength of the composites. After 250 and 500 hr exposure, tensile modulus and strength of the un stabilized and stabilized composites decreased. The tensile strength of UV absorber (Chimassorb81)-stabilized composites was significantly greater than that of control and light stabilizer (Tinuvin770)- and UV absorber (Tinuvin360)-stabilized composites. UV absorber-stabilized samples showed less whitening and photodegradation than control and light stabilizer-stabilized samples.
