  • Nowadays, it seems like that the concept of the early loading protocol has been intruded between the concept of the immediate loading supported by advanced clinicians and the concept of the conventional loading supported by the prudent clinicians. In particular, the stability dip, which is found to occur usually at 4~6 weeks after dental implant placement because the decrease of the primary mechanical stability is not compensated by the increase of the secondary biologic stability, is frequently pointed out as one of the major causes of early loading failure. In this article, based on our recent clinical investigation about the crestal bone preservation effect of the early loaded NanoTite$^{TM}$ Tapered Certain Prevail$^{(R)}$ (Biomet 3i, USA), the concept of the early loading is revisited. In addition, various methods to overcome the stability dip are reviewed as the oral and maxillofacial surgeon's view point.

  • Regional evaluations of slope stability by the failure criterion and by environmental geological factors were conducted. The failure criterion is the general conditions for plane failure which consider the geometrical conditions between geological discontinuities and topographical slope planes. The factor focused in this condiction is dip and dip direction. Geostatics, named semivariogram was used for establishing structural domains in slope stability evaluation by the failure criterion. The influential range was calculated to 6 km in the case of dip direction of dominant joint set and 7 km in the case of dip of the same dominant joint set. Then applying this failure criterion to the study area produced a slope stability map using the established domains and slopes generated by TIN module of ARC/INFO GIS. This study considered another regional slope stability analysis. 5 failure-driven factors 9the unstable slope map, geology, engineering soil, groundwater, and lineament density) were selected and used as data coverages for regional slope stability evaluation by geoenvironmental factors. These factors were weighted and overlayed in GIS. From the graph of cumulatave area (%) and instability index, finding critical points classified the instability indices. The most unstable slopes are located in the southern area of Mt. Eorae, Dabul-ri, and the eastern area of Junkok-ri in the first area is plane failure. Also, the expected orientations of failure are 59/338 and 86/090 (dip/dip direction).

  • In this paper, we present optimization technique for the response time of DVR (Dynamic Voltage Restorer) and the possible compensation range of voltage dip by the DVR system. To protect 3-phase phase-controlled rectifier from voltage dip, DVR system needs to have optimum response time as an important design factor. Although the fast response time of DVR ensures wider range of voltage dip, DVR controller has so high cost and poor stability. This paper proposes DVR system with optimum response time required for certain intensity of voltage dips and good stability to support possible compensation range of voltage dip. Proposed technique showed optimum response time and good stability for overall system. We believe that proposed technique is reliable and useful in DVR design.

  • The purpose of this paper is to formulate and apply the stability analysis of toppling failure by considering the variation of discontinuity characteristics, slope geometry, and loading conditions. The stability condition on toppling failure of rock slope is mainly iuluenced by the dip angle $\alpha_B$ and H/t ratio. In order to check toppling failures in design, the stability charts composed of dip angle $\alpha_B$ versus H/t ratio have been constructed in the paper. In general, smaller dip angle $\alpha_B$ and smaller dip angle $\alpha_B$ and smaller H/T ratio give safer condition. The suggested curves change rapidly at the chitical point around the sone, H/t=4~6. The stable zone in stability charles becomes smaller due to step angle $\data$.

  • Construction and extension of road by industrialization are increasing. According to this, construction of large cutting slope is increasing. Therefore, many methods for slope stability by this are applied. Failure happens according to dip and dip direction of slope. It is actuality that is connoting unstable element. This slope include coaly shale. Stability of slope failure this study takes place by road extension running examination for stability property calculate. Use this and examined stability about stereographic projection and wedge failure. Apply suitable reinforcement countermeasure about unstable cutting slope and analyzed stability. Wish to consider effective and robust processing plan of great principle earth and sand side securing stability. Hereafter with these data, is going to utilize in reinforcement and failure prevention.

  • One of the main drawbacks of wood fibers based composite materials are their tendency to swell due to moisture uptake in wet and moist environments. The main contribution to the hygroexpansion usually comes from the hydrophilic wood fibers. Recent trend toward the high speed printing, copying, and precision converting precesses demands a high level of dimensional stability under various environmental conditions. The purpose of this study was to investigate the dimensional stability of softwood bleached kraft pulp handsheets depending on wet pressing conditions. By increasing the number of wet pressing, dimensional stability was decreased because of increased fiber-to-fiber bonding. Hygroexpansion of handsheets had a linear relationship with the relative bonded area and equilibrium moisture contents. Dip elongation was decreased when the number of wet pressing was increased because of increased fiber-to-fiber bonding to resist low load in water.

  • The conditions to which pulp fibers are exposed during paper production, converting, storage, use, and recycling can induce various changes in fiber morphology, surface characteristics, and suitability for paper production by recycled fibers. Most of those changes can be described by hornification. Paper has highly hygroscopic properties which affect dimensional change by relative humidity variation of surrounding condition. The purpose of this study was to investigate the dimensional stability, moisture contents and dip elongation of handsheets at different relative humidity conditions of recycled kraft pulp and BCTMP. By using recycled fibers, dimensional stability was increased because hygroscopic properties of fibers decreased with repeated recycling treatment. Dip elongation of recycled pulp was higher than that of virgin pulp because of its weak fiber-to-fiber bonding. By recycling pulp, the relative bonded area was decreased because fiber could not swell more than virgin pulp. Dimensional stability largely depended on the equilibrium moisture contents of paper, the fiber-to-fiber bonding strength, and the relative bonded area.

  • This study was for analysing the sedimentary rock slope stability and providing the reinforcement method that can heighten stability. The study area consists of Cretaceous basalt or basaltic tuff belonging to Hak-Bong Basalt Formation in Ha-Yang Group. Nature of geological structure confirmed in this area ars bedding, joint and fault. Majority of geological structure that affect most relationship rock slope stability is bedding. It is shown that dip direction is 120~160/15~25. In other structure, joint sets are shown that dip direction of set 1 is 310~330/65~85 and set 2 is 230~250/70~85. Joint set 3 shows above 85$^{\circ}$ high angle on NE trend although do not show clear. Stability analysis about rock slope used kinematic analysis, limit equilibrium method and FLAC by numerical analysis method. FLAC is continuum model that use Fintie Defferentce Method, but could use Interfaces Module and get discrete model's analysis effect such as UDEC.

  • This study investigated the relationship between the response time of DVR (Dynamic Voltage Restorer) and the possible compensation range for voltage dips by the DVR system which protects the 3-phase phase-controlled rectifier from said dips. As a result, the permissible range of voltage dip is presented in a 3-phase phase-controlled rectifier. When the DVR compensates for voltage dip, the range of voltage dip can be compensated according to the DVR's response time. Using the proposed method, DVR response time can be determined from the parameters of the 3-phase phase-controlled rectifier and the possible compensatory range of voltage dip, while at the same time it is possible to use a control system having an appropriate speed. Therefore, the use of excessively fast equipment can be avoided, improving the stability of the overall system. The reliability of the DVR concerning the 3-phase phase-controlled rectifier can be verified by simulation.
