  • If roads, bridges, buildings, etc. are built on the ground with soft clay or organic soil, there may be a lot of problems in geotechnical engineering such as settlement and stability due to the large settlement and lack of bearing capacity. In extreme cases, it may appear due to shear failure or collapse of the constructed structure, so a ground improvement method is indispensable to increase the strength of the ground and to suppress settlement. In this study, the settlement according to each groundwater level condition was analyzed using the measurement results for the groundwater level conditions, one of the important factors in predicting the settlement in dredged and reclaimed ground, and the groundwater level conditions applied to the settlement analysis were proposed by comparing it with settlement generated 5 years after construction. As a result of the analysis, it is judged that it is reasonable to apply the measured groundwater level during construction and the low water ordinary neap tide (L.W.O.N.T) during load application for the groundwater level in the settlement analysis. In addition, in the case of the dredged and reclaimed ground, it is estimated that the water pressure acting on the clay layer is nonlinear, as the result of the observations of the head of water at the observation points above and below the in-situ clay layer were different.

  • Recently, domestic universities have emphasized career path to start-up through entrepreneurial self-efficacy (ESE) and entrepreneurship. The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of ESE on entrepreneurship of university students. Also we examine the moderating effects of entrepreneurial education and career uncertainty between ESE and entrepreneurship. Research sample consisted of 236 university students in Cheonan city. The results of this research is as follows: First, ESE showed a positive effects on entrepreneurship. Second, the moderating effect of entrepreneurial education was significant on the relationship between ESE and entrepreneurship. In other words, university students with a higher entrepreneurial education showed higher entrepreneurship when ESE was lower. But students with a lower entrepreneurial education showed higher entrepreneurship when ESE was higher. Finally, the interaction effects of career uncertainty was confirmed in relationship between ESE and entrepreneurship. In other words, university students with a higher career uncertainty showed higher entrepreneurship when ESE was higher. But students with a lower career uncertainty showed higher entrepreneurship when ESE was lower. In order to improve the entrepreneurship of the pre-founders, it is necessary to strengthen the behavior control of university students by enhancing the ESE. Also, the improvement of entrepreneurship of pre-founders should strengthen the ESE of university students, and should complement systematic and effective entrepreneurship education. In particular, we should provide the stability for career decision by eliminating uncertainty about the career path of university students.

  • Despite the Public Records Management Act in effect for more than 10 years and the various achievements of 'Records management Innovation' made by the former government, records management in Korea still remains unsatisfactory in many fields. Especially one of the main concerns is about the records centers in the public offices failed to work efficiently. There remains lots of so-called ancient regime elements in the records center system, which causes the lack of stability. Divisions of general affairs in the public offices had played main role in records management for more than 50 years since the establishment of the government, and their role was limited to take over some records created and to manage the poor stack room. According to the Public Records Management Act revised in 2007, data center was renamed to records center and it was obliged to place records center under the office of planning management or the office of administration. But records centers have been nevertheless operated at a very formal level in most public offices. It is the real state of affairs that professional records management system interconnecting records office, records center and archives is not achieved. Why is it? This article is an answer to this question. This article attempt to find out on the inner causes such as structure of records center, records management profession, records management methodology, and above all historical background. In addition, it put stress on the necessity of definite separation between records office and records center and assurance of independent operation of records center for the normalization of the records management system. Improvement of methodology including records management process is also of great importance. And the standardization of records management business of the records center is suggested as one of the main tasks on the basis of the accumulation of 'best practices of records management' in the cooperation with the records management community.

  • Objective : This study investigated the effect of intensive weight shift training (IWST) on the ability to balance in a sitting posture of children with spastic cerebral palsy (SCP). Methods : One child with spastic diplegia participated in this study for a total of 8 weeks using the ABA experimental design. For the pre-intervention period (A1), general physical therapy (GPT) for children with SCP was performed. The intervention period (B1 and B2), GPT and IWST were conducted for children with SCP, and GPT was conducted again for the post-intervention period (A'1 and A'2). Trunk control capacity was measured using the Korean Trunk Control Measurement Scale (TCMS-K) and Biorescue (RM Ingenierie, France). Results : All TCMS-K variables increased from A1 to B2, and decreased from B2 to A'2. The total area with limit of stability (LOS) increased from A1 to B2, and decreased from B2 to A'2. The ratio of the left/right (Lt/Rt) and anterior/posterior (Ant/Post) LOS area was closer to 1, meaning symmetry, in B2 than in A1. The ratio of the Lt/Rt LOS area decreased further from 1 in A'2 than in B2. The ratio of the Ant/Post LOS area was closer to 1 in A'2 than in B2. Conclusion : IWST had a positive effect on the improvement of balance in the sitting posture of a child with SCP. The results suggest that IWST might help to improve the balance abilities of children with SCP for independent sitting, postural control, and activities of daily living.

  • The existing middle-long span railway bridge has been mainly applied to steel box girder bridges. However, the steel box girder bridges have disadvantages in securing the space under the bridge, and the main girder is made of a thin plate box shape, resulting in a ringing noise due to the vibration. Many complaints about noise have been raised. For this reason, there is a need for the development of long railway bridges that can replace steel box girder bridges. In this paper, the characteristics of the steel composite railway bridge currently developed were introduced and a time history analysis was conducted using MIDAS Civil reflecting the speed of KTX load for 40m and 50m bridges. In addition, from the analysis results, the dynamic behavior of target bridges were verified and it was examined whether they meet the dynamic performance criteria proposed in the railway design standards. As a result, all of the bridges under review satisfied the dynamic safety criteria, however, in case of 40m of span, the vertical acceleration value was very large. In order to solve this problem, authors proposed the improvement plan and corrected the cross section to confirm that the vertical acceleration decreased.

  • The Korean fertility rate has been declining rapidly since 2000 with the fertility rate among provinces following a uniform tendency. In particular, the province-specific fertility rate is an essential tool for local governments to prepare local policies for low fertility aging policy, education and welfare policies. However, there is limitation on how to reflect different trends on the province-specific fertility rate because the KOSTAT's (2017) province-specific fertility rate projection estimates information use the national average birth rate date of vital statistics for the last 10 years (5 years). In this study, we propose an improvement plan that simultaneously considers important stable pattern maintenance and provincial fertility rate differentiation for an annual birth rate estimation. The method proposed in this study (proposal 1 and 2) can reflect birth rate changes from past to present and national and provincial differences by age that use time series data of the annual fertility rate. Proposal 3 also reflects the unique fertility rate trend from the past to the present by age according to province regardless of the relationship with the national trend. Therefore, it is preferable to use a relationship to the national rate when predicting the birth rate, as in proposals 1 and 2 because the national and the provincial fertility rate pattern are similar. These proposals show improved stability in terms of age-specific fertility rates.

  • Song-Do international city is the area developed in large-scale land reclamation. Song-Do area consists of reclamation layer, sedimentary layer(loose silt, soft clay and sand alternating) and residual layer from the ground surface. Therefore, using pile foundation is inevitable to build structures safely. In this area, driven PHC piles have been generally constructed in terms of environmental and economic conditions. As a result of analyzing 4 sites in Song-Do district 5 and 7 recently, the method of driving pile has many problems because of existence of rigid soil in sedimentary layer and installation of more than 30m piles. In this case, when installing piles by drive after pre-boring up to appropriate depth, the results of constructability analysis were very good. And in the economic efficiency, although 4% of construction cost rose, it was a very slight increase in comparison with improvement of workability. In the case of the stability, more than 70% compared to the allowable stress of piles was satisfied through the load test. As a result, when PHC piles is installed in Song-Do district, the proper construction method is that piles are located at bearing layer after boring rigid sand layer.

  • The objective of this study was to optimize the mixing ratio of mixed bean protein concentrate (MBPC) and to improve the quality of sausage analogues. Soybean (Glycine max MERR), mung bean (Phaseolus radiatus L.), red bean [Vigna angularis (Wild.)], and pea (Pisum sativum L.) were mixed and processed to produce a MBPC, which was used to make a sausage analogue. The protein, moisture, and carbohydrate content were significantly (p<0.05) different among the samples. A significant (p<0.05) improvement was observed in textural properties (hardness, gumminess, and chewiness), cooking loss, frying loss, and emulsion stability of the sausage analogue. This study suggested the possibility of attaining high-quality sausage analogues and partial sausage analogues using MBPC, which could serve as a potential ingredient in meat analogues.

  • Recently, due to concerns about the depletion of fossil fuels and the emission of greenhouse gases, the importance of hydrogen energy technology, which is a clean energy source that does not emit greenhouse gases, is being emphasized. Water electrolysis technology is a green hydrogen technology that obtains hydrogen by electrolyzing water and is attracting attention as one of the ultimate clean future energy resources. In this study, the surface properties of the porous transport layer (PTL), one of the cell components of the proton exchange membrane water electrolysis (PEMWE), were controlled using a sandpaper to reduce overvoltage and increase performance and stability. The surfaces of PTL were sanded using sandpapers of 400, 180, and 100 grit, and then all samples were finally treated with the sandpaper of 1000 grit. The prepared PTL was analyzed for the degree of hydrophilicity by measuring the water contact angle, and the surface shape was observed through SEM analysis. In order to analyze the electrochemical characteristics, I-V performance curves and impedance measurements were conducted.
