This paper presents an overview on flutter boundary prediction in tests which is principally based on a system stability measure, named Jury's stability criterion, defined in the discrete-time domain, accompanied with the use of autoregressive moving-average (AR-MA) representation of a sampled sequence of wing responses excited by continuous air turbulences. Stability parameters applicable to two-, three- and multi-mode systems, that is, the flutter margin for discrete-time systems derived from Jury's criterion are also described. Actual applications of these measures to flutter tests performed in subsonic, transonic and supersonic wind tunnels, not only stationary flutter tests but also a nonstationary one in which the dynamic pressure increased in a fixed rate, are presented. An extension of the concept of nonstationary process approach to an analysis of flutter prediction of a morphing wing for which the instability takes place during the process of structural morphing will also be mentioned. Another extension of analytical approach to a multi-mode aeroelastic system is presented, too. Comparisons between the prediction based on the digital techniques mentioned above and the traditional damping method are given. A future possible application of the system stability approach to flight test will be finally discussed.

This paper concerns analysis technique on determining of attitude control gain in the low frequency region using stability area. The stability area is defined by the D-Decomposition method, which was designed by Neimark. In this paper, it is introduced D-Decomposition method from reference paper and design attitude control gain of generic launch vehicle during first stage flight phase. For selecting PD control gain, it is considered the system parameter uncertainty about whole first-stage flight phase, represented the stability area boundary on each case. After deciding the PD control gain using stability area method, it is applied to launch vehicle linear model, and checking the stability margin requirement, frequency response characteristics.

In this paper, an active vibration control of a tensioned, elastic, axially moving string is investigated. The dynamics of the translating string are described with a non-linear partial differential equation coupled with an ordinary differential equation. A right boundary control to suppress the transverse vibrations of the translating continuum is proposed. The control law is derived via the Lyapunov second method. The exponential stability of the closed-loop system is verified. The effectiveness of the proposed control law is simulated.

In this paper, an active vibration control of a translating steel strip in a zinc galvanizing line is investigated. The control objectives in the galvanizing line are to improve the uniformity of the zinc deposit on the strip surfaces and to reduce the zinc consumption. The translating steel strip is modeled as a moving belt equation by using Hamilton’s principle for systems with moving mass. The total mechanical energy of the strip is considered to be a Lyapunov function candidate. A nonlinear boundary control law that assures the exponential stability of the closed loop system is derived. The existence of a closed-loop solution is shown by proving that the closed-loop dynamics is dissipative. Simulation results are provided.

In this paper, the nonlinear dynamics and the stability of nanopipes conveying fluid and modelled as a thin-walled beam is investigated. Effects of boundary conditions, geometric nonlinearity, non-classical transverse shear and rotary inertia are incorporated in this study. The governing equations and the three different boundary conditions are derived through Hamilton's principle. Numerical analysis is performed by using extend Galerkin method which enables us to obtain more exact solutions compared with conventional Galerkin method. Variations of critical flow velocity for different boundary conditions of carbon nanopipes are investigated and compared with linear case.
In this paper, an active vibration control of a tensioned elastic axially moving string is investigated. The dynamics of the translating string are described by a non-linear partial differential equation coupled with an ordinary differential equation. A time varying control in the form of right boundary transverse motions is proposed in stabilizing the transverse vibrations of the translating continuum. A control law based on Lyapunov's second method is derived. Exponential stability of the closed-loop system is verified. The effectiveness of the proposed controller is shown through simulations.

The Karman boundary-layer, has been numerically investigated for the disturbance wave number, wave velocity, azimuth angle and radius (Reynolds number, Re). The disturbed flow over rotating disk can lead to transition at a much lower Re than that of the well-known Type 1 mode of instability. This early transition is due to the excitation of the Type II mode. Presented are the neutral stability results concerning these modes by solving new formulated vorticity equations with consideration of whole convective terms. When the present numerical results are compared with the previously known results, the value of critical Re corresponding to Type I is moved from Rec,! =285.3 to 270.2 and the value corresponding to Type II is from $Re_{c,2}$=69.4 to 36.9, respectively. Also, the corresponding wave number is moved from $k_1$ =0.378 to $k_1$ =0.389 for Type I; from $k_2$ =0.279 to $k_2$=0.385 for Type II. For Type II, the upper limit of wave number and azimuth angle is $k_U$=0.5872,$varepsilon_U=-18^{\circ}$ , while its lower limit is$k_L$ =0.05, $varepsilon_L=-27^{\circ}$ This implies that the disturbances will be relatively fast amplified at small Re and within narrow bands of wave number compared with the previous results.
The research presented in this paper deals with dynamic stability analysis of the graphene nanoplatelets (GPLs) reinforced composite spinning disk. The presented small-scaled structure is simulated as a disk covered by viscoelastic substrate which is two-parametric. The centrifugal and Coriolis impacts due to the spinning are taken into account. The stresses and strains would be obtained using the first-order-shear-deformable-theory (FSDT). For Poisson ratio, as well as various amounts of mass densities, the mixture rule is employed, while a modified Halpin-Tsai model is inserted for achieving the elasticity module. The structure's boundary conditions (BCs) are obtained employing GPLs reinforced composite (GPLRC) spinning disk's governing equations applying principle of Hamilton which is based on minimum energy and ultimately have been solved employing numerical approach called generalized-differential quadrature-method (GDQM). Spinning disk's dynamic properties with different boundary conditions (BCs) are explained due to the curves drawn by Matlab software. Also, the simply-supported boundary conditions is applied to edges 𝜃=𝜋/2, and 𝜃=3𝜋/2, while, cantilever, respectively, is analyzed in R=Ri, and R0. The final results reveal that the GPLs' weight fraction, viscoelastic substrate, various GPLs' pattern, and rotational velocity have a dramatic influence on the amplitude, and vibration behavior of a GPLRC rotating cantilevered disk. As an applicable result in related industries, the spinning velocity impact on the frequency is more effective in the higher radius ratio's amounts.
The hydrodynamic instability of the three-dimensional boundary layer on a rotating disk introduces a periodic modulation of the mean flow in the form of stationary cross flow vortices. Detailed numerical values of the growth rates, neutral curves and other characteristics have been calculated for the Type II-instabilities. Presented are the neutral stability results concerning the two instability modes by solving new linear stability equations reformulated not only by considering whole convective terms but by correcting some errors in the previous stability equations. The present stability results are agree with the previously known ones within reasonable limit. The spatial amplification contours have been calculated for the moving disturbance wave, whose azimuth angle is between $\varepsilon=-10^{\circ}$ and $-20^{\circ}$. The transition flow of the moving disturbance wave will be developed at $\varepsilon=-15^{\circ}$ and Re=352 corresponding at the growth rates n = 5.8 from the spatial amplification contours.

Static and oscillatory loss of stability of composite pipes conveying fluid is Investigated. The theory of than walled beams is applied and transverse shear. rotary inertia, primary and secondary warping effects are incorporated. The governing equations and the associated boundary conditions are derived through Hamilton's variational principle. The governing equations and the associated boundary conditions are transformed to an eigenvlaue problem which provides the Information about the dynamic characteristics of the system. Numerical analysis is performed by using extended Gelerkin method. Variation of critical velocity of fluid with fiber angles and mass patios of fluid to pipe Including fluid is investigated.
