  • Electrochemical behavior of fluoroquinolone antibacterial agents on carbon paste electrode (CPE) were investigated by cyclic voltammetry and square wave adsorptive stripping voltammetry. The fluoroquinolone antibacterial agents tested in this study were Enrofloxacin (ENR), Norfloxacin (NOR), Ciprofloxacin (CIP), Ofloxacin (OFL) and Levofloxacin (LEV). In acetate buffer at pH 4.5, the oxidation peak potentials of the fluoroquinolone antibacterial agents of ENR, NOR, CIP, OFL, and LEV were 0.952 V, 1.052 V, 1.055 V, 0.983 V, and 0.990 V (vs. Ag/AgCl), respectively. And their oxidation peak currents from square wave adsorptive stripping voltammograms are proportional to the concentration of each antibacterial agent over the range from $0.2\;{\mu}M$ to $1\;{\mu}M$.

  • The electrochemical analysis of silver ion was performed using cyclic voltammetry (CV) and square-wave (SW) stripping voltammetry, and electrode cell systems were fabricated with graphite pencil electrode (GE) of working, reference and counter electrodes. Also electrolyte was the use of sea water as electrolyte solutions instead of ionic controlled solutions. The optimum analytical conditions for the cyclic and stripping parameters were determined using GE. The results approached the microgram working ranges of SW(ug/L) and CV(ug/L) Ag, and the optimum conditions were applied to frog's tissue and the food samples.

  • In the stripping scan square wave voltammetry (SV+SWV) polarography that is often used to analyze the concentration of heavy metals in water, we must measure the point where the faradic current that flows by the pure oxidation-reduction reaction at the electrode is greater than the capacitive current, the frequency cannot be too high. Therefore we wanted to find the frequency range that can be measured. In order to do this, we came up with a method to analyze the signal using FPGA Soc. With this method, the frequency of the square wave was increased from 10Hz to 400Hz by 10Hz, and the measuring time of the square wave was changed from 96.695% to 96.765% by 0.005% while 1600 experiments were conducted. As a result, the frequency of the square wave maintained a stable area of potential-current within 320Hz and it was possible to measure the potential-current signal when calculating the measuring time within the frequency range of 96.7155%.

  • To detect lead ions using electrochemical voltammetric analysis, Infrared Photo-Diode Electrode(IPDE) was applied via cyclic and square wave stripping voltammetry. Lead ions were deposited at 0.5 V(versus Ag/AgCl) accumulation potential. Instrumental measurements systems were made based on a simple and compact detection system. The stripping voltammetric and cyclic voltammetric optimal parameters were searched. The results yielded a cyclic range of $40{\sim}240mgl^{-1}$ Pb(II) and a square wave stripping working range of $0.5{\sim}5.00mgl^{-1}$ Pb(II). The relative standard deviation at 2 and 4 $mgl^{-1}$ Pb(II) was 0.04% and 0.02%(n=15), respectively, using the stripping voltammetric conditions. The detection limit was found to be 0.05 $mgl^{-1}$ with a 40 sec preconcentration time. Analytical interference ions were also evaluated. The proposed method was applied to determine lead ions in various samples.

  • Square-wave anodic stripping voltammetry was applied to the germanium(IV)- Morin complex in 0.5 M sulfuric acid as a supporting electrolyte. The peak potential appeared at - 0.606 V vs. Ag/AgCl. Effects of sulfuric acid concentration, Morin concentration, accumulation potential, and accumulation time on the stripping peak current for the complex of germanium(IV)-Morin were studied. Interferences by other metal cations that affect on stripping peak current were also investigated. The detection limit was found to be $3.76{\times}10^{-7}M(27 {\mu}g/L)$ for germanium(IV) using 60 seconds of accumulation time. The relative standard deviation (n=8) for 0.4 mg/L($5.5{\times}10^{-6}$ M) germanium(IV) was 3.2%.

  • In this research, to analyze the concentration of heavy metal ions in water, we tried to find the measuring time at which the faradaic electric currents flowing by the pure oxidation-reduction reaction from the pushing up mercury electrode of the stripping scan square wave voltammetry(SV+SWV) methods system becomes larger than the capacitance electric current. In order to do this, a method for analyzing signals using FPGA has been designed and we conducted 120 experiments using it. As a result, when the frequency of the square wave is 40Hz, The valid potential-current signal was measured from 96.6667% to 96.7155% of the end of the pulse of the forward and reverse, and the optimal signal was measured at 96.6667%. In addition, the experiment was carried out 40 times by changing the pulse height of the square wave from 10Mv to 40Mv. As a result, at a size smaller than 40Mv, there is little change in the magnitude of the potential-current, and an invalid signal was generated when it is out of this size.

  • A simple prepared paste electrode (PE) of DNA immobilized on a carbon nanotube was utilized for monitoring the antibacterial agent oxytetracycline (OTC), using square-wave anodic stripping voltammetry (SWASV) and cyclic voltammetry (CV). Given these conditions, SWASV and CV working ranges were observed within 1-10 ngL-1 OTC. In the SWASV and CV for OTC concentrations of 0.1 mgL-1, the relative standard deviations (n=15) were 0.068 and 0.067, respectively. At the optimized condition, the detection limit was found to be 0.4 ngL-1 OTC. This method was applied to the hatchery fish tissue.

  • The uptake of germanium(Ge) by health foodstuffs was interesting because of a therapeutic effect of organic germanium. Germanium contents in different plant parts of the cultivated Korean Angelica keiskej Koidz in several growing districts were determined by square wave anodic stripping voltammetry. Experimental conditions in germanium determination from Angelica kejskej Koidz were as follows : deposition time; 20 sec, deposition potential; -0.9 volts vs Ag/AgCl, and frequency; 100 Hz in 0.1M\;HClO_4, supporting electrolyte solution at pH 2.43 containing $1.5\;{\times}\;10^5\;M$ pyrocatechol violet. Calibration curve showed a good lineality in the range of 0.4 ppb to 2.0 ppm and the detection limit was 0.08 ppb. There was a large difference in content according to growing districts ranging from 102 to 386ppm. Germanium content in leaf parts was much higher than that in stems.

  • An integrated gold microdisk electrode was constructed and modified with metal-porphyrin or metal-phthalocyanines for NO determination in biological media. Microanalysis of NO using square wave anodic stripping voltammetry in $1\;{\times}\;10^{-2}$ M $HClO_4$ was optimal when the accumulation potential was 0.1 V, frequency 100 Hz, and the scan rate was 200 mV/s. When the electrode was modified with metal-porphyrin or metal-phthalocyanines, the anodic peak currents of NO increased due to the catalytic oxidation of NO. In case of Fe(II)-phthalocyanine modified electrode, the peak currents remarkably increased and the sensitivity was high. The calibration curve had good linearity in the range from $3.6\;{\times}\;10^{-5}$ M to $7.2\;{\times}\;10^{-7}$ M, and the detection limit was $5.7\;{\times}\;10^{-7}$ M. For the structural stability and increased sensitivity, Fe(II)-phthalocyanine modified gold microdisk electrode coated with Nafion was applied to determination of NO released from cultured macrophase.

  • High concentration of copper in mezcal, a representative Mexican spirituous alcoholic beverage, is a serious problem due to the damage that it may cause to human health. A cyclic voltammetry and square wave anodic stripping voltammetry study of copper (II) in three commercial mezcal samples based on glassy carbon electrode response was undertaken. The analysis was developed using a simulated matrix solution ($EtOH/H_2O$ (1:1), 0.1 M $LiClO_4$ and AcOH/AcONa 0.05 M/0.008 M), with Cu (II) concentrations in the range 0 - 1 ppm. Direct electrochemical analysis of mezcal samples was complicated by the presence of different organic compounds in the matrix. The analytical signal of Cu (II) in the spirituous was notably improved and the interferences caused by organic compounds were minimized, by diluting the mezcal samples 10% with $EtOH/H_2O$ (1:1) solution. An efficient quantification of Cu (II) was obtained from the calibration curve by the SWASV and using the internal standard method (Cd (II)) in commercial samples (1.2-6.7 ppm); the results were correlated satisfactorily with the values obtained by AAS.
