  • Daylighting has a great effect on people inside the room. It is also closely related to the lighting energy consumption. Daylight factor(DF) is a very important index for evaluation of the daylighting in overcast sky. The objective of this study is to verify the suitability of the Tregenza's Modified Split Flux formula for the calculation of the daylight factor. We compared the daylight factors calculated by two methods; one by a measurement with 1/5 scale model and the other by the Daysim program. We used variables for verification as window wall ratios(WWR) and angles of the sky visible. As a result, daylight factor calculated by Modified Split Flux is similar to the measurement when more daylight enters the inside. And error is significantly increased when the angle of the sky visible is $50^{\circ}$.

  • The research presents an application of Balanced ANOVA (BANOVA) by utilizing randomized orders for various Split-Plot Designs (SPDs) which include two cell designs, split-plot with one-way HTC (Hard to Control) factor, split-plot with two-way HTC factor, split-split-plot design and nested design. In addition, four MINITAB examples of 2-level split-plot designs based on the number of blocks and the type of whole-plots are presented for practitioners to obtain comprehensive understanding. Furthermore, the geometrical interrelated properties among three typical Designs of Experiments (DOE), such as Factorial Design (FD), Response Surface Design (RSD), and Mixture Design (MD) are discussed in this paper.

  • A low phase-noise microwave oscillator is presented by a substrate integrated waveguide(SIW) loading a complementary split ring resonator(CSRR) in this paper. The unloaded $Q$-factor of the SIW cavity is increased by loading a complementary split ring resonator(CSRR) and its value exhibits 1960. It is theoretically and experimentally demonstrated that the proposed circuit generates 11.3 dBm of output power at 9.3 GHz and a phase-noise of -127.9 dBc/Hz at 1-MHz offset.

  • This paper suggests a mixed-effects model for analyzing split-plot data when there is a repeated measures factor that affects on the response variable. Covariance structures are discussed among the observations because of the assumption of a repeated measures factor as one of explanatory variables. As a plausible covariance structure, compound symmetric covariance structure is assumed for analyzing data. The restricted maximum likelihood (REML)method is used for estimating fixed effects in the model.

  • A dual side cooling annular fuel having internal and external coolant channels has many advantages basically due to low fuel temperature and high DNBR margin, which can make a significant increase of core power density possible. So recently a 12x12 square annular fuel array was proposed for the fuel assembly to be reloaded without structural interference with operating reactors of OPR-1000s. Even through the inherent potential of the annular fuel on the high power density, it may be seriously eroded in the case of a severe unbalanced mass flux split to the internal and external channels in standpoint of DNB. Mass flux split is determined pressure drop characteristics between inner and outer channels. The spacer grids binding fuel array influence greatly the pressure drop in outer channels and the mass flux split. As an important factor of DNB behavior, the enthalpy differences at both channel exits were evaluated using the mass flux splits.

  • The event study analyzes returns around event date at a time. Event study provides estimation periods and cumulative returns. Stock split announcements are generally associated with positive abnormal returns. It is important to investigate the responses of stocks to new information contained in the announcements of stock splits. So It is important to study the long term performance in the case of Stock Split. This Study forced to two approach method in evaluating the performance, the event time portfolio approach and calendar time portfolio approach. The event time portfolio approach exists the CAR model, BHAR model and WR model. And the calendar time portfolio approach has the 3 factor model, 4 factor model, CTAR model, and RATS model.

  • This paper examined electric power transmission line models of reducing ELF(Extremely Low Frequency) magnetic field and analyzed the effects about models. In this research, FRF(Field Reduction Factor) of various models reducing magnetic field were analyzed compared to the horizontal 154 kV transmission line. As a result, the reduction ratio of magnetic field was almost proportioned to the compaction of phase-to-phase distance, and in case of diamond model and transposed model, magnetic field was able to be reduced nearly 50 %. It was analyzed that the magnetic field reduction ratio of triangle model was about 33 % and the magnetic field reduction ratio of split model was able to be reduced to 50 %. Especially, the magnetic field reduction ratio of multi split model could be reduced to 80 %.

  • This paper presents development of double-K fracture model for the split-tension cube specimen for determining the unstable fracture toughness and initial cracking toughness of concrete. There are some advantages of using of split-tension cube test like compactness and lightness over the existing specimen geometries in practice such as three-point bend test, wedge splitting test and compact tension specimen. The cohesive toughness of the material is determined using weight function having four terms for the split-tension cube specimen. Some empirical relations are also suggested for determining geometrical factors in order to calculate stress intensity factor and crack mouth opening displacement for the same specimen. The results of double-K fracture parameters of split-tension cube specimen are compared with those obtained for compact tension specimen. Finally, the influence of the width of the load-distribution of split-tension cube specimen on the double-K fracture parameters for laboratory size specimens is investigated. The input data required for determining double-K fracture parameters for both the specimen geometries are obtained using well known version of the Fictitious Crack Model.

  • We propose that we use a porous-Si for a new spatial walk-off polarizing material with a large split angle. The beam-split an91e f is determined by the filling factor g(or porosity p) of the columnar dielectric substance and the slant angle $\theta$. Theoretically, by the assuming that $n_2$=3.5, and $n_1$=1 one can predict that a large split angle, up to $27^{\circ}$, is possible if one can construct such films with $Si.^{[3]}$ To accomplish this, we use porous-Si. As a result of theoretical simulation, the best structural parameters for attaining the maximum split angle $\phi$=$27.5^{\circ}$ are $\theta$=$58.7^{\circ}$ and p=57.6%.

  • In case of a line-to-ground fault at transmission lines, a portion of fault current will flow into the earth through the footings of the faulted tower causing electrical potential rise nearby the faulted tower footings. In this situation, any buried pipelines or structures nearby the faulted tower can be exposed to the electrical stress by earth potential rise. Although many research works has been conducted on this phenomena, there has been no clear answer of the required separation distance between tower footings and neary buried pipeline because of its dependancy on the soil electrical charactersics of the concerned area and the faulted system.
